Thank you Kevin! I am 64 years old and work for a big box company as a sales manager working on the tech side of the business. I am self taught and do a lot of Google and TH-cam and to keep up with things. You are by far one of my favorites to watch! You have a simple fun way of teaching people how to do things, which I try to do at work for older folks that are having difficulties on their devices.

Another great video!! Hey, tip on what I had done at the office when setting up OneDrive. I redirected all of my default File Explorer Folders to my OneDrive folder on my PC. That easily moved all my files over to the OneDrive folder, but better yet when I went to open or save a document in an app, such as Word, it normally would default to browse the normal Documents folder in Windows. After redirecting, it automatically pointed to the Documents folder within the OneDrive folder and saved the file there. In turn OneDrive then uploaded it to the cloud. Did the same for Music, Videos, Photos, even Downloads, etc. Finally, when I clicked on Documents or the others in File Explorer, the folder opened just as if it would have normally. 😁👍🏻

I used to prepare my teaching slides and visuals at home then upload them to my Google Drive. When it's time to teach, I would then turn on the computer in the lecture room, log in to my Google Drive there, download my materials and then start teaching.
With OneDrive, all of that's gone. I love it. I am sure there are tons of features I have not explored so I'm going to watch your video to learn more.

Oooohh! You add an account via settings, account (slap side of head). I’d been trying to work that out for ages. I have a free Office 365 account through uni, but I couldn’t work out how to add my personal account on my Windows laptop, as well (like on my iPadOS account, which has both my Uni account and personal account)😂. As you can see, moving away from the Apple system to windows, is quite the learning curve.

Hello Kevin.. Great OneDrive video. As a MSP and an O365 Partner I feel it would be beneficial if you did a OneDrive Pt2 vid. There are things that you didn't have time to cover that some users could still get confused with. Like how the icons change when you deselect Files On-Demand. How do configure and manage multiple OneDrive accounts ODB accounts. What happens when you have conflicting accounts. Why did I get a message that a larger amount of files were deleted. Then a little more into setting up mobile syncing would help also. Especially syncing Photos. So many variables to photo syncing. Also the difference between OneDrive and ODB photo syncing. Sooooo much to talk about with OneDrive.

This is a great tutorial! I have a question, I helped set up OneDrive on a friend's computer. Whenever I delete a folder from the local drive I go back and the servers online put it back... How do I set OneDrive so the local folder is the master and the online folder the slave? Thanks in advance for any help on this! :)

Great, thorough video. The one thing I've encountered that you didn't cover is viewing files/folders shared with me in the desktop file explorer. They are easy to find the browser version, but not so much in file explorer. Can you sync from file explorer? Should I just use the browser version by default?

This is a really great and comprehensive intro to OneDrive. I use Office 365 on line and so theoretically I have access to a total of 6TB storage. I use it on my laptop and desktop computer and my wife on her desktop. 1 TB is NOT enough for my needs. (1) How do I access the OneDrive files created on my wife's computer? (2) How do I put files into her "space"? (3) How do I get access to more of my 6TB? Do I have to create another persona? Thanks in anticipation.

Right click on One drive in desktop.Go to settings. Then to account. Then click add an account. You can add your wife's account. After adding you can use your wife's account just like your account, if you have access to her account. If you create couple more microsoft account with different emails, you can add them also. For each account you will get 1 TB. So with 4 more accounts, you will access to all 6 TB.

I worked at a Data Centre for 35 yrs as a Hardware Planning Analyst and some customers we had declined ordering a server with a dual power supply. So if the power supply fails or the PDU where it’s powered from fails then the server won’t be available. But if you had 2 power supplies then we would connect 1 power cable that goes to one PDU and the other power cable to a different PDU for redundancy. PDU is the Power Distribution Unit with 2 sides. Just like a breaker box at your home but more sophisticated.

Great video, Kevin! I have a question... I have OneDrive installed in my laptop, tablet and phone. All of them back up on OneDrive. I want to combine the pictures I take with all my devices into a single file structure in OneDrive, so I move them using the app in the way I want to arrange them. My problem is that the phone and the tablet keep backing up the pictures as they always do and create duplicates of the pictures. For example, a single picture can be taken with my phone, so I have it there; the phone syncs win OneDrive. Later, I move that picture to the combined pictures (with the ones coming from the other devices). Then the phone backs up. So I have three copies of the same picture: one in the phone, one in the combined file structure and the third in the phone backup in OneDrive. How can I avoid this? Thanks in advance for your time and kind response.
    Martin
