Hello again and welcome back to Gates of Hell! Today we're doing another custom battle using the editor and trust me, this is a big step up from the previous battle. This battle and video will further showcase the new graphics, animations, mechanics and much more, including the new sound design which I think is especially awesome! Enjoy.
Note: All my maps and battles are modified/not part of the original game and does not represent the finished product. Everything you see is yours to experience if you so wish to create it. My version of the game contains no third-party content. Some videos/battles may contain footage of edited damage models and gun ranges. Everything is created in the GEM game engine's editor, allowing me to make fully custom battle simulations. - เกม
God those artillery shells landing have one of the most satisfying dust cloud effect I've ever seen
Check "Post Scriptum" or "Squad", they also have good dust effects

Operation Barbarossa started on June 22, 1941. So this has to be early summer, not spring.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing at the start of the video.....but then again hopefully Diplex was just creating an alternate reality scenario ; )
This could be a "small engagement" but this could be in Poland in the separated lands

The ambient sound of the guns and explosion really impressed alot, because the older mow games don't have that. And the sound feels aesthetic rather playing a background ambience music.

As a personal request I would want a scenario of the gran Sasso raid in gates of hell. I promise you it'll be awesome
I think when the modding community arrives there will be a mission or campaign of almost every famous battle or raid

I think the best thing in this game is the audio quality, absolutely gorgeous. Also the visual effect are stunning, the dust raising from the field gun when they fire for example, such a great touch.

Railway refers to a larger structure housing a railroad, carriage station, etc. The railroad is just the tracks. as seen in the video :)

I don't know how its used in other countries but here in NSW:
railway's are the tradition tracks with sleepers trains run on.
railroad's are road's with tracks embedded into them. Although this term has largely been replaced with "tramlines" and "lightrail tracks"
I am so glad i bought this game the other day although i have played them all since soldiers heroes of ww2 seeing you vid proves what an absolute gem this game is, i just hope the developers get the support they need to continue their great work, also Diplex you vids are a great insperation keep up the good work all best to all.

Something you might want to check though, is that your audio levels are a bit low. I had to turn my computer volume all the way up to 100 just to hear you talk, and even then it was barely audible.
HI Diplex! I've always enjoyed your editor battles, do you think one day you could do a tutorial on how to set them up? Or share some resources on how to do them(like tutorials that youve come across or something like that) I would really like to learn how to use it better. keep up the awesome content! Cheers!

It was obviously in regards to the actual defenses.

The Maginot line worked at perfection.
Due to shortcut in the budget for it making the line wasn't overpowered as the people think it was (that's just a myth due to the propaganda of the begining of the war). So the goal of the line was more to make the German advancing through Belgium or giving time to France to mobilize more ressources.
And it worked.
@@cpp3221 but one idiotic general ordered one section of army to fall back, thus the army that was manning the defense crumble.

Gunfights and battles in gates of hell look more better in a slow but intense way compared to men of war’s almost Michael bay’ish fast paced battles.
Mortar animations are literally my top3 new animations

More more more more pleaseeeee do a big battle of a German defence line somewhere near Kursk after the battle of Kursk with a destroyed town which would make amazing natural positions from the rubble and trenches on the other side with mortar pits and at positions to hold an onslaught of soviet forces

.... excellent mini battle .... that come more from this new game ... apparently there are many possibilities to create outside what they still have to launch from other equipment and types of soldiers .... about this mini battle I would only make an observation ... I would have given the Russians a little better chance ... I would place the arrival of 2 T-26 and 1 BT-5 a few minutes after the German reinforcement arrives ... just to give support ... because the Germans had a lot of advantage with that 150mm artillery ... but this is just my opinion .... not that there is anything wrong, everything was perfect ...... I put my imagination a little ahead ..... congratulations on the quality of this battle.

It might make the video a bit longer, but if you involve artillery pieces to an assault, maybe give them a minute or two to shell the positions that are going to be attacked. A commander that would sent their men into attack a fortified position without getting ten or twenty shells put onto the area would be filled with folly. Otherwise, good show old chap!
nice to see you back Dippy! Railway = English. Railroad = American. Also Gates of Hell. Does it run well? is it more demanding than vanilla AS2?
Technically, according to my MoW2 experience, if your at guns crew gets wiped out you just place another one, no other way to stay against so many tanks. Also that order to t28 was a suicide, cause it is mostly designed as anti infrantry tank and you place it 1v3 in the open. A player would have hold the central line for some time and then do a rush attack with btr shooting sau tracks and hitting it from the back, then do a push to German arty. As for the tank btr would stand behind sau and hit it with astu rounds. Or disable the saus first and then push pz3 with t28. That is high risk high reward strategy but also the best one here so far
I've played the T28(russian) in WT and that thing MELTS ENEMIES LIKE BUTTER that is if the enemies dont aim at you gun barrel, at which point they either obliterate you, or you spray them with MGs and pray to god they either, die to your MGs, get shot, or get blown up by friendly bombers.
Hey diplex just a correction this battle is probably in 1941 so this is not the outbreak of the war the war started in 1939 i think the word you where looking for was the start/outbreak of operation Barbarossa

Why and how did this game go from Standalone to DLC content for Call To Arms? I dont understand
@@Plyuto518 BestWay owns the game engine GEM and thus licensing is through them. 1C owns "Men of War" name and franchise.

Yup unfortunately liscensing issues were the root problem for this game to go for a standalone title to being a dlc under call to arms.

These missions are cute and everything but could you actually show us the GEM editor instead? I'm interested to see whether the devs have taken on board the community's want for different historical models etc
You should watch some old videos on the field manuals placement if primary positions and secondary positions. Along with much much more.
There's videos on german infantry vs tank tactics,along with americsn anti tank tactics. It's all declassified but is avalible. Kinda hard to follow but you'll get the idea if how the armies woyld set up there guns better.
When will they fix floating corpses in trenches? Mowas2 has the same problem.
Question uh, what map is this? I downloaded your map pack, and theres 16 of them. And i dont know where that map in the video is.
