Helmets, as well as rifles were NEVER lacking in the red army unless the unit was encircled. That is a myth created because soviet steelhelmets, especially the SSH39 and 40 are heavy as all hell, so thickk that they caan stop pistols 9mm and .45acp something no other helmet did at the time. But, people don´t like wearing heavy shit. Soldiers are people. And whenever someone felt safe enough to take their camera out, the more experienced soldiers felt safe enough to take their helmets off.

The Mg42 wasn’t the wonder weapon that it’s offen claimed to be, it was in essence a cheapened version of the mg34 that due to the cheapening measures ment that it used a direct recoil system that allowed it to have such a high rate of fire, The higher rate of fire wasn’t exactly practical in reality either if your going though 20+ rounds a second, on 50 round your gonna run out very fast and carrying large ammo belts is incredibly impractical in reality. Additionally because of the high rate of fire the barrel would overheat incredibly quickly to the point it was forbidden in all but the most extreme circumstances to not fire more than busts of 2 seconds with 4 seconds intervals, this effectively gave it the same practical sustained rate of fire a minute of the Bren gun which was far cheaper and was more practical in many ways. The regards to the mg34 continued production run it was produced for the rest of the war as the 42 couldn’t be used in vehicle mounts due to its side opening barrel change system which ment it would be physically impossible to change the barrel inside a vehicle, Not being able to change a barrel on an weapon that has massive over heating problems was why it was never used inside any German tank till after the Mg3 re design after the war
IS-2´s saw action durring fieldtests in early 44. Only durring bagration were they deployed in their independent breakthrough battalions who´s task was, confusingly enough, to move into a breakthrough created by infantry and artillery and move in behind the mobile forces meant to exploit the breakthrough. If the germans pulled their usual trick of trying to counter the mobile forces with heavy tanks, those had to face off against about 30 IS-2´s that rolled in behind the speartip of T-34´s The first reaction of german high command roughly translated sums up to "I mean our tigers and panthers can kill 1 or 2... but there are more than 1 or 2. And they can kill you back." Before bagration though, the first IS-2´s were still deployed alongside regular tank divisions and in small numbers
All this suffering, all this slaughter, it is nothing when compared to the horror of the grim darkness of the far futre. There is no peace among the stars. Only a eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughing of thirsting gods...
One thing I never really see from your videos of Soviet assaults on German positions is the Soviet attackers never bringing in their own artillery, mortar support and/or air support to provide supporting fire. It would have been quite a sight to see Soviet artillery and Katusyha artillery support hitting the Germans first prior to the Soviet infantry and armour assault. Plus, it's always armour support but never their own infantry support like heavy machine gun or mortar teams setting up behind the attacking infantry.
Another good video. The graphics of this game seem to be a significant improvement over MOWAS 2. Things like water bodies, animations, explosions etc are much more realistic. The good thing is even though graphics are a big improvement, it doesn’t seem to slow down the computer in most cases.

The frequently used Panzerfaust 60 had a penetration power against RHS of 200 mm. The T34-85 has effective armor of max 90 mm (45 mm front plate at 60° == 90 mm vertical armor). So the Panzerfaust can penetrate the T34-85's armor at any angle, at any range, assuming it hits (Panzerfaust 60 had an effective range of 60 meters) and the projectile doesn't glance off (if the angle is very narrow).
After a 1945 scenario, perhaps we should rewind back to spring or summer of 1942 and experience a partisan action against German Wehrmacht. Maybe an armored convoy ambushed by Soviet Partisans based off of Sabaton’s song Unbreakable.
Would it be possible for you to do a map where each side can receive reinforcements per # of enemy killed? ie. 5 enemy infantry killed = 1 friendly squad reinforcement, 2 enemy tank = 1 friendly tank reinforcement etc? You did a map some years back where this was possible and I found it to be very unique. I could understand how this could be complex scripting-wise.
"It could have been a different result..." So run it again! You already have everything set up. Just play it again and we get a whole new Part 2 video without much more work on your part. :)
Been watching dozens of your videos and I noticed that most of the attacking sides failed and I believe those battles were not as exciting to watch because they were quickly developing into lopsided slaughters against the attackers who practically have little time for target acquisitions while still having to contend with finding suitable cover. . Perhaps you can try to design battles where the attacking sides not just outnumber the defenders by three to five times but also coordinate the waves instead of merely sending them in just to watch them blow up way before they can even get three shots at the defenders. Most first waves are used to scope out and pin-point enemy defences. Subsequent waves should be coordinated not just in specific directions of attacks but unit compositions to take down comparative hard-points instead of general waves appearing on the horizon. This would also avoid vehicle congestions due to destroyed/disabled vehicles getting in the way and giving defenders even more target acquisition time. Artillery bombardment/aerial attacks starting after the first wave of attacks on defenders should be more accurate based on the reports made by the first wave of attackers. . Hope my suggestions, if adopted, help to make your videos even more enjoyable. If not, keeping do what you love anyway.
There needs to be a speed limit on the spin from explosion debris 'gibs' physics. Seeing a turrent or log spin around at 1k miles per hour, looks ridiculous.

they dont use HEAT charges, its called a shape charge, the same warhead thats on an RPG.

the way the barrel was changed differs also. The MG42 is changed to the side whilst the MG34 is changed bye rotating the back up.
