How does coffee affect our body and sleep?

  • Over 2 billion cups of coffee are drunk each day worldwide!
    But what is coffee and what effects does caffeine have on our body and sleep?
    Is coffee healthy or not?! What are the latest evidence based findings suggesting we should do?
    One of the many compounds found in coffee is caffeine. Caffeine helps us feel alert, focused, and energetic but can also leave some feeling jittery and lacking good quality sleep. Why do we respond differently to one another and could we respond to caffeine differently as an individual today as compared to tomorrow?
    These are some of the questions I address in today’s video! Let me know if you like coffee and if so how you prefer having yours!

    Thank you so much for this informitive video.
    I've just started drinking black coffee, and am completely sold on the beverage.
    I've experienced some weight loss while consuming at least 1-2 cups in a day.
    It infact helps my moods, and lifts me out of depression.

      I think it’s so tricky to know exactly how much to have in order to maximise its benefits.
      This is because it affects each of us differently and differs from how it affects us as an individual today as compared to tomorrow.
      Also when it comes to focus, the quality of the sleep we had the previous night, the food we eat that day, how well we manage our stress levels and how much we move our body will contribute immensely too !

    Everything I have read is that we become caffeine adapted and that caffeine no longer works as a vasoconstrictor, or at least we no longer respond by becoming vasoconstricted.

    Not JUST coffee. Black tea in volume is just as bad.

    This is a nice station great job. I'm addicted to the flavored coffee creamers and sugar, But Hey I'm not waking up drinking whiskey and beer. Thank You for the video
