About 20 years ago, when my derm diagnosed rosacea, he recommended the avene thermal water. He said he could not tell me why it worked for minimizing flares, but that his patients found it helpful. He also encouraged me to dump all the dermalogica skincare I was using. Anyway, years later and with a much improved skin barrier, it is the thermal water and heavy duty moisturizer more than any medication that keeps my skin at ease.

I love you!!!! I bought the Avene cicalfate emulsion, the mineral tinted SPF and the tinted compact SPF in a leap of faith after watching your videos. I'm in Europe so Avene is cheap and readily available everywhere. These products are wonderful!!!! My skin loves them! Thank you sooooo much.
@@Yoyo90s Hey, right now I use Avene A Oxitive Nuit. I have no irritation with it. And I have rosecea. The A Oxitive eye creme also worked for me. You can also do the sandwich method to be extra safe: moisturizer --> Retinol ---> moisturizer. But the physiolift line also has fragrance in it... Maybe that's also a factor for irritation.
I use tretinoin around the eyes. It takes a while to get to a point where it doesn't dry out your undereyes, but it's totally doable if you're persistent. same with the lips. So glad I just saw this comment. I was debating on stopping the tretenoin around my eyes because I felt that my under eye wrinkles are getting worse. I’m thinking now it’s just the drying. Not sure how old you are but I’m 50 and started using it to get rid of wrinkles and not to create more. Lol
I put a light eye cream around my eyes first then put Tretinoin on my face and then gently swipe around my eyes with the remaining Tretinoin left on my fingers. The skin will build up a tolerance to it if you introduce it slowly.
Avene has a very decent range of organic (chemical) sunscreens in Europe. Their spfs never irritated my sensitive, rosacea skin but those tend to give a slight to moderate white cast - depending on your skin tone. They do make tinted versions, though.

Hope you can have your top 10 list from Some By Mi. Really love your videos Dr. Dray!!
I just bought the Avene Xeracalm cleansing oil. It has a VERY light foam to it once water is applied. I like it. I just wish the bottle wasn't so big. I didn't feel stripped at all. I'm a 45 year old female for reference.
I use it also and find it great I’m pleased it’s a good size because it lasts longer 😁
@@maryrose7842 This is true. It will last a long time. Have you tried the first oil free cleanser Dr. Dray mentioned in the beginning of the video?
@@mignonalverson655 no because my skin is dry & sensitive. I’m happy with the one I have. I have used the aqua gel moisturiser & another of the moisture creams. Both very good. No breakouts when using Avene.
One if the best parts of my day is coming home after a 10 hour shift and eagerly watching a video from you! 😊 Thanks so much, Dr Dray!! You're amazing! Happy Tuesday. Hope you have a cozy evening. 💖
Plz say a whitening cream ..plz mam
You are looking wonderful Dr Dray, really enjoying you watching.❤️
I like the way you say “As we get wiser” 😊
Hi Dr Dray! Do fried foods cause or worsen acne? Happy Tuesday❤️
Do you think Avene is better than LaRoche Posay?
Good morning Dr. Dray your skin looks beautiful today.
I tried the tinted sunscreen and hated it! It was so greasy, sticky and stinky. I couldn’t wait to wash it off my face. Returned it immediately! I’m not surprised it’s been removed.
I 🤍Avène! My favorite moisturizers are from Avène - the Tolerance Extrême Emulsion/Cream/Mask. The only moisturizers that keep my skin soft, supple, and most importantly: zero irritation.
Hi nikola! Are the emulsion was hydrating enough for combination skin? Im having hard time finding the crem version
@@NYS30 not in the winter, at least for me. during winter i use the cream or mask version of tolerance extreme, or the cosrx hydrium moisture power enriched cream. love that one. but if you can only find the emulsion, it will still work great depending on how harsh the winter is where you live.
I love their cleanance cleanser. I know it has fragrance, but it works for me. I tried the fragrance free gel, but for my oily skin I liked the cleanance better.
Although eye cream is not necessary, i love having it in my routine and I use their eye cream. Im on to my second bottle and very happy with it.
What about physiolift ?
Thank you, Dr. Dray. I had no idea that they make mineral tinted sunscreen. I am learning so much.
Love you, Dr. Dray. Seriously. You are a gem.
I love even the simple Cold Cream.
Avene cicalfate good for whole face.. And wash in the morning it's miracle
how often would you reccomend using the retrinal advanced wrinkle corrector? and what products should come before and after?
Absolutely love Avene cold cream lip balm, the absolutely best I have found.
Dr dray your videos are addictive!
Top 10 Tuesdays! (Besides the Inkey List that came on a Thursday, hehe.) Love this series.
the Cicalfate post procedure emulsion contains Ethylhexyl Palmitate and i looked up a few things about it, will it cause clogged pores to develop?
Hey, Dr. Dray! I would love to know what you think about the products for acne-prone skin from Avene. I just hate those products but, it would be great to hear your opinion.
Please do top 10 of bioderma also. Much love.
I love the lip balm and I have really troublesome lips! I like it even better than the Laneige mask that everyone talks about. My lips are so pale that I barely notice the white cast.
Hi dr dray,
Would you recommend putting a moisturizer over the retrinal .1 even if it’s not irritating? Would it be ok to use this as a last step?
The tinted mineral sunscreen is available in Canada. I bought it on the weekend and really enjoy it.
What about using the RetrinAL advanced wrinkle corrector all over the face including the eye area instead of the separate eye cream? OR Is the eye cream formulated better for the eye area?
They still carry the tinted liquid sunscreen you like in Canada!😁
Was hoping you would mention the Hydrance Serum!!!
It does seem to have fragrance in it.
Could you please make a Top Ten BB creams? (I know Avene has one as well)
I have a bad habit of biting my lip, so I appreciate the lip balm recommendation!
Can you do a video on Obagi products?
I use the RetrinAl 0.1 & it’s OK. Doesn’t irritate me, but does it work? I don’t see anything different from using it & it’s sooooo darn expensive!
@Suza I’ve had too many bad experiences on EBay with skincare products. The risk is not worth saving 15 bucks to me.
Same, I have been using it for about 4 months and I have no complains but also don't know whether it's actually doing anything?? I guess it's one of those things you have to use a long time without having clear proof it actually delivers.. Will probably keep using it though, luckily in Europe it's not too expensive :)
Hi Dr Dray! Why does seborrheic dermatitis get worse in fall and winter?
Dr dray does have videos on winter skin care.
Difference between avene retrinal and physiolift?
it depends which country you're in as to which one is available. They're very similar.
Physiolift is the same as RetinAL
What about the A-Oxitive line?
hi there. I just want to know which avene product is perfect for removal of pigmentation and skin brightening?
Hi Dr! Thanks for the video!! Can we replace the normal sunscreen with the mineral compact?
Oh wow I LOVE the jump links. Thanks so much!
