This is reminding me of Warhammer 40K but completely unique and not a ripoff of it. But it also reminds me of Mass Effect and Isaac Aasimov’s Foundation series. If a bunch of the people who created ME went to this studio and are working on Exodus, I am cautiously optimistic. Plus Matthew McConaughey and Drew Karpyshyn? Alright alright alright.
I've been following up on Exodus since it was first shown, have read up on the lore and am really excited like i haven't been in quite some time. I loved the gritty world in mass effect 1 and 2, was not happy and totally frustrated with 3 and andromeda, so getting something that is about the survival of your race in a dark, foreboding universe is a full on BUY for me. Time dilation is something i like in sci-fi so it is a very welcome bonus in Exodus. All in all, can't wait to see more!
So, so, so, so excited for Exodus. I just finished the book, and it was fantastic read. I'm so invested in those characters and cannot wait for the seond book to come out, or to see how they connect to the characters in the game.
"Imagine it now with Cmdr. Shepards Voice from me: This is Cmd.Shepard and this is my favorite game so far!" :). Just an humorous way to say how curious/exited i am too for this game, full of Mass Effect Vibes
It does also say that they’re backed by Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro… which does not make me optimistic. Shall we take bets on how much each loot box will be? $20?
I haven't read it yet, but they just released a book called Exodus The Archimedes Engine. I also just found out one of the episodes of Secret Level will be on Exodus.
Cautiously optimistic about ME - It seems like it's in good hands. I have always been slightly more DA leaning, but if this one is better than Veilguard (which seems inevitable in the best possible way given who is running the show for it's development), I might be dragging out all my N7 gear and putting ME firmly at the top of my fandom list. (Right now it's a CLOOOOOSE second). Also, putting Exodus on my list of games to follow. It seems anxiety inducing with the time dilation, but still compelling.
Theory. Zz orlev is a ship ai or ships pilot. Like a cross of edi and joker. He has to be on the ship and the unusual name sounds like some kind of ai signifier
The only gripe I have so far is blood not smearing when touched. I'm so picky when it comes to details. The only other concern is Archetype being under the Hasbro umbrella.
Hasbro is a toy company whose design for the game will be a bunch of fans buying the related toys. So it is very unlikely they will get in the way of Exodus’s development.
I'm honestly looking forward to Exodus more than I am the next Mass Effect. The Time dilation effect marks for a mature storyline I think, which BioWare has recently lacked and the developers are a known quantity (with them being Bioware alumni). I have no idea if something like that short story you mentioned at the start will be something we'll see in the game (personally I don't think so, as that seems more like a Halloween type piece), but hopefully that is some of the horrible sort of stuff and outcome of choices we may be forced to deal with, and maybe this decision, whichever it is, doesn't actually have a good outcome. I also like the idea of those Silicates, those super soldier type things. Gained incredible power at the cost of becoming something else. I wonder if our Jun can choose Silicate at character creation or even during the course of the game. I just wish they were faster in their character reveals, Elise? was revealed ages ago.
I don't know how accurate it is to compare to ME, It's clear that devs are very inspired by ME is terms of you having companions, developing relationships with them and it being in space, but ... That seems to be where similarities end. ME is a space operah, the sci-fi parts of it are rather soft, this seems to be more classic hard sci-fi, something akin to asimov novels.Maybe I'm wrong, it's just the impression I got from everything I have seen so far.
Holy cow. I don't even need to see the gameplay to be hype. Just seeing the name of the people involved it already bring tears to my eyes. I think I have more faith in Exodus than the new Mass Effect at this point. I really hope it live up to the hype to become another trilogy immortalized like Mass Effect. We really need more rpgs like ME.
It’s not perfect, since it will have linear game maps and a lot less freedom than players these days are used to. The draw will be great storytelling, visuals, and gameplay. Unlike Balder’s Gate 3 (which is turn based gameplay), this might actually convince the big publishers to give medium budget linear real time action games a little more respect.
This game looks like it will be way more mature then Mass Effect with that short story. Considering this is mostly the old BioWare team. I hope this game does well enough for a new IP or just a sequel.
It looks so good, but might be too scary or greusome for me?! I'm so happy this exists, and that devs from BioWare, Naughty Dog, and elsewhere are enjoying working on it. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Great video, editing, voiceover, pacing, length. 👍
Dammit, McCowboyhey was onscreen and it cut to the audience, and all I could think was "hey, that's Megan Everett ! she looks nice in that dress". However, this game looks good, hopefully the horror and hard scifi vibes keep it fresh.
a lot of ppl would be satisfied if they just listened to fans and made customizations items that weren’t assets flips and actually nice to look at. For example: more dresses, crop tops, athletic apparel, different kinds of skirts, boots, more variety in hairstyles, more freedom with accessories etc. (srry for the lack of male customization, I never customize male characters 😭)
The concept sounds very exciting, I hope the final product ends up being one of those exceptions that are as good as they look. I cross all my fingers, all of them, even my arms and legs. 🤣🤞
I’m curious how much they’ll commit to the dilation effect. Like if there are 3 main missions when you leave is it a set 20 years pass for each of those missions no matter how much time you spend doing said mission. And side missions are like 10 years dilation for each of them. Like will it be a set “time” that passes. Or would it be more dynamic way mr hulthen spends 2 hours doing mission and I spend 5. But our dilation effect is different because technically our travelers were gone for different amounts of time
This is something I have come to terms with over the years, Its The Original Trilogy of Mass Effect I fell in love with, Those specific set of characters, in those specific locations and settings and the story that was told. I might never fall in love again with a Mass Effect game of the future I never connected with Andromeda, (it had its moments) It just never felt like Mass Effect to me, simply because what Bioware is making is called Mass Effect, that doesn't mean I'm automatically going to love it. The Bioware that made the the games i loved for so may years has well........gone, hardly any of the original Dev team remain, where instead on focusing on writing interesting and compelling stories, their priority seems to be how they can incorporate modern day politics into every aspect of the game, that mainly only supports a specific demographic and if you don't like it ? that makes you a Homophobe, sexist, misogynist Racist, etc etc etc Stan Lee said it best "social Issues I tried to get in the background or underlaying a plot, but never to the point of letting it interfere with the story, or hitting the reader over the head"
Drew Karpyshyn's writing a story for a game developed by incredibly well respected industry veterans. Do I have any reservations? Hell NO! P.S. One of the LIKES on the video is mine, love your work.

For those excited, Amazon will have a short for Exodus in the new show Secret Level on December 10.
I can’t wait
This is reminding me of Warhammer 40K but completely unique and not a ripoff of it. But it also reminds me of Mass Effect and Isaac Aasimov’s Foundation series.
If a bunch of the people who created ME went to this studio and are working on Exodus, I am cautiously optimistic.
Plus Matthew McConaughey and Drew Karpyshyn? Alright alright alright.
Funny because WH is a ripoff of many franchises already.
Also there won’t be a bunch of shareholder jerks forcing the devs to release the game before it is ready, which was Cyberpunk 2077’s fate.
10:00 "to say that this game is in good hands is a massive understatement." ❤️👍
Is it me or does this look like Starcraft and Mass Effect baby ? Its an awesome concept.
I would kill for a Mass Effect / StarCraft crossover, or a Mass Effect RTS.
The book is SO GOOD! Is been awhile since I read such a good sci fi book. I can’t wait where this game will take us
So, so, so, so excited for Exodus. I just finished the book, and it was fantastic read. I'm so invested in those characters and cannot wait for the seond book to come out, or to see how they connect to the characters in the game.
Yes... It caught my attention, I will check it out 😊
This looks like an enjoyable foray while waiting for Mass Effect 5. I hope it does well.
Very nice video, love how you started it with short story 👍
I am also a mass effect fan, so hope this game will be a banger! 😎
I am definitely cautiously optimistic for this game.
it's bad
10:13 say no more this is instant wishlist :D I guess this it out spiritual Mass Effect made by OG Bioware ppl
The whole celestial idea is very All Tomorrows. Definitely interested
"Imagine it now with Cmdr. Shepards Voice from me: This is Cmd.Shepard and this is my favorite game so far!" :). Just an humorous way to say how curious/exited i am too for this game, full of Mass Effect Vibes
Time Dilation is an aspect of space travel you don't see portrayed much. I'll reserve my judgements until we get actual gameplay.
Stargate SG1 is by far the best sci-fi medium that portrayed time dilation 👌
@@MassEffect1988 I agree!
Love how this game is true to the theoretical concepts from the theory of relativity with time dilation❤❤ That’s really really cool!!
Oh okay… yeah. Yeah this is definitely going to be on my radar. Thank you very much MrHulthen
Just waiting to wishlist on Steam...
For me the biggest selling point for the game is Drew Karpyshyn as the narrative director
This. Knowing Drew K is the lead writer has me hyped asf. Time to research this game asap
A hardcore science fiction story with choices, consequences, and maybe responsibility, I'm most definitely in.
Theory. Zz orlev is a ship ai or ships pilot. Like a cross of edi and joker.
He has to be on the ship and the unusual name sounds like some kind of ai signifier
I had a similar thought, like a brain ship or something. Human mind in a mechanical housing.
I'm nervous after seeing Dragon Age turned into a Zelda game .
Looks intriguing - dev team sounds like my kind of guys (since I played and enjoyed all the games you mentioned anyway)
The game looks truly astounding and beatiful in everything from planets to ships, creatures and characters. It's almost too perfect.
I think Avowed should be a great game. Obsidian has some of the best writing and choice around now.
We're all waiting YEARS for these games to come out now. Technology was suppose to help speed things up, not hinder us.
I am waiting for this since it got announced
The Mara Yama sounds so cool. Like baba yaga from John Wick. This game is gonna be good. Getting serious Mass Effect vibes from this game.
Finally something to be excited about. This looks amazing.
You dont have to say that twice king, im going to be there as so should you!
*Yes you, im looking at you nerd reading my comment*
Oh the team behind this is legendary.
This game seems really promising.
I can't wait to have more news about this game, seems interesting, we got some Mass Effect vibe!
I'm really looking forward to this game. I'll jump thru the hoops for hype for now...
Oookayyy, thanks for this video.
I'm getting more and more intereseted in this game.
The Peak 15 music at the beginning 🫡
This game looks like it will be way more mature then Mass Effect with that short story. Considering this is mostly the old BioWare team. I hope this game does well enough for a new IP or just a sequel.
I hope this has Space Engineers level of free flying. Simply landing and taking off and I'm good.
The book is fantastic as well, they got one of the best science fiction authors to write it
Not usually a Sci Fi guy but until they make a Fantasy game, might as well take a peek on this~
This seems good, lets hope wizards of the coast keep their hands off the creative project
Mass Effect The Veilgaurd.... hahahaha no thanks. Still gave a Like cause I like ur content MrHulthen.
a lot of ppl would be satisfied if they just listened to fans and made customizations items that weren’t assets flips and actually nice to look at. For example: more dresses, crop tops, athletic apparel, different kinds of skirts, boots, more variety in hairstyles, more freedom with accessories etc. (srry for the lack of male customization, I never customize male characters 😭)
I’ll wait until the game fully releases and decide then. You’re not the boss of me or my actions. I am!
I really, really want this game 🤩🤩🤩
I need this to hit it out of the park.
Already been excited just waiting for a release day
The hype is real, but I don't want to pin my hopes on it. So I will wait patiently. I just want some good romance mixed in with good story telling.
Matthew McConaughey (muh · kaa · nuh · hay), i tried really hard not saying anything lol
Doing a bit of Big Dan immitation there at the end? 😂
Because Bethesda didn’t make it?
But our dilation effect is different because technically our travelers were gone for different amounts of time
I’ve been excited for over a year
I hope the game devs take a good look at current situation of game industries and take note.
No worries whatsoever. This game will be our saviour.
"Turning ON his neighbor". Lol.
I'm looking forward to this game mainly because the development team is made up of the people that made Mass Effect so great!
I didn't even know this existed, always need more gritty sci fi rpgs
This is something I have come to terms with over the years, Its The Original Trilogy of Mass Effect I fell in love with, Those specific set of characters, in those specific locations and settings and the story that was told. I might never fall in love again with a Mass Effect game of the future
I never connected with Andromeda, (it had its moments) It just never felt like Mass Effect to me, simply because what Bioware is making is called Mass Effect, that doesn't mean I'm automatically going to love it.
The Bioware that made the the games i loved for so may years has well........gone, hardly any of the original Dev team remain, where instead on focusing on writing interesting and compelling stories, their priority seems to be how they can incorporate modern day politics into every aspect of the game, that mainly only supports a specific demographic and if you don't like it ? that makes you a Homophobe, sexist, misogynist Racist, etc etc etc
Stan Lee said it best "social Issues I tried to get in the background or underlaying a plot, but never to the point of letting it interfere with the story, or hitting the reader over the head"
Drew Karpyshyn's writing a story for a game developed by incredibly well respected industry veterans.
Do I have any reservations? Hell NO!
P.S. One of the LIKES on the video is mine, love your work.
Looks good! And we need a successor to ME since it's unlikely that Bioware is going to survive the flop that the new Dragon Age game is looking to be.
Don't be hyped, don't be hyped, don't be hyped!
