I think I'm going to move to this Exodus Cycle, Commander. It looks better than ours, well, better than Andromeda anyway. I'm very optimistic about this one. And since it's a Sci-Fi, it is bound to have my favourite activity in the whole universe: Throwing things out of the airlock. Can't wait.
I am really happy with what the developers do, showing the history and all that info in such diverse ways. That is a great build up for a franchise that is hopefully coming. As an old Mass effect player/fan, this looks like what i wanted to see from ... well you know who.
H Y P E D ! As an OG Bioware fan and someone who's read a lot of Peter Hamilton's books, I'm absolutely stoked about all this. Bring on the vids, Mr Hulten. We're here for it 💪😸
for the majority of the Celestials, ordinary humans are like ants left to their own devices they will leave humans alone. If they find humans invading their house, though, they'll take actions to remove the pests.
Very hyped about this game. Love the Sci-Fi genre so was immediately hooked when i saw the story trailer and gameplay trailer. Now im busy catching up with the Exodus lore.
It will be interesting to find out how other celestial domains decided how to broach the restrictions light speed. The Crown Dominion's response was the mindlines with the intention of ensuring athanasia. The lore of this world will rival Mass Effect for sure. The world building is more than marketing. It's setting a stage.
I'm currently reading the companion novel The Archimedes engine. I really wasn't expecting much, but its surprisingly good, and has me excited about the gameplay possibilities. of course, that can be double edged if they're not careful.
Elohim is one name for God. I just finished the trilogy again last night. Immediately booted up a new Earthborn Adept playthrough. I don't know how I will start this and then have to wait years to continue the story, but if it means asking the industry for more true sci-fi RPGs then I absolutely will.
As a wh40k fan, I have already seen an analogue of the Dark and Light Eldar, Golden Age of Humanity, Men of Iron, and most importantly - well-developed universe with interesting plot. I don’t know what the outcome will be, but so far everything looks great. I wish development team success!
Nice video. I read the book and am eagerly waiting for the sequel and any more info about the game. Just one note; The silicates are not called Demons (Dee-mons), they are Daemons (day-mons).
I'm a bit disappointed that there are not "real" aliens like in Mass Effect. For me, that was the point that I was more intrigued in the original trilogy. How the different alien civilization grew, how they interact with each other, how they work as a society, etc. In exodus, it's just "Oh, they are just humans that have evolved." At least, that's how I understand. And so far, the game seems to not have an alien companion, and that's a bit of a shame to me. Because in Mass Effect, it's through the aliens companion that we learned the world building of their species. I have specificaly in mind Tali, who we learn a lot about the quarians. I felt really engaged through the discussion her and my Shepard had through the trilogy, and I really felt engaged through her loyalty mission in the third game. From what we know about Exodus, these aliens is shown like emotionless beings or straight up cancers. And that makes me a little sad. I heard this game will be like Mass Effect, but now, I don't know if I'll feel engaged in the story as much as in Mass Effect...
Would love you to cover more lore from the book. Not spoilers or anything but it delves into the organization of the crown celestials and we meet representatives of the heretic dynasty and the telloch-te dominion.
One thing that has rarely been done well since Mass Effect is a space game with real aliens. I really hope all these other races aren't just evolved humans, please give us some true aliens.
They are just evolved humans although that's kind of a close-minded and kind of dumb approach to this if you actually read the science most legitimate scientists do not believe there's any life in our galaxy your idea of aliens is wrong and they're not just evolved humans they're genetically engineered super people who have 40,000 years of artificial genetic evolution you need for aliens outside of yourself is very immature
Just a couple corrections I wanted to add. The Crown Dominion are Imperial Celestials. Humans didn’t arrive to the Centauri Cluster until 16,000AD which means they have been evolving for about 20,000 years not 40,000. Bears were previously used as medics but were changed into deadly soldiers. It’s still possible that they are used as medics but I think this is an important detail because it shows just how much humanity can morph life just to suit their own needs. We were told that we would get awakened companions, so no need for speculating. Also Gideon is Juns half brother. This was a good video, but what I find funny is that there is still so much more Lore in the books.
I still wish we could name our character. We're supposed to be in hiding after a coup so using our real name is idiotic. And I wish we knew more about ship weapons, space combat, ships in general and how the nature of space travel effects interstellar warfare. I'm sure I've mentioned in comments on other videos that never getting playable ship combat in the Shepard trilogy was one of my biggest disappointments, and that I think the Tempest from Andromeda being unarmed was absurd. IMO only an idiot would want a deep space exploration ship to be unarmed in a setting like Mass Effect. And using an unarmed ship for interstellar exploration would be even stupider in Exodus due to travel times. Years, decades, or centuries gives plenty of time for a hostile force to move into a destination system, or take control of your home system
This explanation of Exodus lore is by far my favorite in the Citadel !

This is basically Mass Effect + All Tomorrows + Dune
Exactly, All Tomorrows. Glad someone mentioned it.
Good video, hyped for this game as a Mass Effect fan 😎
More Exodus! Hype meter at maximum. I’ve been enjoying the audiobook quite a bit.

The Elohim Celestials remind me of the Jardaan from Andromeda
The video I needed thanks for the explanation chief!
Btw I wish you a happy holiday season 🎄
I’ve never heard of this property before. And yet here I stand. Becoming the Traveler.
OMG I loved the lore you have provided in the video!
now im hyped to see more gameplay hopefully will be released soon!
Evil mutant humans verses ordinary humans. Basically Add in uplifted animals.
Yes and no - I doubt all Celestials are evil bastards, but the Mara Yama? For sure 😂
for the majority of the Celestials, ordinary humans are like ants

I can't wait for this, hyped for it already
It has huge potential, i'll say that
That it does, we appreciate Dan and yourself diving into this for us
I’m looking forward to know more about this story.

I look forward to the day that you have a Traveller helm next to your N7 one.
I'm currently reading the novel and already so engrossed in this! I love that it draws a lot from Dune not going to lie.
What's the name of the novel?
@@jerzupit’s called Exodus: The Archimedes Engine

It’s shocking how built up the lore is already!
The Mara Yama are just the Cabal from Destiny smushed together like the celestial centipede lol
Just a couple corrections I wanted to add.

Just give me an Awakened Cheat and we'll be good. An Awakened Great White Shark is asking for too much.
I'm optimistic for this one.
I gotta be honest, I feel some type of way with them using one of the sacred names of God to label one of the celestial races.
It would be kinda cool to have an awakened as a mount.
I'm Commander Shepard... and this game is my favorite Mass Efect successor on the Citadel

Cover the celestials and the awakened as much as possible. 🎉
Let's just hope the gauntlet doesn't talk
I would like a deep dive into the companions. I, regretfully, don't know much about this game and it has my interest.
I have little to no excitement for the game, but I cannot wait for Hesea (second book) to come out.
"two men walk into a bar..."
You forget to mention C.C. Orlev :P
Whole time I thought this was a Mass Effect sequel 😮
Is this PC, console or both? Can't find it on steam to wishlist it.
PS5, Xbox Series S and PC
@Captainmubz I guess its not on steam yet. Been looking for it so I can wishlist it.
@@JW-fm2cy no release date and the only gameplay shown has been Pre-Alpha footage. Don't think it's close to being able to wishlist yet.
Find a Lord British reference anywhere? :) .
not seeing awakened dogs yet.
Alright alright alright
Does this video spoil the book? I’m asking, because I’m reading it atm. 😅
Nope, i tried my best not to include stuff from the book, aside from the Archimedes Engine itself
@@MrHulthen Got it, thank you!
How's the book? Any good?
@@loremasterxp3635 I‘m halfway through and it’s absolutely fantastic!
I just wish they don't fumble it.
40,000 years you say? hmmmm
Not the first comment definitely.
Edit: I definitely needed more Exodus Lore, thanks.
