The story and the universe was written by an amazing SciFi author, Peter F. Hamilton. One of my favorites with some amazing books and series the last 20+ years. The first book in a duology set in the same universe was released a couple of weeks ago. It has some of the same characters, but set in a different time. It's called "Archimedes Engine" and it was really good. Some great concepts, tech, lore and characters. I'm ready for this game.
Not exactly correct with the first sentence since it takes away from the studio and devs. Peter F. Hamilton was invited to help them work on THEIR universe, since it is very much the studios baby, with the added power house backing of Peter F. Hamilton as a co-writer and he's definitely helped flesh out multitude of aspects about the lore, technology and universe in the game script and his books. I look forward to reading or listening to the book(s) to get even more hyped about this universe and game.
I agree. This looks good. Some people will have qualms because the studio is associated with WOTC and they feel I would say disappointed in WOTC because of the layoffs of Larian affiliated staff there and the end of Larian's relationship with WOTC. So I expect some fans will be wary about the game and the studio but we shall see as it will be a while before this game comes out. With the failure of starfield and a new ME game being years away if it ever gets completed at all there is a void there for a space SP rpg and this game could fill that.
I'm psyched for this game and happy that some of my favorite RPG channels will be covering it. The story and lore seem both unique and captivating, and the presentation has managed to evoke Mass Effect levels of emotion already.
For some reason Australia doesn't get access to the book until mid December, so I'm making do with watching every opinion and scrap of info I can. Really glad you're covering this game. It honestly looks like the Andromeda we SHOULD have gotten.
I’ll be cautiously waiting. People said the same thing for Sci-fi Horror with Calisto Protocol because the og devs of Dead Space made it, an that wasn’t received well and was forgotten quickly. Hasbro/WOTC being involved also keeps me from being optimistic. I would love to be wrong.

Fun fact for you Wolfheart. This game is made by James Ohlen and a bunch of devs who worked with him on BG1, BG2, and probably SWTOR! And yeah, this is one of the game studios that Wizards has set up for themselves. It's an exciting game development pedigree. I am curious about this game too.
Lord Wolfheart! I have been covering this game nonstop for almost a year on my channel; I am looking forward to it greatly! You should read the book The Archimedes Engine! It is fantastic and gives you a great introduction to the setting!
People keep pointing to Interstellar, but as a long-time Matthew fan, I can assure you that he had earlier scifi and space science roles that made him a good fit. First, he was in Contact. Second, he was in Magnificent Desolation. Matthew had already cemented himself as a space science guy before Interstellar. He also established himself as an excellent voice actor in Kubo and the Two Strings, as well as with his Buster Moon character. So, he's not just a celebrity plant.
The book is like one massive chess game, where every character is a piece strategically moved across a grand board. Each action and alliance feels like a calculated play, with moves and counter-moves building toward something huge. It’s fascinating how every piece has a purpose, and some seem to be sacrificed for a bigger plan we can barely see yet. Just like chess, it’s thrilling to see who’s really in control and where the next move will lead! I can’t WAIT for the next book.
I hope this will be good so much. I seriously need my Mass Effect and Expanse itches to be scratched and it has been a longass overdue. Space needs to finally have a big comeback in gaming.
The decisions will determine the consequences. No game has yet fully revealed this concept. This is not a marketing ploy, this is an awesome concept that is revealed by 10% out of 100%. All developers beat around the bush, make a SIMILARITY of consequences, in fact it all comes down to two or three “results” with a different shell, regardless of the player’s choice.
I am always skeptical since just games nowadays literally could flop or go well. But my main hope that the devs really hammer in the diverse situation like in the OG Mass Effect did. The Krogan, Turian, Salarian, were very alien in appearence, cultures, and backgrounds with the companions chiming in about them. Wrex, Garrus, Mordin, all were identifyable from mannerisms, and dialogue.
I kinda love that they used Supermassive Black Hole. Unexpected. I would have expected only original instrumentals. But this song could make for some really cool video showcases with cutscenes and whatnot, once we have the footage. HASBRO? I... did not know that. But hey, I stand by the fact that the original 07 Transformers movie was great, and MLP: Friendship is Magic was also genuinely good, though for an obviously different audience. If they share some of those creators with Archetype, that'd be nice.
That cinematic story telling made me think Mass Effect, then you mentioned Bioware employees and everything just made sense. I'm definitely keeping my eye on this one.
I don’t think it’s a problem having celebrities in games, if the role is something they’re a good fit for. Like, I don’t even think of Johnny as being Keanu when I’m in CP’77.
Thanks for the video, Wolf! I'm always interested in Sci-Fi games and will keep an eye on this one! I just hope Exodus' developers take lessons (both good and bad) from games that have come out the last few years and learn from them.
I like that it is kinda mass effect-y BUT with the time dilation twist it can build up very interesting story arcs, which also adds to the replay value imo. Really hope this turns out well, would be a great addition to the somewhat barren action sci-fi rpg genre. Fun-fact: with the gameplay trailer, some people didn't like the song choice but the cluster you will call home actually has a black hole ;D

This really looks and feels, like an Andromeda reboot outside of the ME Universe, of course. They're basically saying to BW: this is how you should've done it. As a sidenote: Elohim is a term from the Old Testament referring to God but it's actually a plural form.
I'm definitely hopeful about this one. It's always cool when the game world really feels like it existed before I started playing. Like BioWare did a lot of world building for Mass Effect and Dragon Age and From made a big investment in that for Elden Ring. Obviously, I'd like to see how the game plays but I'm more understanding of the cost of a comprehensive gameplay preview these days.

James Ohlen is very "choices=consequence" oriented. Maybe olldfashioned, but gaming industry needs more gamedevs like James Ohlen and Swen Vincke. Those old-fashioned gentlemen. You can see in every single work where he was a Creative Director how much every game cared about granting players different choices. This time-dilation sci-fi lore speaks to my soul. Outside of that, another chosen-one story, pretty Mass-Effect like. Maybe here we could find the imagination Mass Effect Andromeda was sorely lacking.
Since i am one of the few people that enjoyed and finished Andromeda three times, this should be something to look forward to. Heh just read the BG1 and 2 involvement from the developers involved, that does excite me a lot.
Given who's on the dev team I'm pretty confident in Exodus having a great story, characters and world building as long as Hasbro stay hand off. I'm really curious how the gameplay is going to look, I'm expecting similarities to Mass Effect but I wonder how similar or different it'll be.
Nice cutscenes but gameplay shows that mech is made for punching instead of holding a futuristic firearm which comes off as strange for a futuristic space game.
Sounds like it may finally be a new IP that wasn't written for toddlers, unlike all the Disney/Marvel general audience infected stuff, both old and new, of the last few years. One can hope.
The sci fi RPG is the genre I would love Larian to eventually explore. Having played quite a few in my decades and years + gaming (53yo) that would give me wet dreams 😂
I’m torn. One the one hand, the gameplay and cinematics don’t really signal ”exceptional” to me. On the other hand, the names working on this game have an insane collective set of credits, really some of the best Sci-Fi & Fantasy games ever made. I’m left feeling cautiously optimistic.
Huge ME Andromeda vibes, and I'm not sure how I feel about the "time dilation" situation. It's going to either be a gimmick and barely used, or so aggressive that it damages the story. Definitely not sold yet on it, I see warning signs.
To me it adds intrigue. Yes you can choose to save everything by flying far away but you will lose everyone you know. Game sounds good cautiously optimistic
Mass Effect left a hole in my heart that needs to be filled
And it may be filled seeing who is a creative direction of Exodus.

Given who's on the dev team I'm pretty confident in Exodus having a great story, characters and world building as long as Hasbro stay hand off. I'm really curious how the gameplay is going to look, I'm expecting similarities to Mass Effect but I wonder how similar or different it'll be.
Peter F. Hamilton is writing two books set in this world. He's a top notch sci-fi author.
Awesome
that 16 seconds is all we need!
Nice cutscenes but gameplay shows that mech is made for punching instead of holding a futuristic firearm which comes off as strange for a futuristic space game.
I'm on the fence, but cautiously hopeful. We could use a quality space-fantasy RPG with good characters and story.
It's crazy that CC Orlev has more interested than anything Bioware could put out today...and I have no idea who he is!
This looks really cool. The book sounds interesting too, maybe I'll get around to it soon
Looks good 'If it ever actually comes out'
I cant be hyped with only 15 seconds of gameplay. I will wait for more.
soon as i heard bioware im excited. kotor was one of my favs
Sounds like it may finally be a new IP that wasn't written for toddlers, unlike all the Disney/Marvel general audience infected stuff, both old and new, of the last few years. One can hope.
The muse song that plays on twilight gave some weird vibes 😂😂
Im keeping my eye on this one, but ill be cautiously optimistic.
This sounds like a very promising Sci Fi game, I’ll be keeping my eye on this game.
The sci fi RPG is the genre I would love Larian to eventually explore. Having played quite a few in my decades and years + gaming (53yo) that would give me wet dreams 😂
I feel like they might
I’m torn. One the one hand, the gameplay and cinematics don’t really signal ”exceptional” to me. On the other hand, the names working on this game have an insane collective set of credits, really some of the best Sci-Fi & Fantasy games ever made. I’m left feeling cautiously optimistic.
Exodus Carnivore will let us feel decades of guilt over the consumption of bacon and pulled pork.
It does look good..lol
Keeping an eye on this! Great vid, keep up the good work! ;)
Thanks much Borg!
Can't wait to see it in 2030 with Elder Scrolls 6.
This sounds fucking awesome! I can't wait!
The book is on Audible! :) Going to listen to it this week.
Awesome hem!
