When the sun goes down, it makes a big difference compared to just my lamp. I will be looking into the LED board now too.

I Highly recommend glue dots. The micro dots work best in my pen. I can diamond paint for days without having to change the glue dots. I will never go back to wax again. I know you would love it.
I cannot and refuse to.live without my lighted tip pen! It's been such a great tool to use in the dark, comfortable in my hand and I have like 8 of them in every colour lol
New subscriber l love diamond painting and crafting in general, I love my light pad , it was a game changer for me, as was a thicker angled pen, I use white blu-tac instead of wax, I just find that so much better and means I do not have to keep refilling my pen up so much, great video

I ordered the bigger one by mistake and it's great. My daughter and I sometimes dp at the same time and this is a great size for that!
Nice, Heather!! Let me know what you think of the pen. :) I may have to invest in a big light pad one day - no more turning my canvases every which way! :)

I have an lap top easel. It has adjustable feet and easily goes from my recliner to my bed. One side raises up and you have a flat side that doesn’t move. Perfect for sitting containers of drills.
I think so because my bed is adjustable and has heat and massage. The 2 dogs like the heat but they aren’t crazy about the massage part. I’m not either but it didn’t cost any extra I got the at a clearance sale last summer so I got a really good price.
My #1 has to be my light pad, followed closely by my PaddyWaxx; both types. I have a medium and a large hand held row straighteners that I use to start my first rows up against, that otherwise; the rows would be all wonky. Then use them about every 5 rows or so to straighten up the drills to make it look better. Other than that, I have a table that the top flips up or down that I keep all my extra accessories on; so that my work space is just my easel, diamond painting and light board. I don't like to feel all crammed in with stuff in my work area. Loved your video.
Thanks, Tina!! I don't own a straightener, but it sound like an awesome tool that would be useful to me for sure! :) And how nice to have some storage in your table - that rocks!
Great list! I have most of them. I need to get a couple more pens as I like to switch them up so my hands cramp less. I have RA which can make diamond painting difficult at times. I found my cover minders on my fridge...a set of four pretty blue circles with magnets on them from the Dollar Store.
I am obsessed with Bluetack. I use it to stick finished and unfinished designs on vacant walls, while I decide which one to do next, and while figuring how to frame them on a budget. Just be careful on unsticking them, and you can use them over and over.
Hi, Lisa!! Thank you! I think as long as it's comfy to hold, a square or maybe even triangular pen could be fun! It certainly would solve the problem of them rolling off the table. :)

Hi, Coral! Thanks! I am soon going to be needing a magnifier I think - the old eyes aren't what they used to be! That super sticky is tricky to find for sure. I hope some more will come out soon! :)
If you go right now, Paddywaxx has one tin of the super sticky tins left on Etsy! I managed to purchase one just this morning as I've been trying to catch it too.
Tiny Worlds of Wonder i got one in a storage kit from amazon. it’s basically a larger version of the white trays with the funnel. it’s really helpful for the storage containers that it came with because the funnel fits just inside of the opening
You helped me spend some money last week and the LED light pad is the best tool so far. I also couldn't resist purchasing a pen from Jim's Handmade Pens.
I just use a piece of clear tape to hold back my paper, it works and it's cheap. I just started my first Diamond painting tonight. When I ordered it, I thought it would be the squares and it ended up being the rounds. Which is easier, the rounds or the squares?
Nice tip! I think it's kind of a toss-up. Squares are a bit slower and more fiddly, but I actually think rounds are harder to get straight. Both are very doable and have a great effect!
@@tinyworldsofwonder I completed my first project an 11 x 11" canvas. I found the rounds not difficult at all. It was very simple for me to do and the whole picture was done in a week, a lot less time than I thought it would take. 😃
I have the same easel, but I cut up cardboard boxes and taped about 8” wide strips to the sides and top of the easel so that much larger canvases can be supported. I think it takes some experimenting to find the perfect pen and technique. I know that some people who have difficulty with pens find the "eggs" more comfortable. That might be a third option to try. :)
Definitely my easel and PaddyWaxx! You can work with bigger paintings on an easel by rolling the bottom around a rolled up towel , this way you don't have to turn the painting itself. I hope this isn't too vague, it's quite hard to explain without pictures :P
I can't live without straighteners for round drills. I use both the pen end while I'm working and the one that looks like an ice scraper when I have finished a piece.
I'm new to diamond painting and am wondering about the size of the light pad. If I'm doing a larger (11x14) painting, is it much easier to have the A3 light pad as opposed to the A4 (which is much less expensive), or is it easy enough to move the larger canvas around on the smaller light pad?
Excellent question! I have been making do with the A4 for years, but if I had it to do over again and I had the funds available, the larger one would definitely be easier to work with. I can move my canvas around, but I sometimes have to get quite creative with binder clips to make that work! :)
I basically have or have on order everything on your list. One thing that I find extremely helpful, that wasn't on your list, is a good storage system for loose drills. I recently started using the Darice (Elizabeth Ward) storage system and love it! The containers hold quite a bit of drills depending on which size you have and they stay closed well. I had some smaller pop open containers that don't always stay closed so this was huge because I have curious kitties that like to "help" me diamond paint.
Tara Wagner That is very well said - may or may not. 😀 it seems like every time I check the link I get a different answer. Such is life during Covid I guess! 😀
Ok I'm commenting again haha the list of items I use constantly and wouldn't want to live without: 1. My storage case, it's the large one that zippers and has the bottles. This storage kit is amazing and allows me to travel back and forth to work with my canvas. 2. My large drill trays. I have a habit of buying very large canvases and the little trays just dont do it for me haha. I do large sections and need the wiggle room! 3.this is a big one but my crafting wicker storage unit. I keep all of my diamond painting and cross stitch items in it. It allows me to tuck away my stash comfortably and safely
Hi Jessica! Great video with excellent ideas of tools to make DPing even more fun than it is already. Would appreciate a video on different storage solutions for actively working with projects and leftover drills as well. I have some but I'm looking for more ideas. TIA! 😀
@@tinyworldsofwonder you're welcome and thank you! I went to PaddyWaxx Etsy Shop and bought the Witchy collection (rounds) and the NY Cheesecake chunk. So excited to trash the pink crappy ones and get the good stuff!
Silvia Baeza Hi, Silvia!! These are in a shop called PaddyWaxx on Etsy. The owner lists things a few times a day but they sell out fast, so I have to check often. 😀
one thing i can’t live without (minus what was mentioned) is an extra large drill boat. the small ones never seemed to hold enough drills for the sections i work on, having one that is far to big is something i prefer.
Never done this before though I have done cross stitch and a great many other crafts. Wondering about the pen you recommended. With no experience I am wondering what you would recommend in regards to the options he offers. Three or four bump and what you would recommend for the second tip. He has many options, three placer, 6 placer, 9 placer, 3 straightener, 6 straightener.....??? Looks like yours are 3 placer pen tip for the second tip. Would love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks in advance.
Hi, Trystan! I love the three bump because too many ridges drive me a little nutty, and I feel like it fits my short-but-meaty hands pretty well. LOL! If you're going for one multi-placer tip and you're a new diamond painter, the 3 placer is the easiest and most versatile to master. Once you get the hang of this, moving to the six and nine placers is much easier. I hope that helps!
Large boat for drills as I can't shake enough drills in the small boats that come with kits. I've discovered quake hold museum puddy and it lasts soooooo ridiculously long for me instead of pink wax. My 4 slotted tray for boats to keep frequently used colors out at one time.
I love it! I think I need to get some of the multi-slotted trays next. Do you have a favorite source for your big boats? I haven't found one yet that is as smooth on the bottom as I would like. The drills sort of get stuck on some 3D printed trays I've used and don't slide well.
Tiny Worlds of Wonder I agree with you on the boats. My3ddesigns is hit or miss in my experience of getting three trays and only one has worked for me so I'm done there. My problem is the drills not shaking well with too many pooling in the bottom or side. That's the problem I've had with Archer Arts. My3ddesigns isn't smooth enough. It's super frustrating but at least I ended up with ONE boat I like using lol.
I love using my 8/10 placer as a double multiplacer - ie 3 drills on one side and 2 on the other and then one on the single placer - get to do 3 areas instead of just one :)
I know that this is an old video but I just came across it and i would like to add a portable power or charger block to it for your light tablet can’t live without don’t have to worry about cords very much that way
Hi there! I have the 8 1/2 by 11, and I find it works well for canvases up to about 60 cm with some repositioning. If you're routinely doing big canvases and your budget allows, I would definitely recommend going larger. In fact, I would go as big as your budget allows either way! ;)
i have that easel it still causes me pain i have to raise it up some how i have the same exact one when i clicked the link it said "you purchased this on blah blah blah" i think i need another table IDK what to do i cant sit there too long .. ! on another note i LOVEE the SSPW !!!! omggggggggggggggggggggg
Shoot!! That sucks! :( I did find that my neck pain got better when I got a new kitchen table that is higher than my old one - I think it gives me the right height to rest my arms. I am sorry that you are struggling with this! It is miserable. :(
@@wintrykiss Or a chair that can go lower. I have started using an easel similar to the one in the video and it definitely helps except when I need to work near the top or middle - then I need a taller chair. I also love the Paddywaxx and was just able to order SSPW today for the first time. I'm looking forward to it arriving.
@@candicejackson7474 i tried putting the chair down then my knees/legs have issues i have really bad knees that need replacing but there are extenuating circumstances so they wont do it ... idk what to do i work for as long as i can and then when im in pain i get up
@@wintrykiss Oh dear! Then a higher table might be the better option. Have you looked into one of those sit/stand adjustable tables? That would give you the most options with your easel. I hope that you are able to find something that helps you be comfortable and be able to enjoy diamond painting for longer.
One thing I can't live without is thise diamond painting tic tac container because im verry messy when it comes to DP also you can replace the pink wax with blue tac I find it better than the oink wax.
Hi there! 😀 I popped a link in the description. It looks like there may be some supply chain issues at play, but I bet it will come back into stock at some point.
Hi, Flowers! The button has a magnet attached to the back side, along with a second to place behind your canvas. Separate the two magnets and place the front one with the button attached on the top of the canvas and the second one on the back side to hold your cover back. :)
Nancy Yeager Oh no!!! I’m sorry! I have heard of people putting patches on the back side or using a low-heat iron-on interfacing from the back. I would say duct tape, but I don’t know how that would hold up over time. 😢
Besides all you **fav needs**, mine is a 4 placer. I can keep my drills super straight and pretty. I find that larger placers do not give you the straight lines this DPer demands.
I have a thick pen because of my arthritis. The ones that come with kits is just to small for me. Bigger ones are so much more comfortable! My daughter has same easel I got hers from Amazon! I use a drafting table which I love so so much. Oh god who wants to live without PaddyWaxx??! The scents are just to awesome! I have an A2 that someone sent me for my birthday!
Ooh, awesome! I think I have seen your drafting table during your lives. That would be so handy!! Someday when I have a dedicated space I hope to switch to one. :)
I can't imagine not having my light board. It is so much better than having to use an overhead light and a magnifier.I prefer to do larger diamond paintings and would be lost without the 2 flat easels I have!
thank you! Would you suggest anything similar to Paddywaxx? I'm from Italy and the shipping fees are much more expensive than the wax itself (I don't want to make a big purchase right now since I don't know the product and if I will use it in the future). At the moment I use Patafix, which should be similar to the BluTak someone talked about in the comments, just from another brand that's easier to find here in Italy, and I like it much more than the hideous pink wax from the kit :D I bought two A3 lightpads (one for me and one for my mother, who's addicted to DP too!) from a chain store called Action here in Italy, they are cheap (20€ each) and work wonderfully! About trays: I am in love with a very simple white medium one that came with a kit. I have a larger one but I find it difficult to align the drills into rows with it. I bought another tray, but purple-colored because I hate using the white one when I work with white drills, I can't see them and it's so frustrating... I have to experiment with pens as well. I bought a LED one from Aliexpress and I HATED it, I found it totally useless since it doesn't light the exact point but just the whereabouts. The lightpad is so much better for me. I prefer a cheap acrylic pen, from Aliexpress as well, that I use with the stainless steel placer and multiplacer (I love the 5 one, it's a good compromise between the 3 and the bigger ones). I also use the tiny pens from the kits, but with the soft foamy cap that make them much more comfortable.
A great list of tools! I have heard great things about the putty from Randa's Crafty Corner on Etsy, but I don't know if she ships to Europe or how much it would cost. It might be worth checking? I have also heard of people using a product called "Quake Hold" putty or the adhesive dots used in paper crafting, but I haven't tried either myself. Blu tack is the next best thing in my experience! :) (I wonder if it would be possible to scent it yourself?)
One more thing I forgot to mention. Get yourselves an basic office hydraulic chair-nothing fancy-one that is easy to adjust the height up and down as you are sitting working . Working on an easel, as you get to the bottom of the canvas, lower the chair so you don’t have to bend over the work so much. Your neck, back and shoulders will thank you! Go to an office supply store and try some out-don’t just buy online without knowing if it is comfortable for you.
Hi, Renee! I know that Robyn is having a hard time keeping up with the demand for this right now, and it sells out almost as fast as she can put it up! :( I suggest trying back often to see if you can catch some. I know many are having similar difficulties. :(
@@tinyworldsofwonder oh boy im confused i thought you are Robyn that makes the paddywaxx haha i finally got some SSPW and i love it omg i can barely get the drills off but i saw someone on YT said put it down and pull it to the top right corner off the pen and that works great !!

Great answers, Tricia! I need to check out the stainless tips now that I've heard so many good things about them. Your cookie sheet idea is brilliant!
Absolutely!! Great containers are a must-have, and the Darice ones are really nice. :)
Just looked on Amazon from the link you have for the easel and it may or may not be available again.
Tara Wagner That is very well said - may or may not. 😀 it seems like every time I check the link I get a different answer. Such is life during Covid I guess! 😀
Ok I'm commenting again haha the list of items I use constantly and wouldn't want to live without:
It allows me to tuck away my stash comfortably and safely
oddsandendswithlove Those are awesome tips! 😀❤️
Hi Jessica! Great video with excellent ideas of tools to make DPing even more fun than it is already. Would appreciate a video on different storage solutions for actively working with projects and leftover drills as well. I have some but I'm looking for more ideas. TIA! 😀
Linnea The Crafting Trooper I am so glad you enjoyed!! I will start thinking on that - it’s a great suggestion. 😀
@@tinyworldsofwonder you're welcome and thank you! I went to PaddyWaxx Etsy Shop and bought the Witchy collection (rounds) and the NY Cheesecake chunk. So excited to trash the pink crappy ones and get the good stuff!
Linnea The Crafting Trooper Ooh, exciting!!
Where do you buy those paddy wax blocks.
Silvia Baeza Hi, Silvia!! These are in a shop called PaddyWaxx on Etsy. The owner lists things a few times a day but they sell out fast, so I have to check often. 😀
I love my tilting drafting table my Elizabeth warden storage boxes my diamond painting pen I made and my comfortable chair and my a3 light pad
Awesome!! A drafting table is on my wish list when I get a work space of my own. :)
one thing i can’t live without (minus what was mentioned) is an extra large drill boat. the small ones never seemed to hold enough drills for the sections i work on, having one that is far to big is something i prefer.
Yeeeesssss!! Vital!
I m addicted :)) to pappywaxx ❤️❤️❤️
Oh my goodness - me too!! I keep finding it in random pockets every time I change clothes. 🤣
I got my wooden easel at hobby lobby
I love using my 8/10 placer as a double multiplacer - ie 3 drills on one side and 2 on the other and then one on the single placer - get to do 3 areas instead of just one :)
That is really kind of brilliant, Stacy!!
@@tinyworldsofwonder I'll try to post a video on Instagram soon :) It's so much easier :)
I know that this is an old video but I just came across it and i would like to add a portable power or charger block to it for your light tablet can’t live without don’t have to worry about cords very much that way
That's a great one!
When is patty wax coming back
I heard this coming Monday, but Robyn's Etsy shop may list an updated schedule. :)
What size is good to buy for a light pad?
@@tinyworldsofwonder yep thats what i need a higher table !
Hi. Does Joann ship internationally? It seems that a lot of the stores in America do not.
Magical Dreamer I don’t know, Magical. 😥 International shipping from the US is so dreadfully expensive.
@@tinyworldsofwonder I know but this country does not seem to cater for DP.
One thing I can't live without is thise diamond painting tic tac container because im verry messy when it comes to DP also you can replace the pink wax with blue tac I find it better than the oink wax.
I just got my first set of these, and I'm really impressed! :) Thanks for sharing!!
Where are the links etc. that you refer to below? Where are they?
Hi, Therese! On mobile, click the little down arrow next to the title, and the description should pop down. :)
Quick question where could I get that exact easel?
And how big do I need to get it
Hi there! 😀 I popped a link in the description. It looks like there may be some supply chain issues at play, but I bet it will come back into stock at some point.
My Artsy Twin Studio DP pen, my A2 light pad, drafting table, white tacky puddy
Great list!! I think a drafting table is in my future when these darn kids vacate my craft room. LOL!
I have a question I h ave pictures one side the I cannot see the the letter and the number
Oh no! Have you contacted the seller to let them know there is an issue? Sometimes they will make it right. 😢
Is any thing I can or use
@@robinmoak5564 A light pad can sometimes help, but other than that, I'm not sure. :( If the printing is illegible that is really tricky.
@@tinyworldsofwonder I don’t know who the seller is
@@robinmoak5564 Shoot! I am so sorry this is happening to you. 😢
Maybe or walmart I seen them
Where did you say you got the diamond painting pen?
Keri Ellson See the links in the description. 😀
I don't see it sorry
Keri Ellson Weird! Jim’s Handmade Pens on Etsy and Artsy Twin Studios on Etsy. 😀
Wish you would have shown us how you use the 2 buttons.
Hi, Flowers! The button has a magnet attached to the back side, along with a second to place behind your canvas. Separate the two magnets and place the front one with the button attached on the top of the canvas and the second one on the back side to hold your cover back. :)
Lmaoo.. When you said " please share so I can get it too " .. good vibes
Ha ha!!! I am always looking to be enabled! :)
HELP!! I am a beginner and I cut my canvas when I cut the cover paper into smaller sections. What can I do to fix the canvas??
Nancy Yeager Oh no!!! I’m sorry! I have heard of people putting patches on the back side or using a low-heat iron-on interfacing from the back. I would say duct tape, but I don’t know how that would hold up over time. 😢
@@tinyworldsofwonder I wonder if Mrs Crochet and Coffee would be able to answer the question about repairing canvases?
I keep my drills in medicine boxes from the dollar tree. Labeled with paper tape.
That is a great tip!
And that’s a much cheaper alternative for anyone not wanting to pay for storage cases
Where can i buy a easle in South Africa please
Louisetta Schmidt I’m not sure, but hopefully another viewer can chime in and help us. 😀
@@tinyworldsofwonder Thanx
Besides all you **fav needs**, mine is a 4 placer. I can keep my drills super straight and pretty. I find that larger placers do not give you the straight lines this DPer demands.
Nice! I have yet to get a 4 placer, but I agree - straight drills matter! :) I just can't be happy with wonky drills.
looking forward to getting square and round rulers
Tiny handed person here! Yeah those pink pens hurt us too 😂
🤣🤣🤣
I have a thick pen because of my arthritis. The ones that come with kits is just to small for me. Bigger ones are so much more comfortable! My daughter has same easel I got hers from Amazon! I use a drafting table which I love so so much. Oh god who wants to live without PaddyWaxx??! The scents are just to awesome! I have an A2 that someone sent me for my birthday!
Ooh, awesome! I think I have seen your drafting table during your lives. That would be so handy!! Someday when I have a dedicated space I hope to switch to one. :)
It makes life so much easier. I don’t lift it anymore since I have started filming just because it’s easier but may change it up at some point
You crack me up. I play the piano and have tiny baby hands! Life is hard!! 😂
The struggle is real!! 😂
@@tinyworldsofwonder 🤦🏻♀️
I can't imagine not having my light board. It is so much better than having to use an overhead light and a magnifier.I prefer to do larger diamond paintings and would be lost without the 2 flat easels I have!
Would you mind to send me photos of your flat easel.please ...will have to get somebody to make me one
@@louisettaschmidt1208 I can't figure out how to show you a pic here.I bought mine from Michaels.Just go to their site and do a search.😀

@@tinyworldsofwonder I will don’t worry
Light pad.. atleast 3A
Good wax
Big & couple of trays
Nice pen with Elbow drill tips
Bottle of water
Strictly DP..TH-camrs livechats on videos only 😁
Nice!! That is a great list!
Sorry. What is a pen with Elbow drill tips and how is it used? Thanks for helping.
thank you! Would you suggest anything similar to Paddywaxx? I'm from Italy and the shipping fees are much more expensive than the wax itself (I don't want to make a big purchase right now since I don't know the product and if I will use it in the future). At the moment I use Patafix, which should be similar to the BluTak someone talked about in the comments, just from another brand that's easier to find here in Italy, and I like it much more than the hideous pink wax from the kit :D
I bought two A3 lightpads (one for me and one for my mother, who's addicted to DP too!) from a chain store called Action here in Italy, they are cheap (20€ each) and work wonderfully!
That is a marvelous idea! :)
Harbor freight storage boxes
I've heard those are awesome!!
Hey I can't ever find any super sticky Patty Wax. Can you tell
Me how I can get some please. Than you
I love Patty wax very good

Me too, Nicole! It is the best!! I love my Jessica's Garden scent (of course) and my Pear and Cedar in particular. :)
