Best thing I've found for removing sticker glues is orange oil (just plain essential oil). You can often get it in a larger bottle for cleaning supplies, and it does a *much* better job of dissolving glue than isopropal alcohol does. It's usually safe to use on plastics - but of course test it out first on a small area to make sure before you use it extensively.
Ok..that pill bottle with change is brilliant. Ive never gotten a drill grinder because I've heard they can make worse. What I use that's not on your list: a cheap wooden rolling pin. When I'm finished with a piece, my final step is to roll over the whole thing to make sure all the drills are down. Makes a nice sound too
I recently bought a small lap desk designed for a computer.for another purpose. Part of the top tilts up. I now use it for canvas 40*40 and smaller. No more sore neck or back
Brayer to really smoosh in my drills after I complete a large section or if I notice a lot of popping. Release paper (the clear plastic covers sound funny and make my brain itch) and along with that, a ceramic blade pen to cut them into smaller sections without running the risk of cutting through the canvas (ask me if I’ve done that….)
@@catebobate1188 lol I had to look up what a ceramic blade pen was. I use a exato knife. I haven't cut a canvas yet. I have years of art classes though and years of working on canvases. I can't stand the plastic either. I also use painting tape to flaten the canvas, and don't lol. But eyelash qutips, to clean out the pen tips. I just remove the fluff and use the plastic part. (I do my own nails, thier perfect for cuticle clean up, and 1$ on temu for a large bag of them.) I know leave it to a artist to use weird stuff. I also have a skinny metal ruler, that I lay down on the extra sticky and it keeps my drills lined up perfectly, until I finish the edges.
I am laughing my butt off right now I'm kitting down amd struggling with the sticky paper and I was just about to get up to get the goo gone when you said not to lol
All great tips. I do not use the DMC chart yet. I save all my drills and use the dmc number provided on the grid or just match it to others in my stash.
I mix my leftover drills in a Tupperware container and my daughter uses them as decorative filler for various crafts. It's never actually occurred to me to hoard them lol
Great must haves! I also have a norwex optic scarf that I use to shine up the drills in each section as I complete it. I keep the scarf under my hand so it’s not resting on drills I already placed. A 2 in 1 handy item.
New here thanks for the putty and wax tips. Question I have the glue dots bottle but don’t know how to use it if or one or two drills that won’t stick.
Hi and thanks for asking! Make sure that you are letting it dry for at least a few minutes before trying to stick the drills down! I use a pair of the sharp tweezers (held closed) and just put a little dot down on the one or two spots I need it on. I hope that helps! Let me know if that didn't answer your question!
All great tips useful tips, great having all the info in place instead of having to search it or by trial and error. Thk u. I just purchased the diamond dots stick, it will arrive Friday. As always a super vidéo 🍂🍁🎃
Thank you so much for a terrific video! You mentioned a few things that I haven't seen before which is great! I'm having trouble finding Diamond Painting Daily, do you have a link by any chance?
They are different sizes, but the colors are all based on the DMC color code so a drill that is 939 should be the same color in round or square. The thing that might make them different would be the dye lot could be very slightly off. Also, acrylic drills tend to miss the mark for DMC color pretty often.
Tysm for the great tips. Question: What is the benefit to upgrading your wax? Or maybe a better question is what is wrong with the wax that comes with the kit?
@LexieMichelle The issue I was having with the red wax is that (because I'm a very hard placer), I would have to replace the wax very quickly. With putty I don't have to! Also, when placing ABs they would pull the wax right out of the single or multi placer. When I use The Ghost or putty, they don't do that. But if the red wax works for you, keep using it!
Hi Lexie, nothing is wrong with with pink wax, I still use it.. I prefer putty , tryin to find one that agrees with my climate. I think its all personal preference :)
Did you ever remember the DMC color chart book that you mentioned? I’ve been searching for a chart that helps substitute colors when converting a HAED pattern to Diamond painting.
I got the one that I use on Amazon, but you can also get one from ArtDot on their website and save 10% on your total purchase using code NAO10! www.artdot.com Otherwise this is the one I got on Amazon -- a.co/d/4D0JIPU
Hi there~ Do you save your diamonds after completion if so what's your method to the madness ? Lol !! I want to just throw em out, but I can't bring myself to do that !!
@@raspberry77 I do save them! I use a card box (like you would use with baseball cards) with separators that have the DMC number on them. I combine bags together (unless there is a glaring color discrepancy) into one for squares and one for rounds. I have had multiple occasions where I have needed the spare drills for stuff!

I always have clear tape. Not all dimond painting kits come with sticker charts. That Measuring tape is too cute.
