Wow
For anyone practicing this: 2:44 John's part 3:24 Paul's part
Hero
You are a great singer, teacher, and musician! You have captured the spirit of The Beatles.
Thank you!
We've been recording Beatles songs every few months for the past year, and I sing all the vocals. I come to you first Galeazzo and thanks much for starting me in the right direction.
Galeazo your voice is so beautiful, I think you improved this song, I can't say it by a word. You're amazing. Keep up the good work
True, when I sing lennon part I feel such a wibe when I go down to the 3rd note in the 2nd part of chorus. Such a special vocal combination. Genious!
Galeazzo you are the best!!!! Your breakdown of the vocals of these songs is nothing short of amazing.
Grazie da Sydney Australia!
You have contributed so much to those of us who love the Beatles and who are harmony-impaired! Now I know what I am hearing-- and how to sing the parts! And I admire the Beatles infinitely more, understanding their inspired and complicated harmonies. And you Galeazzo--you sound so much like them, you are the Fifth Beatle! Or rather, all the Beatles. You are incredibly talented and driven. Thank you!
Your videos make me really happy.
One of the best youtube sites. Thank you Galeazzo!
Excellent stuff as always.
I'm part of a Discord server called Beatles Server Sings and we use your videos to help with practicing and recording vocal parts! Thanks for making these :))
Splendid work! Cheers mate!
Galeazzo, thank you for your AMAZING work! I am an American high school teacher, studying the song as I prepare a research paper on it, to share with my students as a sample or example for them to follow. So your video has been invaluable to me.
As I watch your video, listen to the original recording, and study the score from “The Complete Scores” (where you actually helped me find an error in the middle eight!), I wondered if the arrangement John and Paul are singing goes like this.
1. pre-chorus (“Hold me, love me,” etc.): John melody, Paul HIGH harmony ABOVE John. Agree with all the notes you sing, and which singer you match them with.
2. chorus (“I ain’t got nothing but love,” etc.): John melody, Paul LOW harmony BELOW John. I agree with all the notes you sing, but I think John and Paul’s parts are reversed.
3. middle eight (“Eight days a week, I love you,” etc.): John melody, Paul LOW harmony BELOW John. As with the chorus, I agree with all the notes you sing, but I think John and Paul’s parts are reversed.
It is hard to distinguish Paul’s low harmony parts, especially in the middle eight, as he sings louder sometimes than others. But if you listen to John’s voice and try to block out Paul’s, I think you hear him carrying the melody all the way, the melody being the high part in both the chorus and the middle eight.
By the way, the transcription error you helped me identify is on pp. 241-242 of the English-language edition of "The Beatles Complete Scores." The last three sets of notes on the vocal staff on p. 241 are transcribed as
melody: E E F#
harmony: A A B
but they should be
melody: E E F#
harmony: G# G# A
And the first set of notes on p. 242 is transcribed as
melody: E
harmony: A
but it should be
melody: E
harmony: G#
I was able to figure that out from watching your video.
Again, amazing work, and thanks so much. I looked at the “Paperback Writer” harmony video and plan to look at others after I finish this paper. You are incredibly talented and incredibly kind to share your gift with the world-sharing the joy of the Beatles’ music.
Cheers,
Jack

Thank you Galeazzo! Great work!!!!
Absolutely love all of your videos :)
Bravo Galeazzo!
Molto bene. Grazie millie, amico!
Amazing!
Galeazzo great work on all of these vocals that I've seen from you. I've listened intently to John and Paul's harmonies for what... 50 plus years and next to them you are the best. Why don't you put out a DVD with some of these great harmonies that might help with your financing the projects. I'd buy one. I've been meaning to look see if you do Yes It Is ....that's one of their great mystery harmonies in my mind anyway....George has such a non melodic part....again great work if need a bass player I'm here.....
Tão gostoso quanto ouvir os Beatles. Muito bom. Parabéns.

Very nice
La voz baja de Lennon es de una melodía increible
Amazing work! You also sound and look a bit like Paul! 😊
Thank you!
I would love to know how this breaks down such as who is singing say the 3rd, the fifth etc or whichever part they were singing. Great vids and great voice man!
+Eric Davidson For the bridge, on "Eight days a week..." John is singing the root of the A chord (A), and Paul is singing the 5th (E). Then John alternates between the root (B) and b7th (A) of the B minor chord for "loooooooooove." Paul alternates between the 4th (E) and b3rd of that chord. For the little run at the end of that phrase ("...oooove you"), John moves root-b7th-5th (B-A-F#) over the B minor chord, and Paul moves 4th-b3rd-root (E-F#-B).
For the E chord (second "Eight days a week..."), John sings the 3rd (G#), and Paul sings the root (E). For the G chord that follows ("... is not enough to"), John alternates between the 3rd and 2nd (B and A), and Paul alternates between the 6th and 5th (E and D). For the final line ("...show I care.") over the A7 chord, John sings the 3rd (C#) and 5th (E). Paul sings the 5th (E) and b7th (G).
On the "Hold me, love me" bit, John sings the 5th and b3rd of the Bm chord (F# and D) for "Hold me" and then the 6th and the 3rd of the G chord (E and B) for "Love me." The next hold me is a repeat of the Bm chord, and for the final "love me," he sings the root and 5th of the E chord (E and B).
Paul sings the b7th and 5th of the Bm chord (A and F#) on "hold me" and then the root and 5th of the G chord (G and D). For the second "love me," he sings the major 3rd and root of the E chord (G# and E).
+beagleguitar Thats an amazing break down! Thanks so much for taking the time to explain!!! Really enjoy your videos, thanks!
Bravisssssimo
Love the channel and the videos!Question: would you say that the vocal harmonies in this song are usually separated by a 3rd interval? How woukd you describe Beatles vocal harmonies in general; are they usually 3rds, 5ths or a variety of intervals? I tend to harmonize in 3rds for whatever reason. Thank you.
Excellent =)
Brilliant as always. Is there somewhere I can look up the actual notes your sing for both John and Paul's part?
Shared your channel on Tom Kell's Facebook page!
Thank you!
Cool
Great lesson. Thank you. :-)
Thank you, thank you, thank you for providing these amazing lessons. Do you take requests? Is there any chance you could break down the harmonies on I'll Never Find naother You by The Seekers?
Anyone have a recommendation for mac software to record with? I'd like to try singing these parts and play them all together at some point. Throw in some guitar too. Thanks much Jon
Thank you Gale, still waiting for the Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, hope it will happen in my lifetime. A new request:
"Sun King".
Hi its coming SK is already done check it out!
What key were you singing? I cant sing the original one because it was way too high for me. I just transpose them to "A" Key.
I run out of wind singing John's part and have trouble hitting the high ...guess you "know" it's true. spots. Can I adjust my breathing somehow to allow me to hit this spot?
Master (:
Can you please do , " your mother should know" by The Beatles ??
@The Beatles Vocal Harmony Does George have a part in this song?
Is there a way me and you could like talk individualy i really want to know you. Your the best teacher ever i wanna do a duet
I'm getting a lot out of your videos. I sing and play guitar and bass. I wish you would do the bass part to the Beatles songs. I grew up during the Beatles era and I feel those of us that did got to see and hear the best band that ever was, and now they are no more. I love it when you say Ciao. My wife is part Italian and her grandpa and his brother and some others were full Italian, so I get all that wonderful Italian cooking that is SOOOOoooo good. Have you ever done The Beach Boys Harmony. Think about it. Ciao
***** Glad to know about Italians worldwide! I have done Barbre Anne going to post it in a few weeks :) Grazoe
Hi Gale your are great as always! Are you planing to do I´m looking through you?
Wonderful! Quali effetti usi per la voce?
Isn’t there a 3rd voice in the chorus performed by George?
Is glisato and glissando the same thing?
Hi
I really enjoyed your Beatles videos. My friends and I are all in our early fifties. We have committed to sing some Beatles songs at a birthday party. None of us are trained singers. Do you have any tips or material that might help us do it as well as possible?
Cheers
Practice, practice, practice...
Good on you for doing this. I have only one thing to add, if you want to get the real "John Lennon" guitar sound, he used to de-tune hid D string slightly... Anyway it's just my 2 cents worth, as they say around here. I used to be in a Beatles tribute band too and I was lucky enough to play in Liverpool Beatles festival in the year of 2002, just after George's passing. It was fantastic standing on the same stage as the "fab four". Although, they moved the Cavern in the 1970's it still looks like it used to.
Dragan Stojanovic how do you know he used to detune his d string slightly?
I am working on this one with my band. I sing the high harmony and I'm having a little trouble getting it right. Could you tell me what note Paul is singing on the first "hold" in the "hold me, love me" part?
Thanks
A 4
Hey Galeazzo, great video! Who is your favourite Beatle? :)
It says that George sang on it?
good afternoon Galeazzo,Could you make a vocal tutorial for Everly Brother's song All i have to do..is dream? I cant find no such stuff, I need, i adore this song,Thanks in advance!
I am preparing this and Katy's Clown :)
Great work !! Galeazzo I have a question. In the verses is it John's voice double tracked?? Or is it John and Paul singing in unison?? I only hear John in the verses and other people hear John & Paul. Help !!!!!!!!!
+kanuk93 It's John and Paul at unison!
+The Beatles Vocal Harmony Galeazzo,Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
I only hear john in the verses as if he was double tracked
John is double tracked through the whole song, Paul sings strategically during verses and throughout the refrain. When it sounds like you're only hearing John, it's because you're only hearing John.
The only time I hear Paul in the verses is in the last verse, his accent comes through on the "every dayyy girrrl" bit. Other than that, I'm inclined to think it's John double tracked with Paul harmonizing on the refrains and the bridge.
This is a Lutier sensational
The high "eight days a week" in 3:41 is also John, no?
That parts is sang in unison by John and Paul Marcio :)
The Beatles Vocal Harmony Ah, nice! Thanks! :)
The Beatles Vocal Harmony You should read up on phase issues during recording. You're having a lot of hit.
Heltflippad Not sure what you mean :)
The Beatles Vocal Harmony Yeah I figured. But search for audio phase here on youtube and do some research on it. It will help your vocals sit much tighter in the mix.
Excellent work, Sir. But did not even mention about the so called "double recorded" voice of John in the verse. I'll bet 100 $ that Paul also sings in unison, albeit a little more distant to the microphone, in spite of what Lewisohn and McDonald write in their books. On the other hand, it was recently shown that the almost identical vocal timber in the contemporary "Every Little Girl" is actually a unison voices of the two guys (there, an educated ear can sometimes distinguish the nasal voice of Paul, e.g. at 1:00). Last but not least, both the songs are Macca's only.
The verse is John and Paul singing in unison indeed :)
Does Paul sing the same note as John in the VERSE? So is John's voice gettin doubled?
Yes!
Senior G..... do you also provide keyboard accompaniment for the Beatles songs or or other songs? My plan is to sing and play KB accompaniment. Can you provide both training. I have a Roland Ax Synth and later I will add the Roland Integra 7 (its pricey so it will take sometime to save for it). I am willing to work with you and also donate. How are we going to do this? tnx Ed
Thanks a lot for your donation! No I don't sorry! But there are some piano video tutorials in this channel check them out!
Have you ever tried some Everly Brothers harmonies?
Not yet! I am thinking about it!
Galeazzo sei italiano???
Can you do me a favor? Could you teach on how to sing You Can't Do That? I am recording an album and this would be a great help! The Beatles Vocal Harmony
