Once I wondered how two guys like McCartney and Lennon found each other in Liverpool. Now I wonder how you two guys found each other in Bologna.
I often found myself wonderng the same thing and consider I had a bandmate in the 80ies (Massimo Raitano) who was infinitely more "a Lennon" much more than him.

@@TheBeatlesVocalHarmony I had a friend who was very much like John whereas I was like Paul, he only knew 3 chords but was great as writing lyrics whereas I had more musical knowledge as more strength.
We both wrote lyrics and music though. Cheers!

Jopidia you can improve your high range by singing softly. Pretend you are singing a baby to sleep. After doing this for a few weeks or months, you will realize that you have accidentally tapped into your falseto head voice. I found that "Till There Was You", "I Will", and "Martha My Dear" were perfect for this training!

I have never heard a harmony being split before. This was so interesting and informative, and the singing is lovely.
I'm confused as to what you mean, harmonies are always split, it requires 2 different notes at the same time to be a harmony.

I feel Lennon's part is the most difficult for me as well. I think it's because Paul's part is volume-dominant in the mix and since his part is what I've heard out front since the song came out it's hard to break that habit of hearing it as the lead melody.
Bob Wags. Your ear will always pick out the highs first. Its a natural human response. To train your ear , you have to block out the high notes and focus on the lows. Thats how you train your ear.
@@tallmn1957 Spot on, I've said similar on the other tutorial video. I've played this song for years, playing accompaniment on piano. All the time I've done Paul's vocal (totally at the limit of my range in the original key). The sheet music I have has Paul's melody (I can read enough music to see that) and, as you say, it also comes across more in the mix also so that's always sounded right. However, since watching these superb videos I can see how it was done now. Kudos to these videos and both these guys are really talented singers!

You've given me such a deeper appreciation of my all time favorite band's music. I knew they had made an impact in music and picked up on a lot of nuances as a kid that I have not heard up to this day. I STILL hear a lot of Beatles influence in today's music. It's great that someone with your music education and talent has been able articulate them so accurately and bring them to light for all of today's (and maybe tomorrow's) musicians to hear, understand and appreciate. This song was heartbreaking when I first heard it, when I was just 4 years old. It remains one of my very favorite John and Paul songs. Through the years I have learned the harmonies, which are quite natural but complex for lots of people. You guys do a great service to this song. Both of you have fantastic voices and both of you have "nailed" the harmonies. You have provided an amazing exercise for anyone who wants to discover the absolute bliss of harmonizing and presented us listeners with a beautiful and accurate version of the song, stripped down from the multi-tracked vocals, bounced from 3 channels into 1. Both of your voices are beautiful and resonate perfectly. Thanks for posting! Keep up the good work and please post more of your beautiful singing!
You guys are great. If I Fell is one of my favorites. While it seems simple, it is musically complex and as a kid when I started playing guitar back in the early sixties, I always thought about how they did that song since John starts it off with his baritone and the lead was out of his range. I would later get the answer from John himself years later when I lived two blocks from him and Yoko while I was going to NYU. (He lived at 105 Bank Steet and I at 300 W. 12th.)
It was new to me back in 71 but now everyone knows it was just the two of them on one mike, switching back and forth from lead to harmony because the lead was out of John's range. And yes, everything changed after 1966 and we know why. That is a subject I knew never to discuss so I never did. He had the right to simply be another New Yorker and that is the way all the West Village locals treated him......and why he loved Manhattan and never wanted to return to his native England. New York really became his home. But the music...ah....the music. He would always be happy to talk about that.

Frudua's ability to analyse and decompose the music harmonies which are inextricably intertwined is uncanny. A superior musical brain. The clear voices of the two Italians blend beautifully. Watching this, is what always got me nervous to sing it. And also, when i watch this two guys explaining how to singing, in my musician opinion or whatever.. I must say: the Beatles was the best!. They sing it. They wrote it, and how old were they? A hard days night John has 23 years old. Paul 22 years old. But see what they do so quickly and easy.
I made a mistake. John had 22 years old. He was born in 10/09/1940. Please please me was released in 03/22/1963. Paul had 20 years old ( 06/18/1942)

It's funny to watch people 40 years later finding songs "unbelievable" or "harmonic".
If you tune any radio station today, you will find 10% of the same effort put into a given song, at best.
And then we see those X-factor kinda things and them judges, who know NOTHING about music, harmony, tempo say that some guy has a talent.
There's nothing more gratifying than singing in sweet harmony!

+The Beatles Vocal Harmony I think Paul's voice is more difficult at the execution,because of the effort that takes hitting such high vocals. But here, in my opinión, John's part is harder. Alittle ,but if you shave off his mustache,he actually has John Lennon features.You should take a look at their appearance on an Italian TV show back in 2008.They were called the VERGAS, and Danilo(his name) looks like the 1963 version of John to the tee!

I haven't said this before but thank you so much Galeazzo for doing all these videos. You have an amazing voice and a fantastic ear for all those complex harmonies the Beatles did. I also love harmonies in music and these have furthered my own understanding of the dynamics of harmony, both in improvised harmonies to songs on the radio to songs I've written myself. Also, all the people you work and sing with sound great, too; there must be some great talent over there in Italy! I have some Italian heritage myself, from a small town outside of Pescara, though I'm mainly Finnish and Irish. I would love to donate but I live on a small pension from the government due to health problems, but I wanted to make sure you knew how much your videos were appreciated. I especially love the "Here Comes The Sun" and "Rain" ones and came to this one after watching those others. I learnt how to sing harmony from my mum and she loves picking apart the harmonies and watching your channel, too. Grazie! ~~Riina K.
I am a music lover but not a musician and have always been fascinated by vocal harmony. I am 67 and have been trying to figure out Beatle harmonies since Love Me Do. This video has cracked the code and reveals why my analysis has been in vain. It is obvious that it is more complex than 1 high vocal part and one low part.
