The first two episodes started off a little slow as they fought for aprons. That being said, I can still appreciate the diversity. We have the top 15 and a competition now! I'm enjoying this! Much love to you all from the United States!
The judges seem depressed! Its like they don't even really want to do this job - no enthusiasm. Great contestants though but brought down by dull judges.
I totally agree. This is the worse master chef of all those I have seen from several different countries. The judges are completely humorless and have no welcoming spirit. It is as if they are there in flesh only and dislike the contestants. Where is the warmth the smiles? Even when they are pleased with the contestants their demeanor is the same as when displeased!
I think the contestants are just as dull and boring as the judges. They seem like they’re half asleep like they don’t care if they win or lose. No energy like on Masterchef US orMasterchef Canada. Plus on Masterchef Canada you get the added benefit of looking at Chef Claudio.
Very different from US master chef where the contestants give the image of being confident Michelin level chefs rather than home cooks. These cooks they showing the shaking hands and everything. It’s also interesting on the different ingredients used. A lot more fish and peas used in other countries than the US.
This has the same series concept as the Australian MasterChef (unlike the UK version). I have to say that the judges on the Australian series are much more encouraging than these 2 judges. I think they seem to forget that they are not professional chefs but home cooks!!

I actually like the judges, im surprised at the food the contestants are cooking just looking at some of those dishes i was like what are you thinking.
If you’re just going to get rid of a quarter of the competitors in the first proper episode, what was the point of giving out 16 aprons in the first place?
The answer because you don't have TH-cam plus and I've tried it within without because I do not have an internet connection at home only data and unlimited data on my phone so I have worked through the ads the subscription price in the United States where I live in Ohio is 1199 per month and I thought it was very good because it applied to two of my phones for the same price with the ability to download. So funny to me, as someone from United States of ‘Murca, to see how much offal is utilized in UK cuisine. Our Latino and South Asian communities use it, but it’s just not something you commonly see in restaurants otherwise.
Oh my goodness!! I am a HUGE Masterchef fan - I watch the UK; US; Australia and New Zealand versions but I will NOT be watching the Ireland version. Not pleasant to watch! Get rid of those awful judges and bring on some happier kinder people who are a pleasure to watch! Like John and Greg - UK - or the 3 Australian male judges! The comment about the garnish on the older mans dish being phallic is distasteful, cruel and total nonsense - he was so embarrassed it made for cringeworthy viewing. Who do these judges think they are! He deserves a public televised apology! Ireland has a wealth of culinary gems and delicious cuisine. These judges are representing Ireland on a global stage. This is sad.
I dont view the judges as negative at all. They give straight honest feedback. There's nothing wrong with that. Would you want one of the contestants to win and open up a restaurant where bland dishes are served??? I dont think you would. Appreciate the judges and their honest in quality dishes.
Totally with you Carrin. These judges are a buzzkill for any viewer and their comments are 95% negative. Why not judge a dish on its merits as well? No wonder that contestant (the 61-year-old chap) said he wasn't keen on returning. He's mature enough to know how insulting the judges were.
@@simonhill1590 I'd love to see how compassionate you are on merit when you get a $60 bill for a subpar dish at a restaurant from one of these contestants.
