Harris has always done something which no one ever has done on TV before, and that's saying what he feels is true. He got in a feud with Ferrari, and others, but that hasn't stopped him from calling a spade, a spade, and for me, that's what automotive journalism is all about.
He's a total lad with the articulacy of a doctorate, I wouldn't be surprised if he had one.

You'd think Michelin would love Chris, considering how many of them he turns into smoke.
Big companies don't like people who criticize them...even if said person owns 37 of their products. Plus CH doesn't mince words and in today's society of PC culture anything can be found offensive by someone somewhere. The world needs more people like CH who don't bullshit around and can laugh the themselves imo.
Really respect Chris Harris' evaluation of cars because he looks at it with a real world view and articulates that well.

You know that a petrol head is a real petrol head when you ask him what is your top 3 cars of the year? the answer involves in some way a 25.000€ car...it is not about money and HPs, it is about the joy.
Chris is legend, but Jack is underrated. Together they work very well.
I don't think Jack enjoys working with Harris. Harris is just too impatient for him and Jack knows it.
I think Jack would make an excellent presenter for Top Gear’s main show.

There was definite tension there in past, I agree. It felt like Jack didn’t have Chris’ respect and was insecure in his company. It seems to have settled, though I doubt they’re sharing a pint off camera.
Lads make these weekly. I'm fed up of asking for more of these every time Jack and Chris have their chats!

I think the Nissan 400Z & the new Lotus. I’d throw the new Z06 in there as well but I think those are a little further down the road

I agree with Chris regarding tires. James (MrJWW) also said that he thinks the 765LT outperforms its tires. I don't know why in the world McLaren insists in using trofeo R instead of pilot sport cup 2 R tires.
MeJWW also has a partnership with Michelin, so hardly objective.

@@MoJo-2977 absolutely no, Daytona SP3 is a car part of the ICONA series, a special series that Ferrari does to homage old 50s 60s Ferraris and they costs millions.

>100k = M4/M3
101k-200k = GT3
201k-300k = STO

I'm so glad Chris opened with that analogy about "laptops in 1992" - so true and I've been thinking that for years. Pioneer days are not the time to buy a new technology as the development half-life is so short. I'm sure it's quite a common thought. Anyway, leave it to Chris to call a spade a spade and not play into the car industry's marketing hype 👍

I Turo’d a Tesla Model 3. Me and the gf had a nice weekend day trip from the SF Bay Area to Carmel and back; 200 miles in one day. The car was wonderful, no complaints. I’d buy or lease one if I had to drive to work daily.
Saw both of them this weekend (Porsche GT3 and Lamborghini STO) at Main Line Cars and Coffee! The Philly Main Line is hard to beat for Supercar spotting!
I have gotten to drive the EQS and it is brilliant. I prefer it over the new S class.
Anything Chris Harris related is superb

Just bought an i20, so much fun!
Samme here i20n. This or alternatively GR Yaris are the ones to buy right now in my opinion. Petrol, manual gear, light weight and nimble. This is what you will miss in a couple of years when the average car is electric and and small hot hatches are a thing of the past. I'm very happy that I managed to get one while possible and that it lived up to very high expectations (after the success of i30n).
I always buy my vehicles outright, but I think if anyone is to purchase an EV the only sensible option is PCP and hand it back after the term finishes.

Chris's love for hot hatches is another reason why I'm waiting for him to test the new vw golf r mk8 , and see if it is a big change like the new 765 Lt he felt while driving.
I've already owned a mk7 but something wasn't just perfect which they fixed in mk7.5 .
I need to know if it's still worth it or I should just wait for mk9 or another hot hatch because here in the US 🇺🇸 we don't have a45s amg

Just to illustrate how wild 47,000 miles on a GT3 is;
My work van that I’ve been driving all over the state from country side to mountains through different cities and back 5 days a week for about a year and a half, is now a little over 47,000 miles.
Chris has effectively used his GT3 like a work truck.

We need to buy early versions of tech to encourage the later versions. Sure, we will have to deal with some obsolescence, but putting money into early tech is what encourages companies to develop it further. It’s about thinking long term instead of short.
Buddy, these companies are among the biggest and the richest in the world. I don't think you need to help them. You buy a product if you need it AND you like it. You have no obligation towards a corporation. Don't fall for this shit.

Range on EQC has been terrible SINCE launch. Happen to know that 1 customer was told by an MB Dealer in the UK that the awful range was "within specification" (tbf to the dealer they even checked with MB Germany as they couldn't believe there wasn't a fault with it!)
Also got this weird thing where the door cards are too big, and you can see them through the windows!

Entertaining as always but I would like two mention two aspects on electric cars that you keep repeating but they are not true for several countries out there: 1. Yes, the supercharger network is great. But no: Outside the UK this is not the USP that counts any more. Other countries have catched up in the meantime and do offer plenty alternatives outside the Tesla-world to recharge your EV. 2. Outside the UK you have in fact the choice to plug in your EV at your house and recharge with 11 or even 22 kilowatts - and not limited to the somewhat 7,x kilowatts that you have.
