What would be your pick goose? It would've been amazing if you did your top 3 in each segment (eco/small, mid, large sedan/SUV/truck,, EV, and other crap)! It might sound like too much, but your streams are 3+ hours anyways - just get enough MEATS!

I don't have disagreement with the GT3. I just think the CT5-V Blackwing deserved it more, for the courage it took to build such a car (V8, manual, RWD, balanced), and to execute it so brilliantly.
I don’t understand this statement, the best car deserves 1st place. Courage is like participation trophy
@@Xenopus123 Agree with your point. That said, both the GT3 and CT5-V Blackwing are 'Halo' cars for their respective brands and manufactured in intentionally limited quantities. Net result is that it makes the award irrelevant to anyone who would watch this channel to help decide if they should buy one. Perhaps moving forward TH should consider adding 2 basic rules: 1) Price is irrelevant... only value. 2) the vehicle must be mass-produced with no purchasing restrictions. Not necessarily on every dealer's lot, but if a person in North America walks into a dealer or goes on line and orders one, they will have nearly 100% confidence in receiving it in less than 12 months.
@@am.i.serious4284 I understand where you are coming from, I get wanting to add modifiers to make these sorts of contests more competitive for "normal" cars. If you start doing that though, you should really just rename the entire contest. It's no longer "best car" or "car of the year" at that point. Might as well rename it to "Car for normal people of the year". And there's value in doing such a contest, just be clear about what you are doing though. Another thought is perhaps these contests should just have two classes, "normal" class, and "unlimited" class.

Totally understand picking the , but the Blackwing would be my daily driver. The price and maintenance is somewhat affordable. Plus manual transmission and that glorious exhaust note.
Manual in the gt3 too, and it’s a Porsche so it’s gonna be reliable.
@@jrboostin Porsches aren't that reliable...they're decent compared to other performance brands, but they're far from perfect in that regard. At the lower end of their range an Alpine, Supra or even the lower end (2/3/4) M cars are probably more dependable. At the higher end they're probably the best, although honestly that's mostly because all the really fast stuff breaks all the time so the bar is pretty low!

But of course…water is wet, the sun is hot and the 992 GT3 is the y’ ultimate car of the year…simply flawless…and good job guys…love the channel.

Maybe next year you guys could do something like Marquess Brownlee does with “smart phone awards” where he talks about like the best things in certain categories. Like best battery, best screen etc. maybe do best handling , best styling. Just an idea !
oh no! an award for every contender is it? no no! this format is better. Not easy and will need some context, a lot of explanation, but it's simply better to have a single COTY than the armrest of the year or mud flap of year etc.
@@4g5y not like that. Main parts to focus on of a car that matter my guy. Styling, handling, biggest flop, biggest advancement in technology, best value etc, and the overall best. This way it was just mostly subjectivity. think wider than things that don’t matter like the armrest.

THROTTLE HOUSE TEAM: Its now time for the Daniel Poore's Car Show of the Year Award ( across all platforms including broadcast TV ) The winner is Throttle House. I found you guys earlier last year, and I must say, no other currently broadcast/ streamed automotive show does it better. Your cinetography is on the level of the best, you guys found the right sauce as far as teh comedy and humor of the automotive show world that the original ( by original I mean when the show returned in the modern era ) top gear cast, while not copying them directly and making the car humor style your own. I mean it, you guys do great work and as long as you keep your channel fresh and inspired I think everyone with Throttle House has a very bright future. I dont really want to purchase a streaming service to watch you, but frankly Id love to see you guys get a netflix or amazon prime show. You would absolutely nail it and with their promotional chops Throttle House will draw a much larger crowd. Anyways keep it up fellas, I greatly appreciate all your hard work and content.

If I might suggest something for next years picks perhaps you could pick some cars based on their value for dollar spent. I assume that there are other auto enthusiasts like me that can only afford one car and would like to know which cars are the best all purpose vehicles.

Just felt like a personal win when you folks named the GT3 as the car of the year. Don’t own one, but just how much I respect the Porsche brand as a consumer. I love your reviews so would like to request a review of the Porsche Cayenne GTS and if possible compare the difference between the GTS and the GTS coupe. Can’t decide which one to pick? All the cars mentioned in vdo are amazing (i love electric cars but my personal favourite car in this video is the great BMW M5 CS), but, i absolutely love and have immense respect to Thomas & James & the whole TH-team for mentioning the GOAT LFA. That car is a great timeless classic, as they say here, & supposedly the best of Japan. The 'disrespect by unacknowledgement' bcoz of not getting the recognition it deserves is huge on this legendary car. Don't believe me? Go check every EVERY review of this car. Seriously, mentioning this thing in a Car-of-the-year-2021-vdo should tip you off. TY TH.

Never a doubt of what was the car of the year to me. Porsche GT department is the best in the game, bar none. Even the Cayenne turbo GT is a marvel of engineering for what it's able to do. Now the GT3 has a double wishbone front suspension and turns in even better than before. Game changing, no. But constant evolution makes perfection.

Interesting ….you just picked one of the most amazing cars ever made ….that is selling above list and will take you almost two years to get . At least the Blackwing is within striking distance and you might get one in 6 months. Love the Porsche….but anything that is 200k plus is in hyper land for 95% of the public. Starts to make the Golf R look great. Lol You guys are great.
Just because the blackwing is easier to get, doesn't mean the car is better lol. The fact that they still crowned the gt3, all things considered, shows just how much better the car is.
I respect the decision, but I would have to say the CTV5 because of how special it is, and how special it will be down the road

The Blackwing is such a bigger swing, at a great car, than the GT3.
I love the boys from the GT group and yet all they did was add double wishbone suspension to the front of a car, that has existed for 50 years. Plus it tramlines and acts extremely nervous due to that upgrade off the track.
I lived with the car and didn’t experience any nervousness and minimal tram lining off track
991.2 better on the road
The 992 GT3 isn't even good looking.. I don't get it. This is the first GT3 I haven't thought was an attractive design.
The only reason you say that is because caddy has never made a car as excellent as blackwing since idk when, while porsche regularly make the (always positively reviewed since the last few years) gt3. So of course the improvement on the gt3 is minimal.
Just because the blackwing is more groundbreaking, especially when we're specifically talking about caddy performance car, doesn't mean that it should be better than the slowly evolving yet consistent gt3.
