    • @alistairwillock7266
      @alistairwillock7266 3 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      Jack Rix is _not_ a novice driver. No motoring journalist with over a decade of experience is. Anyone who drives all kinds of different cars in all kinds of different conditions _for a living_ is, by definition, not a novice driver. If he was a shit driver, Bugatti never signs off on that run, even with Andy riding shotgun. Of course, I can come up with quite a few names who I think would have been _better_ choices (Harris, Bovingdon, Catchpole to name three obvious ones, and Ollie Marriage is also obviously more capable from the Top Gear stable) but Jack is plenty capable enough for this task. And it made for some pretty gripping footage 🙂
      PS: To point out the absolutely obvious: a novice driver doesn't make that save 😉

    Lol i imagine some young kid in that 3 series compact looking in his rear view mirror like - "whaat?" And then "Why is he so slow?"

    The balls to ask Bugatti to take their new multi-million dollar car to the ring. The balls to give you permission to take their multi-million dollar car to the ring. The balls of actually driving a multi-million dollar car on the ring during touristenfahrten while it's raining. incredible

    Collective consciousness: It's not really possible to make a boring segment about a Chiron in which you nearly write it off in the rain and somehow still seem aloof inaccessible and pompous...

    Why are these so short of duration!? TG, make a 30-40mintues video, we would watch them with love

    “I’m sorry, but it’s not everyday you drive a Bugatti. It’s certainly not everyday you drive a Bugatti as special as the Chiron Supersport.” Thank you for the distinction. I personally tend to drive Supersports as often as I do “regular” Bugattis… Seems not to be the case for you.

    I dont know why but this body work just hits the sweet spot for me, like the proportions look just right, making the chiron looking like a proper hypercar and not a boat on land like the older versions

    I wish and want Top Gear to release the full B-roll footage they took for that very last scene/shot of the car travelling through the Ring in the mist amid those blackish woods in the dark and the wet, with a dark Chiron. It was truly a special moment to see or footage I have never come across in how aesthetically pleasing and reminiscent of dreamy imaginations of the car it is... I HOPE TOP GEAR SEES THIS COMMENT AND UPLOADS/PUBLISHES STANDALONE FOOTAGE OF THAT VERY LAST SHOT WHERE THE CREDITS WERE SHOWN! :)

    This was excellent as it shows just how useful all the hp is in the real world. Fun ≠ Hp, fun = connection with car and environment - best described by sensations of sound, acceleration, steering feel and the responsiveness to inputs. Love happens when your connection with car supercedes these tangible qualities and becomes irrational. For better or worse, this is often what happens when you drive an Alfa Romeo ;)
    I admit that love is equally a known contagion for a number of other car models from other marks. It is also almost alway a lifelong disease in the case you build your own creation.
