Perhaps it's been mentioned by now, but that "key" you were having a hard time reaching is not the main startup method on this bike. That's a hidden backup should your keyfob go missing, in order to start the bike with a PIN. The main startup "keyON" button is right below the ignition/engine start button on the right handlebar. So the reason it was frustrating for you to reach and use that button, is because it's not supposed to be used other than an emergency, and shouldn't be too visible for security reasons.
I have had one for over a year now and can agree with everything said. i'm 45 now and always had Sports bikes, 9 of them, so this was a perfect crossover bike as can still eat up my mates 600 sports bikes but really enjoy a great summers day cruising through the lanes. It is a true experience. just hope I never have to get rid of Her.
I actually went so far as to go onto google maps and find out what traffic flow is at the intersection and your direction of travel. He should have stayed on your right, instead of turning into your lane. Cop should have pulled him over.
No need to twist any knobs with the keyfob. The on/off switch is located directly under the starter button. Keep the fob in your pocket and just press the button to turn the bike on and off. After test riding numerous Ducati's I would think that you would know this already.
I rode this bike yesterday, it is insanely quick. 1. Yes, its comfortable 2. Yes, it will rip your arms off 3. The bars feel awkward but the low speed manuverability is better than most bikes i've ridden 4. Yes, it will rip your arms off 5. The red lights that border the left control buttons make an X for Xdiavel 6.This bike feels far more planted than most bikes i've ridden, a very confident feeling 7. You will be replacing the back tire at least 4 times as often as the front
You have to turn on the bike with the red button covering the starter button by pushing it down. Then pushing it up exposing the starter button. (I assume it's the same procedure as the diavel)
Chase glad you got to demo that bike. I did and i had to have one!! The ignition on and off is the right hand lock button on right lower thumb. U need to ride mine with ducati up map and termi full system. the cruise is awesome and so is the launch control... lol
Caleb, whoever said that is correct. Ever riden a two-stroke? They go like crazy but you never feel you are getting pulled like a train. A friend of mine had an Aprilia RS250 which has a two stroke 250cc V twin Suziki engine that made 60hp (for 250cc that is crazy) and the best way I can describe the feeling is that is felt like an arrow shooting through the air. Everytime you'd check the speedo after you gave it some gas you'd be doing 85+ mph but you never had any idea how it got to such speedsso quickly
Odd feeling really. Personally it seemed a bit dangerous since you never get the feeling that you should lift the throttle, so you constantly end up going like crazy. I have a KTM Duke 690 (3rd gen, 4 storke ~690cc single cyl ) which has roughly the same HP as that aprilia but 3 times the torque and on the KTM my speeds are way more composed because a touch of the throttle gives you enough torque to be happy enough and lift off. In the Aprilia you'd just be pushing harder and harder without realising the speed building up.
The proximity keys suck. I used to work at a Ducati dealership, sometimes when I went to lunch on the diavel it would go into a safety mode and would not start. I had to walk about half a mile away with the key then back and it would start again. None the less these things are beasts.
The XDiavel and the Diavel 1260 have completely different torque curves. The X has peak torque low down between 4K and 5k rpm. The Diavel 1260 has peak torque around 7k rpm, so the x has a lot more thump and low down street torque and you notice it a lot more when diving around town or even on the highway in high gears when the rpms are not being rung out.
Some notes.. Buttons are illuminated, S model is only cosmetic (paint, wheels, engine paint and machining) other than its Brembo M50 monoblocks like the 1299S. Which I think are the best motorcycle brakes made. You do not need to use the switch under the display to turn the bike on. It's only necessary when you don't have your key fob and and you start the bike with your pin code. Bike does get rowdy when you ride it hard, need to bear down on the handlebars a bit. I own one and love it, can hang with anyone I know on a sport bike 😊 Good review.
Another fantastic review Chase! This will be my next purchase, I currently ride a Ducati Streefighter 848, I rode one on the XDiavel Experience Tour and fell in love! It's like you said, it can be your only bike and have the best of both worlds, comfort and insane speed and power.
FYI, you can actually turn the bike on/off using the button on the right handle bar (one of the button below the kill switch) similar to the Diavel (slide down on the kill switch)
Watching the GoPro Session snap back from that Ducati torque is hilarious! XD On or off throttle on the Ducatis. Some people love it and it takes some skill to blend and make the riding smooth across the Ducati line up.
I believe the dealer told me it had multiple points of adjustment when I took one out for a test drive. I have the same height stats as Chase but with longer arms and the way it was set up fit me perfectly. I absolutely adore that bike but I couldn't get over the heat and price. Maybe I'll pick one up in a few years when they're a lot cheaper. The headlight wasn't my favorite either but the bike visually speaking is an upgrade from the standard diavel.
Btw the turn on and off button is right bellow the starter switch... the switch below the screen is for override if you loose you key. You get used to the legs in front after a bit. To let you know after 250 miles the seat breaks in and you sit further in and holds you in when you gun it. You can easy wheelie it.... that mirror needs replaced because mine does not do that. Further you can move the feet pegs back. Also adding the ducati windshield makes a night and day difference. Next time im up in ATL with the bike next spring Ill let you ride a broken in a xdiavel.
I definitely want more cruiser reviews on TH-cam, but I fucking HATE when sportbike riders do them. We get it, the seating position is different. Move the fuck on.
You're right! you feel like the position (which is something anyone interested in a cruiser is already affiliated with) has taken a huge part of the review leaving out much more mention worthy information about the bike.
Sam Buffington I feel like he wasn't dissing the cruiser position, he just didn't like that the distance to the handle bars was too far for him, so his arms were hyper extended and he couldn't chill.
***** are you retarded or do you just not know how to read? I never said anything about the shifting, just that he always talks about the riding position the whole video on every cruiser review he does.
+chaseontwowheels the on switch is not ment to be used to turn the bike on. Use the button under the starter button to turn Ducatis on. the switch is intended to only be used if you lose your key then the bike can be started with a pin code. You can also turn them off with the same button under the starter button.
Brilliant bike. Have mine in iceberg white and its stunning. Bad weather at the moment but im planning on many rides around the scottish highlands in 2022.
there's a course at the Honda distribution and headquarters in Alpharetta ga called advanced bike bonding where you learn how to do police style slow maneuvers on a gsp training course it's really cool, it's actually American policeman on road glides and victories and whatever else they've made into a police bike now. really cool stuff you should check it out I think you'd enjoy it and you're in that area
I don't know if this is the same on the xdiavel, but I have a regular diavel. the button under the gauge cluster isn't the only way to start the bike. When the kill switch is switched off push it further down to turn the electrics on. then switch the kill switch up to reveal the ignition then you can start it.
Yeah sadly Mount Motosports do not tell him any of that stuff. Another example is that the X Diavel S also had adjustable footpegs (it has 3 positions) so perhaps another position might have suited him better as well
Bro the one I test rode had a Termignoni exhaust on it and it was WAY louder than the stock exhaust... I seriously wanted to buy this bike just because of how good it sounded and I'm not a huge Ducati fan.
This was a great review... especially with the seating vs. foot position comments. It will be something I will be looking out for when I test ride one next spring.
Turning radius is fine. You just need to counter-steer more, look the direction you want to go, and throw down. Feels awkward the first time you ride with legs forward. You naturally want to try and take turns more upright.
Chase man I love your videos. It's really cool to see how much your work has been evolving and I really appreciate your content. Big fan of your channel man. Keep it up!!
The torque delivery is just smoother on the X. You probably weren't in Sport on the other bike. I've ridden the X and my carbon back-to-back and the powerband is about the same. Just worlds smoother with the belt drive.
You aren’t supposed to keep switching the bike off at the front of the tank you just leave it on that switch is for when you are working on it. But for daily use you leave it on because it has keyless ignition and the bike won’t turn on unless you are within 6 feet of it. So you just. Get on and hit start and leave the key in your pocket and just kill the engine and walk away and it can’t start of you aren’t on it.
Hi Chase. I really like your videos but please get someone at the shop to explain the controls to you. The button under the dash that you struggled with at the start of the video is the recovery button. To be used if you have lost your key. There is a button under the starter button which tells the bike to look for the key
Now you need to ride a Super Duke 1290 R, to compare this to. Almost the same engine size and same concept for the motor. And they both look super badass😎
Great Video, it's a nice bike yes but that half sport/ half cruiser posture does not look comfortable to me. I would imagine that for long distance rides it wouldn't rate so good.
Lol this made me laugh clearly enjoying yourself man! Motorcycles are life and will always be a passion and what truly makes me happy! Ruff day? Throttle therapy! Good day? Fun run! Dope seeing someone else enjoy throttle! Love your videos brotha keep em coming, I wanna see you out a zx10r thru it's paces thinking about ditching my gsxr for one! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Sanjeev Sharma lmao. id love to see him do all of the MV line-up... personally id like the f3.. both 675 and 800 versions... but i doubt he will ever visit a dealer with one of them...
Thanks for the video on this. I am seriously looking at the Diavel instead of the S. Don't get me wrong, this one really sweet, but I can't take the leaning forward all the time . I prefer a more upright sit on a bike when riding and this is more relaxed. My only concern is the dealer is 105 miles from my house and service would be a pain. My test ride is this weekend. But again, your first ride was great.
You don't turn it on by the screen, thats the emergency turn on switch. You turn it by flicking the kill switch down then pressing down fully untill it stops and the screen turns on.
Is it true if you are early enough my favourite youtuber will answer?? P.S chase you and yummi are my favourite motovloggers. And I loved the video it was awesome
My thoughts when the video started: "Ah wow this is a sexy bike, maybe I'll actually consider a cruiser now!?" MSRP: $2k less than an H2 "Well, never mind! Cheap, used, Japanese sport bikes it is!!"
2 kinds of people, who drove an xdiavel and not! power is so distributed nicely. on your right side of handle bar u hav ignition and power on off buttons, only thing u need is a key in ur pocket. the knob wich u were trying to turn is emergency on and off which makes you type password(if key not present) to start the bike. BAD abt the bike- passenger seat and storage options.
***** don't even get me started, I'd kill for a monster but settled for a MT-09, I was hassling you to get hold of a Thruxton R while you were hanging out with Triumph, that would be amazing, or you could put a deposit on a house here in Australia, same price and all that
You should review some Harley's like the vrod and sportster roadster! I want to see how they compare. Please check out killer creek Harley or Frazier's H-D.
Perhaps it's been mentioned by now, but that "key" you were having a hard time reaching is not the main startup method on this bike. So. Did you realize at the time that the silver Toyota Camry @ 4:17 turned from their lane into your lane and damn near took you and that bike out?
I actually went so far as to go onto google maps and find out what traffic flow is at the intersection and your direction of travel. He should have stayed on your right, instead of turning into your lane. Cop should have pulled him over.
Good eye man I didn't even notice it while riding or while editing. Glad it happened when it did!
Cooot Damn Fool Do you ride? It's also illegal to change lanes in the middle of a turn like he did.
He was behind Chase, that's why Chase didn't see it, the driver had Chase in front of him and made a lane change on a dotted center line...
Jared I think you're overreacting, there was plenty of clearance. Also, people switch lanes mid turn all the time.
I think this bike looks incredibly good looking. Also intro was best so far. Nice Music
Thanks much sir. I really enjoyed the track myself.
chaseontwowheels nice one, dude!
No need to twist any knobs with the keyfob. The on/off switch is located directly under the starter button. Keep the fob in your pocket and just press the button to turn the bike on and off. After test riding numerous Ducati's I would think that you would know this already.

Awesome bike... I've seen some diavels with the wind shield and they keep looking gorgeous and you can keep your ribs safe
Chase glad you got to demo that bike. I did and i had to have one!! The ignition on and off is the right hand lock button on right lower thumb. U need to ride mine with ducati up map and termi full system. the cruise is awesome and so is the launch control... lol
torque > horse power
All day every day and twice on Sunday!
N3wYorkKnicks If I recall, someone said you don't feel Horsepower, you feel torque. It sounds right but don't quote me on it
Caleb, whoever said that is correct. Ever riden a two-stroke? They go like crazy but you never feel you are getting pulled like a train.

Absolutely love these 1st rides man, the introduction to the bike segments are awesome, on point with the music this time and every time :D
in Italian language, pronounce Diàvel, "dee-ah-vel" :)
It means "devil" in local dialect :)
ScarponiQddm dipende
Love Bikerz you are Pilipino
Saluti

that thing is a monster, diavel looks are polarizing, people either love the look or hate it, but damn they got mean AF torque
I bought one a month ago after testing it out. Will be my main bike
The XDiavel and the Diavel 1260 have completely different torque curves. The X has peak torque low down between 4K and 5k rpm. one of my dream bikes. I love speed and power, but I love the look of cruisers.
Your edits and camera work never fail to impress me.
Congrats on another great video my man!
Would love to see a first ride of the Victory Octane.
Another fantastic review Chase! This will be my next purchase, I currently ride a Ducati Streefighter 848, I rode one on the XDiavel Experience Tour and fell in love! It's like you said, it can be your only bike and have the best of both worlds, comfort and insane speed and power.

I love the XDiavel S .. It looks stunning
Gandalf m8 Stunning? That's a understatement
Gandalf m8 This is one of the most beautiful bikes I've ever seen. Holy cow.
Can't believe you didn't try the launch control. My eyes would have lit up like Christmas
Chase, That car at 4:16 almost wiped you out. Almost turned into a crash video. Watch out out there man, Awesome Videos!
dream bike right there
Watching the GoPro Session snap back from that Ducati torque is hilarious! XD On or off throttle on the Ducatis. Some people love it and it takes some skill to blend and make the riding smooth across the Ducati line up.
i just drove one today !! and i have to say the torque is freaking balls hard !!! much better than the old diavel !!! btw excellent intro! !!!
best cinematic ever in my whole life very well done man
I believe the dealer told me it had multiple points of adjustment when I took one out for a test drive. I have the same height stats as Chase but with longer arms and the way it was set up fit me perfectly.

That mirror is driving me insane. Soo triggering 😡😩😂. Great review. Thinking about picking one up next year.

A good friend of mine bought one and loves it !
One of your best intros yet!!
I love these first rides man, especially when it's my dream bike😍😍😍😍
you don't need to use the button under the dash to start it!!
YESSS! Been waiting for this review ! My fav bike. Waited 48 years to be able to get a bike of this caliber. Love mi e
at 9:10 i watched that with a huge smile on my face. that is the pure sound of enjoyment right there! thanks for the great review.
there's a course at the Honda distribution and headquarters in Alpharetta ga called advanced bike bonding where you learn how to do police style slow maneuvers on a gsp training course it's really cool, it's actually American policeman on road glides and victories and whatever else they've made into a police bike now. really cool stuff you should check it out I think you'd enjoy it and you're in that area

I REALLY dig that dash. So clean looking man!
"The front wheel just doesn't care.." This was funny... This whole episode was entertaining.
It's pronounced dee ya vel.
Review the Vulcan S already. Make sure it's in the orange color to.
havent seen him have this much fun on a bike in a while
Love your highway enthusiasm. Great stuff!
This was a great review... especially with the seating vs. foot position comments. It will be something I will be looking out for when I test ride one next spring.

Where did you get the passanger backrest from the bike is on point...
it comes with the bike.
Chase man I love your videos. It's really cool to see how much your work has been evolving and I really appreciate your content. Big fan of your channel man. Keep it up!!
the only issue I have with this channel is how long these beauty shots take.

after watching Resident evil vendetta I immediately search for this bike!
Anyone catch that car that merged into Chase at 4:27? The cop did nothing?! 10 feet back and this first ride doesn't go so well.
WHAT a beautiful machine. There's my dream bike. 👌🏼
Hi Chase. I really like your videos but please get someone at the shop to explain the controls to you. The button under the dash that you struggled with at the start of the video is the recovery button. To be used if you have lost your key. There is a button under the starter button which tells the bike to look for the key
Have you ever test drove a triumph rocket 3 roadster? It would be dope to see you ride it.
First time in this channel but u r genuinely best ! :)
Now you need to ride a Super Duke 1290 R, to compare this to. Almost the same engine size and same concept for the motor. And they both look super badass😎
"The wind is blowing me off this bike but lets put it on cruise control and let go of the handlebars."
My butt clenched just watching that.
Great review!!!.Would you consider doing a review on the ducati Hypermotard 939...I think the dirt bike look with super engine is a dope concept
With that much torque. I have to buy it. I'd like to see you try a Suzuki M109R and see how the torque and power compare to the Diavel.
I'd love to see that too. I have a 109 and test rode the XDiavel. Fell in love!
Or an old MT-01 (2005/2006). I don't know when Yamaha was thinking when they made a 1600cc naked V twin with 110.7lb/ft of torque at just 3750rpms.
If you could get your hands on one! I'd love to see a first ride on a MV Agusta Brutale dragster 800rr
Ohh yes I was waiting for this day to come!
Great Video, it's a nice bike yes but that half sport/ half cruiser posture does not look comfortable to me. I would imagine that for long distance rides it wouldn't rate so good.
u shoulda had the foot pegs moved to a better position before you tried it. u can have it moved to 3 different positions you know.
Chase, i think you would enjoy the harley davidson night rod special, harley definatly did a good job on the engine to wheel torque
Great video, Chase! I always enjoy your intros -I think this time you forgot to stabilize it?-. This bike is insane tho!
dude i jst saw ur monster review and was bout to say to review the diavel and there it is you're physic man 🙈
If you want a more aggressive sport riding position on a cruza....use the passenger foot pegs?
hey chase you are best one request can you do first ride on mv agusta f4 ?
Sanjeev Sharma lmao. id love to see him do all of the MV line-up... personally id like the f3.. both 675 and 800 versions... but i doubt he will ever visit a dealer with one of them...
Please do an MV Agusta F4 RR. I can only imagine how good the opening shot would be, judging by how you did justice to this beautiful xDiavel! :)
So when you doing a first ride of the MV Agusta Brutale 800 Dragster RR ;)))
Thanks for the video on this. I am seriously looking at the Diavel instead of the S. Don't get me wrong, this one really sweet, but I can't take the leaning forward all the time . Yes cruisery is now a word people. Great review as always!
A great riding/handling bike. Needs more color options though.
My thoughts when the video started: "Ah wow this is a sexy bike, maybe I'll actually consider a cruiser now!?"
MSRP: $2k less than an H2
"Well, never mind! Cheap, used, Japanese sport bikes it is!!"
i just fell in love, i think i want a new bike now😂

A dream bike right there
I love how excited you get when you take off lmao
That looks beastly. I dont even like cruiser looking bikes. but it looks like a sports bike thats 50% naked bike had a baby with a cruiser.
Wow amazing video and bike
Looks like something out of Batman XD
My friend has one of those he said can I ride the R6 you have for a day and I was like yea but can I have yours
And he was like yea I got happy af
You need to go easy on the bleach man.
and I do hope you tried launch control once.. just to see what it did.
Great review;-) When it wheelied i laughed so hard
My dream/goal bike 🤤😍
Just imagine if you were on a 1200 monster, same same engine but gorgeous monster body
+TheOzTurkish we are talking about bike goals with that kind of information

don't even get me started, I'd kill for a monster but settled for a MT-09, I was hassling you to get hold of a Thruxton R while you were hanging out with Triumph, that would be amazing, or you could put a deposit on a house here in Australia, same price and all that
I love my little monster 900 ;P
You should review some Harley's like the vrod and sportster roadster! I want to see how they compare. Please check out killer creek Harley or Frazier's H-D.
