Summary: 1. Bone Structure: Achieving the holo cheek/ogee curve look requires two things: a wide gonion and prominent cheek bones. When I say prominent cheekbones, I don’t necessarily mean high cheekbones (Johnny Depp has low cheek bones but had holo cheeks when he was young). Rather, your cheek bones must be laterally outward facing (most peoples cheekbones grow forwards). In addition to this, your gonion needs to be wide. If I remember correctly, it’s ideal for your gonial width to be 95% of your bizygomatic (cheekbone) width. These two things must come together in order to achieve the holo cheek look, since the lateral growth will stretch the skin over a larger surface area. Moreover, your ogee curve will also vary depending on how high your cheek bones are and how long your ramus is. The further away your gonion and cheek bones are from each high other, the longer your ogee curve will be (“long” ogee curves give top models that gaunt look that’s so desired in the industry). One last thing to note: the ogee curve look is NOT the same as holo cheeks. The prerequisites for holo cheeks are the same for the ogee curve, plus severe starvation so the cheek contour is exaggerated. 2. Leanness: The more defined your bone structure, the more visible it will be at higher body fat percentages. However, leanness is still a priority for the model look and is where you should start first (lose weight to see what your baseline is). It’s important to note that your weight loss should be gradual. If you severely cut your calories to the point of borderline starvation, not only will you plateau but you will more sickly than attractive. Be controlled with your weight loss. Also, spot reduction is not possible; in order to lose weight in your face, you have to lose weight overall (the face is one of the last places where fat is lost, so you must stay consistent). As Qoves said, while you mean be lean, you still may not look gaunt because of youthful buccal fat. Most people tend to lose that fat as they grow older (see young Zoe Kravitz compared to now), so if you’re young and lean, it’s best to just wait it out and ensure you aren’t messing up your trajectory. To go above and beyond, buy a silk pillow case and develop the habit of sleeping on your back and not your side, mew, eat a hard diet (organic foods not processed), take collagen supplements over a lifetime (look for for supplants that Qoves studio plans on releasing in the future), and consider buying an ice pack for your eyes and using it every morning to minimize puffiness). Good Luck (feel free to correct me if I made any mistakes).
P.S. Don’t expect your ogee curve to always be visible if you have it (at least not to the extent of models). Models suck in their cheeks a little, drink plenty of water, are in a good lighting, and have their photos edited before being published. Also, be very realistic with your expectations. While environment is very important and there is plenty you can do, recognize that genetics also play a roll. Your peak will not look like someone else’s peak. Perhaps even after following all of these steps, you still may not have the ogee curve look, but you will certainly look much more attractive than where you started.
Another important thing to mention is that it also has to do with fat distribution. Some people can put on weight and stay relatively lean in their face and other people can lose weight and their face is the last place where they'll lose fat.
This is literally me, my face gains weight first. I went from 22% to 9% bodyfat and my fave was the last thing to change. I’ve always been lean but corona made me eat lol. I still had a 6pack at 22% but insane lovehandles and a face that looked like a giant egg
@@taamallahdhia5070 You can still have a disproportional amount of bodyfat while being underweight or normal weight. It might mean that your musculature is under developed from lack of training ( aka skinny fat). I wouldn't recommend you to loose any more weight though since 70kg at 5'11 is the lower limit for your size. If you're actually interested in shedding some fat I'd start working out and eat in a slight caloric surplus 10-15% over your caloric needs (slow and controlled growth). Within the first year, if you take it seriously, you will build muscle and lose fat at the same time (after the first year it's going to be more difficult to do both at the same time). You do have good jaw development. If you'd like to optimize the look around your face I'd suggest training your neck to bring it more in alignment with your jaw. You'll get rid of the boy-ish "lolipop on a stick"-look (but the smaller appearing neck could also be camera distortion due to your phone close to your face) . But yea man you have a good hair line, good jaw line, strong chin, strong eyebrows. Alot of things going for you.
Another big thing is water retention. Even though I'm lean my face doesn't look crazy defined most of the time, but I noticed my face looks significantly leaner after an intense cardio session because it flushed a lot of water out of my face.
I noticed the same thing after football training. I lose a few kilos of water after every session. I have noticed that my face looks much leaner and I look younger!
@32_Antariksh Rajkonwar_XII D Yes, but around 2 to 3 litre of water are sufficient for the majority of people (except if you are really tall and big). The more physical activity you do the more water you need. Sorry if I have wrote something wrong.
I was always lean throughout my teens and 20s, but my face looks so much better and more defined now that I'm about to hit 32... this video explains so much!
Same here I had killer bone structure age 18 but I'm 29 now and 55lbs over weight so I haven't got that look anymore. I can't wait to get this weight off to see how much potential is underneath the fat :D. Also you can train yourself to chew using your back teeth and stop using the cheeks to chew your food, apparently stuffing your mouth with food can enlarge the buccinators muscles and ruin that angular look everyone dreams off. And I suggest eating a more low carb diet ( not too severe) and increasing protein to help with water retention... also you can buy natural diretics too to help flush water out of system.
@@bennybenny7382 do cardio 30 to 45 minutes, 5 day per week. Eat 3 meal have a good breakfast, avoid sodas 🥤, and you will be fit in 60 to 90 days. (is incredible but is true) But that because of years of training, and a good 6,2 bone build that God only give to a few ones. Spartan genetic! But now I am 39 and water retention is a thing in this age, that’s why I don’t eat salt 🧂too much.
These are great videos. Well done. From my personal experience, I lost 15 kilos and completely transformed my appearance after finding out the results of my allergy test and also after seeking therapy for depression, which I didn't realize I had. I found out I was allergic to gluten and milk. i eliminated them from my diet, and the weight started coming off quickly. I also made sure I walked every day and did weights twice a week. I now look much better and much happier with myself. As for the depression, I found out that whenever I felt down, I would immediately open the fridge and eat something. I have learned to recognise the triggers now, and with therapy and medication I am on the right path. I have also focused on my spirituality and prayed which has given me considerable confidence. Of course, everyone's experience is different, but that is what worked for me.
@@biswakeshmallick4869 I did a "skin prick test" where they pricked the skin and looked for inflammation. They also discovered I was allergic to cats and dust-mites. I was sneezing a lot. They prescribed me some medication where you put 2 drops a day under your tongue. After a while I felt much better and the sneezing stopped. I still drink milk and eat bread, but not as much as before. Cut down the bread and you will lose weight. Most people eat way too much bread.
@@justanothernothuman I am an addict. Sad but true. I am feeling a little better now. I would love to be drug free. Depression is truly awful. I have my moments, but the medication makes it tolerable. Apparently too much medication can sometimes make you feel completely numb to everything, which can be worse than being depressed!
I’m 30, and I’ve lost close to 50 pounds since September of 2021. Exercise that involved a lot of cardio and total body workouts, plus just eating a bit less/healthier. I’m currently at 155 pounds (about 70 kilos), which is what I weighed in high school. Except, even though I weighed that much in high school, I still had a bit of excess fat around my body back then. I’m the most lean I’ve ever been now. My face is still not “sharper”. I’m half Asian-half white, and my dad is Filipino. I recently stumbled upon childhood photos of my family, and one in particular stood out during a visit to the Philippines back in the summer of 2000 when I was eight. My brother and I were sitting on my dad’s lap, all smiling, and my dad, giving a closed lip smile. I noticed my dad’s jawline was CRAZY defined. I’m talking the type of masculine jawline that is definitely coveted today by male model standards. Obviously I didn’t notice this as a child, because you don’t really pay attention to things like that at that age. My dad was roughly 40 in that photo. So I went back and found pictures of my dad when he was much younger (late 20’s/early 30’s)…and noticed….his jawline wasn’t nearly as pronounced. My dad was in the army from ages 20-44. He was never “fat” during his younger years, but wasn’t super skinny either. He was pretty “lean” in his late 20’s from the photos I’ve seen, but still had a more rounded face with buccal fat. But when I look at those family vacation photos in the summer of 2000, and the handful of ones I could find from around that year, my dad’s facial structure is POPPING way more so than his younger years. His jawline, noticeably more square and sharp. So, I guess I will get that defined and rugged looking jawline too…in 10 years.
@@ThePresentation010 you could know how and what to do and still make mistakes. Whether you know what to do or not, your journey would be different from others.
QOVES thank you for sharing the truth about the fashion industry which I feel like most people just aren't aware of. We make huge personal sacrifices which are often overlooked and just ignored. Models are made, not born
A part of it is born though. Height. At 5ft1 I could never be a model 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ not even an actress. That said maintaining that low body weight requires a lot of work!
1980. Skull was good. Skinny was good. AIDS made them not so good. Guys started lifting to stave off that "wasting" feature of terminal illness. If I look big, then I must be healthy. If I live six more months, I will look like a skeleton. Hollow cheeks.....here I come.
Love to see how straightforward the messages in these videos have become thought the years. These are hard truths that some people don't like to hear but Quoves is dishing out more hard facts than ever 💯
From what I'm learning from watching all these videos on these topics is that my facial and body features are extremely good. I now have no doubt that I can become very hot. I used to be and still kinda am very hard on myself, but I feel a little bit better about myself now. Once I actually start to work out and mature a bit more, I think I could easily become a higher-level male model if I tried.
Another overlooked factor: carbohydrates. Too much of them in the average person's diet. They wreak havoc on the body in all sorts of ways but one of the side effects is fluid retention - especially in places like the face and the lower gut. They're the most common cause of puffy eyes and swollen-looking face. Cut down on the carbs and your face will deflate, but it will also improve your health significantly.
@@bruhhhh--- Carbs are mostly in sugar and processed grains like bread and pasta, also in some vegetables. Sugar is probably the worst offender overall since the average person consumes way more of it than they should.
Oh my god. I just had a huge realization about my face- I am an exact example of how orthodontics can help facial features. When I was in middle school, I had extremely weak facial features and very, very crooked teeth with a narrow and high palate. I got an expander and then later braces in my freshman year of high school, and coming into junior year I had an almost completely different face even with high body fat - defined cheekbones, strong jaw, and obviously straight teeth.. I had always assumed that it was just puberty (and that was definitely part of it) but now I realize those braces played a huge role! That’s so cool, thanks for helping me learn something.
For women, estrogen levels also play a role. One of my doctors forced my estrogen levels higher and boom I went from model thin to kind of plump. My face got rounder.
I ain't gonna complicate my life due to how much fat my face has and this and that. I'll just live a healthy lifestyle and breath correctly, we all look good doing that. Just love yourself.
I've always had hollow cheeks naturally and I thought I should probably eat more, but I always got compliments on my facial features and chiseled jawline, so I started to love the look. fat distribution is different for everyone so even if you're at a low body fat percentage you could still hold more fat in your face and not notice much change. Either that or like this guy said you might not have the best bone structure.
fr lol. i had anorexia as a teenager and my face was still chubby despite my BMI being within the 14-15 range all the while i couldnt pinch fat from my arms or legs or anything, i looked damn near skeletal lmao. it just is what it is for some people
Ashley Graham is interesting - super strong bone structure despite not being lean. People say she's had work done but I don't see how that's possible...
I’ve seen pictures of her parents and I think she’s just blessed with great genes, at least from what I saw, her mom still has a good jawline and facial bone structure
its just how some people are lol. i used to be severely underweight due to unfortunately suffering an eating disorder and yet i still had chubby cheeks when i was otherwise basically skeletal. i think now, weirdly enough, my face is more lean despite going up like 5-6 BMI points because ive aged
I have very little forward projection. My mandible is quite short. I also am Asian, and I have a lot of facial and submental fat despite leaning out in other areas of my body. I will look into what an orthodontist can do, but I am not hopeful. My jawline was much stronger when I was young. I was skinnier, and I had a bit of an overbite. When I got Invisalign, my jawline softened considerably. My bite corrected, but my side profile suffered, I think. This softening, however, may have led to a personality change, too. I used to be quite stubborn, and I think it showed in my jaw. I still am, but now I feel much more feminine with my changed facial aesthetic. Still, I’m not happy with my side profile. I will look around for orthodontists who can help with this.
I can vouch for the long term effectiveness of mewing. Definitely a game changer. I don't look perfect, but especially my face has become much more structured and along with jaw exercises, my jaw muscles are now in great shape.
@@Lazymath007_ i have no idea how that could be possible, but I'm sorry that happened fam. Did you push against the teeth directly? The problem with mewing is, that no one is really to explain it in simple terms or with visual graphics so that everyone can follow. Some do, but it's still confusing af.
@@realleftover no I did not push against the teeth directly. I only did as instructed. I did 2 exercises. I looked up and sideways and clenched my jaw to make it sharper. And I did the fish face. Apparently it did the opposite. My jaw became narrower and my face became longer. I am literally a model looking guy and now a week later I look ugly as shit. I can’t believe how I degraded my looks so much in just 7 days and I don’t even know my mistake😩😩
With all due respect, craniofacial changes usually do not occur within such a short period of time with these exercises, but if you already looked like a model, then just continue doing what you did before haha I'm sure you'll be able to reverse it! Check out iron lions mewing 2.0 on YT here. It's just a neck exercise that helped me strengthen my neck etc., which accentuates the jawline too! All the best to u fam 🙏🏻
3:20 this issue is vast majority of anyone watching this video is already way past puberty into adulthood. This is really crucial info for anyone who ever has kids to make sure you take them to a specialist in children's ortho development to correct this at a very young age. I had braces in high school which did nothing for my recessed jaw(either braces were done too late as I already stopped growing or the dentist who put them in wasn't qualified and I should have saw a orthodontist). Eventually years later my teeth shifted as the original dentist never told me i needed retainers for life and then I ended up seeing an orthodontist as an adult to get Invisalign and straighten things out. I asked him if I could do anything about my Class II deep bit and he said no outside of surgery. He just said "just keep your beard since it hides it and frames your face". Moral of story....try and grow a beard if you can to frame your jaw as it hair on your face does the same as hair on your skull.
Till 12 I Had A Good Looking Facial Structure But Got Into An Accident Which Ruined My Dental Structure. I Couldn't Get Braces Until I Was 15 And By That Time My Lower Jaw Was Ruined ( Its Recessed ) And Braces Didn't Improve The Situation. I Got Them Removed At 18 And Have Been Wearing Retainers Nightly For Over An Year. Now I'm 19 And I Hate To Look At Pictures Of Myself When I Was Young With Perfect Jaw And Teeth And I Wonder How I Would Have Looked If I Didn't Get In The Accident As A Teenager. 😞 Feel Like Crying 😞
It's even more crucial to feed your children healthy whole foods and make them chew. Actually it starts even further back than that, breastfeeding is better than bottle feeding because it's too easy for babies to get the milk out of bottles so there isn't enough force being applied for proper facial development. Yes take your kids to a dentist/orthodontist, but also recognize those problems are a symptom and not the cause.
...and then there are those lucky people who just never seem to gain fat in the facial region, no matter how heavy they get. I know a guy who is about 5'9" and easily wears size 38 or 40 pants. Pear shaped with a bit of a gut. But he has a skinny little head and defined jawline despite not really having prominent facial bones. By contrast, I stay pretty lean and have prominent facial bones and a defined jaw area. But if I gain 5 pounds, I automatically get a double chin. We are all different.
It may depends on your age. I was like you at 18 years old. But now, I'm 44 and since 5-8 years if I gain 5 or 10 pounds it doesn't show at all in my face because I have lost facial fat with the aging process.
Could you do a video about your recommendations for behaviors in childhood in increase aesthetics in adulthood? I had a palette expansion done in childhood in the hopes of keeping my wisdom teeth (didn't work) but I was wondering if that effects could've been done without such invasive and expensive dental work.
Im an asian female with strong jawline. Interestingly I came across this mewing thing a couple years back and realise that this was why my jawline is so well developed. Ever since childhood I had the habit or resting or pushing my tongue against the roof of my mouth. This is a 24/7 thing and it feels weird to just let my tongue lie flat even when I am at rest. Had I known I wouldve not done this as i often hated the look of my jawline in my youth and 20s.
Be patient! When I was 18 years old, I had a puffy face. If I had gained 2kg it showed so much on my face. Now I'm 44 and in my opinion, my face looks too skinny and I would like to have a fat transfer... If I gain 5kg it doesn't show at all on my face.
@@unleashedbeast1459 Cause your face can begin to store water, mostly in the jaws if you're not a person that drink a lot of water. It's the reason why "mew bros" always want to drink a lot of water while at the same time taking less sodium.
(not saying you should but like smoking literally helps you get the hollow jaw) great video definitely is one of the first legit and well constructed video about this topic.
I've always been pretty thin (BMI of ~19) but my face is incredibly chubby. Even now at 23 it still has much more fat than on any other thin person I've seen, even fat people often have thinner faces than me. I know part of it is my shitty facial structure, but it bothers me there's nothing I can do about it. I don't want to waste my young years looking like shit, I'm tired of "oh you'll be happy once you get older" but I thought people started caring less about looks at that age anyways? Plus people say it makes you look "youthful" when it doesn't. I don't know where that comes from. Like sure it can, if you have a good facial structure beneath it, otherwise it will just give you saggy jowls and pronounced nasolabial folds. Sooo youthful, right? Having a fat face and/or bad facial structure is really a curse, you can't do anything to really "fix" it. My upper third and forehead are much too short as well. It's a terrible combination, can't be fixed and it sucks. At leat with a crooked nose or something you can fix it and the surgery for it is very common and well-researched. I really hope in the future we will be able to develop something to properly help people with a disproportionally fat face. Nowadays all I get is that "you're not supposed to remove fat from the face under any circumstance because you will need it once you age!!", though I can't imagine that to be true for every type of face. Some people just clearly have too much facial fat (while others may indeed have little that will imapct them while aging).
try to research jaw surgeries and check your bite, if you have overbite (check youself, detist might not to tell the truth) it can give you extra chubbiness plus i know there is an opinion that if you are in your late 20th and it didn't go away you can do buccal fat removal, as after that age it will not probably change for a long time not an advice, because i don't know your situation, just some thoughts
Hey there, have you ever thought about using make-up? It might sound awkward (especially for men) and of course it is no permanent solution. But it can really change the way a face looks. Speaking of make-up don't mean mascara, lipstick or anything else 'decorative'. I'm speaking of a solid foundation, lighter and darker compact powders for countering and highlighting, concealer to correct spots or eye circles and kajal or gel to define the brows. If you find the right products for your skin and learn a solid technique make-up can make a huge difference. I'm not selling beauty products or anything. It is just my personal experience how using subtle make up not only changed the perception of my face but also I experienced self-efficacy which had a positive effect on my self-acceptance and self-esteem.
As someone who works out religiously, is ripped (no joke, I am actually ripped, just not super buffed), takes care of nutrition, trim beard to golf court level of smoothness, has a bodyfat level low enough to have abs to show, does not drink, does not smoke, used brackets as a child and drinks plenty of water, I can confidently say that my face is still, very much a 6 in a good day. It's a bummer to know that no matter how hard you try, you can never really get better at certain aspects that genetics have already decided for you. For more context: I am bald, so I shaved my hair completely and tried to go for the bald and muscular look (male pattern baldness is very strong in my family, no amount of Finasteride could stop it). My eyes are the prey type, and very egg-like shaped, with black circles around them that make me look like a thug. I've peaked, and my peak is a bloody 6
One thing is that you dont have to starve yourself to get lean, just eat in a slight caloric deficit, track your weight progress and if you see yourself not losing any more weight lower your calories by 100/150 and so on until you are satisfied, eat more volumous food or foods like eggs or chicken which have more protein that make you full, also slow digesting carbs such as oats keep your energy high for longer periods of time, dont have to overcomplicate it or starve yourself
I hate the whole sharp face trend, because that's what it is: a beauty trend. It is no different than one size doesn't fit all influencer makeup circa 2016. A bony face does not suit everybody! It's also quite silly when you consider the face hollows out even more over time! A fat enhanced face literally promotes neotany! Fat on the face is as only unflattering as you make it.
Water fasting with electrolytes combined with zone 2-3 type fitness (for at least 3-5 days), then broken with clean protein and collagen can help with leaning out as well, and overall health in general when regularly done (combining extended and daily intermittent fasting).
I can attest to how genetics and your bone structure can do a lot.I’m at 25-30% body fat yet my jawline is still pretty visible, and in the mornings,I have slight of that “hollow cheek”look.Although,I’m 15 and I’ve always mewed since childhood, and my mom is a person who strives to be healthy and generally buys a lot healthier food for us since we were young,so nutrition and mewing would of definitely played a big role.
Tip 1: Low bodyfat makes your face more attractive Tip 2: Higher levels of androgens (for men) make your face more attractive. You can increase levels of T etc by lifting weights. Some people just have bad facial genetics, but *almost* everyone can improve their attractiveness by working on the two things above.
@@kalipiana3880 why do the majority of people think non model face = babyface? I don’t understand a babies face does not have thick eyebrows, thick hair, etc.
This is how to do it, no bs. -Calorie deficit long until the fat on your face comes off, could be the first place or could be the last place to come off. - Do cardio to burn extra calories to help get into a bigger calorie deficit to burn more fat, dont eat back these calories burned. - Bonus but not necessary, but you could do a keto/low carb or low salt diet to reduce water retention. This will help your body and you're face too look even leaner. Another tip I will add is it's not about starving yourself. The trick is you need to choose foods that are so low in calories that it allows you to eat alot of it. Saldads, chicken, fish, low fat popcorn, fruit, vegetables etc. They need to have lots of protein/fiber. This is what will keep you full and make the process of losing fat easier. The cravings will never go away for junk food, that's on you unfortunately. However if you follow this advice I promise you the feeling of hunger will be alot easier to deal with.
I recall as a child my mom always said she thought kids were cutest as babies/tots & early to mid twenties, I recall how she would say janet jackson was just SO adorable in her early part of her career(music), due to her having that "baby fat" (we were watching pleasure principle specifically lol)
So, to get sharp facial features, I need to select my genes before I am born. I want to choose genes that will produce a bone structure in the skull and jaw that lead to sharp facial features. Then, when I'm fully grown, I need to reduce my body fat to near starvation. I will get right on it!
I’m about 30% body fat, whenever my face isn’t holding any water my cheeks tend to be hollow and my jawline is visible even though I still have some sag under it . This video is right, it mainly depends on your bone structure.
I found his channel by accident. It’s really fascinating. I’m not really a fan of the fashion industry, and I think it’s all very silly. Ironically, I used to date an Avon stylist who was obsessed with appearance. She had a wonderful color sense.
Bro please raise the mic volume, i have to put it to 100 level just to hear you. And no i don't have hearing issues but it's seriously too low Please consider this 🙏🏻
ive been wondering this for a while but one of the examples you use is a guy sucking in his cheeks to make his jaw appear sharper, i have a similar situation where if I subtly suck in my cheeks my jaw looks super strong, does this mean if I lose more face fat its what my face will actually look like? or is it no indicator at all of your facial structure
It’s all genetics at the end of the day. A lot of black models in the industry are from the Sudan region. Having Nilotic ancestry. That area has the tallest, darkest, thinnest ppl on the planet. It’s extremely difficult for them to gain weight. And the complexion does well in photography and colors in general, after all black is the combination of all colors combined so it only makes sense that it compliments any color it is next to. Plus the natural height, and bam! You have a genetic line of ppl who are built to model. All that starving yourself and watching what you eat is never a problem for them. And the men can have muscle and definition and still be very lean and slim. You guys should study the Nilotic tribes. Such a beautiful group of humans. A lot of African mythology suggests the origins of humanity began in that region.
@@owenlaurencemarzan8545 that doesn’t even make sense. When you were black on a hot day you get hotter because darkness is absorbing the light where as white reflects light that’s why those with no melanin will burn in the sun because their skin is reflecting instead of absorbing. On a paint pallette if you mix all the colors you get brown… Black contains the entire light spectrum. I don’t know how many example I would have to give.
Braces after highschool was life changing for me, afterwards it was reduce breathing through my mouth and a optimal diet but the braces are what helped me the most
Fat distribution plays a part too. I've seen people who are a bit overweight having a lean define face while those skinny or slim have cheeks and even a bit of fat on their neck.
Water retention and, especially, fat percentage can play a big role. The reason why you see people who are slim yet have fat cheeks or fat on their neck is simple, it's because fat accumulates in those areas due to individual variations in fat distribution. This is one of the ways in which people can have a higher fat percentage despite having a normal BMI.
1:43 idk if it was your specific intention but hearing someone ik just says the the flat out facts helped me with my eating disorder thought line a bit
Can you do a video on different types of surgeries we can get for improving jaws and midface generally? Like which ones are the best, risks and benefits of each one? I think it would make a great video.
@@ShutupandListen Implants are a bad idea, you can get surgery to modify the jaw/chin bone directly, these affect other areas of the face including the chin.
Honestly i'm so glad i have fat in my face. When i was a teenager i would have killed to have a buccal fat removal surgery, but now that i'm in my late twenties i realise that with my defined jaw and prominent cheekbones i would look like a man without that fat.
I have a square jaw and prominent cheekbones and I don’t look like a man. And there are plenty of men who don’t have these features. They are not inherently masculine traits, just human ones. Look at people like Angelina Jolie, Olivia Wilde, Kiera Knightly, they don’t look like men.
@@stars-and-clouds lol i just turned 31 and my face has as much buccal fat as when i was 20 (one guy took me for 17 year old, most guesses are around 20-22. I dont see any deterioration and probably won't till later in life as my parents also have very round, youthful faces. So genetics!
having a lean face is actually something i’m kind of insecure about; mine is relatively long and somewhat slim, making features like my large nose stand out. i have two absolutely gorgeous cousins on both sides of my family, and they both have short, wide-set faces and chubby cheeks. it adds a playful youthfulness to their features that i always wished i had.
I'm interested into how the Kibbe types play into this. For example a theatrical type could naturally achieve this look easier than a romantic type, because "genetically" the theatrical doesn't "hold onto" fat deposits as readily. For example allison harvard. I personally loved her buccal fat face and think the removal changed the whole vibe. As women age imo they reeeeeeaaaaaalllllyyyy benefit from some extra fat on the face. (lady from emporer's new groove vibes) I wish I had more fat pads padding my very deep set eyes that accentuate the hollows. You could also talk about the development of the muscles under the face. Is "Face yoga" real? I don't know, but I know my face benefits from making the motions it doesn't normally make and it smooths out certain areas for me, such as inversions lessening nasolabial lines.
I like my soft features... I'm nearing 30, and I always lie about my age since people are bamboozled if I tell them that I'm 30...so I just tell them that I'm 22. And Derek... His facial features make him look younger than he is... I don't even know how old he is. But he looks very youthful.
I had an overbite as a child and got that fixed with braces as a teen. My teeth changed, but not my jaw which left me with a (humbly speaking) remarkably well developed jaw for a woman. I guess I am really lucky in that regard.
I just want slightly better jaw(not super model levels) so I get better interactions with people, so that's why I'm curious about mewing. I'm afraid if it's a pseudo-science or not and if there are risks doing it, also I'm 22 so is it over for my growth?

I’ve had chubby cheeks and always been called cute all my life, until i lost some weight and got buccal fat pad removal that’s when i started getting noticed and getting girls attention more that i never really got all throughout my childhood and kinda accepted that i wasn’t conventionally attractive but i always knew that i just needed to lose face fat, nowadays my face is as lean as it’s ever been but i’m still not satisfied i want it to be leaner to show my bone structure and jawline more
I’d love to know what happens if I get expanders or braces - and whether I need them in the first place 🥲🥲🥲 what are the measurements please! Would love to see a video on that 🥹🥺
I’m a mom of three young boys. What I’ve gotten so far from your videos is orthodontics and sports. What would you do with your children if you were a dad?
Most people need to expand their jaws. I widened my jaw by a centimeter at the age of 27 without surgery and it completely changed my life, my sense of self and the perception of me by the world! 😍😍😍🔥
A youtuber called vigorous steve ( he has a podcast with Derek from MPMD that you mentioned before ) Recommends "going hungry on your diet" he says he noticed it makes people have a thinner face And recommens for women to eat something before going to sleep Idk if this works or not but I just thought I should comment it maybe it helps
Eating before sleep is quite detrimental to a lot of people, while others naturally gravitate to it without any issues. I don't know for a fact but it might be related to digestive issues. Point is that it isn't always feasible to eat before sleep without harming your health (sleeping well is one of the most important things one can do for one's health so if eating late makes you not sleep well it's important to stop).
Another thing to point out about a healthy lifestyle with fasting is that when you fast for more than 12 hours your body goes through a process called autophagy. there has been multiple medical studies to backup the claims that this process can also break down loose skin, it can make your face look more skinny it can also help with muscle development specially if you add Hilt after you break a fast.. I'm basing all this on actual science articles I read about medical studies human physiology, and my personal experience from losing over 60 pounds and noticing a big difference in my face structure and my body structure overall.
Aw, Qoves is caring about us sharp facial feature newbies. That's a very reassuring thing to know that models have to go through rigorous and almost life threatening routines just to have sharper jawlines as an example. Everybody should like their buccal fat on their face mines sitting on my face awkwardly to the lower side so it gives me this chubby look but I've been working on it with facial exercises so it's gotten a lot better. If you don't have a nice enough facial structure you should probably just do face exercises, really reduces the fat look.
wow awesome! Really appreciate this video. I've been an enhanced competitive bodybuilder and even at fairly low (for normal people) bodyfat %, I have a very fat face with poor definition. I can sort of get a lean face but only at unsustainable precontest bodyfat levels.I've been mewing for about 3 years and have seen very minimal results; I find it hard to mew because I have a really overgrown back wisdom tooth and if I mew it can get irritated from contact with the tooth below it while mewing. Is there any hope of orthodontics working well for me at age 33?
I think I got my dad's family "skinny face", as my face is the last place I get fat and some family members kinda told me I get a "too skinny face" (in their opinion) when I am at my usual weight (that is actually not lean). Still I have a baby face, don't know if it's because of other face attributes I have, but I don't really get it. I suppose and expect it will get somewhat better in the future.
@@Lazymath007_ yep, but actually I've been thinking my "problem" may not be exactly (or not only) my face, but my height, clothes and lack of make up that makes me appear younger when compared to girls my age
I have TMJ and I have noticed that it has expanded my jaw. Iam a girl so I am not a fan and am trying to reverse it but maybe if you are a guy this can be an advantage lol
Too big jaw muscles can look bad on guys too. Good example is "What I've Learned" on youtube. He has bruxism and now has giant jaw muscles. Makes him look kind of like a chipmunk. Houda I think you mean that you have bruxism (grinding teeth at night). TMJ is the jaw joint and dysfunction in the joint doesn't necessarily increase the size of your jaw muscles. Traditionally they use mouth guards that prevent teeth grinding but I don't know if they're any good. There's also a treatment where you inject botox in the muscle and it reduces the size significantly. You can look up some images to see for yourself.
it’s all genetics when it come to good bone structure part, when I was younger I had the baby chubby cheek face then as I got older I pretty much grow into having a thin face.
It's not entirely genetic, but also epigenetic. It took me 7-8 years to expand my jaw and straighten my teeth and it required a lot of effort. The results will be worth it but it requires you to change your lifestyle drastically, from diet to exercise.
@@Blue2000q I follow a strict whole food plant based diet(actually almost vegan because I no longer eat meat, eggs or milk although I break the rules sometimes to eat some instant noodle) that consists of potatoes, corn, green veggies(lots of green veggies btw), legumes, some grains and many fresh fruits(except citruses). No refined carbs or sugar is allowed. No cooking oil, junk foods or anything like that. I exercise as often as I can, sometimes 6 times a week, and do exercises such as walking, running and cycling(this is to keep my body fat percentage at the minimum). I only eat when I am hungry, and I usually stand while eating. I try to keep my body posture as straight as possible by, for example: not texting when I am outside(in fact, I removed all social media except TH-cam from my phone). So basically, I adopted a lifestyle that allows me to mew as often as I can.
Guess I am a lost cause then... already had braces and all but my jaw and cheekbones are underdeveloped, I'm skinny but every bit of fat goes straight to my face
Summary:
Hello. I was wanting to ask how can I increase gonion width
do expanders push ur maxilla upwards or make ur face wider?
how do expanders change ur bones
What does sleeping on yur pack do?
Another important thing to mention is that it also has to do with fat distribution. Some people can put on weight and stay relatively lean in their face and other people can lose weight and their face is the last place where they'll lose fat.
This is literally me, my face gains weight first. I went from 22% to 9% bodyfat and my fave was the last thing to change.
I’ve always been lean but corona made me eat lol. I still had a 6pack at 22% but insane lovehandles and a face that looked like a giant egg
I don't know my bodyfat but i'm lean not muscular (5,11 with 70 kg) but i still have chubby cheeks although i have well wide and defined jawline

The more physical activity you do the more water you need.
Sorry if I have wrote something wrong.
I was always lean throughout my teens and 20s, but my face looks so much better and more defined now that I'm about to hit 32... this video explains so much!
Same.
Is because of Juvenile fat pads or Baby fat, it start to disappear in your early to mid 20’. People with good facial bone structure benefit from this.

Oh my goodness, George, good for you!

Damn. I think 95% of the food in my country are carbs. I'm conditioned to still feel hungry if I don't eat rice on a daily basis.
@@bruhhhh--- Carbs are mostly in sugar and processed grains like bread and pasta, also in some vegetables. Sugar is probably the worst offender overall since the average person consumes way more of it than they should.

don't forget beer. that makes your face bloated as well
Same girl ima huge bitch now 🥴🤦🏻♀️
iirc estrogen influences your appetite and how much your body holds onto and stores fat. This is very true!!!

You're awesome Qoves, I really respect you for not being afraid to broadcast the uncomfortable truth sometimes. Reality can be uncomfortable at times.

It's even more crucial to feed your children healthy whole foods and make them chew. Don't have facial surgery ever. Why not try to increase water retention?
Don't have surgery. You have a problem with your diet. Eat more fruit and leafy green veg. It will balance out everything.
@@firmman4505 So, drinking less water.
@@yestermonth waht, you're supposed to drink less water? thats what water retention is?
@@unleashedbeast1459 Cause your face can begin to store water, mostly in the jaws if you're not a person that drink a lot of water. It's the reason why "mew bros" always want to drink a lot of water while at the same time taking less sodium.

great video definitely is one of the first legit and well constructed video about this topic.
Some people just clearly have too much facial fat (while others may indeed have little that will imapct them while aging).
try to research jaw surgeries and check your bite, if you have overbite (check youself, detist might not to tell the truth) it can give you extra chubbiness
plus i know there is an opinion that if you are in your late 20th and it didn't go away you can do buccal fat removal, as after that age it will not probably change for a long time
not an advice, because i don't know your situation, just some thoughts
Mewing
@@MarSima1 Yeah I think my overbite might be the issue :/
Unfortunately orthodentic surgeries are rather expensive and invasive from what I've heard.
@@kupaadop Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely consider it for some situations, though unfortunately it won't help cover up my nasiolabial folds.
Ur handsome handsome handsome. Don't say to urself like that
One thing is that you dont have to starve yourself to get lean, just eat in a slight caloric deficit, track your weight progress and if you see yourself not losing any more weight lower your calories by 100/150 and so on until you are satisfied, eat more volumous food or foods like eggs or chicken which have more protein that make you full, also slow digesting carbs such as oats keep your energy high for longer periods of time, dont have to overcomplicate it or starve yourself
Thanks for the insight.

Fat on the face is as only unflattering as you make it.
being fat is not attractive stop lying to yourself
Water fasting with electrolytes combined with zone 2-3 type fitness (for at least 3-5 days), then broken with clean protein and collagen can help with leaning out as well, and overall health in general when regularly done (combining extended and daily intermittent fasting).

I can attest to how genetics and your bone structure can do a lot.I’m at 25-30% body fat yet my jawline is still pretty visible, and in the mornings,I have slight of that “hollow cheek”look.Although,I’m 15 and I’ve always mewed since childhood, and my mom is a person who strives to be healthy and generally buys a lot healthier food for us since we were young,so nutrition and mewing would of definitely played a big role.
bruh in the mornings I have puffy cheeks and then it gets more lean and I get hollow ones
loving this channel
Tip 1: Low bodyfat makes your face more attractive
Tip 2: Higher levels of androgens (for men) make your face more attractive. You can increase levels of T etc by lifting weights.
Some people just have bad facial genetics, but *almost* everyone can improve their attractiveness by working on the two things above.

WHAT?!? 😰
It does work, ive done ot for 6 months and o got hollow cheeks just by smashng my gonial angle several times, i also fixed my small chin
Bonesmashing works
I will get right on it!

ive been wondering this for a while but one of the examples you use is a guy sucking in his cheeks to make his jaw appear sharper, i have a similar situation where if I subtly suck in my cheeks my jaw looks super strong, does this mean if I lose more face fat its what my face will actually look like? or is it no indicator at all of your facial structure
mewing, proper swallowing and posture/head posture are really important
Black is a shade a lack of color. White on the otherhand is the combination of colors
@@owenlaurencemarzan8545 that doesn’t even make sense. When you were black on a hot day you get hotter because darkness is absorbing the light where as white reflects light that’s why those with no melanin will burn in the sun because their skin is reflecting instead of absorbing.
On a paint pallette if you mix all the colors you get brown…
Black contains the entire light spectrum. I don’t know how many example I would have to give.

I have a square jaw and prominent cheekbones and I don’t look like a man. And there are plenty of men who don’t have these features. They are not inherently masculine traits, just human ones. Look at people like Angelina Jolie, Olivia Wilde, Kiera Knightly, they don’t look like men.

Above all else the number 1 reason, is that you're face can't be photoshopped in real life unlike the media that we all compare ourselves to
No🙀😥😭😭🤧😣🤷🏼♀️
I'm interested into how the Kibbe types play into this.
Your masseter muscle can also be too large and gives you a bloated "Chipmunk" look even at a low bodyfat.
Just get jaw implant or surgery. But.... Before you do so wear braces for 2 years first!

Wouldn't losing as much of fat as possible give the same results as the buccal fat pad removal surgery?

I’m a mom of three young boys. What I’ve gotten so far from your videos is orthodontics and sports. What would you do with your children if you were a dad?
it’s just a combo of buccal fat, bone structure and weight. to look lean you either lose weight, get plastic surgery, or.. both.

Eating before sleep is quite detrimental to a lot of people, while others naturally gravitate to it without any issues. I don't know for a fact but it might be related to digestive issues.

Another thing to point out about a healthy lifestyle with fasting is that when you fast for more than 12 hours your body goes through a process called
autophagy. there has been multiple medical studies to backup the claims that this process can also break down loose skin, it can make your face look more skinny it can also help with muscle development specially if you add Hilt after you break a fast..
