I think a masculine face with one or two feminine features is usually what makes a handsome, memorable face to women. A highly masculine face is sometimes intimidating and signals to women more aggressive males which is not beneficial to their partnership. You want enough testosterone to be competitive and protective to offspring but not so much as to be promiscuous and aggressive. (For female evolutionary interests) Brad Pitt, for example is a good mix of feminine features in a overall masculine face. A lot of 90s sex symbols are like that.
When you mean "A highly masculine face is sometimes intimidating and signals to women more aggressive males which is not beneficial to their partnership" you mean masculine faces that aren't good looking. "Brad Pitt, for example is a good mix of feminine features in a overall masculine face" means masculine faces that ARE good looking. Masculinity as a feature is independent of how good looking a man's face is.
@@donwarren3253 it isn't independent of how attractiveness is perceived. Attractiveness is multifactorial, it's one factor and an important one but not independent. Yes!!Like Zayn Malik!!He has well "designed" cheekbones,he has this "bad boy" fashionable style, thick beard and eyebrows, but his eyelashes and nose are more feminine and like "too perfect". @@EGYPTXJJ that’s usually obtained when you lose weight but it depends on their face bone structure. Some have smaller chins which makes it hard for a jawline to be visible.
Finally a youtube channel who actually brings up studies to properly discuss the science of attractiveness. My only critic is that you guys don't link the studies below in the description, everything else is pretty top notch!
In my opinion, he covered many important things in this video, yes the things you said do contribute to how attractive a masculine face is, but they're minimal and nobody points out any of these things unless they're really below average. Ie for ipd, unless the person has way to far set eyes nobody is gonna care unless it's some top modelling industry. For the things you listed as long as they're some what average then the guy will still be considered attracitve
@ 12 means nothing you can have thin eyebrows as long as they compliment your face with other masculine features ie jaw. Chin to philtrum ratio means a lot I'll give you that one You can appear to change the size of your neurocranium by changing your hairstyle and using curly hair if it's too big or covering your forehead. Splanchocranium cna be changed by beards as he mentioned in the video
You can Google pretty boy and you'll see what he means. They are basically androgynous dudes that appear youthful and kinda feminine but at the same time they have some really strong masculine features mostly jawline that makes them still appear masculine. Idk how to explain that's how I have it in my mind.
Most of the people who are fans of those tiktok pretty boys are little girls and young teens so it would make sense why they would find them attractive. Those guys are still teens or very young adults who still have not fully developed.
It depends greatly on the country/region of the world that we're speaking of, since, in some parts of the world, a lot of women do really enjoy older/preaged men, it all comes down, as someone else already pointed out in the comments, to the culture and the genetic backbone, and even the psychological backbone of the country or region itself
@The princess of bedwenches Its more of an age thing than a gender thing. They do not look completely androgynous. There is no mistaken that they are male. Its just that they are still very young and their faces have not fully reached their full masculine potential yet. They still look soft and sweet. A good way to get my point across is to Google a picture of Brad Pitt when he was 20 Vs when he was 30. At 20 he was no doubt an attractive person but in a way that would appeal to young girls and women. Adult women would have him absolutely adorable or pretty, but it was not until he was in his late 20s and his face and features "hardened" a bit that grown women found him hot.
I agree... as a teen and young woman I used to like males with feminized features, but as an older woman I prefer a more masculine man.. even hairy, wich was a no no as a young woman. So, yes, to me preference for masculine man is age related.
Yes ian somehalder ( specially when he was younger ) the guy is demanded much in the comments and his face would be very interesting to see his analysis
I have a lot of highly masculine facial features, and a side-effect from this that I've noticed is that even though I'm relatively short, can't go a proper beard yet, and even still have acne, people significantly over-estimate how old I am, often being off by upwards of 30-40%.
@@shugdude nice but dont let the beard eat your face. go to a barber atleast once, so he can cut your beard in accordance with your jawline. if you got a patchy beard, keep it short.

@ᴘʀɪᴍʀᴏꜱᴇ You are so disgusting. Why are you using mental disorders as an attack or insult? You are a horrible person. How do you think people who have disabilities feel? You're mocking them and using what they deal with as an insult. Saying someone has this when they probably don't is so hurtful to people who actually do.
@ᴘʀɪᴍʀᴏꜱᴇ It's amazing how someone can use mental disabilities like learning disabilities as a weapon against others. You having autism does not excuse you in the slightest for trying to use learning disabilities as an insult. How you find it ok when you have a disability is questionable. You aren't the only one, and you should be mindful of that and how it reflects on people who have them as well. You're making a mockery of them and acting as though it's something they should feel ashamed about. If you are so closed minded to see that, then there are options to help that such as therapy, speaking to close relatives and others. I don't believe anyone should use these as laughing matters. Too much harm comes from it.
@ᴘʀɪᴍʀᴏꜱᴇ I answered your question. Using intellectual abilities and learning disabilities is horrible and it hurts people who have them. If you advocate against that, then you would not be using your actions in contrast to what you are advocating. Therapy is actually very accessible. I'm assuming you must be relatively young. If you are young, many schools offer therapy and counselors. If you are older, many jobs offer from insurance and benefits. It isn't closed minded. It is best to educate yourself about how to get access to things for your needs. There are many mental health support groups in every community that you do not need to pay for. Do not attempt to twist this when many groups are trying their best to help people with mental disabilities be comfortable. If you can't talk to family, then you don't have to. If you don't have money, then you don't have to pay. There are plenty of videos online to help. It was a suggestion. Not an insult as you have been doing. What you did and what I did were not the same.
@ᴘʀɪᴍʀᴏꜱᴇ I do not need to assume. Your comments are atrocious and are clear indicators about you as a person. I hope you get the therapy you need. So much negativity can be harmful to one's mental health. Have a great life love.
Wow it's giving me a different kinda anxiety on why I'm so ugly, but anyways I exist and nobody can deny my existence even if I'm not the perfect one out there. I'm still gonna live and love and enjoy every second of this beautiful life gifted to me because apparently it's about external beauty but actually it's about internal beauty which many can't see since they are already enticed by surface level beauty and missing out on real connection which is good beyond their expectations.
I find a high nose bridge quite gorgeous. It's very masculine, and strong! If you look at busts of Alexander the Great, Caesar and Napoleon, all had high, prominent nose bridges, which started from the forehead.

You should analize Timothy Dalton. He has that kind of "classic, nobleman face" Small green eyes, black hair, thick eyebrows, quite thin lips, and strong jawline. He looked quite old when he was young, but when he reached 30s he looked gorgeus
The handsome east asian are those who do not look like Dumplings. the Japanese are the most guys in the world. Andy Lau is Chinese and is the most handsome pop star in Asia. the k pop and J pop stars are not all handsome. The handsome east Asians have Oval faces and nice nose!
Hey Qoves. Can you please do a video on MEWING! It’s something that I have seen visibly work for me, which is my biggest reasoning of promoting it, not the results of others, although now I’m more inclined to believe them.
To me, teeth and a strong chin makes for an attractive face. Also, a thick, muscular neck adds to a man looking more masculine. Thick eyebrows frame the face and make the eyes deep-set attractive to women. A square jawline, without a strong chin, usually makes the face too wide thus offsetting the structure of the face. Also, if overweight, one’s facial structure can be hidden by fat. If you are looking for an implant of any kind.......first lose as much fat as possible: you may just have features people always dream of. If the face is long ( talking about men) men can wear bangs to shorten their long face, if, too short, wearing your hair up can add to the length of the face. The most attractive male faces lie between long and short faces. Thicker lips can make the nose look smaller but actors like Mel Gibson, and Tom Cruiz ( Cruiz has the not too long and not too short face and Gibson has a longer face, but not too elongated I’m talking about..... Just to give you a visual) neither Mel Gibson nor Tom Cruise have thick lips nor do they have symmetrical ( attractive) noses, yet women find both of them very attractive. Also, hollowed-out cheeks, like Johnny Depp, and Brad Pitt come from high cheekbones and a strong jawline. Haven't you ever noticed that all the actors who have played Batman have strong chins? Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, and Ben Affleck all have strong chins and cleft chins can be very masculine. Then you have rugged handsome and beautiful men ( pretty boy looks)
No, a good eye area makes an attractive face. THE EYE area is the critical feature that women look for. It starts with eye contact! I have a very strong and chiseled jawline + chin but women have never showed any form of interest...only told my face is ugly.
Brigitte Bardot, Claudia Cardinale, Tyra Banks, Linda Evangelista, Laetitia Casta, Adriana Lima and Scarlett Johansson, they have interesting faces in my opinion
tbh i think a masucline man with a bit of feminine features makes him look more attractive for example guys who have long hair that is not too long but still long and have a beard and a moustache can make them look hella attractivd
Man, you bring so much info that i'd never think would be so acessible. Thank you sir, this content really intrigues me and you do a good job to bring it to the masses.
Can you please do an analysis on Owen Teague’s facial features? Most of his facial features are pretty generic but his jaw/bite is very unique and distinctive to the point it somehow makes his entire face a very unique and interesting one. And I can’t decide how I see him as both masculine yet feminine at the same time! His face kind of looks seahorsey (not a bad thing), and so many women are really attracted to him.
It has been a couple years since your comment but looking at Sophia now... even as I'm pushing 50... I'd say there's not a lot there. Even in her 20s. I'd give her a 7 by today's options. Immediately visible is facial asymmetry, such as the eyebrows. Jawline too masculine. Chin too broad. Mid-nose is downturned. I mean, 7 is still above average. But to put her on a pedestal?? My summary is that Hollywood just didn't have many options back then.
Nose and lips are the two most important features that make you look good. If you got this right (sharp & proportional nose + not protruded upper jaw & proportional lips ) then subtle variation can be overshadowed easily.
@@pascal6158 Jaw & chin are important and characteristic for men. Agreed !! But without a sharp nose & subtle lips, you will get chimpanzee looks, not like Brad Pitt. The nose is also very important for the side-look.
@@spartan2906 Sharp noses are a more feminine feature, most men look better with a bigger/ wider nose than a feminine, small one. Also full lips are generally considered as more attractive based on studies.
@@pascal6158 bigger nose fine but not extremely wide out & flattened at tip......see Brad Pitt/Robert Pattinson---- for even masculine Jon Hamm/Matthew McConaughey I'm talking about those noses, not smaller ones. I think that it may be that other ethnicities tend not to have these defined features. It doesn’t mean we’re unattractive, we’re just a different kind of attractive in my opinion.
Lauren J That’s definitely true. Aryan race phenotypes are and were perceived as beautiful throughout history. It’s none of a surprise to see white models being praised for their features and having individuals from other ethnicities being recognised only when they show these “white characteristics”.
@@gabs5058 Yeah😔 For me, having a slightly wider nose made me feel less desirable than many of my white female friends from time to time. @@laurenj432 It's basically like saying people of color are second rate in our beauty. We have the largest genetic diversity on the planet. Our noses aren't always wide but can be small and narrow too. Fuck eurocentricity
On average masculine faces are attractive to feminine females and feminine faces to masculine males. However, also more masculine females find femine looking male faces attractive and vice versa. It's always just yin and yang. However, as there simply are less feminine males and masculine females, their influence in rating such faces is smaller than the more average group and thus a study is not likely going to notice this pattern (if they are just randomly selecting people to vote). Similarly, highly masculine males feel attracted to highly feminine females and vice versa while more androgynous people find eachother attractive too. This is just how nature works. "Prettyboys" are popular in a lot of media because these faes look like young masculine males, which is the opposite of the typical young female that watches such media. It's always simply about opposition of equal strength. Extremes on one end need extremes on the other etc etc...
@@J11_boohoo What I am talking about in terms of feminity and masculine is more just the regular, like biolgical type of masculinity and feminity in people and not the feminine and masculine _functions_ OPS talks about. The opposition I mean is also just the general yin/yang that has always existed in nature, where opposites attract (like the polarities of magnets). I'm not even sure yet what to think about the masculine and feminine functions in OPS, as their model has different facets that I am not sure ae logical to me, like for example somene's weakest functions also being masculine at the same time. Basically their model too easily allows different things to be (seemingly) contradictive like that, which makes me wonder if it's accurate. I've found the subject of just observing natural oppositions in nature just interesting myself for most of my life while I've only known about carl jung's ideas and typlogy much shorter. However, such things are problably just the same sort of repetative pattens in our reality, so they are problably just everywhere and we all just all see the same ones playing out in nature.

As a straight man, I find a nice female body the bigger turn on than the face. I wonder if women look at men the same way. Also, sometimes you see somebody who does not have the stereotypical beauty profile, but somehow they are very attractive. Then other times, you see people who got plastic surgery to look perfect but it still does not look good. Any way you look at it, beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.
Complete opposite here, face trumps the body big time, you can always get more fit and thus increase the perception of health and fertility. What can you do about the face? Nothing.
What you look like is good and all. But what makes the guy at 4:26 attractive isn't solely his face, it's his eye contact. He's a guy that never moves back. No matter what you do, he doesn't move back. That's the ultimate characteristic for a guy, he could look away or be shy or something and the spell breaks. Gym my good guys. Gym all day.
9:29 I actually find prominent aquiline noses of many women attractive, to me, and even if I didn't I wouldn't choose to call these natural traits "imperfections" as though beauty itself is an objective attribute. if the goal is to motivate more clientele for the cosmetic industry, I understand why promoting insecurities is good for business. I rather stay true to an objective analysis, or be clear when switching to opinionated judgments. I could accept a simple fact that some survey found most participants preferred or disliked some trait which I'm fond of, since I'd be content to have a minority opinion. Only objecting to beauty claims about perfection in what is ostensibly presented as an objective context. Is very destructive for public mental health and respect. Something I value even more than I like aesthetics. that's all :) p.s. I do take value from your videos, as an artist, which is why I watch.

Yes! I waited for these topics but he never talked about it
In my opinion, he covered many important things in this video, yes the things you said do contribute to how attractive a masculine face is, but they're minimal and nobody points out any of these things unless they're really below average.
Ie for ipd, unless the person has way to far set eyes nobody is gonna care unless it's some top modelling industry.
For the things you listed as long as they're some what average then the guy will still be considered attracitve
Let us blackpillers down
@ 12 means nothing you can have thin eyebrows as long as they compliment your face with other masculine features ie jaw.
Chin to philtrum ratio means a lot I'll give you that one
You can appear to change the size of your neurocranium by changing your hairstyle and using curly hair if it's too big or covering your forehead. Splanchocranium cna be changed by beards as he mentioned in the video
Aqeel Younus is there no way to get thicker eyebrows?
Please make a video on males with feminine faces and females with masculine faces
What are "pretty boy features"
You can Google pretty boy and you'll see what he means. They are basically androgynous dudes that appear youthful and kinda feminine but at the same time they have some really strong masculine features mostly jawline that makes them still appear masculine. Idk how to explain that's how I have it in my mind.
Things like high cheekbonen, long eyelashes and a small nose, are exceptions of "pretty boy" features
The TikTok kid Vinnie Hacker comes to mind. Very strong bone structure with very youthful appearing facial features.
If i have to provide an example... young Alain Delon's face (French actor)
@@Idk-kd7lo I think it means being handsome and looking young david gandy was a pretty boy when he was younger same with sean opry
strong brows & jawlines but with slightly softer eyes & cheeks is really enchanting for me
Women care most about eyes and eyebrows/lips imo

70% masculine face combine with 30% feminine trait made you handsome. Also personality and aura made it better. I suggest you see alain delon

If you got this right (sharp & proportional nose + not protruded upper jaw & proportional lips ) then subtle variation can be overshadowed easily.

I kinda wish he would include more diverse faces for his models.
beauty standards are not diverse, sadly. That’s the reason. We all know that skin color plays a big role in these situations.
Even though black people in particular have no set phenotype like white people, we can be lightskinned, chocolate brown or cobalt blue in skin tone, our lips can be thin or full, our hair straight curly or afro.

I’ve been going for over 5 years now and my face looks better, younger now than when I started. Not by much but small things that make a big difference. I have a very angular face and keeping it plump and not to gaunt is my goal 🥅
I have full lips and was teased about it as a kid bcuz they looked so big on my child size face but once puberty hit everything evened out. I wanted my top lip bigger and my MD said instead of filler to use Botox to relax the muscles around the mouth and it made a big difference. If he had added filler I could’ve looked too big and unnatural. He’s big on making small tweaks, give a few weeks then come back in and reassess. I have very high testosterone levels for a man and I'm stuck with thin eyebrows but a massive jaw + chin. The thin eyebrows are due to low iron and thyroid issues.
@@dejuanmoore2064 Nah. The hormone estrogen is the reason women have such thick hairlines and eyelashes. Female dogs tend to have much thicker eyelashes. It's extremely feminine.
I'm quite insensitive to estrogen as a man and I have no eyelashes and zero lips.
Please analyse 'Hrithik Roshan's' face, he is the one with the ideal jaw in your "defining beauty : jaws episode", and please explain how an Indian can have such greek like features, like a sharp and straight nose, sharp chin, ideal jaw and hazel green eyes, and also conclude why does he regularly feature in various magazines as the the most handsome man in the world
or Jeremy Meeks
I Googled him. His jawline is good but not remarkable. He has a narrow face which makes his jawline less 3d compared to actors like Henry Cavil and Robert Pattinson who frankly smoke him.
Royal Zak would you say he has a longer face as I’ve been wondering ?
@@techunboxings4485 yeh.
@@royalzak2670 It's not about having an over-accentuated jawline, like a protruding one, it's more about how all the the other features perfectly harmonise with his jawline, hrithik has narrow face shape and similarly, a narrow nose and narrow chin, adding a 3desque jawline will not harmonise well with his other features, it's not always about having a 'square shaped face', and plus if you see the narrator's "how jaw defines beauty episode", he clearly mentions Hrithik's jaw as to being the ideal as per a poll conducted
Please do an analysis on Vinnie Hacker, he’s blowing up right now. He has “pretty boy” features, full lips, long eyelashes, almond shaped eyes, shaven face. But at the same time he does have a very strong jawline. In my opinion he is one of the most attractive guys I’ve ever seen.
Sounds like you just did the analysis yourself lol
S.M. Hahaha yes ur right. But I want a full depth analysis, he’s so gorgeous I have no words
He is just a classic exemple of well developed facial bones and symmetry. Its not that deep
@@loosecannon6142 cut her some slack, the number of guys who actually have model level facial structure is so small that whenever girls actually see a guy that handsome they become extremely infatuated, where as men weve become numb to model tier beauty because girls have mastered makeup to the point of contouring and changing the facial structure appearance. The only time a guy will be blown away is when a girl is model level with no makeup or they have a unique look along with great facial structure
@@Southforthewinter so guys don’t find girls super beautiful unless they are naturally beautiful without need of makeup?
I have some androgynous features, and i am only attracted to men’s faces that are a good counterpart to mine, I’m not attracted to a guy with a smaller jaw, nose, head(?), etc in comparison to myself, thankfully I’m with the perfect guy inside and out to me, I remember my subconscious scanning him for compatibility from across the distance when i first saw him years ago! 😬😅
The most attractive masculine face is the ones with masculine faces like a strong lower third, so strong super orbital bone with hunter eyes but with feminine whiles like nice flowing hair and LONG dark thick eyelashes. Also thick lips
Does bedroom eyes count?
Zayn doesn't have "hunter eyes"
@@gauravsimon367 Small amt of upper eyelid exposure so its good
@@RANDOM-pf1ve hmm
Eyebrows are key! I have the lower third (strong chiseled jawline + chin), yet women never show any form of interest when I approach.
these videos actually make me feel better about my self lol
It is interesting to see just how insignificant the overall difference is between masculine male face and feminine male faces and feminine female faces and masculine female faces. The chart at 4:10 indicates about a quarter point for the former and perhaps half of that for the latter. This is also in the attractive groupd. The unattractive group saw even smaller differences. This just shows that sexual dimorphism, although relevant, is barely significant.
dude do you have any advice to be more handsome like mewing or bonesmashing I wish you a good day thanks in advance
thank you for this. been waiting so long.
This Statistics, and I do think Mathematics is a branch of it not other way, is pretty good for stimulating the Mind and just good overall education. Excellent place to begin practice (delightful) or training (rigorous.)
I have a masculine face, thanks to my dad. A good jawline and thick eyebrows. It has worked in my favor and makes attracting women pretty easy.
The eyebrows are more important.....I have a jawline that is compared to dolph lundren from rocky, yet I get NO women. My free testosterone is higher than 99% of men for my age.....teenage levels in my 30s
@@bl4ckpillsl4y3r3 I don’t think it’s your jaw or eyebrows the issue
@@bl4ckpillsl4y3r3 how’s your skin? Are you fat?
Square jawline are attractive for women and it's feminine too
I'd love to see a Natalia Poklonskaya video, the Russian internet waifu.
Natasha Poly?
Definitely having your bones stick out of your face prominently. It makes you look "rugged" and confirms that you should be in facial hair commercials.
I have to get my nose fixed soon for medical issues (I get severe nasal infections like every 6 weeks) and a few people told me that fact it looks very slightly broken makes look more masculine. I think that’s dumb but let’s see if I look more or less handsome after surgery
Thanks alot for explaining these interesting info to us!,
Could you please do an analysis video on the face of Ryo Yoshizawa, I think it is interesting to break down what makes him attractive!
Please do a video analyzing Justine Skye, SZA and A$AP Rocky 🥺🥺🥺
I love iiiiiiitttttt, i love qoves vids
Can you talk about the balance of masculine and feminine features and analyzing Madison Beer’s face and why her face is so attractive?
She's had facial plastic surgery so I don't think she's a good example. Her appearance is modified
@@calebj8134
False ⚠️
@@statetrooper2345 it’s actually true because it’s very obvious she has had work done but either way she is still beautiful
Love how you included Adam Driver in this video!!! I love him so fucking much
Dustin Claire from spartacus has a good combination of femanine/masculine. Steven Segal has masculine look all the way but still handsome, also both men have thinner lips..I think variety and how all of your features match together and good genetics are also the key.
Since covid I've increased attractiveness by 50%
Can’t relate

There should be more research done into facial features that affect perceived masculinity and femininity but don't make the face more attractive. I feel like there are a lot of facial details that make a face look more masculine but don't make male faces look more attractive.
Maybe an analizing Akin Akinozu's face? I've never seen a man such attractive as him, my mom would agree lol. Please consider it
Very unpopular opinion: The narrator's voice is really annoying.
However, for some reason, it works and I wouldn't have it any other way.
completely agree
i was always insecure about my big lips but apparently they are masculine traits
Jimin from BTS has big lips and he is considered one of the most attractive men ever.
Actually estrogen adds fat to the lip area. Males or women taking estrogen experience fat redistribution to the cheek and lip area.
Wide and thin lips are most androgenic or masculine, not fatty lips.
Ur lips have to be in a way that's masculine. Wide lips that don't go downwards or upwards
Big lips have been considered the ideal for like a decade now
me too
I'm a guy with a very long ring finger Hella hairy gain muscle pretty easy but have the most feminine face so idk about that being a facial indicator
Keen as a green bean good to see you again!!
