These videos communicate fashion advice so clearly, it’s insane. Loving the simple explainer graphics that overlay the footage. The minimal art direction, set, colour palette, it’s all *chef’s kiss*
This is what makes Tim unique from the other youtubers, he frankly points out what he used to wear in the past and compare them from different point of view unlike other you tubers who tends to hide what they wore in the past.
you're advice is 100% correct.if you wanna conceal your body complex and flaws, styling is all about proportion, appropriate cut and silhouette and right choice of color.choosing the right colors and print can affect your total look and body shape.
Remember everyone. No matter how much you alter your style to make yourself *appear* taller, eventually you're going to have to meet people in person. Don't stress about it too much. Dress however makes you happy. Something like avoiding belts because they make you look shorter is just limiting yourself from enjoying one of fashion's best and most functional accessories.
Tim goes through the effort of THREE separate disclaimers and a specific disclaimer for belts; yet here we are still getting these dumbass “wear what you want” comments on every single video. Nobody thinks we’re not meeting in person, nobody is trying to change their height, nobody said you can’t wear belts. He’s just giving tips to dress more proportionately to your body we don’t need your little smartass superior comments you’re just criticizing for the sake of it.
This is about the best video on this topic. A few things I'll note: 1. You can get away with a belt or the gap between the bottom of pants and shoes by wearing a belt and socks that match your pants color, respectively. 2. You're right about the monochrome. Which means that realistically, black on black makes sense to be a staple of a person with short leg's wardrobe. 3. Tapered pants usually make the most sense for short legs, especially if they're not thick legs. Levi's 512 imo looks better on me than 511, which feel baggy. 4. I always thought wearing shoes that matched your pants color helped for the streamlined visual effect. 5. Honestly if you have short legs you should just wear all black everywhere.
The disclaimer part is why I love your videos. I like how you and Marcel florus always mention that style is about personal taste and you never force your viewers to follow the 'rules'.
I'm on the shorter side and everything you just mentioned I noticed myself and applied before. These are some great tips! Listen to this guy. Btw I like that you mentioned that even if u know these tips you can wear stuff that you simply like. I love my mid length thrifted leather jacket so I'm gonna wear it!
super nice video. As a short person myself, I completely agree about the jackets/coats part. I've been leaning towards either a full-length coat or cropped ones to make my silhouette look longer.
None of this is helpful cuz this is too basic. Can't even suggest an idea that I have in mind. U don't know what I like. None of this is useful buy entertaining lol. I should be the one who should bring tips to his videos.

Tim! I’m a shorter man with a bit of a belly. I love the look of high waisted pants but I don’t feel confident wearing them. Do you have any advice for chubby boys who want to give high waisted pants a shot?
i don’t get it, in a past video a few years ago you essentially said short guys should just wear what they want and not dress for their height. why the change in philosophy? You also said that “boost” is pretty much only useful when a person is the only one in a photo or when they’re in the distance.
I agree with the jackets. I'm 5,4 and I have to wear short jackets, unfortunately. Over the years, when I was younger I didn't know about these hacks, so I kinda made a fool of myself sometimes with long jackets. I love love jackets but I absolutely cannot wear them or I will look like a dwarf. Great tips Tim. Take care.
Wow! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Where were you, Tim?!? I’m married to a wonderful short legs man. I’ve been trying to help him unsuccessfully until finding you and this video. Thanks a lot!
I believe the proportion of the top to bottom relative to the body plays a significant role for men under 5'7" with an average to larger build. Those with a lanky build can pull off most outfits. As a shorter Asian guy at 5'7" with a bit of extra weight, I find it challenging to wear high-rise bottoms with a tucked-in top. I typically opt for wide or relaxed-fit bottoms, but I have to be particularly mindful of the length of the bottoms and the hem of the top. These factors can disrupt my proportions more readily than they might for a taller individual. I usually don't tuck in my casual wear because I haven't yet found a way to make a tucked-in t-shirt look flattering on me. Finally, I am hitting the gym every day to shed the extra weight i have!
Hey Tim, great video. If you're taking in video suggestiongs, a guide what you had at 1:41 on the very left would be nice (Or the general style). It's something a tad on the posh side, but it would be nice as I'm a man who is moving to the professional world from school very soon and I feel like I really want to up my style to be something refined and respectable, that isn't just wearing a sport coat. But anyway, keep up the great work man!
Tbh, I think you look a lot better when your top and bottoms are different colors instead of monochrome. You’re probably some sort of gamin in the Kibbe system, and the color blocking is harmonious w your contrasting proportions, and doesn’t shorten you at all imo.
Fantastic as usual, but just want to point out that 1:57 is not a fair conveyance of the visual improvement to color changes because you also altered the rise and tucked the shirt in, which is the real workhorse here.
I'm 41 and 5' 3. Thanks for these tips Tim. Definitely it will help a lot. Also, a question, will a Gurkha Pants help us elongate our legs because it's a High rise pants?... Hoping to hear from you and hope you can make a video of it too. That being said, thank you so much and God bless Tim. ❤
Love your videos. Can you do some videos on how you care for clothing and shoes? I have a decent amount of pricey sweaters, sweatshirts, and pants that I don’t know the best way to wash them, how often, do you just hang them back up after wearing etc.
Not owning a belt is so wild to me. As a guy that does a lot of physical labor, jeans and cargo pants and belts and belt loops are just such an integral part of my everyday life ever since I was a little country boy.
I know the struggle, every top is eating my torso entirely, even cropped jackets leave only small portion of the fly exposed. I think monochrome looks, lower rise pants, making sure the t-shirts aren't too long and fall around mid fly (I have a few Sauce Zhan ones in size Small that are perfect) might be some advices. Recently I started to wear my mid rise pants a bit lower on hips and it helps the proportions a bit as well. I still try to figure out the best looking fits, though. YMMV, because every body is different. Try on diffent things, take full length photos/videos of yourself and use your best judgement.
