I really think the Nintendo switch two will be just as good be just as big and I like the how the hell you can use the joy cons for a mouse The which one never did that but it’s still good and you can use play different games on it and you can play a Nintendo Switch Online games and think about it for those people who didn’t get to play all those older game systems. They get to play it on the switch too me personally I’m gonna play game keep games and Nintendo Wii games on my switch since it’s capable of doing that I heard it does that so there’s really no reason to sit there and be negative and a bellyache and complainover something that hadn’t even happened yet who is really here in America held the Nintendo switch too yet
All we could ask for at this point is more performance and that's exactly what Nintendo gave us. We don't need more new gimmicks that we would rarely use. It's the same deal with PS4 and PS5, just more performance with a new gimmick and that's totally cool. The larger screen on switch 2 is an obvious welcome change. The mouse gimmick is intriguing, but who knows what that'll do except for the obvious use case of a mouse and that's to play shooters like you would on a PC.
People just like to complain. The important thing is majority of the Nintendo Fans are excited about the Switch 2. Let's just wait for the Nintendo Direct on April 2nd so that we can know more about it.

This will be kind of long so I do apologize in advance but bear with me here; considering how things have changed so much throughout ALL of the gaming industry for the last 8 years, with game development becoming so much harder and games taking much longer to come out, the kind of revolution that Nintendo has created with the Switch 1 and and the hybrid formula has evolved overtime to the point of handheld gaming not only making a comeback, but also having modern handheld devices that are PCs and still being able to play huge home console games on it, the hybrid formula is basically the perfect definitive middle ground that Nintendo has set for themselves basically forever, where they have a system that's not only so seamless and convenient it is in functionality, but also making it easier than ever for Nintendo to develop games since they can just make any type of game they want while managing to please everyone that likes either home console or handheld play styles, the hybrid formula is the future for Nintendo for them to still remain in the hardware business for more decades to come. There's also the factor that handheld gaming is extremely important for them, Nintendo has historically has always been more successful in the handheld gaming pillar than the home console one since their home console just performed less and less as each system came out, them merging the home console and handheld divisions all into 1 umbrella is the best decision they've ever made because things have changed so much in the industry, they can no longer go for the 2 pillar approach for systems because not only is it so outdated, but also because it's so unsustainable and would make game development even harder than it already is. If they made an home only console again, it wouldn't sell all too well since people go for Sony and Microsoft for those kinds of massive triple A experiences. Couple that it'd cause massive alienation, for their audiences if they separated their divisions again which they DON'T want because they want to have 1 single ecosystem for them to complete 100% control over and have every type of gamer come in to consume their products regardless of what tastes and preferences they may have and that's one of the biggest reasons the Switch 1 did extremely well. They managed to appeal to both hardcore and casual fans more than what the Wii did since that console was a fad rather than making everyone truly be invested on it in the long term, and the variety of control options and have games be designed for not only fans to love, but also for casuals to get behind without dumbing down the design philosophy of any modern Nintendo game in any capacity. Them going all in fully with the hybrid direction for their hardware business in the future doesn't mean that their quirkiness, innovation, and soul is all gone because compared to Sony and Microsoft, while Nintendo made a traditional console again with the Switch since for the most part isn't really a gimmicky console, they've still managed to make gimmicks and innovations in a new different way this time around and most fans don't really realize that. They've made it so (and PROVEN) that they can still be innovative with quirky concepts without integrating them into the main hardware itself and we've seen examples of that like Nintendo Labo, Ring Fit Adventure with the Ring-Con, they leg strap for Switch Sports, that's literally the perfect middle ground that they've set for themselves and so, they can make more and more Switch generations while still maintaining the Nintendo-ness of them like they've always been because that's just how Nintendo does things. And so, it's perfectly fine for Nintendo to be going in the direction it's going because not only does it benefit them, but also us the fans and general consumers as well with us getting more games than we've ever gotten more than ever before along with the convenience of having seamless home console and handheld play, and as long as they keep things consistent and still so much quality and quantity releases coming out along with still maintaining the Nintendo nature of their stuff, I think things will be perfectly fine for the Switch 2. I'm extremely excited for what's to come.

For some bizzare reason, the Nintendo fandom has been becoming more and more insufferable ever since the Wii U and 3Ds Era. Now it's even more of nuisance ever since Smash Bros Ultimate permanently damaged the fandom to even more levels of insufferable where you don't want to interact with any Nintendo fan. Things weren't like this during the Wii era even other console gens before that. It's a shame that the fandom as a whole has became more and more toxic over the years.

Keeping the same form factor makes every bit of sence and changing it up for something completely new would make absolutely no sence whatsoever. The current form factor where you can play at home on your big screen OR take the system with you on the go is genius and that’s what so many people want and has gotten used to. As you say. People certainly don’t want that to go away anytime soon. And by keeping the form factor, there is really not much Nintendo could do to change it up. Changing it up too much would result in the system becoming something else other than it is and that would be a negative thing and A LOT of people would be dissapointed and even maybe not buy the system. Switch 2 looks perfect and couldn’t be better really. It’s a big improvement on a great form factor and it will sell millions and millions and people will be happy with it. That’s my take on it. But really, these people don’t appreciate anything Nintendo does. They really really despise Nintendo and they do everything to talk down on everything they do. Super Nintendo Switch would be a cool name like with the Super Famicom. I got to say it is nice when Princess Peach is wearing her iconic dress while she is driving a motorbike that would have been a moped like those step-through pedal bikes. Donkey Kong appears to be based on his arcade design, which is nice.

The joycons having mouse functionality is already innovation, I imagine being able to use it for typing when in tv mode more easily for example, we all wanted a more powerful Switch, but just how different can it possibly be? it's a tablet in its core after all and it's got 2 usbc ports which brings a lot of commodities and functionality.
My Nintendo Switch 2 predictions. 1 The extra button on the joycon that everyone thinks is a c button is not a button it's actually a small mouse trackpad like on the Legion Go S That way you can still use the mouse function while the joycons are attached 2. There will be a camera that attaches to the top usb port for video chat but you will look like your MII character on screen
7:41 the the Lenovo legion go’s FPS mode. I never used it lol, but i think thats probably more functional than the mouse on the joy-con straps. Im going to have to test out that FPS mode….. i just want something more capable for good 3rd party games on…. Something thats not got allot of internet required DRM.
I’m actually quite hyped for the switch 2. I had to defend it because my older brother said that it was soulless, which I explained to him that it was already confirmed to be a switch 2 instead of something new. I can’t really find much fault in this console. However, I really don’t want a switch 3 or beyond. Switch 2 is really cool, but that’s as far as I want it. I feel like Nintendo would truly be nothing but a soulless money hungry corporation if they would just market off the switch and the switch only. Luckily, a switch 3 would probably sell pretty bad, which would force them to innovate. All in all, I’m definitely getting myself a switch 2.

The silliest take I heard was “Switch 2 should be delayed, Nintendo is now a gen ahead.” Flies in the ointment however being that the Switch singular is way out of date and Nintendo has already been a generation behind anyway (I doubt the system will be anymore powerful than a PS4 at minimum, of course the PS5 in my eyes is hardly an improvement and is at best a PS4 with a better fan). I passed on the OLED because the SW2’s existence was already the most poorly kept secret and it’ll be backwards compatible with I imagine the majority of the existing catalog. Me personally I would’ve liked the “Super Switch” name more but I wager Nintendo didn’t want to risk confusing people as badly as the WiiU did. Also the Switch 2’s inevitable existence is milquetoast compared to Nintendo’s other, far more “soulless” tendencies.
I'm curious to see what else will be presented in detail for the Switch 2 in April 2025. There is only one tiny question for me personally before I would buy the console: Will (most) games on the Switch 2 run with an FPS boost, so to speak, if a game was only 20 - 25 FPS on the Switch 1, will such a game run at 60 FPS? For example, “Kirby and the Forgotten Land”: this game runs at a solid 30 FPS on the Switch 1, but felt choppy, so this is the one million question, would this specific game run at 60 FPS like most other Kirby games on the Switch? That's been my main criticism for the Switch 1, that most indie games don't even hit 30 FPS and that the Switch 1 is too weak.
I would love for the system to be more innovative but, the Wii U wasn’t really a new idea. It was a console version of the DS. The 3DS came out before the Wii U and it didn’t help at all. The Wii U had huge problems. The Switch 2 doesn’t have those issues. Also Nintendo never made a Garbage Handheld system. The virtual boy isn’t a handheld.
Neither was the Idea of Motion controls, Touchscreen, 3D, Virtual Reality, or playing console-quality games on the go. What mattered was how It was executed. The Wii U was a logical step considering the success of the Wii and DS, and it did have games that were proof of its concept (Nintendo Land, Mario Maker, etc.). All it was is Nintendo’s failure to properly market it as a Next Generation System, killing all the momentum it could’ve had. That’s why the Switch had such a great start to begin with.
Look at this point I an just happy they didn't name it the New Switch U, lol. There's a lot more going under the hood than above it, which is what I thought what we wanted? The big thing that I see people complaining about, and for good reason, is the controllers being contected via magnets, which makes them not super child-friendly.

There are plenty more options out there for handheld hybrids now. I think Nintendo should've added something more enticing to the Switch to win them over from their Decks or Rog Ally or Legion Go. Real analog sticks would've been nice, Analog triggers. Maybe a swappable d-pad instead of being forced to use buttons. Wireless docking would be amazing. If they're gonna make the Switch bigger, why not add better grips to the Joy cons. You're not putting the Switch 2 in your pocket. Also, the people who don't obsess on social media have these takes are the people that Nintendo wants to buy this, and they seem confused like people were during the Wii U days. Nintendo gave what their consumer base wants; a new and improved Switch! I can see why some people aren't that super excited with the trailer due to the leaks but I couldn't have asked for a better reveal. People who are depressed really need to get over the snowflake emotionalism LOL. The trailer is exactly what the Switch successor should be! The fact that it is still a Switch and that Nintendo didnt depart from the portable/dock feature but improved along with the physical and digital backward compatibility almost ensures success for this console. It's either Nintendo departs from what made the original Switch successful and you get excited and overwhelmed about the new gimmick but the console fails like the Wii U. Or Nintendo sticks with what made the original Switch successful and improve on it every 5-6 years with the Switch 3, Switch 4, Switch 5 etc and you get underwhelmed and cry like a dog due to the leaks or lack of gimmickry but the console sells even more than the original Switch. Super Nintendo Switch would be a cool name like with the Super Famicom. I got to say it is nice when Princess Peach is wearing her iconic dress while she is driving a motorbike that would have been a moped like those step-through pedal bikes. Donkey Kong appears to be based on his arcade design, which is nice.

The joycons having mouse functionality is already innovation, I imagine being able to use it for typing when in tv mode more easily for example, we all wanted a more powerful Switch, but just how different can it possibly be? it's a tablet in its core after all and it's got 2 usbc ports which brings a lot of commodities and functionality.
People saying Switch 2 is a bad name, have the maturity of a new born kitten.
Nothing is more clear then a simple number, clean and to the point.
The few Switch games that used the IR camera, will be compatible with Switch 2, because you can use the right OG joy con via Bluetooth.

My Nintendo Switch 2 predictions.
1 The extra button on the joycon that everyone thinks is a c button is not a button it's actually a small mouse trackpad like on the Legion Go S
That way you can still use the mouse function while the joycons are attached
2. There will be a camera that attaches to the top usb port for video chat but you will look like your MII character on screen
7:41 the the Lenovo legion go’s FPS mode. I never used it lol, but i think thats probably more functional than the mouse on the joy-con straps. Im going to have to test out that FPS mode….. i just want something more capable for good 3rd party games on…. Something thats not got allot of internet required DRM.
I’m actually quite hyped for the switch 2. I had to defend it because my older brother said that it was soulless, which I explained to him that it was already confirmed to be a switch 2 instead of something new. I can’t really find much fault in this console. However, I really don’t want a switch 3 or beyond. Switch 2 is really cool, but that’s as far as I want it. I feel like Nintendo would truly be nothing but a soulless money hungry corporation if they would just market off the switch and the switch only. Luckily, a switch 3 would probably sell pretty bad, which would force them to innovate. All in all, I’m definitely getting myself a switch 2.

Well the Big N did something innovative and creative and no one appreciated "The Wii U" and true they really didnt support the console and the marketing was unusual but to me it was explained what it was. As a gamer I figured it out quick....

Honestly, the name is better but I think casual gamers will think it a better version of the Switch 1 because Playstation uses the name “pro” for a better version of the already existing console.

This console is going to be incredible, and whether Nintendo intends for it to or not, it's going to compete directly with PS5. I don't think it'll compete with Microsoft, only for the fact that Microsoft is currently romanticizing Nintendo, aka all Xbox "exclusives" will most likely come to Switch 2 as well. Eat your heart out Sony.

The silliest take I heard was “Switch 2 should be delayed, Nintendo is now a gen ahead.” Flies in the ointment however being that the Switch singular is way out of date and Nintendo has already been a generation behind anyway (I doubt the system will be anymore powerful than a PS4 at minimum, of course the PS5 in my eyes is hardly an improvement and is at best a PS4 with a better fan). I passed on the OLED because the SW2’s existence was already the most poorly kept secret and it’ll be backwards compatible with I imagine the majority of the existing catalog. Me personally I would’ve liked the “Super Switch” name more but I wager Nintendo didn’t want to risk confusing people as badly as the WiiU did.
Also the Switch 2’s inevitable existence is milquetoast compared to Nintendo’s other, far more “soulless” tendencies.
I'm curious to see what else will be presented in detail for the Switch 2 in April 2025. There is only one tiny question for me personally before I would buy the console: Will (most) games on the Switch 2 run with an FPS boost, so to speak, if a game was only 20 - 25 FPS on the Switch 1, will such a game run at 60 FPS? For example, “Kirby and the Forgotten Land”: this game runs at a solid 30 FPS on the Switch 1, but felt choppy, so this is the one million question, would this specific game run at 60 FPS like most other Kirby games on the Switch?
That's been my main criticism for the Switch 1, that most indie games don't even hit 30 FPS and that the Switch 1 is too weak.

I would love for the system to be more innovative but, the Wii U wasn’t really a new idea. It was a console version of the DS. The 3DS came out before the Wii U and it didn’t help at all. The Wii U had huge problems. The Switch 2 doesn’t have those issues. Also Nintendo never made a Garbage Handheld system. The virtual boy isn’t a handheld.
Neither was the Idea of Motion controls, Touchscreen, 3D, Virtual Reality, or playing console-quality games on the go. What mattered was how It was executed. The Wii U was a logical step considering the success of the Wii and DS, and it did have games that were proof of its concept (Nintendo Land, Mario Maker, etc.).
All it was is Nintendo’s failure to properly market it as a Next Generation System, killing all the momentum it could’ve had. That’s why the Switch had such a great start to begin with.
Look at this point I an just happy they didn't name it the New Switch U, lol. There's a lot more going under the hood than above it, which is what I thought what we wanted? The big thing that I see people complaining about, and for good reason, is the controllers being contected via magnets, which makes them not super child-friendly.
I'm enjoying my neon switch oled i had it for 5 months now and it still a great console like why spend $400 or how much the price will be on the switch 2 and you can just still play the original switch in my opinion i think the oled is better than the original switch and the switch lite

Nintendo, the most damn if you do, damn if you don't company of all time. I lowkey wish they would do a Wii U like blunder this time because apparently that generation could do no wrong and these type of people either weren't there for that generation and started to jump on the Switch bandwagon, or it was their first console and nostalgia is a hell of a drug. But hey, people want that despite the low install base, terrible marketing, and the media downplayed that console every change they got. It's like these complainers are sadists and prefer when Nintendo is at their lowest points or something because "mah soul" whatever tf that means these days on the internet.

There are plenty more options out there for handheld hybrids now. I think Nintendo should've added something more enticing to the Switch to win them over from their Decks or Rog Ally or Legion Go. Real analog sticks would've been nice, Analog triggers. Maybe a swappable d-pad instead of being forced to use buttons. Wireless docking would be amazing. If they're gonna make the Switch bigger, why not add better grips to the Joy cons. You're not putting the Switch 2 in your pocket. Also, the people who don't obsess on social media have these takes are the people that Nintendo wants to buy this, and they seem confused like people were during the Wii U days. Hopefully, they do better, and don't just assume the console will speak for itself. They shadow dropped the Switch 2 out of nowhere, and no one I talked to knows about it. Lol.

Nintendo gave what their consumer base wants; a new and improved Switch! I can see why some people aren't that super excited with the trailer due to the leaks but I couldn't have asked for a better reveal. People who are depressed really need to get over the snowflake emotionalism LOL. The trailer is exactly what the Switch successor should be! The fact that it is still a Switch and that Nintendo didnt depart from the portable/dock feature but improved along with the physical and digital backward compatibility almost ensures success for this console. It's either Nintendo departs from what made the original Switch successful and you get excited and overwhelmed about the new gimmick but the console fails like the Wii U. Or Nintendo sticks with what made the original Switch successful and improve on it every 5-6 years with the Switch 3, Switch 4, Switch 5 etc and you get underwhelmed and cry like a dog due to the leaks or lack of gimmickry but the console sells even more than the original Switch. The new name 'Nintendo Switch 2', the new screen and joycons and the backwards compatibility is exactly what Nintendo need to ensure success! And marketing for future consoles couldn't be much more easier and effective with 'Switch 3, Switch 4, Switch 5 ect etc! This is exactly what people were hoping for. The numerical way worked for Sony and it'll surely work for Njntendo as well. Nintendo do not want another WIi U failure which these critics obviously want. They want Nintendo to fail! Of course Nintendo will play it safe! Why destroy a proven formula? If it ain't broke DON'T FIX IT!! Nintendo can just focus on the joycons for new gimmickry if possible every 5-6 years to satisfy the entitled few as long as those joycons attaches to the screen. And it isn't the hardware that sells the console. It's the games! And these will just get better and better in every new versions of the Switch! Don't pay much attention to the haters! Just enjoy their incoherent criticisms! Well done Nintendo! And the Switch is just the dream console if you're a physical collector who don't have much space in your home and is always on the go. It's portable/dock feature and size is too hard to resist!
