    I put standard (not heavy duty) 412s on my '09 RG. Improvement over stock. Never bottomed out even on the lowest setting. I'm 180 lb plus gear. Lot of dudes on here saying these are junk. Was not my experience. Adjustability is a pain, but still better than stock and a good tradeoff from paying $1K for a set of the trendy shit.

    If your riding alone great if your riding two-up no goog. I went from stock air shocks to Prog 412 12.5" to 412 13.5" and now 944 UT 13" but sit 12.5"much better than previous ones.

    I got the inspiration for my roadglide from your bike dude. I was going to put a Willie G sticker on the bag but I loved ur look so I went with it. I put progressive suspension on my bike. That was my first mod, I think it was 444s or 445. It was a while ago.

    I went even further on my 2019 FLTRXS, I really liked how my 2017 FLTRXS sat. Although I'm 6'1" I liked the feeling of inside the bike vice on top of the bike. So I put super low shocks on (at a cost of $760) and got a 16 inch rear wheel off a 2017 RG. The bike handles well in the curves living in the country of Central VA.
    So if u need a 2019 rear wheel and tire with 3KMiles on it, I'll sell it cheap....

    When you look in the Harley accessories they do not show rear shocks for lowering but offer a kit to lower the front end. Wouldn't that have been better? Now you only have about 1'' of rear shock travel I think?

    The H-D stock shocks are only adjustable on the left side; the right shock is a slave. The left controls the compression and rebound. The right assists as a slave.

  • @1962egl
    @1962egl 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Get the legend revo A's 13" in the rear and the legend axio std front cartridges. The 13" revo A's have the same ride height as stock but have an inch more travel. Huge difference in ride quality. The axio cartridges drop the front 3/4" but increase the travel on the front end. The front end sucks more on these bikes than the rear. Everyone always go to the rear shocks first but the front is where it is at. The rear is for comfort but the front is for performance. I am 5'7" also and I run this setup. You do not want to decrease travel on these bikes , you want to increase travel while not increasing ride height. This set up levels the bike drops the front end a little , puts you flat footed, increases the suspension travel and gives comfort in the rear and performance in the front. The only down side is cost. You looking at about $1,800 parts only. I know it sounds crazy but it will be the best money you will ever spend on your bike.

      Totally agree that shorter shocks bottom out. I’m 190 lbs (with gear, jacket, shoes, etc...) and medium setting on the shocks bottom out on me and any setting above medium is too stiff (standard spring).I had the shorter 11” 444’s but then got the 12” 444’s (still standard spring) and it mad a whole lot of difference. I have it set to 3 full turns from the base and it’s perfect for solo and 2-up. I think there were instructions to flip the shocks...upside down so that the top would clear. That’s what I did with mine.
