Star Wars: Episode 1 - Racer (Podracer) 100% beaten in 1 hour 17 minutes and 33 second.
Including an Amateur Circuit Speedrun in 20:14
Both runs (100% and Amateur Circuit) are World Records as of 25/02/2022.
The 100% category requires me to get first on all tracks, from a fresh save file.
The fastest way of doing this is using the junkyard to earn money quickly and buy top level parts very early on, this however adds a lot of RNG to the run, making it very rare to even get on a pace like this.
Due to this it is very nerve racking once you actually get good RNG because you still have to nail all of the hard skips during the remaining hour of the run, hence my nervousness.
This run uses skips so if that isn't what you like check out the leaderboards for no skip runs.
I will say though that the skips certainly add a lot of entertainment value and add a lot of difficult execution based tricks to the run, making it much harder to achieve a good time.

FUCK Abyss. It's all I can do to not finish last when I can breeze through most of the rest of the game. So glad there's a skip

@@shmurflHD I used to play this game with a flight joystick when the game came out, and I just bought it on Switch this week. Abyss is soo much harder with the Joycons (and a hurt thumb) than the joystick. To be fair, I am doing the game w/o upgrades, but even slowing down for those turns can absolutely end your run if you aren't perfect on the rest of the track.
Good lord my brother. This is a crazy WR. I used to "speed play" this game as a kid. Try to get the absolute fastest times I could get not realizing that speed running was a thing.
This is like the coolest thing ever to me because I grew up trying (horribly lol I wasn't very good at this game) to play this game as fast as possible.
As a Bullseye fan, it was great to see him included in this speedrun. Great tricks!
man, i discovered racer 1 week ago, became a huge fan very quickly, then just discovered your videos and im realizing this game is truly an interstellar gem OMG, goat game, GREAT JOB BTW for the insane speed runs
i played this game so many times as a kid, but its mind blowing how many secret passages there are on some maps i never knew about :|

Loved this game as a kid, been recently loving it again since it's come out on the PS4, keep coming back to your runs as I still can't believe how fast you are at it lol
I knew a bit of this game, but it wasn't until Executioner that my jaw hit the floor. That was my favorite track as a kid and I had no idea that skip existed.

I only wish I could see the course map so I could tell where you are jumping to more clearly. I have trouble seeing the details of the course so fast and could never see well enough to go this fast! Well done!

Watching the practice track record was wild. Cause it seems like a huge time savor. But my record is I think 45 or 48 seconds.
Also is there an advantage of turning to the side rather than driving flat?
Noticed he did it around corners then stayed like tht around tight areas maybe less likely to crash when your 5 times thinner
i think thats the only reason, but there were times where he said "gotta love the tolt method" and stayed tilted across long straight areas in the tracks. So, idk. but as for turns like you said, thats the only times I tilt and it helps immensely.@@seankessens5148
First of all, great run. I'm blown away.
Second: Forgive me for not understanding, but what is the difference between 100% and any% in this game? You are doing many skips in the tracks, like Tatooine- is that not considered any% rather than 100%? Feel free to direct me to rules if they are posted somewhere.

how can you make the pods slide turn? I have the GOG version of the game but anything over 30 fps will make my pods physics change. No more slide turn, no control in anti gravity tunnels.

I Got 2 Questions For Ya. #1: Why Did U Do Inferno 1st. Not APC? & #2: Why Didn’t You Pick Ben At Gauntlet Just Stayed As Mars? I Think U Can Do The Skip At Gauntlet With Ben.
Thats some really good questions actually.
To adress your first question: I do Inferno first because I unlock Ben on Inferno, which means I can then use him on APC.
About your second question: You are in fact right, I could use Ben for Gauntlet Skip, however the version that I would do with Ben is a really risky one that does save quite a bit of time. In this run I decided against taking the risk because it can go horribly wrong and I could have easily lost the run to it. So since I was on really good pace I played it safe and just bagged the 1:17.
