He did it by cutting off the airflow in the engine, thus choking the fire. Then went from there. Transferred half the lost fuel from the good engine to the bad one and proceeds to attempt starting by jumping it off the good engine kinda like you would to jump a car.. not as asspull as force healing but to each there own I guess

Seriously, the Tusken raiders opening fire and the falling boulders in the LEGO podrace blew my seven year old mind. I remember spending half an hour just trying to beat the level. However, I have to admit that was one of the most memorable and fun levels I played.

No it is not, it's Huttese/Outer Rim Basic. Also Aurebesh isn't per se the written form of Basic, it can be used to spell out a plethora of different languages.

There's also Racer Revenge for PS2 (and PS4 has backwards compatibility for it) which has different characters, tracks, and basically takes place 8 years after the original events.
Wrong map, there are ring formations, tunnels and even tusken raiders firing at you. Unupgraded pod comparison, implying the old version didn't allow to repair the engines in mid race.
You forgot the fact in the old one you could play hot potato with engine fire by lightly bumping into the other racers.
That was fun.
Podracers Revenge was my favorite
The remake is actually of the last track you get in the game. The first is boonta eve training, but the last is the full boonta eve classic

Not gonna lie, I actually hate the lego version. The controls and camera are just so imprecise and it makes for terrible racing. The classic 1999 is my favorite. I even had a joystick controller to play it and it was the best!

Lego Star was was my childhood
There used to be a pod racing arcade game in Ye'olde mall. where you sat in a pod and piloted it like a zero turn mower, it was pretty lit. Then i always enjoyed the PS2 remake (or i think it was the sequal/remake of 1999 one) was also lit.
Pod racers revenge for the PS2 is the best one. You can play as both old and new racers and you can unlock others ones, there multiple maps to race in and of course to unlock as well, there a cup mode where you unlock the the stuff I mention before, you can earn money during the cup mode to upgrade your racer you choose and you get money by ranking high in a race or by *killing others racers* anyway this is probably the best one

What about the pod racing segment in Kinect Star Wars? That must be analysed!
I also love how the remake is more accurately based on the original Tatooine map from the movie, whereas the N64 version had a much more waterdowned version of it (limitations of the console perhaps?)
I'm sorry to be the barer of bad news but the tatooine map you play at the start of the game is a shortened noob version of the map. At the end of the game there is a full version of the tatooine map much like the one on the UE one and E1 layouts. Also you can pilot faster pod racers and upgrade them to being faster.
I know I'm late to the party, but the 2019 version seems to be based on the og game's "last" map which is the full version of tatooine

I love both the n64 and the unreal engine one, i would to have a 2020 version on steam with alot of featers like skin maker like forza horizon and proper cockpit view but the classic is also really awesome too!

back when i was young and i played the lego star wars game for the first time it took me so many attempts to win the podrace
I actually played the 99 version on a modded original Xbox, it was my first racing game, and so far it's the only racing game a really enjoy (apart from the midnight club series, WHERE IS THE NEW ONE ROCKSTAR?!!!) and a couple years ago I got myself an original copy of the game for PC with the poster of Sebulba and it's original box and manual, it also came with rouge squadron 3D with it's box and stuff. The two games where used and cheap, but work like a wonder. Now if I could get a podracer controller like you would have on the real thing...

i never played the lego one everyone praises but if they kept the game play and characters and other content and tracks from the original pod racer and then just touched up the graphics and frame rate i would buy it so fast. in the 99 version you could also buy modifications for tuning your pod racer. would love a new version. touching up the graphics but then having less racers and less maneuvering ect kinda ruins it for me. If they ever do remaster it please just if anything make it better and not just look better.

In lego star wars the pod racing section it took me ages to complete. And when i got the other vehicle you unlock the service ramp with well.... Its basically useless

Wow the remaster done by an actual company other than slight improvements failed in comparison to a fan who remade this game. Although the same as the original the remade fan made version is more modern.
