I watched your video strictly for a guidance for a takedown cleaning purpose. I got more than i was looking for by watching your part changing instructions. Thanks
I know this is an old video but I just bought one of these carbines (12/12/24) model 19140 and it came with a ruger mag well installed, one 17 rd ruger magazine and an additional glock mag well in the box. Good video!
Hello all! I just took my PCC out to the range and it ran perfectly! The Volquartsen trigger set at 2 lbs. is awesome! No jams, misfeeds, or malfunctions with the M-CARBO receiver/bolt upgrades I made using my range brass reloads (loaded to 'factory' powder charge--not the reduced load I use for my Sig P320 X5 Legion for USPSA Minor division) with Blue Bullets, Vihtavuori powder, and Federal Premium Gold Medal Match small pistol primers. What I like about it is by mounting the optic on the barrel as far away as I can from my eye, it gives me a large reticle that I can get on target quickly. I do really like EoTech holographic sights--made in my home state of Michigan (unfortunately in Ann Arbor--I'm a Spartan!). Stay tuned because this week (weather permitting) I'll have some video of me at the range with it!!
@@ericb.4358 Thanks for watching! Yes, it isn't light, but I also don't need a muzzle brake/compensator and it shoots so flat that the only thing that limits my split times between shots is literally how fast I can pull the trigger--there is no felt recoil or muzzle rise--the EoTech sight stays on target. Plus, I'm going to shoot it in USPSA to get classified, so I can't use a suppressor which keeps it considerably lighter.
The Magpul glock style magazines work great and are about $14 a piece. I used parts from Mcarbo and Tandemkross and all works great. The 19122 is the best version of the Ruger PCC mainly because of the collapsible stock and the mloc hand guard. The Mcarbo muzzle brake is worth the money.
I’m on the fence on getting this or a sub2000! I already have a cz scorpion with a 5.5 inch barrel pistol. But want a pcc carbine, the weight of this deters me but the way you have to angle your cheek on the sub2000 is also weird.
Thanks for watching and your comments! Well, go with what is comfortable. With that Volquartsen trigger, I can easily shoot 0.10 sec. splits and there is virtually no recoil to manage.
Yes, it does come with the S&W magazine and is set up to take those out of the box. I changed mine over to the Glock mags since those are much more available in many different sizes.
@ 14.32, I tried to upgrade my NIB Ruger PCC chassis model and I did have issue with m*carbo bolt pins. The left hole (when looking from the top) is not inserting fully seated. But when I remove firing pin spring and bolt face, both mcarbo pins inserts fine. But both mcarbo pins won't insert with the bolt face. I didn't want to force the pin in there. I was thinking there could be a minimal tolerance or bur on the bolt face notch not perfectly aligning the hole. The other hole is 100% fine. So what I did for now is to put back the ruger factory bolt pins and will pop few hundred rounds for bolt break-in. Any one else had this issue?
Thanks for watching! That's a good question. I haven't found anything comprehensive. It would take a lot of good camera work because there are many small parts that you'd need close-ups to view. I found the instruction manual to be very helpful; I used that to completely disassemble, clean, and reassemble mine. Here's a link to the PDF version of the manual that you can download and even print: ruger-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/_manuals/PC-Carbine_Chassis.pdf
If this firearm PC9 Carbine by Ruger in a need for so many replacement parts to make it better? Why not just buy a better PC9. Like A Colt for example?
Thanks for watching and you comment. Well, the parts for the upgrade were inexpensive, so it really didn't add all that much to the cost of the gun. Plus, I didn't have to replace all that I did, I could have done just a couple upgrades, or actually none at all. The one upgrade that I would say was crucial was the Volquartsen trigger assembly, since that made the gun truly competition ready.
Thanks for watching! It removes like a standard AR style grip. The Allen head screw is underneath and recessed inside the uppermost portion of grip. It will take just about any AR grip and I did change mine over to a different rubber grip that I have on most of my AR platform rifles.
@@donovongarcia795 Sure, glad I could help. I've been a rifle guy the last 25+ years, now I'm about 4 years (and heavily) into pistol stuff--but I still can't give up my rifles! I'm getting a FN SCAR NRCH 17 in a month or two and I'll review that as well so stay tuned!
Good question! I think it was a Smith and Wesson; I honestly don't remember because I purchased Glock mags before I even purchased the Ruger, so I literally unboxed it and the first thing I did was put in the Glock magazine insert.
Hi and thanks for watching! I'm sorry, I should have put it in the description. The mag well is made by TACCOM and it is their 'Machined Magazine Funnel' that fits the Ruger PCC and just snaps on. I've put over 5,000 rounds through my PCC so far since I posted this and that magwell had been great, functioned perfectly, and is very durable.
Thanks for watching! Huh, that's weird, I would email/call S&W to see what's going on. I wonder if they changed the way they ship it out now? Mine came with the S&W mag holder pre-installed and I had to remove it to install the Glock one as I did in the video. It comes with the S&W mag adapter pre-installed, but I'd double check with S&W.
@@slamm18 Yes, I know it's a Ruger rifle as is mine, and mine came with a Smith and Wesson magazine and the stock Smith and Wesson magazine holder that I then changed over to the Glock version. Mine did not come with a "Ruger" magazine nor did it in any fit Ruger mags only the S&W it came with and the option to use Glock style mags. So I guess they must have changed something then since I had purchased mine. Good luck with yours.

Thanks for watching! Yes, that sounds like an awesome set up! I stocked up on the 5.7 ammo quite some time ago since I love that cartridge in my FN (handgun version). At least primers are starting to come back in stock again--at reasonable prices!
Thanks for watching! All I did was just upgrade all the parts from the start. I didn't find/read anything about any problems that people were having but decided that replacing the high-stress parts with tool-grade steel wouldn't be a bad idea. I've had no problems with anything since and have over 2,000 rounds through it. I'm sure it would have been fine out of the box, but it wasn't that expensive to make those upgrades just to guarantee no future problems.
Thanks for watching. Yes, I'm sorry about that. On future installs I'll show more detail. I just figured that people would go to the different manufacturers websites for their 'official' install videos. Regardless, I'll put in more detail in the future.

Here's a link to it on Midway USA: www.midwayusa.com/product/1015055227?pid=779085 I put them on all my 22LR's both the bolt action and semiautos. I haven't used this product on anything larger than my 9mm PCC, but I've heard of people using them for the AR-15 and AR-10. Those are larger cases--especially the 308/7.62 so I don't know how it would perform. It does work great for 22LR and 9mm cases.
That Volquartsen trigger is no longer worth buying in my opinion. It went up to about $300 with shipping and taxes, why would i put that on a $700 gun? That’s basically half of the guns worth on a single accessory when I’m not using it for any competitions.
Thanks for watching! You know, that's a really good question, and I should have weighed it before and after--but I didn't. I'd have to say the weight must have stayed pretty much the same, since it was pretty much a swap of the different parts. If I did shave or add some weight, it wasn't much.
Thanks for watching! Yes, I LOVE that Volquartsen trigger and I'd say it's worth every penny. Again, I'm not a PCC expert, but even I can feel and notice the difference in performance--it's that good. I've been very impressed with all the Volquartsen products I've purchased for different guns I own.

@@Shadow-ng2ch That's a great question.
