I was taught to be codependent, I was brought up in a strict religious home that devalued women. I was taught to put others needs, wants, etc. in front of myself. If you know the good to do, not doing it was sin; that was how I was manipulated by a narcissistic parent. I did not realize my parent was a narc till I was in my late 50's. Better late than never, I'm starting to understand why I made poor choices in life.

You have hit the nail on the head!! And my church told me to submit and that I can't leave. What a horrific situation! Finally God told me to get out!!!!

Ophelia, I'm fighting a cold too, and recovering from a covert narcissist who did me a favor by throwing me out because he knew he couldn't control me anymore.

@@heatherkennedy8213 Hi Heather...it really is sad that we have to deal with these dirtball. I kbiw it may be hard but at least you are not stuck in that relationship anymore.

Beware of the trauma bonding early in the dating, Coverts are good at this. They will tell you about their sad childhood or former marriage or some other tragedy and that easily hooks an empathetic person in. Run if this happens.

First, DR. CLARKE, you are a Godsend. God bless you always. I recently broke up with my narc, 2nd time after being divorced! 🙋‍♀️me, super co dependent. anyways, when we are together he treats our daughter like 💩, but when we break up he treats her like a princess. So terrible. But she is 15. And she is so tired of his games. I am praying so hard that God will give me the strength to keep him away from my life.

How long were you in the relationship? My daughter is in one, not married (thank God). They have 4 girls together and he isn't engaging with them at all. I'm praying for my granddaughters to break this ugly chain. Thank you for listening

Thank you, Dr. Clarke! Watching your videos has been very helpful for me. I am seeing a therapist and trying to build up enough strength and courage to get out of my marriage. My husband is a big time narcissist. God bless you for making these videos available on youtube.

Thank you so much for calling things out so strongly. We’ve been with a number of counsellors who left me feeling completely confused. It’s only by the spirit of God that I’ve been able to discern what’s really going on. Your content is helping me so much to feel stronger and deal with things that had been unimaginable to me

A good man doesn’t act that way. Very impactful statement! Someone who loves you for you will not act like that to you! I also told the narc I live in the United States. I’m not tied to you for life!

I need to heal with God's grace, made my mistakes and believing it was my problem. But after 8 and a half years, he did me a favor by throwing me out because he couldn't control me anymore. He even had the audacity to say I caused him PTSD, yet he would gaslight me so much, O rely believed it was my issue.

I don't think there is anything wrong with teenagers or adults wanting to be influencers! If they are living for Christ, they can be influencers for Him. It's all about motives, whether it's selfish or serving others.
