I wonder why so many expensive vehicles don't have the back windshield wiper hidden? They look cheap with the little wiper exposed and it gives it a clean look when they have it hidden on the top spoiler.
The X5 has staying power for many reasons. But one thing BMW does offer is very aggressive lease deals on these, which is actually the best way to go due to the immense depreciation of their vehicles(and maintenance/reliability outside of warranty). But the overall design, inside and out, just seems so cautious and predictable. With vehicles like the GV80 shaking up this class, I can see BMW needing to chart a new path. Moreover, some of the details the X5 infuriate me: The exposed wiper on the rear glass. The embarrassingly wheels on this model for $68k(similar to the wheels of a base $30k Ford Explorer). A digital gauge cluster with extremely limited adjustability. Plastic cladding that can only be eliminated by purchasing yet another package. Lack of ventilated seats at this price. And these are just a few that I find odd.
@hon solo I’ll second you on this. The market/target demographic for the x5 (40-m50) are not the same as the GV. I have respect for what the Genesis brand are trying to do and I hope they will succeed to bring the prices of the Germans down. However, there is one currently one insurmountable obstacle, and the same one for why the Lexus GX no longer exist and the x3 continues to do well: brand cache. The Germans and their owners image is that they have “arrived”. The English have been there and are trying to remain relevant. And the Asians are on their way there. Ironically, when a lot of those owners of Asian brands get there, they “upgrade” to the Germans. Is it logical and fair? No and maybe. It’s the same reason why Rolex’s are selling above retails and GS are retailed 20-30% below the Rolex’s retail for better quality. If logic is the foundation of the purchasing decisions, then there are very few reasons to look beyond Honda or Toyota sedans. SUVs are for the most part emotional purchases. If you want max value, look at a Hyundai. I can easily make the same argument a Hyundai (or Kia) is far better value than a Genesis. See the irony there? All interior dimensions are bigger, power thigh support, rear sunshade, Alcantara headliner, more rear seat legroom, and a Harmon Kardon 12 speaker radio, Nappa leather seats that are two toned. My Hyundai also come with the digital key feature, I can use my smartphone as a key. I also has a credit card key like Teslas have. There is no need for a key fob with this car, I leave them at home. I won't even get into the park assist and the video blind spot monitoring, two amazing features, and everything I named came standard. It may not have the name but is a way better car, with way more options and way better tech for about 24 thousand cheaper with America's best warranty.

Impossible to take these weak entertainment system for any long rides or rides with friends. What happened to BMW? Do they think that regular AM-FM radio is still sufficient? Their current entertainment system is 50 yrs old....BTW, I do own BMW X5....with the 215W audio system and I can't use the internet (netflix, NFL games, youtube....etc) to a satisfactory level with such a weak weak entertainment system, even a 10K older vehicles have better entertainment system.

BMW is a terrible corporate murder factory. Takata is the biggest scandal to every hit the auto industry. BMW replaced my defective Takata airbag with the same defective part in 2017! Now Dec 1 2021 my vehicle still has a defective Takata airbag and BMW has been sending me threatening pamphlets telling me that Takata airbags have killed people I get a pamphlet every week. I spoke with their consumer department. So unprofessional…. I am not allowing them to repair the vehicle I want the vehicle replaced with a comparable vehicle that has not been tainted by Takata scandal. Takata became Joy Sun company they made the current revised airbag that BMW wants me to have installed at the dealer. Takata is in operation to this day under a name change and power shift internally. I have lost my faith in BMW they are delirious to think this BEV is the first luxury EV. BMW is a corporate Murder House in my opinion forcing people families who died from Takata Scandal to sign NDA (non disclosure agreements) and also offering these families huge payouts for their silence. They would rather keep a liability like my vehicle on the road than doing the right thing in replacing it. I am mentioning this here because I would like to bring awareness to my plight regarding BMW North America. Help me brother. I haven’t been able to have passenger in my car in a long time because it’s the passenger side airbag that’s affected. Take care! Nicholas.
It's in lined with the segment. Clearly you don't know your luxury mid-size SUV pricing. Audi is always cheapest, followed by BMW, followed by Benz, followed by Porsche. This is the same pricing structure for EVERY single model in their lineups. Don't compare semi-luxury like Acura/Infiniti. They are half a class below. These are facts, learn to accept them.

Best luxury 2 row money can buy .. NOT..BMW X5 .
That thing is nasty on Forza Horizon 5
😍
Those rims are rough..
Endless money pit after warranty
Bmws are for people who can afford higher maintenance costs
If you're worried about operating expenses you shouldn't consider a +60k car.
Get a Corolla or Civic.
This BMW looks like My 2021 Hyundai Santa fe Calligraphy minus the front in styling. My Hyundai was the top model so it came with a safety suite and features that will destroy the overpriced BMW.
Interior is pretty basic. The outside looks ok. Nothing great.. pass.

To make this vehicle look good its 100k vehicle lol .. base just looks like Hyundai
But if you’re not hung up on trying to make your SUV look like a race car, you can have a great ride for $60k.
It costs around $110000~$140,000 in China, absolutely nonsense
Oh, no. There’s a tacky piece of plastic where the fog lights used to be!
👍
Interior looks Basic!! Never was a fan of BMW interiors
Who else gave a thumbs up for the broken leg?
Unless BMW upgrades its audio system (currently the worst audio system of any vehicles, even the 15-20K ones, with 215W and max of 464W system for "M" vehicles) I can't imagine ever purchasing a BMW vehicle because the internet and audio/video entertainment is 95% of the enjoyment of any 30 minutes+ drives.
BMW x5 nothing to said bad but only is the only sucked is reclining midd seats. Danm bmw engineers what think about not reclining while all others SUV do. Sucker.
👍👍👍👍😍👌

Take care! Nicholas.
De mediano nada ..🤡😂
😡
Overpriced with subpar safety feature for basic trim….
Who else thinks the alloys are ugly 🤣
