    We have a Q7 and the third row is useless for anyone over the age of 11. Getting access to the third row is horrendous as well, my children cannot lift that second row seat to get back there.

    That type of folding seat KILLS the car for moms. You can’t open up for passengers if you have a car seat in both seats or in the middle seat alone. The VW Atlas and X7 get it right by allowing the entire seat to rotate forward while maintaining the “L” shaped position of the seat - it allows car seats or boosters to stay in place while creating space for third row entry.

    All of your videos are always well researched. They are the trustworthy source on TH-cam to find out exactly what is different between the new model and the old. Even the folks who work at the dealership are clueless about the cars features, they have gotten even more complacent because of the chip shortage and dont bother to know more about the product that they are selling. I am so impressed about the quality and detail of the information that you have presented. It takes a lot of effort to make these videos, so my heartfelt thanks and wish you loads of success.

      One important item if you do your own oil changes...the crush washer for the oil drain plug. Use the audi original. You will notice there is a ring on the washer (it is rolled soft metal). The ring goes toward the oul pan. If you put it the other way it will leak. Had to call audi corporate for this tid bit of info.

      Audi is the R&D arm for VW, and shares the same chassis and engine configurations with Lambo, Porsche, Bentley, and VW. EVs are coming soon. The devil is in the details, but you can see the similarities among the different badges. Depends on what you want and what you can afford. My limit is Audi and I trust the brand. BTW VW uses a lot of aluminum in these cars, historically reserved for high value models.

    I think the Black Optics package is the way to go on any Audi because they're styled so conservatively. The $83k sticker for this does make one consider a X7 40i or GLS 450. And then there is the matter of other entrants in the class that offer all of what the Audi offers for less, such as loaded MDXs and GV80s. Also, the interior packaging of this is unbelievably inefficient for a vehicle at 199" long.

    Hello Car Confections. Good review video for the 2022 Audi Q7 in the Prestige trim level. The interior is great especially up front. Nice size screens for the driver instrument cluster screen and the infotainment screen as well as good functions for both of them. I like the way they did the shade for the panoramic roof where you can still see through it partially when it's closed. Good performance numbers with that turbo V6 engine. Almost identical performance numbers to the Genesis GV80 turbo V6. There are four gripes I have with this vehicle. Two were already mentioned in the video. This vehicle doesn't have enough space for storage. As we all know storage is one of the key aspects these days when purchasing an SUV. The console area arm rest is definitely mediocre for storage. Based on the price point for this high Prestige trim level there should've been ventilated seats in the second row of seats. It has heated seats in the second row, but no ventilated functions. The next gripe is no air vents in the third row. Finally, the last gripe is no USB ports in the third seating area either. The third row seating area is basically like a penalty box back there or as a fellow You Tube reviewer Alex On Autos would put it "The Mother-in-law row". Yep. That's what he calls it when back there isn't nice n comfy for some SUVs. Maybe when the next generation Q7 gets released, Audi might improve in those areas by doing the same thing Jeep did for the Grand Cherokee L which is to have larger size cup holders, air vents, USB/USB-C ports and a small storage area for the third row seating occupants. Let's see what happens when the time comes.

    • @cacinaz8802

      @@cacinaz8802 I assume the Audi Q9 will be the full size line SUV. Should be nice when it gets released next year in 2022. More than likely when it gets released next year in 2022 it'll be for the 2023 model year. For that SUV it will be the direct competitor for the BMW X7 and Mercedes GLS.

    • @cacinaz8802
      @cacinaz8802 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jefferybaxter1225 Search "Audi Q9 2022" and you can view what it will look like. Not much detail however it will offer 4, 6, and 8 cylinder (turbo and twin turbo) configurations. EVs are sure to follow within 2-3 years. Yes, looks like it will compete with BMW, GLS, Cadillac, and full size SUV models. But says 2022, not 2023 so we'll see. I pick up my 2021 Q7 tomorrow - Navarra Blue with Metro Gray interior and Black Optics Package. My trade is a 2017 Q7. Got a good deal because it is nearing the end of the model year, although they are limiting supply to keep prices up. BTW here is AZ BMW, MB, and Genesis are all selling over MSRP with no dealing, so I'm happy to stay with Audi. I decided to stay with gas engine until the EVs mileage improves. Not interested in Tesla.

    • @jefferybaxter1225
      @jefferybaxter1225 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cacinaz8802 I'll do a search for the Audi Q9. That's good that they'll have a variety of powertrains available. More than likely buyers will either get the V6 or the V8. That's nice you'll be picking up your Q7 tomorrow. Did you get it in the Prestige trim or one below that? My current vehicle is the third generation Jeep Grand Cherokee in the Limited trim. It's a 2005 model year. That body style lasted until 2010. I have intentions on getting the newly released fifth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee L. However, I'll get the second year of the new generation in the Overland trim nicely equipped with the 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine. There are six trim levels available for it and three out of the six basically the high tier trims are on par with the luxury branded mid-size third row seating SUVs. The interiors in the Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve trims are nice along with the features. Just to name a few new features there's an interior camera, night vision camera, massaging front seats and more premium interior panels. There are more new features, but I don't want to tie up the conversation.
      Like the Audi Q9 being a full size SUV that'll get released next year, Jeep this year will release two full size SUVs soon which are the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. The Wagoneer to compete with the regular full size SUVs while the Grand Wagoneer will compete with the luxury branded full size SUVs. I'm glad that automakers are including bigger SUVs in their lineup now. The next automaker that needs to join the party for introducing a full size line SUV is Acura. Based on a article I read few months ago the Acura team is at the discussion table with the topic if bigger vehicles. I think they'll do it. At the moment we just have to wait for some kind of confirmation reflecting that. OBTW, I think the 2022 Audi Q7 is the last year for this generation. The 2023 Audi Q7 I think will be the model year to start the next generation.

But the timing worked in my favor - they gave me huge money for my trade (but I keep my cars pristine) and dealt down on the new one. I almost went with the Jeep and I'm a fan of the HEMI. The new ones look really nice and are priced better than the German makes. My family owned a Wagoneer when I was a kid and I'm glad to see it resurrected. Yes, probably 2022 is the last year for this generation. My plan is to stay with this for four years, then seriously consider an EV when the battery technology advances to give us more miles between charges. Good luck to you.

    The Navarra Blue with Metro Gray interior and Black Optics package is beautiful! I especially like how the Audi rings on the front grill are also blacked out. Have watched several of your reviews on the Audis. You need to stress that the quattro AWD is considered the best, or near the best available. Audi's racing heritage was founded on Quattro racing successes (but you are both too young to remember). Also, the car is comprised of over 50% aluminum including hood and body panels that many other luxury brands don't use. The engine is a mild hybrid, which points to Audi's future technology advancements in electric power (not that I'm a fan of it, but just saying).

    • @ayushmalpeddi2793
      @ayushmalpeddi2793 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The problem is electric cars will in general have the best AWD system. Currently, Teslas is the best of the best. ICE cars with AWD just dont compete. So quattro doesn't mean much anymore. Also tires play a much bigger role. Don't get me wrong Audi and Subaru both have good AWD systems, but with Tesla in the market it doesn't make sense anymore.

    • @cacinaz8802

      @@cacinaz8802 Most AWD systems are perfect for snow, gravel, etc. Tires matter 10X more than a better AWD system. I'm sure my Hyundais HRAC would do almost as well as a Subaru/Audi. Anyways, if you really want the best AWD, its gonna be a Tesla, Rivian, or any decent dual motor EV. Mechanical AWD can't really compare. They just are more slow, more expensive to maintain, and react much slower. (I have a Tesla FYI). So arguing whether one ICE cars mechanical AWD system is better than another is childs play. If you care that much just get an EV. If not, its not worth buying one ICE car for its AWD over another.

      Totally agree with what you've stated. With that said, people want what they want. If a person doesn't have the mainstream SUVs on their radar, it will never be an option. Most logical people are fully aware there are less costly options for many things in life. If I want a Mercedes, BMW, Audi, etc. - nothing is going to point me in the direction of ANY of the mainstream costly options.
      I want a QX60 but someone says get the Pathfinder. I don't want the Pathfinder. I like the badge on the Infiniti.
      I want a MDX. Nah. Wait for the 2022 Pilot. Guess what, I don't want the Pilot.
      I want a Cadillac XT6. Why would you do that? You should just get the Acadia.
      There is a reason there are premium brands available. Some folks want to pay for the premium even if there isn't a premium.
      For what it is worth, I'd love to hear a real person say they wanted a premium brand vehicle and opted for a mainstream one instead (knowing they could afford the premium brand).

But when I am talking from car brand point of view German cars are known to break down more than even a main stream average vehicles with big damage on the pocket and gone are the days when sun roof , and little more tech were available only on these premium brands. I would only buy German like Porsche or something where because I know other manufacturers are not even in their league

      @clownfish7776 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely on the same page as you. People buy these luxury vehicles because money is no object to them. The average Joe can't afford this even if they stretched the payments to 10 years. With that said I think there is a market for these cars for the few who can afford to shell out big money. Personally, I'd buy a Telluride even if the price was in the same range as the Q7.

    • @tw88888888
      @tw88888888 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree that Hyundai/Kia has just as many if not more features than the Q7. However, the Q7 drives much much better than either. The power delivery, handling, and suspension are a of a different class. For example, 0 to 60 will be about 2 seconds faster in the Q7. Additionally, the Hyundai/Kia's feel like wallowing clumsy trucks with plenty of body roll and imprecise steering. The Q7 drives like a much smaller sedan with very little body roll. The suspension in the Q7 is incredible being both able to absorb road imperfections without wallowing. None of the Koreans can say that. And you really can't compare the all wheel drive systems. The Koreans act like front wheel drives until there is traction loss. Audi Quattro is a full time all wheel drive system (normally 60% rear, 40% front, but can be as much as 80% rear, 70% front). This adds to the incredible traction and handling ability of the Audi's.
      Additionally, the Q7 is much more luxurious and refined in the interior. On the surface, the Koreans look good, but dig a little deeper and you see a lot of plastics faking metal, wood, and leather trims. The Q7 uses all real materials: real wood, real aluminum, real leather. When you look at things carefully. the Q7 is another category of vehicle far above the Telluride/Palisade twins. But you also have to pay $70000 instead of $50000. Don't forget that these vehicles are not competing in the same market.
      To be fair to the Koreans, we need to compare the Genesis GV80. There, the winner is not as clear cut. With regards to the GV80, the Q7 is a much bigger vehicle with a useable 3rd row. The 3rd row in the GV80 is a joke. The entertainment system in the Q7 is gorgeous and intuitive. That in the GV80 is non-intuitive and dangerously distracting. The GV80 suspension is much firmer and not as comfortable as the Q7. The GV80 appears more luxurious at the same price point though.

    I own a 2021 Q7 and in my opinion, the vehicle is a big disappointment. It's my Wife's and she loves it, which is what matters.
    Other than the amazing engine and the quietness while driving, the car itself is outdated (it looks like a whale that washed up on shore). It has some features that just don't make sense for what is supposed to be a premium SUV. The infotainment is so annoying and cumbersome and not user-friendly at all. Audi's multimedia system keeps "fighting" with Apple Car play. You can open the tailgate from within the car, but there's no way of closing it from the inside. You have to step out and manually close it... There's no way to figure out the tire pressure (which is so basic), you sync it one time, and the next time you meet the tire pressure sign is when there's a low pressure which most changes indicate you are about to have a flatt tire. To me, the stop/start (kind of hybrid) is a bit jumpy and pulls the car forward too aggressively when it kicks back in. The lanes assistance is also aggressive and can be dangerous at times. The Audi distance warning light is too small and can barely be seen, so it's useless. and the steering wheel is too stiff, not rounded shaped, and feels cheap. The seats aren't soft enough (in my opinion). It's all touch screen so to change temps, etc. you need to take your eyes off the road and look for the right place on the touch screen. The storage under the driver's armrest is a joke. You can barely keep a pen in there. The Wireless charger is under the armrest and it's cumbersome to put it in and out as needed. In my opinion, the vehicle is dated and urgently needs someone to remodel this car (inside and outside).
