I never realized how 10 said "spoilers" at the beginning of the episode before river showed up and now it really hits different. that was like the perfect precursor to the episode when river is introduced
"Sonic it... use the thingie!!!"
"I can't it's wood!!"
"Wha-.... IT DOESN'T DO WOOD?!!"
Best line XD
"The real world is a lie. Your nightmares, they're real!" - Top Tier psychology right there, Dr. Moon.
Wolf6120 #Legion
To be fair, he's right.
It makes sense when you find out who the kid is.
@@Here_is_Waldo And who Dr. Moon is:
A anti-virus data security A.I. inside the Library's moon.
''Ice-Cream. Ice-Cream. I-Scream. I Scream..........''
When Miss Evangelist's communicator is saying "Ice Cream" on a loop, I always understood it to be a deliberate homophone wherein it also sounds like she's saying "I scream" over and over, hence the ominous tone whilst it is happening. It's the juxtaposition between the light-hearted vibe of the phrase "ice cream" and the haunting vibe of the phrase "I scream".
This is one of the saddest episodes and they didn't know it yet
You do realize, that not everyone has the time to watch the full half an hour, every week.Things get really stressful, when you have a lot on your plate. :)
Spoilers...
@@carealoo744 You have to watch more than just 1h and 30min to understand how sad this is. I think that's what they meant.
@@nine7937 Sorry, wait... This was a year ago, and I can't even tell what I'm talking about here...
@@carealoo744 I think you thought that person was referring to the episode but what they meant was the 5 year arc which is River Song's story, after you watch it then come back to this, it's heartbreaking.
If you think River Song is confusing NOW....
minski76 she was confusing at first - she gets better later, then season 5 happened and after it her timeline isn't confusing at all.
Nicky Morris spoilers much
@@TyrannosavageRekt hahahaha, it is someone else's fault you put in a spoiler? and it is okay because they don't read it?......hahahaha, justification at it's finest, the internet is so funny.....
SHES AMY CHILD FROM 11TH DOCTOR
@@m7_peekm174 are you seriously that much of a dick?
When they mentioned the "I'm a time-traveller, I point & laugh at archaeologists" line... I love having foreknowledge. I hope they remember that line when they're watching the 11th Doctor's run. The parallels are hilarious!
“Does she know him?”
You are in for a treat my friend!
Jack Furlong "Spoilers" 😉
I love the Miss Evangalise scene, it's one of the least mentioned tearjerkers of Doctor Who, but for some reason her death and the stuff she talks to Donna about always gets to me.
Elon Musks ex wife as well
“Don’t tell the others they’ll only laugh” is what gets me
Eric is so smart. I really enjoy how fast he catches on to things.
he's been killin it recently, same on Jessica Jones
Brandi H So, when Eric does it he’s smart. When Aaron does it(( which he does a lot )) he’s seen it before. Lmao.
How is your comment a week old?
TeamRecktEm I get early access on patreon
SuperNerdGavin I never said that? But in this context he has seen a lot of Who, that's why he doesn't say much during the reactions. I do look forward to Aaron watching Smith's and Capaldi's, since I know he didn't make it that far in the series.
Oh this is gonna hurt, Aaron's poker face must be strong
"Crash of the Byzantium. Have we done that yet?"
Mister Insect Nasty I think they made a movie of that.
Oh, and Jim the Fish! Well we all know about Jim the Fish!
Oh man, I wanted to see them react to the Doctor and Donna just nodding to each other and simultaneously ripping the Non Disclosure Agreements. It's one of my favorite Donna moments just because of how much she and the Doctor are on the same wavelength.
Get FL
Things like that are why Donna is my favorite companion.
You could say they were....on the same page.
The actress who plays River Song was Laurel and Sara's mother on Arrow.
and Dr Elizabeth Corday in ER.
Yeah, but as well as that trash she's actually a really distinguished actress celebrated for her role in the adaption of Moll Flanders.
That’s the least of her achievements
I am aware that she has done better work. I only stated it to see if they would remember her from it. Back when they started reacting to this series, I wanted them to keep track of everyone they recognize from the Arrowverse as well as the MCU.
Her real name is Alex Kingston.
Doctor Who: show where the phrase "That was already going to have been happening" can actually be used.
Anerye the best thing calvin said in this video 😂
Loved that line. It also reminded me of an early Red Dwarf episode.
"Hey, it hasn't happened, has it? It has 'will have going to have happened' happened, but it hasn't actually 'happened' happened yet, actually."
"Poppycock! It will be happened; it shall be going to be happening; it will be was an event that could will have been taken place in the future. Simple as that."
and this is where the fun begins!
Yeah, I'd say every episode from here until the end of The Tenth Doctor's era is very reaction-worthy (apart from Planet of the Dead)!
I'd go so far to say every episode from here until a few episodes into season 6 are reaction-worthy
thegentleassassin Series 5 is full of great episodes, but I wouldn't say all of them are reaction-worthy: The Beast Below, The Vampires of Venice, The Hungry Earth/ Cold Blood and The Lodger are all forgettable imo.
Tom Monty I’d maybe agree about The Beast Below and Vampires of Venice, but I think The Hungry Earth two-parter is quite underrated, and I’ll defend The Lodger till I die
Yes cant wait for midnight its so go and yes bring me Waters of Mars
Oh God, trust me, there's no point to trying to understand the relative timeline between River and the Doctor lol. Just sign it off to wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff.
Time travel, and those two keep meeting at different points in each others timelines. explained in one sentence.
People generally need a flow chart.
I never even noticed her in these! Holyshit!
There are videos on River Song's timeline. It's completely FULL of Spoilers though.
People always say Moffat's stories are hard to follow, but if you just pay attention it's really not. There's nothing actually complicated about River's storyline, as it's all explained clearly in-show.
River's and the Doctor's timelines occur in opposite orders. Every time he meets her, she knows him less and vice versa, with very few exceptions.
This is another Stephen Moffet story, the guy who wrote the two-parter where we met Jack with the Gasmask kid; the Girl in the Fireplace, and Blink.
Empty Child. It's called Empty Child/Doctor Dances
"What if she dies and the last time they ever meet is the first time he meets her"
"Like a time travellers wife"
Boi you got that one spot on
This two-parter is a pretty "iconic" duo of episodes for River Song's story arc, infact you can say it lasts a very long period, how long? Spilers ofc but she has a few good episodes throughout, even past Tenant (won't say more then that). Get used to River Song, she's a keeper.
Someone named Mel would know, wouldn't they?
@@JayceMaxwellAnd i suppose Mel knows so many different things, like the oldest question in the universe.
This two parter is still one of my all-time favorites. It so jam-packed full of cool concepts and it unfolds as a mystery really nicely. And of course the more you come back to re-watch it, the more powerful it gets. :)
Also: I feel like deep down part of me has been secretly waiting four seasons for the Blind Wave Boys to finally reach this episode. From here on out into Season 5 and beyond -- it's alllllllllllll gravy...
In addition to this episode having Walter from Arrow, the actress who plays River Song was Sara and Laurel's mom on Arrow.
I really like how doctor who thumbnails are changed based on the episode.
Aaron's constant cringe watching this is gold. Not able to say anything.
So close to Midnight! Probably one of my fav episodes of DW
Airsayle19 I love Midnight. SUCH an underrated episode.
Midnight is one of the scariest episodes in my opinion, and definitely in my top 5 favorite episodes!!
Oh yes. I *loooove* Midnight.
Darth Erudius how is Midnight underrated
Midnight is definitely one of my top favorites
Yay I was waiting for the guys to figure out Aaron’s notebook is River’s diary. She’s my favourite character of Doctor Who.
Calvins "going to have been happening" reminded me of Douglas Adams quote:)
One of the major problems encountered in time travel is not that of becoming your own father or mother. There is no problem in becoming your own father or mother that a broad-minded and well-adjusted family can't cope with. There is no problem with changing the course of history-the course of history does not change because it all fits together like a jigsaw. All the important changes have happened before the things they were supposed to change and it all sorts itself out in the end.
The major problem is simply one of grammar, and the main work to consult in this matter is Dr. Dan Streetmentioner's Time Traveler's Handbook of 1001 Tense Formations. It will tell you, for instance, how to describe something that was about to happen to you in the past before you avoided it by time-jumping forward two days in order to avoid it. The event will be described differently according to whether you are talking about it from the standpoint of your own natural time, from a time in the further future, or a time in the further past and is further complicated by the possibility of conducting conversations while you are actually traveling from one time to another with the intention of becoming your own mother or father.
Sounds exactly like a direct quote from "Hitchhiker´s Guide To The Galaxy", both outside the universe, and in.
So...are we saying Shane found a time machine and BURNED DOWN THE LIBRARY OF ALEXANDRIA?
Yeah, that was super creepy.
“Why what’s in the shadows?”
“I’m Batman..” 😂 2:49
My top 5 New Who eps (in a rough order):
Midnight
Heaven Sent
The Eleventh Hour
Blink
Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead two parter
(also the Agatha Christie ep is one of my favourite guilty pleasure episodes!)
Amisha S I agree but for me listen is also stuck in the list!
Really? Heaven Sent, The Eleventh Hour And The Library Episodes? Heaven Sent is The Worst I have watched, The Eleventh Hour is a cheesy Episode that followed an amazing Emotional episode and The Library Episodes were just boring
JustSomeRandomGuy Online you sir have an unpopular opinion.
I’m surprised you put Midnight over Heaven Sent considering many people disliked that episode. I loved it though
Where would you place Waters of Mars?
Love how.arron knows all of this doc.who stuff and not resist to crack a smile. When the others are thinking of the episodes nice work
"Don't tell the others, they will only laugh."
*LOOK AT CALVIN'S FACE!!*
Hello Sweety
I wonder who she is?🤔
Belrevan you're the only person I've ever seen to write it as sweety other than sweetie
www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/sweety
it's how the brits spell it, and since Dr Who is a british show i felt it appropriate
and so... the game begins.
this episode always freaked me out when i was young
"who turned out the lights"
chilling
The intro to the River Song concept was soooo well done here. Top marks. Like these are the kind of things you want to do in a reboot/remake etc.
I know this video is old so i dont think anyone will see this. But my late father actually worked in the building that part of this episode was filmed in (see 3:06).
When I was somewhere between 8 and 10, I forget the exact age now, not too long after thid episode, my dad took me here for my birthday.
Being there in real life made me very uneasy about all the shadows.
Fun fact: The books that they decorated the shelves with were still there, and they are actually all just empty binders with labels on them!
OMG I have been waiting for you guys to get to this two-parter, one of my faves!!
You guys are going to love River Song, wish I could say why but...spoilers...
One of her only good appearances is in this two-parter, so they should enjoy her while they can.
Which is a shame as they built her up to have a lot of potential
All her character development was off-screen. Every time we saw her she just told us how great her relationship with the Doctor was, rather than showed us. It felt like we just skipped an entire season of backstory with her.
fancynancypigs, The Wedding of River Song is a hugely convoluted pile of wank.
SPOILERS!!!!!
I like how aron kept quiet even though he's seen the husband of river song
This is a great two-parter! The first part is a great build up to the mystery of the library and the introduction of River Song is great and will keep you asking so many questions! Highlights are: Donna kicking the door, mocking that the sonic doesn’t do wood; the interactions between River and The Doctor; Miss Evangelista’s sad demise; ripping out the contracts and that cliffhanger! Can’t wait for the Part 2 reaction! SPOILERS GALORE! :D
Hello Sweetie,
Here's your complimentary flow chart. Please note the topsy turvy center. You'll want to take notes for that. Trust me.
Also, Spoilers!
Sorry, can you help me? It appears that my chart is in Gallifreyan, and it doesn´t translate? ;)
That moment... You're making sandwiches at 12 in the morning, DW theme. headset on, and out of no-where: (01:16) "YOU BROKE IT!!" OoO
I'm gonna be STARING at Aaron during this entire two-parter
I don't know if this would be a spoiler (see what I did there) but for the time travel perspective between The Doctor and River:
Think of it this way. I'm just using 5 numbers here to represent the path we view it from episode to episode.
R: 5th - 4th - 3rd - 2nd - 1st
D: 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th - 5th.
2 actors from arrow in the same ep, yay and if you consider 09:26 her square gun is similar to the one Captain jack had during world war 2, we have 3 arrow's actors \o/
Jesus, I remember watching this and the next episode and being so fucking terrified. They're my top fav Doctor Who episodes
Eric's on the fucking ball with his predictions.
Man, I love this two parter. It scared the hell out of me when I first saw it, I literally couldn't sleep for hours after watching it
YOU BROKE IT
YESS! My day is made!
"And if he's right, he's seen it before" XD perfect
9:08 Eric I swear every time with you, EVERY SINGLE TIME
If you want to see long term planning, just listen to what river says in this episode about the future. Great stuff to come....
13:00 "Already going to have been Happening" Ahhh... Temporal Grammar Gotta Love it!
love how spot on eric got rivers story aha its crazy rewatching all these
You guys should watch Broadchurch, another British TV Show. It would be interesting to see reactions to that.
JDS And them trying to work out who did it.
And Black Mirror
Same. Broadchurch is such a perfect show to react to.
David Blyth I agree there’s only one good series but I’d really like to see someone react to that one. Nothing to do with Chibnall.
@@hypnobloom9917 I liked series 3 though
Hey, who turned out the lights?!
11:46 holy moly right on the mark😭
God this 2-parter is so good
When I started this video I went back to the last one because the intro there was pretty sick... TURNS OUT THIS WAS BETTER!!!😂😂😂❤❤❤
In few years when you finish the Christmas episode with Singing Towers - you have to watch some videos done by fans that basically include all River Song's moments - that show how her timeline went.
Aaron's poker face is incredible...
Let the confusing timeline begin! :D
Pretty sure this is where the confusing timeline ends. From a certain point of view.
An absolutely Herculean effort on Aaron's part keeping his expression neutral. I would be DYING in this situation! :)
*looks at the video in my subscriptions* "Hey! Who turned out the light?"
I quote "hey, who turned out the lights!" all the time there's so many points you can use it. In fact I used it so much i literally forgot where I got it from until rewatching this episode
"Does she know him?" Lol Eric
From this point on, the rest of the season all great episodes.
I thought Torchwood Boy will comment in here and wrote something (Like he did to Jess, Sesskasays)
Oh well, I will do it then XD
"When the wind stands fair and the night is perfect, when you least expect it but always when you need it the most, there is a song. "
That's all you need to know....
Huh the Blind Wave Doctor Who Intro use the future TARDIS design... meh :v
I always loved the River Song dynamic, and the character; I think Moffatt gets a bit full of himself in his writing, and he puts a bit too much on River Song and makes it far more convoluted. That said, she's a fascinating character, and the idea behind their relationship is super cool. Just not always executed perfectly. So seeing them discussing her excites me. HELLO SWEETY!
This is where everything gets really good in my opinion... it’s just back to back favourite episodes from this episode on for me. Love them!
3:46 I'm glad Eric laughed, at least I know it's not just me, although tbh I already knew that seeing as I've researched these at least 3 times now, I can't help myself, I love watching blind wave reactions. I swear I'm either addicted or obsessed!!
Researched?? Damn auto correct I meant to type rewatched
I forgot that this episode was going to be the next reaction and screamed a little when I saw this upload!
I screamed when I saw what episode this was!! The beginning of a crazy journey!😍💓💓
These thumbnails are so good :D
I love River so so much, and one of the things I love about this episode, is how when you first watch it you're in the same place as the doctor. Every feeling and curiosity, all the looks and questions. You can tell how River is something more, and in the next part feeling just how *much* more.. oof my heart. When you think it hurts then, but it's not till much later you know just how much. The actors are so phenomenal, the way she looks at him, and how in that one look it feels as though you can just see every moment they've shared, and you don't even know it yet! Brilliant! At least that's how I felt. Plus she's so bada// on her own!
I just love River so much D
I remember watching this for the first time and then we had a power cut... probably the most scared I have ever been...😅
Erics pokerface is incredible.
I love Eric noticing the diary and looking across the table
God this editor is so good
"...nope" - Lono.
River song is one of my favorite characters
Detective Eric is on the ball.
4:42: Picnic at Asgard? Why haven't didn't they made THAT episode?
As soon as I saw the library I remembered which episode this was. Ahhhhh! River Song!!!
Shane wants to burn a library, meanwhile I’m still salty about Alexandria. All that knowledge, gone forever.
Moffat again
You'll love this episode.. again.
The best Doctor Who episodes are always the SciFi/Horror episodes.
That girl looks like a younger version of a future companion
No she doesn’t she don’t have freckles and her hair is browner and she has a much rounder face
All Things Paper who do you think I’m talking about?
Are you talking about The Girl Who Waited or The Girl That Saved The Doctor?
obviously they meant Bill... xD
MJM Nah it's clearly Nardole!
Jesus you guys are so good at accidentally guessing what's going to happen, half the time by joking about it and half the time by predicting it
I love that Eric recognized River’s diary immediately
I've been waiting for this all week!!! SO HYPED!!
I wish they had a bit more to say about Donna. They say a lot less about her than they ever did about Rose or Martha, and she's by far my favourite of the 3. But I guess, each to their own.
These two episodes and Midnight are the ones that I most regret watching right before bed.
Did you know River's gun is really called a Sonic Blaster? Also he didn't know River because they time travel in opposite directions of time.
The best way to think of it is River and Doctor are travelling in different directions through time.
Love the thumbnail
"These books are your future..."
"Spoil all the surprises..."
Let's be real, she probably picked up a book about 2020 and the doctor shit himself in realisation.
1:44 Wow! I never noticed that line before!
