- The Mekong River is flooding in some areas right now so we travel an hour west along the river to our house in Kokhea, a little riverside village in the Sangthong District of Laos to see how it faired.

After a few months of hiatus from TH-cam, and sitting here in California as my once beloved USA goes more and more off its rocker each day, your videos present a beautiful dream. I know you have plenty to deal with and more work than you need in this phase of your life, but I love and respect you and Neenee tremendously and admire what you've accomplished. You hit the jackpot when you decided to relocate to Lao, and your life has been profoundly enriched. Laos also hit the jackpot when you chose it as the beneficiary of your great spirit, good will and generosity. You have at least equally enriched the lives of everyone whose life you and Neenee have touched there. I hope that precious Mina will remain a fixture in your videos but I don't know the status yet -- looking forward to going backward in the videos to unlock the answers to all my questions. Wow Todd that road to your place on the river is much better now, makes it much easier for people to dump their rubbish on your land. It's such a shame that you don't use that house more often, great location to just relax for a while. Mina loves her water and swimming doesn't she, such a ray of sunshine and happiness. @@NowinLao why don't you buy a cheap black tarp and cover your entire backyard so the weeds don't grow? i had a customer who was a specialist in lawn care, he said if you don't want to use your backyard and you tired of cutting grass, just cover up with black tarp, as long as no sunlight gets through, you will have minimum weeds growing.
You can fix up the house and set it up as a Airbnb... Hire someone local to watch the house. Build deck down the river so people can go swim/boating/BBQ.

Hi Todd, how’s Lao people doing I think many struggle with lives living especially financial because Lao kip keeps falling and foods and gas going up. Even we here in the U S we are struggling too.

Great area for getting away from it all at the weekend. Look into getting a ground cover crop such as perennial peanut or Singapore daisy which should stop the other weeds taking over. Looking forward to your future videos doing the place up. Best of luck with it.
Hi Guy's Well it looks like that piece of land would make a great little kitchen garden. Once scraped, it would need to be plowed, with lots of added cow shit and bio char. May be a fish pond to create buckets of FP souce.

Your videos are so good so peaceful with the music that you play that's the only thing I don't like about Thailand as well people just dump rubbish and it just ruins everything. @NowinLao I know what you mean about editing and not having much time to do other things nowadays. I'm just settling out now and building all my equipment.i don't think people understand the work that goes into doing video editing it's not just personal time it also costs a lot of money, too.. well, for me, it's going to cost a lot of money because I am a perfectionist. and want to have a lot of abilities to cover different types of terrain's, and some of the stuff comes down weight factors, so I have to use carbon fibre, and that comes at a premium like 20,000THB for a tripod .. but it will give me the quality shots i want to achieve.

@NowinLao Well, I'm in Savannakhet, and thankfully, I can get stuff shipped in from Thailand within 4 to 7 days.. it was a bit of work figuring out with Lazada and Shopee, but it is going to take me a couple of months to get my channels where I want them to be.? But I have the basics on order right now with DJI / RØDE equipment coming next week. Next month, I will start building my laptop next month so I can basically do a hackintosh system that gives me two options for macOS / Windows at lesser cost than Apple products using a Lenovo ThinkPad with 2TB for both systems and 32gb ram ..

I think I'd fence every inch of the property,,figure a way to limit the shit mongers. That's ridiculous dumping all that rubbish on your property. I was thinking, prior to your full retirement/move there, why not renovate and use as an Air BnB. The lot adjacent can be used for glamping. No need for additional, permanent structures there. You could also do the same with Neenee's other house, which you were offering for sale a bit back mate. A viewer/Patreon Mina fund campaign would be good also mate. Invest the donations at a reasonable rate of interest to fund future needs for her.🙏

@@NowinLao Something l’ve learnt from watching your videos = both of you are honest people from my experience it is very rare , I need a small place built by local people keep the money locally, always best , sorry I digress, how much it will depend what price you think is fair , trust is something you can’t buy.

That house is a great project. The floors need a good sanding and varnish. Renovating and building is a pleasure not a job imho. I'm looking forward to moving over to Laos with the Laos mrs from Thailand in about a year. I'm dying to know the price you paid for the place, you can get some real bargains over there but at the other end some will ask crazy prices cos they think farang are super rich (and a bit stupid too)🤣🤣🤣
