Hey bro, been following since you posted on the G forum on Facebook. I wanted to suggest to you for next time that if you leave the battery connected and with ignition on you could use a short pole and wedge it between to seat and gas pedal. This will open the butterfly valve all the way open while you clean it and prevent you from having and idle air learn issues once complete. Ive seen and been a victim of the idle relearn process and ended up needing new throttle bodies to fix my issue. Anyways, great video and happy this worked out for you with no issues in the end! Also, blue tooth obdlink lx dongle and Nissan data scan 3 works wonders!
Benjamin Rapp ha! Thank you, sir! I’m sure it’s a good and bad thing I’m not there anymore 😂. No more loud exhausts for you! Have any new projects you’re working on?
The backside of the Throttle bodies is actually what's dirty. I cleaned mine I don't think it's stalled since but my rpm still fluctuates a little at idel.
Today for the first time after 2 years of owning my 2017 370z, it would start and die almost immediately after. It would run perfectly once fully on but I would have to rev it to start. I'm really hoping this will fix it 🙏
@@Youknowitsab fortunately it hasn't happened again since the original time. I'm glad its gone but I would still really like to know why it was acting up. Also, I never touched anything since it happened, it just went away.
the only thing i could recommend here is that when you spray any sort of cleaner, don’t let it drip onto the components, instead try to put a rag wherever to collect the drips, run off or overflow etc….
I dont have an Infiniti but a 2009 Nissan Murano. P0507 and p0174. My rpm is currently sitting at 900-1000 while in drive. At idle rpm fluctuates between 1000-1200. No power issues while driving Highway speed. Performed the IAC Relearn procedure but to no avail. Will keep diagnosing.
I have 2011 G37 did that to it also cleaned the sensors too holy fuck my car got way faster and more responsive now i think that my car was choking 😅 haha thank you bro for the video
Great video ! Thanks ! I wonder - is it worthy to clean only outer side of the TB without unbolting it ? Does it make any sense ? I do not have any issues and low mileage on it so just like little maintenance or something . What would you suggest ? Thanks in advance!
Best video ive seen about the throttle body cleaning ! Keep it up brother! Ill be cleaning mine myself as well instead of going to a shop and be charged way more than having some of those tools since we all need them anyways ! Thank you !
You can touch those butterfly vavles inside the throttle body? Its totaly fine you just cant be rough with them and let them shut when you close gotta close slowly 😊
Because there is a tiny gear inside that holds them close. You can skip that gear back a tooth or two, and then the "re-learn" process is a pain in the butt! Instead just hit it with the throttle body cleaner *while in accessory mode* and then switch off. Do this 3 or 4 times at least. Spray the butterflies -with the pressure of the spray being the only force hitting those flaps. You'll notice after several sprays, the pressure of the spray alone finally opens the flap. Woohoo!
I know this video is old but wanted to ask. If I disconnect the negative ground on the battery will I still need to do a relearn after I'm done? I heard that if you disconnect the battery you don't have to do relearn. Do you know if this is true?
Not a bad idea. Fortunately we’re cleaning post-mass air flow meter so there’s no sensor to damage in the process. Best practice to use throttle body cleaner though. 👍
tried replacing my spark plugs and took a break when i couldn’t get the bottom right bolt on the throttle body. put everything back bud now it’s in limp mode with check engine light

These cars tend to crack the right air intake boot, just before the throttle body. This screws up the air/fuel mixture. Think it’s probably due to torque twisting of the motor. Think a check of both motor mounts might be in order.
