I spray a degreaser onto a microfibre cloth and wipe down the exposed paintwork on the bonnet and gutter areas .... Areas that are deep down I spray directly and agitate it with the brushes then dry it up with a microfibre...
Hi Dave - That was amazing, been waiting for quite awhile for a decent steam cleaner to come on the market for use around the home. What a fantastic job it has done on the engine bay, very impressive. I looked the item up and not a bad price, I also watched the videos that came with it and my question is have you ever used it to clean the inside of a oven. Talking about ovens, would you recommend any of the chemicals in use for get rid of the crud that builds up inside if you leave it to long like that engine bay?
I thought cleaning the inside of the oven was the mans job, wow yours is a keeper mate. Anyway our oven needs a professional job to clean it up so I might try some of the chemicals I got from Infinity Wax and Yum. Bit like cleaning up an engine bay LOL Will see what they can do to a small section otherwise its getting someone round or just a lot of back breaking work.
Hi Dave , this video came in time as I am thinking I will clean my Mrs car engine bay... I don't have a steam cleaner so I think I will stick to some citrus pre wash , brushes and cloths and just make it looked tidier... One thing I would like to ask , with regards to the plastic coat from infinity wax , do you think it will help with some faded interior plastic that has been exposed to sun ? And does it help to mask some scuffs on plastic? .. love the channel !
thanks mate yes it helps, bear in mind it doesnt last forever its just something keep it looking fresh. the best long term protection is g techniq trim restorer which lasts 6 months max
@@epicautomotivedetailing thank you very much for taking the time to reply ! I have heard about that product so I will have a look into it for sure now ... Once again thanks ! Looking forward for your next videos !
Good day, please do a comparison video between a garmet steamer 1800w and a steam cleaner. As a prospective detailer I would like to know if I should start with a garment steamer then later upgrade to a steam cleaner or I should just save money and buy steam cleaner. Sending Love from eSwatini (Africa) ❤
Sadly steam cleaning isn't all that for interiors. I made a video recently covering the downsides. Yes it has it's place for interior cleaning but it's not one of those tools you need every time you clean a car
Yep... Steam cleaning is the way to go. Back in the early 80's it was a case of a quick pressure wash then a quick wipe around with a dry cloth. Then leave the job of selling the car to the salesman.😂 Yes It did work 😂
Top job there Dave and thank you for the video. No one would ever believe it was the same engine bay.
Cheers Karl appreciate the kinds words

You've just reminded me I have a steamer in the back of a cupboard i always forget to use, brilliant as always 👍👌
Blimey Matt’s engine bay looked amazing Dave
He is so happy when he gets involved
Yeah it came out nice in the end, he was well happy
Doubled its value Dave. Full tank of fuel triples it. Making me think where did I put my steamer? Haven't seen it in years 😂
Great video, funnily enough, I have just recently given the engine bay on my 2002 Focus its first clean.
the matrix mate 😅
Good job Dave, that engine bay looks brilliant again
Thanks Eamon
great video, loved that and hadnt even thought of using this in those areas. Thanks
thank you
I have a very old Karcher 111. It’s rated as 100 bar and 360 l/hr. Would this be ok to use on my new-to-me car? Keep up the good work
yes 100 bar is fine just never blast it really close
Engine bay looks amazing.
Not many ppl have a steamer tho
I wud never use the pressure washer either
So APC wud u say is next best option
Understandable, pre wash or APC is plenty good enough
I use Elbow Grease from B&M or Home Bargains it does a terrific job on shifting stubborn grease and gunk
Very useful video Dave nice job!
Thank you mate
Once again another fantastic and informative video Dave.
Matt looks like a little kid at Christmas lol
he acts like one most of the time lol

Hi Chris I haven't a clue about ovens. I'll ask my wife that's her department

A garment steamer just doesn't have the pressure behind it to really shift the muck
Ive just a 2020 e-Golf. Can use a pressure washer in the engine Bay on an electric car ? Or is the steamer more secure ?
Did you have any specific problems with your previous Karcher steamer? What model did you have?
Sc3 was very weak
NEED this for interior

@@epicautomotivedetailing By bad I meant similar concept (having a beginner) clean the inside of a car
What about washing a hybrid engine bay??

I sprayed water under the hood to clean the engine area and my car is not starting now. Does anyone have any advice? It’s saying “service”
Just use tyre foam you will have a engine looking brand new in no time
ArmorAll is great for it ....
Epic! shows how a shitbox can be made to look fabulous, thanks for the demo.
Thanks Roger
Dirty laundry aired in public 😂
24 this year
Er £300? Nah.
That's not bad for a commercial steamer to be fair
