If you have a self priming water pump, and your pump keeps running continuesly, it means you ran out of water. Close all taps, fill the tank(s) and turn on the breaker of the pump. Wait till the pump stops “running”, now open the tap furdest away from the pump and let the air get out. Close the tap, the pump will keep running for a short while, until it has build up enough pressure in the system.
One little reminder, if you run out of water, turn of the water heater ( if electric ) because it has no water to heat and could damage your heating element.

If Jordan and Desiree even remotely based their followers on selling sexual innuendos, I would not be able to share it. Even the mention of "eye candy" puts me in a difficult position because I know my daughters would not approve of that description of Desiree. She always presents herself as a competent person who recognizes her strengths and that Jordan may have different strengths. During the search for a new home, both of them had well thought out reasons for liking each boat. While I appreciate her positive attitude and great smile, I just ask that it stop there. That way you see and inspect every system, remove the previous owner smells and find out what you inherited so that you can decide what to keep and what to part ways with.

There’s probably room in there for another propane tank if you want. We were warned that the water tank inspection ports have a tendency to leak if the tanks are overfilled. The small problems and discovering the fixes is why we watch and learn from you as you work through them. Reading the comments from other experienced sailors is the last piece to fill in gaps of knowledge and suggestions. Also worthwhile! So, we are now looking forward to the dodger project among others, the shake down cruises and warmer weather! Could you maybe do an episode on all of that and include talk of what you are going to transfer from A1? Missing her a bit suddenly with all her quirks and neat features! Thank you again for the inspiration through your journeys and we are excited for the next chapters!

Good solve with the mis-labeled tanks. We sometimes have water problems in our R.V. and it is always a clogged aerator on the end of the tap. If you have water problems, it helps to try the other water devices such as flushing the toilet or turning on the sink/shower in the head. That will help you with where to start looking- local or global.

West Marine has been a great deal of convenience for me too. I had to replace my fresh water pump on my boat only about a week after I bought it. I called and they had some right there in the store, an improved replacement for my old one. So I bought it and installed it the same day. Chances are a lot of systems in your boat had not been used much. Now that you two will be living aboard, systems will be used more often. So old things could fail simply from aging through the years. I wouldn't sweat it, that boat is an absolute beauty. Any of it can be fixed and it's worth it. It's easy to get overwhelmed going from a smaller boat to a much bigger boat. You two went from a "boat" to a "yacht". I was overwhelmed the moment right after I handed over the check and bought mine 😂

Wow! Y’all had me nervous for a bit there! Thank goodness Jordan came to the rescue & with some ingenuity he figured out the water system wasn’t hooked up to the correspondingly tank & some tanks had misleading labels. Now Jordan has the opportunity to fuss with the inner water tanks of Atticus & get the kitchen sink working again . While Jordan was reorganizing the 3 tanks, he discovered the tanks holding water were dirty. That will be another job for another day. Overall Jordan & Desiree seemed thrilled to finally be in their new & improved Atticus. I’m so excited to watch all the adventures that they’ll have in their new home.

A sailor i know bought a 37 Nantai for $10k without a survey. Everything was jank on the boat. Batteries were wired wrong. Fuel lines sucked air on the beta. One set of sails that were on its last leg were on the boat. Roller furler snagged 50% of the time. Steering cables were always jumping off, and the emergency tiller was 24". No fun is 6s and 8s on the Atlantic. The main ripped and we ended up taking it to hilton head where it was pulled out. We went from maryland and our goal was galveston before all systems went south east of mobile. It was an adventure.

But i'm well aware of how it works in the northern hemisphere. the real difference is for a latitude north of the equator where rivers and harbours ice up, the equivalent latitude south of the equator doesn't ice up so no need to haul out.
