Fascinating story. Do you think the dolphins intentionally led Koz to this woman? Could be. They’re smart. Then Koz did everything right and saved a life. Amazing. Subscribe for more vids. 👍 Also, camera was a bit out of focus for most of the interview, Ugh. Nonetheless, I had to share this incredible story no matter what. Have a great week wherever you are in the world!
I imagine she hadn't ever watched JAWS! I think the dolphins stuck around and kept her safe from predators just with their presence. Pretty sure they were trying to signal to the boat. Great interview, thanks for giving him time and space to tell his tale . ..
This guy should be running something. He's far more competent humble and intelligent than many of our leaders. This is my second time watching this. A miracle!
Hey Josh. I was the paramedic that responded and treated this patient. It’s a wonderful story of survival and a wonderful story that Mr. Koz found her.
“I’m not a hero,I was scared the whole time..”. Ummm,Sir, I think that’s the very definition of a hero. Being brave doesn’t mean you don’t experience fear…. Congratulations to you and your “crew”. Great job,I’m so happy that she had the grit to go on that long.
It's a different kind of report compared to TV news. This guy has way more time where as a TV report needs to cover as much of the story as they can in the little time provided.
I totally love this guy. Buys a boat, takes some classes, invites some friends sailing, GIVES THEM SOME TRAINING, and they save a life. Well done. ❤️🙏🏻
I truly believe it was Divine Intervention. This “ special “ gentleman may not realize it, but, he was definitely doing GOD’S Work 🙏🏼♥️‼️. May GOD Bless him, for “ going by the book” in his 101 & 103 training courses, & purchasing all of the proper equipment to have on his boat . He displayed the perfect example of a “ novice sailor “ ( his words). Teaching his guests the steps to take, in case a life saving event should arise, etc. He may not realize it yet, but he was serving GOD🙏🏼 ✝️.
God is awesome! God knows each sparrow that falls from the sky! He cares! God directed this guy to buy boat take classes buy Amazon rescue float invite and train friends dolphins to get the humans attention
I love dolphins. Nobody believes my story from 30 yrs ago but dolphins saved my kids life when he went over board. Three of them lifted him up right into my arms then hung out for a while. Absolutely amazing!!! Love love love dolphins!
lright, so why do people keep referring to a survivor as a hero ? It's so cringy ! Survivor is not the same thing as a hero ! The hero is the one who rescues the survivor !
A survivor of a horrific event who keeps going on is in effect rescuing themselves. My son rescued himself many times until he could no longer find a reason.
you don't need emotions or feel fear to be a hero, a psychopath saving a life while risking his own would still be qualified as a hero what ever his motive was or framework he is working by.
My friend, you are too modest. I am a 40 year sailor, you did EVERYTHING right. You remembered your training, you managed your resources, crew and tools, and you saved that VERY lucky lady's life. Well done. You most certainly ARE a hero. Thank you.
I was surprised that he didn't mention say anything about approaching the woman with the boat pointed into the wind. That was the first thing I thought of. But in any case, he got the job done. Bravo to that man.
If there was more experienced people on board, one should have strapped himself and jump to help the woman up, that woman is a survivor, but climbing a sailboat in that condition is hard..
Yes, but it took him 20 minutes to ask the question. ''I was wondering, uhh, I know the waters cold, uhh, but when you went into the water, did you have anyone with you, because, bla blalbla''ect. and on and on....
You are definitely the hero of this event. I had a very similar thing happen six years ago on Lake Erie as a novice sailor after a woman and her boyfriend decided to take a swim from their small boat 3 miles off shore and the wind swept the boat away. I barely heard her cry for help over the radio and just caught a glimpse of her head between the waves. She had been treading water for about 3 hours and was depleted. Sadly her boyfriend disappeared before we found her. My wife and I pulled her to safety and radioed the coast guard who sent a crew out also in about 10 minutes as well as a helicopter to search for her boyfriend. The body was recovered later that evening. Anyway, you did an incredible thing and saved a life due to your training and ability to respond to a crisis. Of course the woman was incredibly lucky you were at the right place at the right time.
I am a professional boat captain in Maine who has rescued swimmers on several occasions over the past 50 years so I know how difficult it can be to get a semi conscious person out of the water. This fellow deserves a lot of credit for what he accomplished. As for the woman I can't believe that she managed to hold on under those conditions for 12 hours. A simply incredible feat requiring a level of courage and determination hard to overstate. Great interview!
If someone has never tried to haul a limp person on board, they have NO idea how heavy, awkward, and slippery they are. Even an exhausted water skier can take two muscular people.
It IS an incredible feat, her courage and determination should be praised, but at the same time, she should be (gently) reminded that going for a midnight swim, alone, & naked, ....is pretty darned stupid.
I am a professional mariner and he did an excellent job. That's why we have procedures and drills. You keep doing those, skipper. It is refreshing to see a recreational skipper taking it seriously. Thank you, sir.
He is so well spoken, so calm, and she had an angel find her. This guy, I could listen to the whole story again really. He may be a Novice Sailor, but he is a Master Human.
Mr Koz Khosravani is a wonderful narrator filling us in on all the things he had just learned from his sailing classes, and how they helped him in his rescue attempts. IMO, he has the makings of a leader. He is quite charming, modest and a quick thinker who applies his newly acquired knowledge!
In a few moments a novice sailor becomes a captain, directs the actions of a crew and saves a life. This happened because he took training believing that being on a boat is serious business. He also managed his fear, he said he was scared the whole time. Someone wrote "fear is an emotion and courage is a decision".
I was on a rescue crew in the Navy for 2 years in Guam and we rescued approximately 10 to 15 people. We've had similar stories of finding people that we're out on the water and no one even knew they were there. Two men and a woman were on a fishing boat that was capsized. The radio was underwater and they had not told anyone they were going fishing. We were out cruising around the island and just happened to see them. This woman is very lucky. You may not think so but I believe God had a hand in that rescue.
As a retired Merchant marine Capt. I have to say this man is 1 in a 100! Nowadays all you need is some money and you can buy a boat that you don't even have to prove you can operate. He took it on himself to get some training and equipment. I have the utmost respect for him and am glad he was in the right place/right time. You actually ARE a Hero
Amazing metaphysical story....the dolphins did lead the captain to the young lady...I know I was in a similar situation in the gulf of Paris and was guided and escorted back to land by a fleet of stingrays. . The captain metaphysical instincts also played a major part. Blended love
Even the interviewer is excellent as he lets the gentleman talk without interruption. After all the depressing news in the world this is such a heart warming story. TY

It’s the training plus the mindset . When we arrived in Vancouver from England my brother bought a small boat at the Marina. As we boarded (he had no experience boating). Fortunately we were just feet from the dock when we noticed the boat filling with water. We were able to get off the boat and we watched it go to Davey Jones for his collection.
Of all the compliments this man gets for the rescue he is most commendable for teaching his guests some basic emergency procedures before their journey.
I always give a general safety brief and emphasize what to do in a man overboard situation, Especially, if I’m the one who goes overboard. One time one of my passengers said she would dive in to help me. I gently explained that, that was a bad idea as we would have two people in the water.
Yes. Many boaters are not prepared for the possibility of the Captain becoming disabled or falling overboard! (Much less finding a person alone in the ocean)
As a boat owner and sailor of 40 years I can only say how impressed I am his willingness to take serious his lessons and his ability to apply those things he learned to saving a life at sea. He did everything right given the tools available to him.
This man is a HERO because he took his role as "amateur" CAPTAIN seriously and familiarized his guest with the man overboard procedure. Hope the lady in water is doing well and has a great appreciation for the gift of life.
8/7/2024 - Not a hero, because he did something he is required to do, namely, instruct his guests on procedures for emergencies, like rescuing somebody who goes overboard. A hero is a person who does something he is not required to do.
8/12/2024 - No to all you hero worshippers, this guy was not a hero. A hero is someone who risks his life where he is not required. For example, a father who goes into a burning house to save his infant son is not a hero, because society expects that of a father. B T W, this video was clickbait, for why else would the thumbnail mention "naked girl?" I mean what did nakedness of a girl have to do with the story about rescue? Come on people! Wake up.
It was a one in a million chance of seeing a "hand" in the middle of the ocean. This gentleman is a total hero for changing his direction and going to search out the situation.
He is a type of "hero", but that word is generally used to describe someone who put their life or health in jeopardy to save others FI, Sully did not feel he was a hero, because he was just doing his job the way he was trained, and he could not have run away and opted out of the situation if he had chosen to
I don’t believe in coincidences. This man, highly intelligent, organized, not lazy, followed Dolphins that lead him to a woman about to drown is surly divine providence. God bless his humble self.
You diminish Mr. Koz and his skill as a captain by attributing to your invisible friend. It's arrogant of you to assert you have special knowledge with no proof.
No, it's the atheist who's arrogant. All things denote the hand of God, but some people are too mule-headed to acknowledge or appreciate all that He has done.
@@Fred-mp1vf Yes, indeed, God was in charge of the whole rescue...regardless of what some people think or say!! 100% God gets the Glory...he uses people all the time.
@@carlpierce2486You will think what you want. We have been given liberties that can place us right where this woman was and right where this man was whose good nature was to rescue her. In the late 1940s my grandfather was swimming off the coast of La Jolla and was suddenly hit hard by a porpoise, knocking the wind out of him. He started to sink, but the porpoise, pushed him up and kept him high enough above water to recover and he was able to swim back to shore after a few minutes. They are pretty smart animals.
This guy was born to sail.he thought of stuff that i missed and I've sailed before(not as captain obviously).buying extra supplies....asking if she was alone..incredible.hes a very wise man and a true hero.GIVE HIM A MEDAL!!!
I agree that he should receive some kind of a METAL. When I was 14, my best friend (at the time) & our moms (who were also good friends), went to the beach. My friend (who was much taller & stronger than me) went out into the ocean, farther than I would ever go, . so I challenged myself, went through a little wave 🌊 & made it. I was saying, “YEAY, . I made it!!!” And was so proud of myself, . . But, . . when I started swimming back to the shore line (she was already half way there), I began to notice. . . I’m not getting any closer at all. I tried harder & continued failing! I became really scared 😱 & yelled out my friend’s name, “V I C K Y Y Y Y Y!” She’s like, . “W H A T?!” I shouted, “I CAN’T get back in!” She’s like, “YES you can!” I SHOUTED, “NOOOO, . . I’M SERIOUS, . I CAN’T!!! “I NEED YOUR HELP!!!” She said, “OH BROTHERRR, . . . OKAY.” Vicky swam right over to me & took me by my hand & pulled me in. (WHEWW!). WHAT a RELIEF!!! That was the last time I ever did that. The tide had pulled me out & that exactly what happened to that lady. It’s extremely terrifying when you find out, you don’t have control over your body anymore & the ocean & the wind, does! I also believe that the Dolphins knew she needed help. Thank God for everything happening, the way it did! So glad she got rescued!!!
Mr. Khosravani gets my vote for hero status. He did exactly what a boat owner should do (but rarely does). He learned what he needed to know _before_ he set sail on a significant trip. He prepared well for emergencies, trained himself and his guests in an extraordinary way, and then he executed a modified version of what he had learned -- brilliantly. So he is wise, smart, capable, careful, caring, and a good person. That's pretty remarkable. Bravo, sir!
Well said. Being a hero does not mean not being afraid. It often involves being at the right place and right time, and most of all, caring enough to do what it takes to help others in need.
He is really a good student, a good teacher, a good sailor, and a good human being...he learned and applied what he was taught in the sailing courses right away. Teaching his guests what he learned was very smart and very responsible. He is also very humble, but he is a true hero. He attributes all to pure luck and coincidence, but everything he is recounting, all the events seem to align perfectly, as if they were supposed to happened that way...as if he was training to safe her life later on.
Listening to him describe the methodical way in which he prepared himself and his guests for an afternoon out on his sailboat, I felt this is his character and this is how he approaches life. I wonder what he does/did for a living. He's certainly a leader. Such an amazing story. May dolphins guide him safely through his journeys on the water. 🙏
Yes! Such responsible preparations and instructions to his guest for a three our cruise! (Remember Gilligan's Island was based on a three hour cruise! Ha!)
@@karentate9114 He reminds me of my brother who also has a boat and has rescued people - though not as dramatically - I'm voting for he was an engineer.
This is the kind of person you'd want to go sailing with. He is responsible and thinks of his passengers first and learned the proper way to sail. He also had all the proper equipment, etc. I don't trust any people to go boating with, but I would go with him.
Nice Job and way to go, Koz! I am a retired USCG merchant marine and spent 20 years running charters. I saved a few vessels in distress. You did really well. You were meant to be there. Blessings to you, sir.
Such a lovely man. NO CONTEST!!! In a world short on authenticity, he is truly a hero. Right place/right time and more. For such a time as this. So inspiring. Such a blessing.
Such an apt word for this gentleman, authentic. As any true hero would say, they aren't a hero, but an extremely lucky girl to have someone sail past in that location when they did. I'm guessing she didn't have much longer to survive, she sounded very weak. It's a shame she wouldn't give an interview, even if to just thank Koz. I hope she has reached out to say thank you.
Wonderful story with a happy ending. I also love the way that he has preserved her privacy and modesty during the rescue, asking his lady guests to help her onboard. What a gentleman.
This is an excellent example of the value of preparedness. I really applaud his dedication for getting trained and preparing as best he could for his ocean cruise. Even to the point of training his passengers. He is an excellent role model. The lady that he rescued is a survivor, floating for 12 hours is no easy feat. It's amazing they found each other out in the ocean like that.
Ok/but if you were this person lost at sea. I'm guessing your not gunna be thinking, HEY IF IT WASNT FOR YAMAHA OUTBOARD MOTORS? OR AMAZON? IM GUESSING THE WOMAN IN THE WATER HAS BEEN PRAYING TO GOD FOR MANY MANY HOURS. GIVE GOD PRAISE PRAISE PEOPLE!
Great story. California native here. Getting alerted to an emergency such as this is right up my alley. I used to work for the phone company many years ago before the break up with the so-called "Ma Bell" Telephone Network. I worked in a specialized department that specifically dealt with ship to shore, air-to-ground, marine, vessel assist, emergency boating rescues, and intermittent Coast Guard transmissions. My 'territory' went all the way from the industrial port of Long Beach all the way out to the pleasure port of Marina del Rey. I can tell you from my experience this man did everything exactly right. This is exactly what we tell other boaters to do, when faced with certain sailing, swimming, and man-overboard emergency's situations. As an emergency services telephone operator you always wish and hope that the public responds so well when out at sea. The fact that he was a first-time newly certified boater, he definitely dotted all of his I's and crossed all his T's.
Dolphins know a human in distress and very aware of fully functioning ones (we see them chasing/racing craft all the time) and this was their way of pulling the party to the disabled one, create a show. .
And bless the dolphins! We don't yet know the human - dolphin connection. Is it like the human - dog connection? Great question to research. Thanks to the man who became a sailor and saved a human life! 🙏❤️🤗 DJ
As a dive enthusiast & just lover of water in general, this is incredible. I’m blown away that she tread water for 12 hours. Never underestimate Will power.
When I went through lifeguard training in the early 70s, we had to tread water in the ocean for a couple of hours, but we weren’t naked. We had on our street uniforms and used them as flotation devices. Even those couple of hours treading and being a strong swimmer was exhausting.
What a guy. This man may be a novice sailor, but he's clearly a very capable and resourceful person who has all the right instincts. "I used the training that I had to do the best I can do." Who could do more?
The dolphins probably protected her and alerted him to her. Yes, he is a rare individual. When you purchase a boat you need to get the proper instruction and equipment. Kudos and blessings 🙌 to this man. Humble. ❤
It needs to become international law to protect dolphins. They have proven themselves to be humanity's friends in the ocean and it would only be humanly ethical to return the favor.
What a story. Amazing how well prepared he was. So few boaters prepare themselves like that. The fact that he took classes, and then trained his crew before they went out is just amazing. There are so many boaters out there that are totally unprepared, uneducated and untrained. Great example of a what a boat owner should be.
Hope the bigger result of this is that more young boaters get safety training. I've been sailing for 40 years and heck I could use a refresher course! I'm wondering how the crew got that slippery, near lifeless body onto the boat without bodily damage, and what instructions would safety training provide for such a situation, based on what equipment this crew had at their disposal.
@@hd-xc2lz there is nothing worse than "dead weight". And wet=slippery too. Great cooperation of his friends too. Yes, Dolphins certainly played a part in this. All is an act of God. She had better do some heavy on-her-knees prayers of thank you to God. If not before, I'm sure she is a believer now. Fantastic work on this man's part. I would love to know what he did for a living, I'm thinking engineer, medical, military. Very disciplined, purposeful, "needs to know" personality. The right man for the job, part of God's plan. Wow!
"MIRACULOUSLY" WELL Prepared, AND GUIDED!! - From The Interest In being Informed about The Boat, To Actually Buying It! - To being a Very Muture, Concerned, VERY Reponsibly Trainned, & Equipped Individual. - To being Led & Guided To be Out On The Water, EXACTLY "WHEN & WHERE" his Service Was NEEDED!! This man is very intelligent he wanted to learn how to sail and he prepared himself and his boat properly and took being on the water serious unlike a lot of boaters. A very intelligent well prepared man.
Not only that but he is from Iran. Came here 43 years ago, wound up teaching at Harvard, the guy is an internet expert, very brilliant. He is up to challenges.
@@saran.4001 What a #1 HERO!!! I've heard of other drunk ppl rescuing other boaters & losing one of their lives. This man did everything right & went over & above by teaching each guest how to join him & have an enjoyable day.
This man’s preparations were pretty well exemplary. I don’t know anyone who gives instructions on man- overboard procedures to his guests who are not sailors . He took excellent responsibility for his preparations as a novice sailor . In addition he thought he saw an arm , followed his instincts and did not ignore it . An admirable man indeed , and a rarity in a world full of people who are not terribly aware .
Imagine if he had been some spoiled bitch Millennial or Zoomer, taking a freaking selfie. Thank God he is a good person, not a narcissist!! I hope she shows her gratitude, like, every Christmas or something, sending him something nice or making a charitable donation in his honor or something.
Being a medical n auxilluary coastguard, calling mayday is seconds!!!especially when there are other people there .. 2. And a real rescue is one or 2 of them jumping into water ..and a lifejacket for her ..3. hauling somrone in can be lethal the way they acted
@@gielee117 That’s exactly what I was thinking-why didn’t someone jump in after her? They had 2 flotation devices and also probably life jackets. And she was too tired to even hang on to it. Luckily (again) she grabbed the next one, but where would they be if it floated away. How long did it say the coast guard took to get there. 10 min? Maybe like someone said, they should have called it immediately.
As a career firefighter and dive team member, this story was really touching. I can only imagine the emotions aboard that boat that day. A fun, relaxing day became something quite different for this captain and his friends. And, I disagree, you are most certainly a hero. You were calm, observant and youdedicated yourself to the victim. No, not everyone would do all of those things. Congratulations Koz, I've shared this with firefighters everywhere and it's an honor.
@@jessicaporte5801 You know Jessica, that's what I thought all through this story. And in my opinion, yes. A frantic swimmer that's in panic mode is potentially dangerous and can take a rescuer down trying to "climb" him/her. However, in this case, the woman wasn't fighting and was barely conscious, according to the captain. So yes, you are right, I think someone should have gone in immediately, to make sure her head stayed above water. But, people are afraid of the potential unknown consequences of things like that, so I understand their hesitation completely. I can only imagine how difficult it was to get her in the boat. It's almost impossible, unless you have a sling under the victim and some strong lifting strength on the boat. Someone in the water is no help at all, since they can't push (they just sink). Thankfully they sure did a great job it seems.
Thank you Randy, for your kind compliments. You and other firefighters are true heroes. The name of the water rescue fire fighter was Matt Rhodes. You should listen to the conversation between the two of us: You are a hero! No, you were the hero that day in that boat! Yes, but you guys are heroes, day in and day out rescuing people! Our compliments to one another goes back and forth. Matt is a hell of a guy and a credit to all fire fighters...

First class dude, Ive sailed for thousands of hours and I think the ASA courses are really great they really focus on what you really need. Testament to you and your training Bravo.
He’s a hero in my book. To be 3 miles off shore and be able to spot a hand? That’s incredible. I do believe the dolphins were an important part as well since their presence was what directed Coz to see the woman’s hand.
Mr. Khosravani, thank you for not giving up on the female in the water. Thank you for taking the sailing course, learning the procedures you did and training the guests onboard before leaving! Having watched numerous sea shows involving dolphins, whales and the like, the dolphins had a hand in leading you to her. You did everything right, taking care not to position the boat to possibly injure her, knowing the wind conditions on your sail versus the motor strength and the effects. You are well spoken and the interviewer allowed you to talk and didn't interrupt you, kudos to John Post for not interfering. Doubtful she would have been rescued as the tide pushed her out away from shore and she was very lucky you and the dolphins were there! I understand you don't call yourself a hero, I would say the same thing, but you performed like an outstanding human being!
Good for him, and bad for me. I also enrolled in that course when I bought my first boat. I bought the book, but I never studied, so I never completed the course.
Koz you sre a hero. You took becoming a sailor very seriously & took the training. I'm so impressed that you taught your guests what to do, what a difference that made. Thank goodness you had guests to help. Bravo!!!
We need more people like this man in our world today. Not self serving in any way. He took sailing seriously, with training (and extra), bought correct equipment (and extra), did not go out and drink and even gave his guests a small exercise in safety. And after he successfully rescued this woman, he’s humble about it and not trying to be some “big” man. Just so rare these days.
A guy who didn't take classes just to over pay and get an underpaid job. - Imagine just going to school because you WANT to learn something. - Definitely need more of him and less capitalism l
What a great story. The man definitely was prepared and he even trained his guests. I am sure the dolphins knew she was there and got the boats attention directed towards her. They are amazing animals. I am sure Gods hands guided them to help her. Awesome! You are a hero
The interviewer let this hero tell his story without interruption, which made the story all the more intriguing. Koz, your a hero in my book God bless!
@Hoboken Right?!! I thought the same thing. What a beautiful human being this man is. From start to finish, this man did all of the right things. To all of those involved in this amazing rescue ✨🙏✨
Wow, Mr. Khosravani's was well spoken in his story. He is an example of a person who cared enough to be well prepared to buy extra equipment, learn how to radio the Coast Guard for rescue, watch a video on the process as to how to rescue an overboard person and another video on how to use flares. He was intelligent and used common sense to figure out what steps he needed to do to manage the sailing boat, direct his 3 visiting crew what to do and had even instructed them before embarking what they would need to do if someone were to go overboard. A true sailor. The woman was so lucky. My thought is that the dolphins were there being curios or protecting her. Thanks for this fascinating interview.

Dolphins are our fans as we are theirs. I remember a swimmer doing a charity challenge to assist dolphins with funding. When sharks surrounded him, dolphins came to his rescue and he was able to complete the challenge. Always amazed me !
At first I thought you meant the dolphins were grateful after reading about him raising money for them. Obviously they just heard the public announcements same as everyone else.
Dolphins have been known to save lives, whales and sharks too! Many of God’s creations are known to save lives! Basically, I bet she was praying to God the whole time and needed to change her life!
What a wonderful man!! He and the rescued young woman are both heroes to me! And of course his guests that helped! Oh, and let’s not forget the dolphins who were the reason he saw her in the first place! Cheers
A modern day miracle, a hand comes up out of the water and this Captain of the Catamaran sees what looks like a hand, in the meantime these wonderful dolphins are gracefully going through their movements, around her, he is thinking false alarm then he sees the hand again, it really is a human hand amongst the dolphins and this modest man’s mind and training kick into gear. Previously he had trained his guests on board, in case a rescue on the sea was needed, and yes it is; on board are two women who once the naked woman is able to be bought safety onto the boat, they bring the right items to cover over her and to get her body warm . This woman had been skinny dipping on her own, when she became disoriented and the current swept her some distance for 12 hours she had been treading water - Uau ! Wow ! So mind boggling to think about this story as it unfolded but thanks to this newbie on the water, this woman’s life was saved. *Dolphins, close to the dolphins * a hand in the water, * a Captains keen eyes and the *rescue plan put into action to save this woman’s life. Obrigada Captain ! e Obrigada Jesus !! Thank you Captain ! and Thank you Jesus !!
It may sound silly but it seems like the lady who told him about the boat for sale was an angel who knew this guy was a modern person who takes the initiative to take classes, get his license, become an expert when he could have been there knowing nothing about what to do. He invested in equipment, did everything a person could do to be ready for this emergency. He learned about currents, geography, his boat. Did the woman who turned him on to the boat know what was going to happen and knew he was the best person to place on the spot? Out of everyone I knew (born in SoCal, lived there 45 yrs) boating along the coast there (amateurs, no big serious boats), this man is by far the most conscientious brand new boat captain EVER! What a wonderful, intellectually curious and valiant man! TY from a fellow citizen!
Well Done Sir, Well Done! - from a 20 year Active Duty US Coast Guard Retired Officer (and BIG thanks to our Dolphin Friends). I've seen them do things I could not believe.
I like to say: I find the more I plan, practice and prepare, the luckier I get. You sir, deserve a LOT of credit for your planning and preparation. You were clearly prepared to take care of your vessel and passengers, as well as unforeseen circumstances. Bravo!
I found the same truth about giving speeches or presentations that once terrified me. Preparing is everything. The fact that he recently took the course was also key .
I was just thinking about that, in a situation where every second counts, every second of preparation counted the most...it's of value to every future situation. This whole story points to the value of "constructing" your future with a solid foundation, it's a stunning example!
Yes- his dedication to the knowledge- skill set- of sailing actually saved a life! I think the dolphins should get an accolade also…. Who could not love a happy ending involving dolphins? Wonderful man who seeks and applies knowledge. Exemplary. Dolphins were too.
Sir God had a purpose for you. I’m retired from the US Coast Guard. I was a Corpsman “medic” and can tell you from my years of experience very seldom do individuals survive that long in the ocean. Most individuals with either Die of exposure or just both physical and mental fatigue. You are an excellent example as to how important taking basic training not only in sailing but what to do in an emergency. You not only took the initiative to educate yourself but you made sure your guests got a quick crash coarse before you set sail. I wish every person who operates a vessel regardless of what type vessel it is would take classes as you did before venturing out. I’ve flown search and rescues and the fact you even spotted this woman is a miracle. We are trained what to look for and even then finding a person in open water especially one who was submerged as much as she was is almost impossible. The Good Lord was with her fir 12 hours and he sent an angel to her aid. God’s abundant blessing to you and your 3 guests and to the very lucky young woman you saved.

Find the woman and get her story.

I'm a sailor (serious, UK to West Indies for example) and what this chap managed to do was incredible. One very lucky lady.
Too big for luck.🥰
In a few moments a novice sailor becomes a captain, directs the actions of a crew and saves a life. This happened because he took training believing that being on a boat is serious business. He also managed his fear, he said he was scared the whole time. Someone wrote "fear is an emotion and courage is a decision".
OMG what a great saying. It wraps it all up. Hero.🙏

Fortunately we were just feet from the dock when we noticed the boat filling with water. We were able to get off the boat and we watched it go to Davey Jones for his collection.

As a boater I 100% agree about giving guests basic "just in case" rescue & safety instructions. This man did phenomenal.

I'm wondering how the crew got that slippery, near lifeless body onto the boat without bodily damage, and what instructions would safety training provide for such a situation, based on what equipment this crew had at their disposal.
@@hd-xc2lz Good point. I'm a 40+ year sailor, and I'm doing a 12 hour refresher course later this month for exactly those reasons.
@@ro4317 So smart, and thank you for your example, I will do the same in July.
A Truly Wondrous, Confirmation! And Amazing Story! - And, Again I Must Sincerely Thank, Josh Post For Sharing It With Us!! - PEACE, Everyone!
This man is very intelligent he wanted to learn how to sail and he prepared himself and his boat properly and took being on the water serious
unlike a lot of boaters. A very intelligent well prepared man.
Not only that but he is from Iran. Came here 43 years ago, wound up teaching at Harvard, the guy is an internet expert, very brilliant. He is up to challenges.
@@saran.4001 wow that is wonderful.
@@saran.4001 What a #1 HERO!!! I've heard of other drunk ppl rescuing other boaters & losing one of their lives. This man did everything right & went over & above by teaching each guest how to join him & have an enjoyable day.
What a Man!
What a special man! That lady was not meant to die that day!
💯
@@gielee117 That’s exactly what I was thinking-why didn’t someone jump in after her? They had 2 flotation devices and also probably life jackets. And she was too tired to even hang on to it. Luckily (again) she grabbed the next one, but where would they be if it floated away. How long did it say the coast guard took to get there. 10 min? Maybe like someone said, they should have called it immediately.
Instructing his guests was largely self preservation. He taught his crew in case he fell overboard.
Question, would it have been a good idea for someone to jump in for her had they been a good swimmer, or is that dangerous and counter productive?
@@kozkhosravani1949 you are truly a hero and such a kind soul. The world is very lucky to have you. You rescued one woman, but you have now touched the hearts and lives of thousands. Thank you. 💗
This gentleman was the best example of a novice sailor that I have ever heard-she was lucky to encounter his boat.
A story like this really helps to hear when so much bad news is constantly circulating. God bless them all for a heroic save!
Definitely Gods hand in all of this
Yes, good humans
Yeeaaasssss! So sick of negative
Amen.☁️🎺👼💒🙏🌹
Well said. Thank you.
That’s what heroes do. Never want the credit but we have to act knowledge you sir Captain of Del Rey
Good for him, and bad for me. I also enrolled in that course when I bought my first boat. I bought the book, but I never studied, so I never completed the course.
For sure.👍👍👍👍👍🤩
Check out AWP Adventure's with Purpose their a diving team who does searches for missing people in the lakes and rivers

GOD bless him always!
What does capitalism have to do with this man's experience?
What a great story. The man definitely was prepared and he even trained his guests. I am sure the dolphins knew she was there and got the boats attention directed towards her. They are amazing animals. I am sure Gods hands guided them to help her. Awesome! You are a hero
agree
Did God guide her out to sea on her night swim just so he could look good later?
I thought the same 🥰 🐬🐬🐬
Dolphins are renowned for helping sailors
Dolphins possibly, the devine not so much. Why can't you Americans believe in just luck without involving your god in anything and everything.
Man stayed calm with processing what to do with rescuing woman. She's lucky. He is a hero
He is quite extraordinary ! She survived because of this man !! Incredible
What a wonderful man. I have traveled by sailboat across the Pacific Ocean and many other places this gentleman did a brilliant job.
A very humble, intelligent and sensible man. There was something very charismatic about him that made me feel, "I wish he was my friend.”
That's Incredible!!! This man is amazing. What a critical thinker. I'd want him around in any emergency. God bless him.

Saving someone's life is a heroic act. I salute that person who saved the woman from drowning in the middle of the sea. May God bless him always.
Mr Koz, your the best of who we are. You saw something and you did something. “You and your passengers saved a life.”
The interviewer let this hero tell his story without interruption, which made the story all the more intriguing. Koz, your a hero in my book God bless!
Yes, good point! I agree 💯
And, I'm sure you are a hero to the woman you saved.
Yes! That, is uncommon.
@Hoboken Right?!! I thought the same thing. What a beautiful human being this man is. From start to finish, this man did all of the right things. To all of those involved in this amazing rescue ✨🙏✨
Touche!
A humble man and certainly a hero to the woman he rescued.
Truly an act of God to have all of these facts, events, participants in a row. I call them God's Domino's.
@@karentate9114 I like that 👌 😏
Plus you hear about so many people buying a used boat which is a money-pit. He seems to have done OK there.
Mary. He may not realize, or acknowledge that it was truly Divine Intervention. To GOD BE THE GLORY. NO LUCK, just GOD all the way 🙏🏼✝️♥️‼️
@@hummingbird275 that's what l say it was God protection of her. God was in total control from he purchasing the sail boat taking the class . Having the class with his crew.... filming the dolphins 🐬 all this was God's doing from the beginning of the boat.
Thank you so much, Koz...you definitely are a hero. The woman treading water in the ocean is so lucky you could rescue her, with your shipboard guests. I'm sure there's not a day when she isn't thanking you for saving her life. Blessings. You are the kind of seaman everyone wants to meet. 💕
The genuine humility, goodness, and intelligence of this man shines through with every word he speaks. I have enormous respect and admiration for him. Thank you sir for what you have done.

A true hero doesn't consider himself to be a hero, your preparedness and keeping calm under pressure is what sets you apart from the crowd. You sir are the best kind of hero.
This is a great man. I’m impressed with him and the whole rescue.
What a wonderful man. He was so prepared and thorough, and that, plus luck, saved this woman's life. It's a wonderful story with a great outcome.
A lot more than just "luck". Divine Intervention, unquestionably.
What a smart, well prepared man! For a novice sailor or boater, he was so careful and intelligent! That woman was truly fortunate!
Dolphins are our fans as we are theirs.
I remember a swimmer doing a charity challenge to assist dolphins with funding.
When sharks surrounded him, dolphins came to his rescue and he was able to complete the challenge. Always amazed me !
What ? No video of her ?
Yes ALMITY GOD WAS THERE AND HER DAY WAS NOT THAT DAY!
I wonder what opponent the Chargers were playing on the field. It would be neat if it was the Dolphins.
What a wonderful man!! He and the rescued young woman are both heroes to me! And of course his guests that helped! Oh, and let’s not forget the dolphins who were the reason he saw her in the first place!
Cheers
yes this man may not thank yes a her but he is
MOST CERTAINLY AN ANGEL THEN!!
he is more like an angel.
A modern day miracle, a hand comes up out of the water and this Captain of the Catamaran sees what looks like a hand, in the meantime these wonderful dolphins are gracefully going through their movements, around her, he is thinking false alarm then he sees the hand again, it really is a human hand
amongst the dolphins and this modest man’s mind and training kick into gear. Previously he had trained his guests on board, in case a rescue on the sea was needed, and yes it is; on board are two women who once the naked woman is able to be bought safety onto the boat, they bring the right items to cover over her and to get her body warm .
This woman had been skinny dipping on her own,
when she became disoriented and the current swept her some distance for 12 hours she had been treading water - Uau !
What a georgous man it's nice to know there are such kind souls in the world ready to help each other.
🌊 I love how humble Koz is and Love that the Dolphins aimed him toward her❣️
You know he's a great captain for taking a non required course. Well done, Sir.
It's a miracle from my perspective and the dolphins had their part to do. Good job, Koz!
You nailed it! So true.
Amen to that xxxx
An amazing story that came for an amazing man! May our good Lord continue to bless him and the woman whom he saved! It’s too bad they may not have actually met. I would have enjoyed listening to them “reliving” their unbelievable escapade!!!
Stop with the god stuff. If God was around she wouldn't have been in that situation.
@@MrTruthAddict God is always around. However, He gave us all free will and sometimes bad things do happen through no fault of our own.
