Great review. I just bought the black one for a graduation gift for a mate. I've owned the grey one for a couple of years and love it! Definitely recommend going the nato route instead of the bracelet on these - it's a very good nato, and you can always pick up a bracelet if that's what you want.
I bought this in Navy. Hated the bracelet after 2 days wish i just bought the cheaper nato model, swapped it for a lovely blue rubber strap and it is now its brilliant to wear any day all day. The dial is clean, the sun burst finishing captures the light beautifully. I highly recommend these watches as your getting what I think is a strap monster, good quality, reliable functions and nice looking watch for the price.
Great work with the review, I'm definitely a fan of this series, shame about the bracelet having a pressed clasp at the price. Other than that, I'm impressed.
Thanks a lot mate! It’s an excellent all-rounder but I definitely think It’s about time Seiko made a decent bracelet as a standard if the prices are being raised. 👍🏽
@@alextomlinson1725 you'd be surprised just how cheap milled are, you can buy them brand new for £5 so just imagine how cheap they are to make. Seiko could use them on these, they just choose to scrimp.
Nice watch, I've been looking at this watch for some time. My concern is my wrist size is about 6½ inches and 38mm case size is perfect for me... Do you think 40mm is too big ?
Agree with you above the logo but it's not going to happen. You may know Grand Seiko is a seperate run computer ( yes, other pedants, same parent co. ) and its products are are all high end so no differentiation between price point sub brands is required (imho). Yes ( this is getting long; get comfy) micro brands offer value but I don't see my local watch repairer listing any of them , along with seiko, omega et al . Sure, I could ask in years to come to just change the movement ( DIY job?..mmm..). Strapcode &/ or Miltat on UK Amazon, Long Island watch & Uncle Seiko offer bracelets for this model.Phew(!).
You’re definitely spot on with sub branding and price point and no Seiko probably wont change it as they will certainly have their reasons but from a wearers perspective, that odd 5 under the logo does take some of the cleanness and elegance away. If it was printed on to the crown or the case back I feel the wearers experience would be elevated. Its like a constant reminder that you bought the “Barebones” version. We already know that from the price we paid. 😂 But that’s just me, I still think the watch is awesome!
Thanks for your thoughts there. The day/date complication does take up a lot of space on the dial and could do with some refinement. However if someone wants this feature in particular, it’s great for the money. 👍
p l e a s e turn down the gain, especially on the intro-music. the gain keeps peaking when you're talking too, making it _impossible_ to listen to with a headset
Thanks for the feedback. I did notice the difference in sound with this video. Did a little experimenting with editing software and I couldn’t hear the error until It was uploaded it to TH-cam. Still learning though. Thanks again. 👍
Nice review. Seiko are arguably at their best with the 5 collection. True to their original values.
Nice comments. And very true. I just wish they’d leave the higher prices for Grand Seiko.

I think that the pressed clasp bracelet can be forgiven on a Seiko 5 but certainly not on anything higher e.g. Prospex.

@@WesWatchRoom Thanks for the tip. I'll di some research. I've got a few fives that would benefit from a bracelet upgrade.

Hey, anyone knows where to get the very First strap that is seen in this video at 0:00?
Thanks for your interest. It’s the ‘Max Tropical Vintage Style FKM Rubber Divers Replacement Watch Strap’ available on Amazon. 👍
Excellent review. Thanks.
Thanks a lot Declan

The lug to lug is smaller than average so the fit may surprise you. 👍
Is the rotor noisy?
Great job very nice watch I’m going to get one

What size wrist do you have?
Hi there. My wrist is 7 inches. 👍
Great Video keep it going! ☺
Cheers my friend! :)
If the date was framed or if there was no date I would have kept mine.
