- In this video we’ll learn about what is Indian ocean dipole i.e. IOD, what are the reasons behind its occurrence, we'll also learn about the three phases of Indian Ocean dipole (neutral, negative and positive phase). We'll learn how IOD affects the monsoon in India.
I am a retired teacher of Geography. Now, with access to the internet, I watch many Visual presentations of topics in the study of Geography. The animation is very much helpful in understanding the phenomenon.
How does it affect southwest monsoon? During summer on land it is low pressure and during positive IOD also it is low pressure on western Indian ocean. When both sides got low pressure how come winds generated there?
I am literally struggling with this bug in my head past 2 days . please 🙏 let me also know the reason, if you got the correct explanation.
For tropical easterly jet , there is a high pressure associated with positive effect on indian monsoon exactly on the same area (north of Madagascar coast ) .both are in contradiction .but i am convinced with tropical easterly jet explanation .but this Indian Ocean dipole is a bit opposite to the conventional logic . Please let me know , if you have found convincing reason .

@@ringbaliyan4644 1. Found the reason .the reason is "there isn't a reason ". Its a recent discovery and only thing what they are confirmed is the pattern corresponding to +ve monsoon when +ve dipole.
