- This video is on southwest monsoon, its formation & mechanism. The southwest monsoon is the reason behind Mumbai rain and brings rains towards the end of summer as the high pressure built in the Indian Ocean pushes the wind masses towards the low pressure formed on Indian landmass.

Not necessarily Kerala. Depending upon where the mascarine high hits the equator,the monsoon currents will bypass Kerala and the north-east India will receive the first rainfall. It all depends upon the intensity of the mascarine high. But,your lectures on meteorology is top class,thank you professor.

This has happened 3rd time in a row now that you uploaded a video that i was looking for.
The strength of the monsoon is directly proportional to the difference between land and sea temperature. That's why El nino affects adversely to Indian monsoon.
