Sadly the people doing the breaks charge a lot more then what the boxes cost. This in turn made finding boxes near impossible and drives the prices through the roof because you have to get them off e bay or the card shop it self jacks the prices up. It really isn't a hobby a kid can get into anymore, every one thinks they will sell the next million dollar card. It used to be pull tabs for kids but now its pull tabs for adults.
You basically said it used to be for the kids…… also back then cards were worth pennys on the dollar. Well now, many cards arent worth pennys anymore lol. Well some of the sets are which is “for the kids” but now adays these kids are smart and go after the premium stuff so who’s fault is that?
Breaks are terrible for the hobby lol. Breakers are the ones driving prices sky high on the secondary market. Never participated in a break and never will. Better off playing lottery scratch tickets.
I was a card collector for 20 years, what a waste of money!😂 I was a stupid kid i didn't know any better. My financial advisor got a big laugh out of it when I told him what i used to do. Have fun guys✌
The only safe card investments are of hall of famers, pre-1970 in really good condition. No crease, sharp corners and good centering. I myself would rather have an autographed jersey or bat then some shiny card with a piece of the guys underwear and an autograph. When people figure this out, the market for modern cards will be doomed. For the prices they are paying for these cards, most of these athletes would sell you 1000 autos or more and personally come to your home to do it
Chuck Schilken, the only way J.J. Watt will win a Super Bowl next season is if it is in a Bucs Uniform. For the same reason they won the last Super Bowl, and a lot of the fans who know better are pissed at it.
@@xavierdelgado1023 you pay to get into breaks. Because if you open 1 box that cost 200$ then you only have fun for a few mins. In a break you could have 5-10 boxes with more value and gives you a higher chance of hitting while paying half the price of 1 box. It’s called fractionalizing
@@djscarecrows7702 well the stock market is not the same thing as gambling for starters which should be obvious to anyone who has ever gambled or invested money
Because a break allows you to open multi boxes which gives you a better chance to hit a “case hit” some people collect players or a certain team. You buy your team and you get the best cards for your team instead of opening 1 box for double the price and not hitting 1 card from the team you actually collect. People who get in breaks are smarter than people who buy a box and open it for themselves (doming)
I am new to this. What is a fair rake profit for a breaker to take? 15%

If you think the cards are too expensive, try actually going to the sporting events.
They are charging for the time. Guy said it’s long hours
@@baneinyourface5494 oh bs! its so hard and such long hours...BS!

The secondary market is so disgusting they buy a 20$ box from target and sell it for 900 a box
Why do people pay someone to open packs thsts the fun opening up the pack
Was this just a joke or you really think they can buy a box for $20 and sell for $900?!?
