Fair point, but here's a counterpoint: Chicken breasts were $1.99/lb here and now they are $4.99/lb. We know all major retailers are posting record profits every year under the guise of it just being general inflation. Why should we expect trading cards to be any difference?
Yup. Gas has doubled, Big Macs have gone up 25% since then, groceries are a lot more expensive. We could get into the reasons why but just suffice to say that having an expensive hobby can be expensive. Lots things to do that don’t cost anything…most of them include walking around 😂.
@@ToastyChance754 how much more are production costs? How much more are graphic designer salaries? Printing press / manufacturing salaries? How much did paper prices go up? Not justifying 125% price increase, just playing devils advocate
In capitalism, businesses are usually allowed to charge whatever the market will bear. Why should Topps and Panini be held to a different standard? They're not selling essential items like food and housing, so there's no concern about price gouging harming people.

honestly not sure why you keep paying premiums to hobby shops for retail product. These megas have been on the target website for preorder for months. Hobby shops selling retail at a markup is beyond scummy honestly.

Same ole Bowman megas, higher priced. Not worth it really. Better off buying singles. I bought some just to sit on and have a few suckers buy em from me in a couple of years when they go up to 150 a box like they always do.
