    Hi Suzi! I love my iPhone and I equally love my GoPro 11. Both have important uses and different experiences for the user, so I like to plan to vid with my GoPro and often use my iPhone for impromptu photos or vids. Filming with the GoPro is more enjoyable with all the accessories out there to enhance the experience and I couldn't see myself being without one or the other devices. Love watching your channel by the way, keep doing what you do! x

    I use both of them in same fashion as you do. My GoPro is used whenever I don’t want to put the iPhone in any danger, or when I’m taking slow motion, hyper-lapses, long form video, stabilization in 4k or I want to hold something thats lighter and more compact. Despite the higher resolution of the GoPro I generally prefer the video quality of the iPhone. And the photos are much better from the iPhone. So I agree with you, I like to use both cameras in my workflow. Great video and thanks for sharing.

    Good thorough comparison. I now have an iPhone 14 Pro and there is one feature that no dedicated camera has (as far as I know, at least) - The ability to record 10-bit, 4K 60p Dolby Vision (or HDR) video straight out of camera with no processing in post. After reading up as to why, smartphones have the advantage of the stronger computing power which can process 10-bit HDR video at higher frame rates. This is groundbreaking and it's interesting that I haven't seen this covered in any TH-cam review video. True, it does require an HDR-ready display to properly view the footage and that Facebook does not support HDR or 60p video unlike TH-cam.

    Hi Suzi, I don't have iphone 14Pro, but XS. I'm using x2 camera for photos and it's enough for me and Gopro 10 for vlogging.
    I've see that video on GoPro is more blurring, right, than on iPhone? I'm recording in 4k, but image on iPhone looks more clear/better? What do you think?
    As I know Saramonic mics have charging connector instead of DJI and it be more convinient if you stream online on TH-cam for example. You can charge the phone same time from powerbank during a stream.
    I think Iphone is more bulky for activities and you always should think that you may lost 1000$ if it drops from the gimbal on the ground. On the Gopro I make some short shots and put into a pocket and no need to worry about a screen scratches with keys even iPhone has protection screen. In the night time Inkee Falcon is enough.
    I think both can be used, but for me is Gopro is more comfortable. Thank you

    Nice Vid.
    GoPro reliability is the one thing everyone should take into account. They are such unreliable POS' sometimes. I've used the GoPro Hero 7 Black and currently use the Hero 9 Black for my vlogs, but I'm now switching over to iPhone 14 Pro, I've just had all I can take with the GPs.
    I'm hoping to sell the GP and get the Osmo Action 3. I've just gotten fed up with the GP issues. Freezing, corrupted files, unexpected recording stops, image glitches, battery drains while not using, camera turning on while not using and with voice controls deactivated, camera turning on while charging at random. I've had all of this with my GPs.

      Fair point about GoPro. The Hero 11 is the first one for us that hasn’t had reliability issues, which is why I didn’t mention it. But it was a problem for the Hero 7-10.

    Thanks for the great comparison and hard work. I can't mentally justify paying that much +$1000 for a phone! GoPro is the way to go and I have been using my GoPro 10 with success so far. Also, sad that I don't have the "star trails" or "vehicle trails" in GoPro 10. Do you know if those are available with a software update? I haven't done an update in a while.
    Side question, do you think you'd ever go back to Samsung especially how the Galaxy S22 and S23 Ultra cameras are improved taking 100x photos (clear moon and stars) plus fantastic night mode?

    Hi , just recently came across your Channel and watched few of the videos for GoPro. Currently I am extremely confused. I am from India where IPhone's pro or pro max series can get really expensive. If I explain you my situation I have started travel channel and need to upgrade the camera as I was shooting with basic Android phone cam which was my primary phone it's old as well. Sooner or later I would need to buy a phone too so what will you suggest going with gopro or buying iPhone ( awaiting 15 series). I like how convenient GoPro can be since I have experience with shooting from phone and being primary phone device sometimes it can get little tricky with managing battery levels for other purposes apart from shooting videos.

    Nice review. It's a bit difficult to compare the two because the gopro really isn't targetted at vlogging at all but specifically as action camera (to mount on your bike or doing sports etc.). I notice a lot of compression artifacts on the gopro footage, maybe there's a setting to change that?

    • @Gemini_Connect
      @Gemini_Connect  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      GoPro has been shifting to appeal to vloggers ever since the Media Mod was introduced for the Hero 8. They even sell a Creator Kit aimed 100% at vloggers, so I think it’s fair to compare them to vlogging cameras. I do think TH-cam compression messed with the quality a bit, which is unfortunate. It looked really good on my computer!

    • @jeni719
      @jeni719 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The resolution of the GoPro sensor, does not necessarily give a better image than the iPhone, you have to consider the lens quality. The iPhones pro series essentially have 3 prime lenses that deliver much better detail than the GoPro's. Most professional photographers do not like the video out of the GoPro, because it is has less detail. GoPro are best when the camera is moving, such as hiking, biking, and certainly any type of water sport. The other advantage of the iPhone is that the camera can be upgraded features with each software update. I have them both and I like them both!!

    • @HeroesJourneyHub

I feel like the gopro will be my go to since it's always in a stable position with controlled lighting, and I want the best video recording quality... and I think it's looks better asthetically since everybody has an iphone in their pocket, but when you see a table and go pro on the booth, it appears more professional I think.

Buy the newer remote mic from DJI or from Rode. And buy separely the wider lens if you wish, if uou have short arms for example. My hero 10 looks horrible. Tried all different combinations of settings. TH-cam is full of videos trying to fix people's terrible footage. Does anyone have even halfway decent video? Mine flickers, looks like 640 x 480. Dark in the slightest shadow. Very grainy and jumpy. Either black or totally blown out white footage. The cheapest phone camera looks 100x better. This looks like a webcam from 1998 or something

    • @Gemini_Connect
      @Gemini_Connect  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a settings guide in this channel. If your footage has flicker, you’re likely shooting where there are LED lights in the environment- it’s best to avoid shooting there. And if it’s dark, grainy, and jumpy, you probably don’t have enough ambient light. GoPros are best used in bright daylight in open outdoor discrete.

      And i've tried the camera around the lot of different environments. I never had any LED lights. At all. The only time the camera seemed to work just ok was when I had really good lighting that I didn't move the camera at all. But it's supposed to be an action camera. I've heard good things about gopros and I was expecting to have clear video, but it looks worse than an old webcam. Or the worst cell phone that you can imagine from 20 years ago. I don't know anyone that has a GoPro to compare it to. I wish I could have someone look at this thing.
