    That f4.0 aperture is necessary in large sensor cameras. When we record video in bright daylight, even with the lowest ISO, the shutter speed should be 1/800 to 1/3000 to get correct exposure. Videos with that high shutter speed looks jittery especially if you're filming in 24/30fps. At f4, the shutter speed can be lower, creating slight motion blur that looks natural.

    Smaller aperture is useful when you want to take a picture of something that is close and you want everything to be in focus: two people standing one in from of other, food, documents...
    It is also useful when you are recording 24/30 fps video in sunlight because it will allow longer shutter speeds which will make video less choppy.

The only reason 24p feels "jittery" is because when phone cameras have a f-stop value that is fixed super wide open, they have to take down the shutter speed to compensate which causes an unsettling lack of motion blur. Having a lense at f4 would likely help with some of that I feel.

In my case, I set it to 6% to get more emergency backup. You can directly enter hibernation mode even if you have 100% battery, providing you need more backup from your phone. I think the reason why the charging is slower on this one ("slower" but still leagues faster then Samsung or Apple's fastest which isn't included). Is that they finally added USB 3.x support. Technically the USB standard doesn't support 210 Watts of power, so I think a lot of it might be them changing pinout.
    But now they finally have their first phone with USB 3.X which at least for me is a big deal, as I use USB C to HDMI cables regularly, and you can use all in one docs and Samsung dex like features in the future. But all of these things require USB 3.X speeds. That's an addition to the obviously much faster transfers, it was one of the few things they were missing. So I hope they keep it going and don't return to 2.0. So people like me can plug their phone into TVs.

    • @lukewt456

      Xiaomi finally supporting the features the USB 3.x "phone standard" brings is a game changer, one which could make my next main phone a Xiaomi-brand one. Having the ability to do what I want to on my phone is a necessity.
      And this is coming from one that likes the brand's phones, and have used a few from the different models and sub-brands it has.

    • @PolyAndroidBenzene
      @PolyAndroidBenzene ปีที่แล้ว +9

      No, because there are other Chinese phone have 120W charging and USB 3.X support, the reason xiaomi went 90W for this phone is because of the energy density. The faster you can charge your phone, the lower energy density your battery get, because of the 4 camera system 13 ultra have, there is very little place left for battery, hence 90W with higher energy density.

    Hey @mrwhosetheboss! I have a suggestion for the comparison videos. I think it would be a better comparison if you weighted the categories. For example, audio is probably much less important than performance and camera to most people. So audio could be worth 5 points while the other ones would be worth 20 points or something like that. I think this would make the final score a lot more indicative of the user experience.

    • @jackelbee
      @jackelbee ปีที่แล้ว +8

      weighting is mainly subjective.. for some it's imp like audio.. for some it's not very important.. like for me.. audio doesn't matter much.. so it would not be very fair.. in the last he mentions about his personal choice signifying he can actually rate it like this but he chooses not to make the comparison more organic and orginal for the viewers as it's their final choice to buy which one they like

      @@TamasKiss-yk4st bark like that when apple and samsung start providing the charger for free on request if not in the box. Otherwise shut your mouth and keep your opinion in your backhole.
      Also try to find out how much a 90 or 210 watt charger costs. You might lose your oxygen. And yes I will keep and use 30 chargers in my lifetime because i will live for 80 years. Not everyone changes phones like clothes. Ask how much apple is ecofriendly when they purposefully stop you from repairing your phone. You cannot even change the front camera ffs without destroying the functionality. Most of the iphone 8s are garbages now just because their home button is damaged. Macbook hinge sensor is harcoded with motherboard and cannot be fixed.
      Does any of this rings the bell?? Don't bark without knowledge.

      @@TamasKiss-yk4st lmao, imagine actually supporting the greedy tech giants. the only reason they no longer put charging bricks in the box is because they know people will go out and buy their extremely expensive official ones. I know absolutely no one who would throw a charging brick in the bin, even if it was broken, and at the same time not supplying a charging brick is worse, because people buy the chargers separately. This in turn means there is more waste from packaging and the instruction manuals.
