Oh god, please, PLEASE don’t let Paul throw all the old R hardware in the dumpster yet! Such a good series guys!! I honestly think the MK&/7.5 Golf R's exterior and interior style is so much better than the RS3's exterior and interior. Many people don't like the look of Golf's, and I respect their opinion. I have always thought they looked good, but the MK7/7.5's have some really good exterior lines. I own a MK7 GTI and after many years of ownership, I still come across lines that I have neve noticed, and that make the exterior what it is. The interiors are also so good. Very driver focused, perfectly ergonomic, and have all the tech any car needs. This DAZA swap is going to be so rad and I cant wat to see the final product and see your smiling faces.

Also, was curious if you have seen the Mighty Car Mods series with the VW Up conversion they’ve been doing. Awesome! So cool to see all the real work that goes into a swap! Great content guys! I took a few screenshots of that sweet motor and trans as they came out of the R! 😊!
I hate VW/Audis. I don't just not care for them, I legitimately hate them. And yet I love your channel. The chemistry, the how-to stuff, all of it. It makes me wish you were into JDM stuff. It also has me almost tempted to get a Golf R of my own. But man...I can't get past the special tools for everything and massively expensive one-time use bolts on everything. Still though...tempting. Great work guys.
Wow ! amazing 😎 Looking forward for Episode 3, specially I want to see the process of painting the Golf R, fitting the interior and (hopefully) some dyno testing.
There is a guy here in Brasil, named Diego Faustino. He will attempt to do the very same swap you guys did. Also, he has a channel on YT too. But his Nardo RS3, bought off a site unseen action, is in really bad shape. I'm already wishing good luck for him and his team... They gonna need a bit more than sheer luck to accomplish the DAZA swap !
I wonder if the A/C lines are "concentric" because they run quite close to the back of the engine/turbo, so the "outer low side" insulates/cools the "inner high side" to reduce excess heat/pressure. Pretty clever if that's the case.
I keep a extra long axle bolt in my box to beat the piss out of those stubborn axles. Also just brake those tabs for the intercooler and use a T30 in the middle like the older vehicles.
Thanks for showing both cars side by side during this build. Question for you, why not upgrade the engine mounts to something other than OEM along with upgrade fuel lines since you are doing so much work swapping the engines?
Man this is my dreamswap except I want it in my scirocco someday with a 4motion swap, so cool to see it on arguably the most indepth and informative car channel there is
I dream of being able to afford to do this swap in my R. Maybe someday. Super happy I can watch you guys do it, really excited about hearing the result.
Such a great idea. When I raced motorbikes, getting the suspension right shaved off a lot more time than buying more HP. So with that in mind, what’s the weight difference between what you removed and what you installed in the Golf? For bikes, I’d just go to a GMD Comptrak shop and let them work out the geometry, springs and damping. No idea what to do with cars.
I may have defected off VAG products (to a B58!) but I have to say that DAZA swapped Golfs are one of my all-time favorite concepts… although I’d have it in an All-Track personally. Very cool to see. Thanks!
Here in Brazil, @DiegoFaustino68 will do the same swap, however, in a Golf GTI, transferring the suspension, 4x4 system, gearbox and all electronics from the RS3 to the GOLF GTI, anyway, good luck to you

And my next question which may be even weirder. Since the Golf R MK8 and Audi S3 are pretty much the same thing. Could a S3 be converted to a 6spd manual? I spoke to a friend of mine who is a tech at a VW dealership. We looked at the Golf R and S3 console where the automatic shifter is on the S3 and 6spd on the MK8. Although the auto shifter layout looks different in the S3 from the MK8 auto. They are the same dimensions. So he is almost positive no cutting and trimming would be needed.
Would love a daza swap in my 7.5r. But a 2.5l VR6 is tempting, too. Hpa motorsports in Canada has a program with the VR6 clocking in @ 550hp/tq. Both platforms sound amazing 🤩
