TOP ONE COMMENT I'M HYPED TO PIN Persona 5 Tactica is out now on all major platforms! Hit this handy dandy link to learn more! i.try.games/persona-5-tactica/h4xegn
How am I only just getting to know about ‘plucky squire’? This game look’s unbelievable. The 2d comic book style reminds me of ‘Tin Tin’. Really wanna play this game now
No idea, it was in the last couple Nintendo Directs :p It does look great though. It's weird to think it's from the same guy who's been designing Pokemon for the last few gens prior to the current one
It looks like more style than substance, so far, in my opinion. It reminds me of Kenna, which was visually stunning but absolute garbage from a gameplay perspective. Very little to do or think about other than “go to where we tell you and press the button when we say.”
I'm surprised that we got not just one, but two RPGs this year that are based on a paper doodle going around. Have you heard about "RPG Time: The Legend of Wright"?
All Astro Lounge song references: 0:40 Hit the “Road Man” 2:06 “I just wanna see” 2:41 “Come on Come on” 4:07 I just can’t wait to assemble an “All Star” team 5:44 I’m still “diggin your scene” 6:33 it was like coming “Home” 8:17 “Fallen Horses” 9:35 “Who’s There” 10:58 It’s such a “waste” 12:28 “Then the morning comes” 15:17 “I can’t get enough of you baby” 15:26 Sometimes it feels like each is a “satellite” 15:30 Broadcasting cacophonous “radio” static 15:35 “Defeat you” Arlo you freakin genius 😂😂
I’m not a huge gamer but loves Arlo, can someone fill me in here? Is Astro Lounge a video game? And who was the man at the end that Arlo paid tribute to?
@@PunsandPixels I had to look it up, but Astro Lounge was an album by Smash Mouth (who sang that Somebody Once Told Me song). Throughout the video Arlo referenced almost every song on the album, and the guy he dedicated it to at the end was the lead singer, who died last year
Penny's Big Breakaway looks so colorful and original. I'm also looking forward to Princess Peach: Showtime, and the Thousand Year Door Remake. I can already tell it's going to be a great year for games, and I can't wait to see what more awaits.
Princess peach looks decidedly “low information”. It looks brain dead. That makes me sad because I’d love a good Peach game, but I can’t handle brain dead games.
I happened to get Persona 5 Royal on sale earlier this month and immediately fell in love with it. Seriously Arlo, if you like P5 Tactica you owe it to yourself to go back and experience the origins of the Phantom Thieves. That's why I'm super excited for Metaphor ReFantazio coming late next year, it's a brand new Atlus IP made by the same team behind Persona 3, 4 and 5 and oozing with the same flair those games have.
@@AxelWedstar411persona 6 will be out by the end of 2026. In the mean time I’m looking forward to metaphor, SMT 5 apocalypse, and hopefully digital devil saga remasters EDIT: (which were also made by the same director and composer of metaphor as well as SMT: Nocturne)
How is it that Steve Harwell from Smashmouth passed away months ago and I'm just now discovering this fact from an Arlo video?!? I'm absolutely devastated! Astro Lounge was one if my first CDs and I played it on repeat. Got to see them live a few years ago and Steve was taken away in an ambulance mid concert. He had a drinking problem and it looks like it caught up to him. Rest in Peace, you All Star
This is the first I've heard of Plucky Squire, and now I want to know more about it. TYD is on my list as well, and I still hope that Echoes and Corruption get the Prime 1 treatment, but otherwise my 2024 might be all backlog all the time.
Thousand Year Door is on the top of my list so far, I am wondering if they're going to add anything like they did with Mario RPG. Boss rematches? A new secret boss that's even worse than the whole Bonetail quest? They should do something with the Glitz Pit, actually...
It always felt like a waste to me that you could replay the Glitz Pit but it didn't end up doing anything for you. That would be a prime candidate for something even harder than the Pit of 100 Trials since you can rest and heal up in between fights.
Wasn't Mario RPG a 1:1 updated copy with a few bells and whistles attached? I've heckled remasters for being uninspired but jeez Louise was RPG a disappointment. They could've made a hella good sequel, yet what we end up getting was retreaded, safe garbage. Super disappointing.

That Peach game looks very fun. That stage play within a game as the setting really is promising. The frame within a frame is such a fun and useful concept in storytelling.
I’m not seeing it. I love the idea of peach turning into alter egos, but in the NES or SNES era that would mean that the different personas would ah e different abilities that are used to strategically tackle problems or solve puzzles. In this game it looked a little too much like it’s a fashion show more than a gameplay device. She turns into a detective to walk behind big footprints and she turns into a swordsman so she can stab a bad guy standing still and wide open. Thats brain dead gameplay. I feel like this is going to be a Kirby-esque entry level game for small children and “girls”.
As someone who practices YoYo irl, Penny's Big Breakaway is like, my dream game!! And for those who aren't familiar with YoYo, "Breakaway" is an actual term for a specific movement where you get the YoYo's profile spinning parallel to your shoulders, rather than in front of you.
I’m with you on being most hyped for Elden Ring DLC. Elden Ring was an incredible experience from beginning to end. Finding the underground areas was a huge mind blow. There are few devs out there that can give a first playthrough experience like FromSoftware can. I sincerely hope devs take their approach to not holding the players hand.
The wait for Elden Ring DLC is killing me but I know it'll be worth the wait. Fromsoft always delivers. Others I'm looking forward to are Dragon's Dogma 2, Black Myth Wukong, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, and Silksong (if it exists that is)
FromSoft releasing Armored Core 6 after Elden Ring definitely helps with the wait for sure, you know you can trust them which is a rarity sometimes with some devs nowadays.
I finally got around to playing the first Paper Mario game on Nintendo Switch online when I saw that Thousand year Door was getting remastered and I am having an absolute blast playing it.
Omg you are in for such a treat! Thousand Year Door is incredible. It is honestly difficult to put into words how much I love it. I'm jealous that you get to play it for the first time!
Visions of Mana is another one to look out for. The Mana series is one the most unique Square RPGs in this day and age because it cares much more about the world, the atmosphere, and the combat than the story or lore. It doesn't even try to be realistic or serious, it just wants to be charming and whimsical. It's like RPG comfort food.
My most anticipated games of 2024 are The Thousand Year Door remake, Star Wars Outlaws, Flintlock Siege of Dawn, Avowed, Penny’s Big Breakaway, and Plucky’s Squire
Every game I'm looking forward to in no particular order. Penny's Big Breakaway, Pacific Drive, Animal Well, The Plucky Squire, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Persona 3 Reload, Metaphor: Refantazio, Tekken 8, Alone in the Dark, Another Code: Recollection, Ultros, Tormented Souls 2, Mina the Hollower, Post Trauma, Pepper Grinder, Judas, Little Nightmares 3, Sand Land, Rift of the Necrodancer, Revenant Hill, Clock Tower Remaster, Black Myth Wukong, Princess Peach Showtime.
I'm so glad there's at least one other person who completely flipped out when they saw the world of goo 2 trailer. The original was the first game I ever played, and I've been dreaming of this moment for years.
I genuinely cannot wait to play Persona 3 Reload, it’s going to be SO good, the persona series is so good Also Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and TTYD, these 3 games alone could carry the game for me
Excited that you're playing and enjoying P5T. I hope that it maybe gets you to take a crack at Persona 5 Royal, and if you do you may find it up there with some of your other favorites, but always remember to take your time :)
Penny's Big Breakaway looks like the 3D Saturn/DC game from Treasure that we never got. I can't wait. The Plucky Squire also looks incredible. I'm looking forward to anything regarding the Switch's successor. I've had every Nintendo console and most others (barring weird outliers like the 3DO, CDi, Jaguar, etc that were not worth it), and the Switch is the best I've ever owned. It has the best library, imo. Thanks for the video, Arlo. Hope you and yours have rad holidays.
Most hyped game to play by a mile is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth!!! It’s going to be a phenomenal game, the first one has one of my favorite combat system ever, a great story, great characters and is just overall one of my favorite games of all time. Rebirth will be an amazing game and is one of my most anticipated games ever in the past like 10 years
Love the video Arlo, that outro was incredible btw! ⭐️✨I really want Plucky Squire it looks wonderful!! Also I definitely will get Thousand Year Door, I haven’t really played much Paper Mario but it sounds fantastic and I want to experience it sm
Senua hellblade 2, plucky squire, dragons dogma 2, avowed, world of goo 2, animal well, pennys big breakaway, princess peach showtime, paper mario ttyd, elden ring dlc
I'm happy that the Plucky Squire was delayed also. It just goes to show that James Turner learnt a _very_ important lesson when working under The Pokémon Company: TO DELAY YOUR GAMES.
IDK if i have a definitive top 10 games to be hyped for in 2024. There is at least 2 on the top of my head that i am looking forward to picking up day 1.. -- Unicorn Overlord by VanillaWare & Atlus. -- Decapolice by Level 5. I've been wanting a new VW game since 13 sentinels Aegis Rim, and in VW fashion, the visuals for unicorn overlord look fantastic! As for Decapolice, i'm just interested to see Level 5 coming out strong for 2024 as they seem to be finally getting active. What with them announcing a new professor Layton game and whatnot.
I like how Arlo is using a Muppet to represent himself, but he's not using it to be edgy and he just genuinely loves well-made kids games like Nintendo and is super excited for these earnest kid friendly games
There's a few games I'm hyped for like The Thousand Year Door and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but one other one I'm looking forward to that people aren't talking about enough is Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore. It's an indie game inspired by the Zelda CDI games in all their cheesy glory. I'm excited to see a game capture the "so bad that they're good" charm of the CDI cutscenes while also delivering a much more polished and modernized gameplay experience
I don’t really play indie games but penny’s big breakaway hooked me almost instantly. 3d platformers are kinda my jam so that and CornKids are right up my alley!
Obsidian just routinely showing up Bathesda at their own game is one of my favorite modern occurrences in gaming. Used to be a big bathesda fan but now I get way more excited when obsidian is coming out with something new because it's almost always just better by standard.
My most anticipated title of next year is also a DLC, that being Splatoon 3: Side Order, it looks like it's going to be a big shake up to the Splatoon single player formula, much like Octo Expansion was when it came out. I'm super excited, especially with how long it's been cooking.
Love that the first game mentioned is mine too!! TTYD remake is a close second, but I guess since it's just a remake, it makes sense that it's Arlo's second, too
If it wasn’t just a sponsor and if you did really like Persona 5 Tactica, you should really give Persona 3 Reload a shot. The mainline games blow any of the spin-offs out of the water
I'm super hyped for Another Code remake. Loved the first one, never got to play the second one. Breezed through the recent demo. Give it to me now! Professor Layton and the World of Steam. I'm such a fan of the series that I even bought the Katrielle spinoff twice (once for 3DS, once for the Switch), watched her whole anime series and even played through that super weird Layton Brothers game on Android. Getting a new game? In HD? And it's a sequel, not a prequel or spinoff? Yes, please! The new Crazy Taxi game announced at the Game Awards. Again, loved the original, can't wait to play it in HD! Hollow Knight Silksong? If it's even coming in 2024? But it has to, right? They wouldn't want to wait until the next hardware generation is out? Would they? Please tell me that they wouldn't? And last but not least: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. I'm replaying Remake again these days to get ready for part two. And it's so good! I need more! And it's just around the corner! Yeah!
Hey Arlo, are you aware of ANTONBLAST? I know I keep bringing this up, but it still intrigues me how you said you wanted Wario Land in response to WarioWare: Move It!'s announcement, even though you've also said in the past you don't normally care that much about 2D platformers. Pizza Tower is also similar to Wario Land and is fantastic, but ANTONBLAST looks like it'll be... well, a blast! There's also a demo available, so maybe check it out sometime?
I am looking forward to the Luigi's Mansion 2 remake more than any other currently known about 2024 game, with the Mario Vs Donkey Kong remake in a close 2nd place. I don't know why, but they seem to have been forgotten about by most gamers. At least they will get some attention when they release.
1. Metroid Prime 4 (I believe) 2. Metaphor re Fantasio 3. Paper Mario TTYD remake 4. Princess Peach Showtime ... well that's it for new games I'm interested in.
The cat in animal well is from the film House. That probably doesn't bode well for our sanity, but definitively bodes well for the quality of the game.
Wasn't expecting the Smash Mouth call out at the end, made me sad. 😞 That said, lovely video as always, and can't wait to see what the new year brings. Happy holidays all!
Right now, Persona 3 Reload is the game I'm most hyped to play. Persona 3 is already my favorite game, so a remake with modern graphics, cleaner voice acting, and the combat mechanics of the newer games -- It'll probably end up being my favorite game of the year. And it comes out in just a little over a month! Anything that comes after will just be the icing on a cake.
12:58 Well there is one thing that seems compromised - the frame rate seems to be halved compared to the GameCube version, and that might throw some of the attack timings off.
For me, the biggest suprise in recent gaming history is Yakuza: Like a Dragon(Yakuza 7). The change from beat-em up to turn-based RPG is what I needed to get into the serie and Like a Dragon 8 is one of my most anticipated game of 2024! With also, of course, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door!
The game sticking in my head for 2024 is the next Fantasy Life. It’s just such a fun series. I would actually kill for two things: a remake of Tomodachi Life. It was a giant hit on the 3DS and just bonkers. And Pokemon Channel 2. Make it us testing a streaming service and maybe choose between 3 Pokemon buddies. I loved PC and it was just nice. I’m soooo sad I know my computer won’t be able to handle Dragons Dogma 2.
Silksong, Shadow of the Erdtree, and Mina the Hollower are the 3 games I'm most looking forward to playing. Also want Black Myth Wukong, Rise of the Ronin, Stellar Blade, and Dragon's Dogma 2. Oh yeah and that one RPG by the Persona devs, Re Fantazio or something.
My top ten in chronological order is 1: Fantasy Life I the girl who steals time 2: Black Myth Wukong 3: Shiren the wanderer 6 4: Eiyuden chronicles 100 heros 5:Splatoon 3 Side Order 6: Megaton Musashi 7: Death must die 8: Princess Peach Showtime 9: Paper Mario TTYD 10: The Plucky Squire
My most hyped game rn is Metaphor Re: Fantastio. This original project by the creators of Persona 3-5 looks endlessly interesting to me, especially thanks to those phenomenal trailers, so I'm excited to see how it pans out 🙂
Oh, hey, the end credits song went on longer than usual. Been a fan of that one since I started watching the channel. I'd love to hear it go on for even longer. In fact, let me google it... Apparently it's a song called Reloaded Installer #11.
Genuinely love just how well Arlo always blends in the lyrics to these videos that you honestly can’t tell tell where they are if you aren’t searching for it. 😂😂
Gah I really need to get Elden Ring…. It looks so cool. Also I need to know who made your outro music. This version is just as dope as the older one and I’ve always loved it. It always keeps me until the end of the video haha
Speaking of Atlus, I'm so excited for Unicorn Overlord. Vanillaware doesn't miss and it reminds me of Ogre Battle 64 which is easily one of my favorite games of all time.
You should look into other niche genres like colony sim. This is by far the most fun indie genre in my opinion and I didn’t know I’d love it until I actually sat down and played it.

THANK YOU for finally playing more of the outro song. its been driving me nuts i dont know where that lead synth goes. also great vid as always 👍
Dragons dogma 2 is looking like it's gonna be one of the best games next year
11:35 I like how you start talking about your worries for the Peach game right as it starts to look like Mario is Missing!
Senua hellblade 2, plucky squire, dragons dogma 2, avowed, world of goo 2, animal well, pennys big breakaway, princess peach showtime, paper mario ttyd, elden ring dlc
Merry Christmas Arlo!
What are you talking about?
thats just arlo tho?
Uses a Muppet? Arlo just looks like that
Mr incredible says “shut up. Pls stfu”
We like games that breaths what we grow up with. What most people these days call modern retro. Nuthing to do with just kids…..grow up kid.
I cannot wait you for your predictions 2024 video. I hope it will be up running before the end of the year because I enjoy it.
Yes! So hyped for Animal Well, Plucky Squire, Penny’s Big Breakaway too. It should be a great year for indies!
I am definitely hyped for the new Monster Hunter!
That’s not coming out in 2024
I literally think none of Arlo’s games are were on my list. But I wasn’t aware of World of Goo 2. Now THAT could be dope.
My most anticipated title of next year is also a DLC, that being Splatoon 3: Side Order, it looks like it's going to be a big shake up to the Splatoon single player formula, much like Octo Expansion was when it came out. I'm super excited, especially with how long it's been cooking.
Persona 3 Reload when's game of the year 2024 no competition tbh 🔥🤘🏾🖤!!!
The fact that Super Mario RPG is back gives me hope for the future of Mario games. (That and Mario Wonder looks impressive.)
Love that the first game mentioned is mine too!! TTYD remake is a close second, but I guess since it's just a remake, it makes sense that it's Arlo's second, too
I’m so excited to finally play Thousand Year Door!
Of course Elden is the number 1, not surprised, not complaining, I'm mostly looking forward for Paper Mario Remake
If it wasn’t just a sponsor and if you did really like Persona 5 Tactica, you should really give Persona 3 Reload a shot. The mainline games blow any of the spin-offs out of the water
It was definitely just for the sponsor. He doesn’t like jrpgs and has mentioned that many times.
I'm super hyped for
Another Code remake.
Yeah!
Thank you for bringing more attention to world of goo 2 , the plucky square and Penny's.
More of the closing theme tune !!! Yes that was amazing !!!!
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, my number one for next year! 😍
I’m so excited for Earthblade. A metroidvania-like game made by the team behind my favorite indie game? SIGN ME UP
Merry Christmas everyone!
Kinda proving your point with The Plucky Squire is that I haven’t heard of it before this video and now I really want it lol
I am looking forward to the Luigi's Mansion 2 remake more than any other currently known about 2024 game, with the Mario Vs Donkey Kong remake in a close 2nd place. I don't know why, but they seem to have been forgotten about by most gamers. At least they will get some attention when they release.
Well, to be fair even AS they are good games, they probably just aren't as wow as other games in terms of New content and surprises.
1. Metroid Prime 4 (I believe)
2. Metaphor re Fantasio
3. Paper Mario TTYD remake
4. Princess Peach Showtime
... well that's it for new games I'm interested in.
Still wish Arlo would check out Tinykin. Seems like just the thing he'd love.
The cat in animal well is from the film House. That probably doesn't bode well for our sanity, but definitively bodes well for the quality of the game.
Wasn't expecting the Smash Mouth call out at the end, made me sad. 😞
That said, lovely video as always, and can't wait to see what the new year brings. Happy holidays all!
Being a big arlo and smash mouth fan made this video so fun. Catching all the astro lounge references was great
I’m so excited for peach’s game. I have faith that it’s gonna be amazing
RIP Steve, you will be sorely missed.♥
12:58 Well there is one thing that seems compromised - the frame rate seems to be halved compared to the GameCube version, and that might throw some of the attack timings off.
No love for the FF7 Remakes? Damn, that the one game I am looking forward to more than any other
I'm currently most hyped for The Mermaid's Tongue, and for Creeper World IXE.
Tangle Tower was so good. The sequel will make the wait for the new Professor Layton not as bad.
I wasn't even aware world of goo 2 was a thing, but now I'm hyped too.
Wasn’t expecting to tear up at the end of this haha
My top ten in chronological order is
1: Fantasy Life I the girl who steals time
2: Black Myth Wukong
3: Shiren the wanderer 6
4: Eiyuden chronicles 100 heros
5:Splatoon 3 Side Order
6: Megaton Musashi
7: Death must die
8: Princess Peach Showtime
9: Paper Mario TTYD
10: The Plucky Squire
My most hyped game rn is Metaphor Re: Fantastio. This original project by the creators of Persona 3-5 looks endlessly interesting to me, especially thanks to those phenomenal trailers, so I'm excited to see how it pans out 🙂
Great Stuff, as always!
I feel like this is the first time in awhile we’ve heard the Arlo theme for more than 10 seconds at the end of the video
Oh, hey, the end credits song went on longer than usual. Been a fan of that one since I started watching the channel. I'd love to hear it go on for even longer. In fact, let me google it...
Apparently it's a song called Reloaded Installer #11.
I am hyped to watch this
I thought you were Dreamcastguy for a sec lol.
The artsyle for thay penny game is so old school it hurts thats crazy how accurate it is
At the top of my list is kindred fates. I hope it comes out this year it looks incredible.
SOOOO excited for Thousand Year Door
Silksong, Hades 2, Path of Exile 2... Hopes for 2024 are high indeed.
All I’m focused on is FFVII rebirth.
Although Penny’s Big Adventure does look awesome.
“Dunkey you better deliver or else I’m coming for ya” LoL
I only started playing Dragons dogma a couple of days ago, but I've been having a blast with it. Super looking forward to the sequel.
Penny's Big Breakaway finally came out, it's a ton of fun!
"Let's hit the Road man."
Wow Arlo was as obsessed with that album as I was...
Dude, I haven't thought of world of goo for like 20 years until today, thank you 😂
Speaking of Atlus, I'm so excited for Unicorn Overlord.
Give Perp Games a try mate their titles are on the smaller AA scale fun size
@@bamban_garcia5562 Oh, what games? Are they on Steam?
Earrhblade is also 2024!
Celeste is one my favorite games ever and I can’t wait to experience what EXOK has been working on.
It's nice to finally see you get the puppet out again.
Arlo mentioning Dragon's Dogma makes me so happy!
