It's crazy that in-between Pikmin 3 and Pikmin 4, Nintendo was able to release splatoon 1, 2 and 3.

Ok that's just depressing. I mean, I'm sure Splatoon is great. But it just worries me that more and more focus will be put on multiplayer games instead of single player ones

This is a fact that I think about way too often
I’m so happy miyamoto decided to announce pikmin 4 himself instead of letting it just randomly show up in the direct. This shows to me that it will be a very important project to him and that he will put a lot of care into it, which it fully deserves. I’ve been waiting with arlo for the full 10 years, every year thinking “will pikmin 4 finally become a reality?”. To finally see it as a real thing is truly special for us pikmin fans. I had a slight concern for a bit that it might turn out under whelming like a lot of other switch games, but to see miyamoto announce it in such a grand fashion makes me fully believe that it will be nothing short of a masterpiece like the rest in the series
Miyamoto is kinda like that dad who says they don't have a favourite, but clearly takes on of his kids on all the trips and gets all the attention. I'm just glad it was Pikmin

Miyamoto being so involved actually has me feeling more worried then relieved, I don't want a story-free gimmick, I just want a solid pikmin game.
@@Vrikrar whose to say 2022 miyamoto is the same as 2010 sticker star miyamoto. Sure you could make the same defense about every human being, but if we're talking specifically about Miyamotos artistic vision, his ideals for what a mario game can and cant be are constantly changing. The same guy who played it safe for for like 8 years with New super mario bros games ended up greenlighting mario odyssey and a Hollywood movie. And Pikmin is a completely different territory. From what we've seen you could assume the same things you like about Pikmin are what Miyamoto likes.

Silksong & Legends of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom got me so excited for 2023. Been waiting SO LONG for both. For me, the only thing that could get me even more excited is a Mario Odyssey 2 announcement lol

I'm mostly waiting for Hades II, Silksong, Tears of the Kingdom, Octopath Traveler II, Street Fighter 6, Mina the Hollower and Fraymakers. Anything else will be a pleasant surprise
Hades 2 isn't 100% confirmed for next year but I can't wait for it either

I knew the throughline song immediately, and was delighted by every reference. The Zelda one was especially clever.

I remember watching it as a kid. No dialogue, just music. Watching a Kid and his Snowman spend an entire Christmas night just messing about and exploring. And the ending. . . MAN the ending. Good stuff, do recommend 👍

I would say that Silksong tops my list, but everyone knows that next year isn't 2050, so it isn't quite time. That said, I'm really looking forward to Mina. To other people in this section, couple relishing the upcoming year with reliving the previous by sharing your favorite 2022 game below. As for me, Shadows Over Loathing by Assymetric Games takes the cake; Brilliant story, lovely slapstick humor, and an astounding soundtrack make it my game of the year.

As of right now Black Myth Wukong is still listed to release in 2023 and never in my life have I been more hyped for another game. Journey to the West is one of my favorite novels and I'm very excited to see if the game is as good as it looks
Really excited for Final Fantasy XVI. FF14 is absolutely incredible, so when I heard the same team was making a regular final fantasy I was so unbelievably hyped lol.
Arlo literally cried tears of joy at the Pikmin 4 announcement. Is it any surprise it's #1 on the hype list?
I do hope that VR doesn't die; It has so much potential for games, especially games like Resident Evil in general, Village just being one of the best examples. The longer it's studied, the better it's gonna get, and hopefully by that point I'll be able to afford a headset!

Oh for sure, but with as much influence as a company that Meta has had over the years that could be potentially disastrous for the general image of how worth it it would be to continue development, y'know?
I’m very excited for Hades II, Pikmin 4, TotK, and Earthblade. Earthblade is honestly one of my most anticipated games in years. Celeste is my favorite game of all time, and to see its developers making a metroidvania? What a prospect!

Baldur’s Gate 3 is without a doubt my most hype game of 2023. As a massive fan of DnD, it looks like an incredible realization of the game I love so much. I’m also really excited for Tears of the Kingdom and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, if it ends up arriving within 2023.

Also very hype for Fire Emblem Engage, Silksong and Sea of Stars
Ravenlok is absolutely one of my most anticipated ones, I love the style. It looks like something straight out of my childhood imagination with a voxel coat of paint, and I am SO excited. Sea of Stars is up there, too.
This game also clearly stoud out during the Microsoft conference when it was shown, immediately felt like something special.

Happy to see RE8 VR and RE4 Remake on your list, I agree. And don’t worry about the dialogue in RE4. I’ve heard the “bingo” line is still in the game.
And Leon says “you can bill me for the damages later” after shooting a lamp onto a cow, setting it on fire, sending it charging into ganados and damaging the structure of the barn. The cheesiness is still there.
The three that I am most hyped for are Tears of the Kingdom, Silksong, and Risk of Rain Returns! There are probably more that I'll be getting and loving, and maybe some surprises(I will never stop hoping for Metroid Prime 4) but of the games that I am confident about coming out, those three are going to be awesome!

2023 is looking to be a great year for games. I’m really excited for Hogwarts Legacy, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Wo Long Fallen Dynasty, RE4 remake, Dead space remake, and most of all, Tears of the Kingdom

My fear with Starfield is that it'll be EXACTLY as buggy and unfinished as all other Bethesda open world RPGs have always been at launch. If Cyberpunk taught us anything it's that gamers are WAY less forgiving of a rough launch than they used to be. Cyberpunk was in no worse shape than Skyrim was at 1.0, but the blowback was so much more INTENSE.
Octopath 2 I'm currently ridiculously hyped for.

Not confirmed for 2023, but the HD2D remake of Dragon Quest III is my most anticipated game.
If I had a nickel for every time Arlo made a top 10 video where he starts quoting Smash Mouth for no reason, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
Gotta say, I don't play through nearly enough games besidesthe big releases, but I'm really excited for Sea of Stars! It looks absolutely gorgeous and I'm really looking forward to the music, since Chrono Trigger has my favorite ost of all time and they have the same composer.

I cannot wait for Replaced. It looks like the most beautiful game... ever? The world seems interesting and the combat appears to be translating the Arkham games' system into 2D which is intriguing to say the least. Whatever it ends up being, it's going to be one of a kind.

It was big in the States as well, just not as big as overseas, apparently. I'm almost 42 and I remember it, but Frosty the Snowman was always bigger over here.

I am obviously looking forward to Tears or the Kingdom and Fire Emblem Engage, another Switch exclusive I am looking forward to is Master Detective Archives: Rain Code, it looks different from that type of genre and looks good.

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line is definitely one of my most anticipated. I never realized how much I missed that series until now
Hogwarts Legacy, just the sheer amount of love the developers seems to have for the setting makes me hype to live out my own Harry Potter adventure.

about half of the last 10 games you mentioned might do it for me. animal well, ah, basically every additional descriptor you added per the games description made me more excited so I need to know more, frog game, sea of stars, and again, mina the hollower, like I loved shovel knight so the same studio making a game based on d zelda gameplay sounds great.
Hogwarts Legacy. This is the most hype I've ever had for a videogame. I've already pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition, and I can't wait to dive into J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World.
Zelda and Pikmin are high up there, too.

Great recommendation at the start. I’m British and it’s something we watch every year at Christmas
2023. The year of Pikmin 4, Zelda, a new Guardians movie, I’m going back to Orlando and can finally ride Velocicoaster. It’s all falling into place.
My most anticipated games for 2023 are Fire Emblem Engage, Hogwart's Legacy, Octopath 2, Tears of the Kingdom and FFXVI
For me, it's just Tears of the Kingdom and FF16. I was interested in Fire Emblem Engage, but then they announced a bunch of Day-1 DLC that reeked of having been removed from the base game to be sold for extra, and I really don't want to support a blatant anti-consumer decision.
EDIT: Oh, wait! I forgot the Mega Man Battle Network Collection! I've been looking forward to that for a while.
The biggest thing I am looking forward to with Tears of the Kingdom is seeing Hyrule hopefully partially rebuilt and beginning to heal. (At least before everything gets crazy again)
I don't think Aonuma really ever said that TotK would rival MM in terms of "darknesss", only that Totk would be a darker sequel to BotW, like MM was to OoT.

2. Risk of Rain Returns (remake/reimagining of Risk of Rain 1)
1. Risk of Rain 2: Survivors of the Void expansion console release (which hit PC almost a year ago lol, good DLC but I can’t play it with my friends on PC)
I just watched the Muppets Christmas Carol and realized that Gonzo saying "Who did NOT die" reminds me of Arlo, the movie is done, I open TH-cam and BAM, new Arlo video
