What's with the hate damn. You're doing great with the long-form videos like your other content. I prefer a more detailed review like this. It felt like an ode to the art of video games. Considering all aspects like gameplay, level design, and narrative. These people should stick to Tiktok and YT shorts.
I played 15 incredible games this year. Several were 10/10, and a few 9/10. I’ve been gaming every single day since the 80s and this has been one of the best years in gaming ever.
@@Enigmalake RE4 remake, Dead Space remake, Wo Long, Hogwarts Legacy, Tears of the Kingdom, FFXVI, Armored Core VI, Lies of P, Lords of the Fallen (2023), Octopath Traveler 2, Sea of Stars, Spider-Man 2, Alan Wake 2, Cocoon, Jedi Survivor, Baldur’s Gate 3. All fantastic games and now it’s 16 games. Just finishing up Octopath Traveler 2 this week. 10/10
Larian kept their approach to interactivity not even since original sin 1 but actually since the very first divinity (maybe even earlier, I didn't play any of their games before 2002) and it finally payed off in the biggest way possible, it's just the most unique and the most immersive that CRPG can be made in my opinion, bar none
Exactly, that immersive system driven design is so key I really hope a ton of rpg studios just start stealing it honestly lol, really hard to pull off though takes so many talented people
If you've played through Disco and still don't care for it, I doubt anything will change your mind. I loved it for the voice acting, humor and writing. The premise of conflicting personality traits as the main characters of the game is just very novel and I wanted to hear everything they had to chime in with.
Ya I totally get this especially the conflicting personality and skill system is super interesting I love the idea on paper for sure and even in game it’s cool, if anything I wish I loved it but sometimes something just doesn’t click for some people I guess, thank you for watching!
I've heard it described as "the perfect hangover game", so maybe it requires the right mood. It took me forever to get around to it in my backlog, just like mooncrash.@@FranklyGaming
You have to be a certain type of person, with certain emotions and life events, to resonate with Disco Elysium. It's an hymn to the inherent strenght of living and persevering, especially when you're more sensible than others to the blows life can throw at you or how trivial said life can get.
The lead writer, Jonas Kyratzes, also worked on the game Clash: Artifacts of Chaos which released early this year. It's not as philosophy-oriented as The Talos Principle and of different gameplay style-- and world style too, as it's set in a kind of bizarre, absurd prehistory where humans are rare and the main inhabitants are sapient monsters of all kinds. In any case, Clash: AoC's story is quite intimate, mainly about the personal journey of a martial arts hermit who temporarily takes a boy under his wing to protect him from persecution by mercenaries. There's good moments and writing, solid gameplay, *fantastic* art and music. Very much recommend looking into that one.
BG3 - I just completed a side quest by accident. I wont go into detail but I was playing with a controller on PC. When you press the left stick L3 in you can move your cursor around to look around the environment. I happened to notice what looked like a birds nest on the roof of a large building. I took two characters up there...one that had the "speak to animals"spell. And sure enough it completed a quest I had started but was not actively trying to complete. I found a torso of a clown..only to later find out I will need to find the REST of this clown for someone....things like this are what make BG3 so good.
loved this video! as someone who mostly plays stealth + horror games I hadn’t played much of the games you talked about and it was nice seeing your review of everything before trying them out (specifically bg3 id love to get into haha)
Im so glad watching this that someone else feels the same way about Disco Elysium. Its not a bad game but man its such an almost pretentious game to me. Like its really well written with a lot to say but all of that just lands flat when most of the dialog feels like you are in a room with a bunch of people saying a ton of really big words that dont always make sense.
Another great video! Enjoy your take on gaming and the experience it provides. Keep it going! Looking forward to more from your channel! You and your team deserve the recognition!
Thank you very much! Just me right now and a great guy I hired for the clip and TikTok channel, eventually will grow the business out more appreciate the support!
@FranklyGaming keep it up, brother! You will make it I have no doubt. Your content is premium and keeps getting better and better. The Gollum joke got me too. Touché!
Is quite interesting realizing that taste among game critics&reviwers can vary so much. I also noticed that the preferences of some may hint about your affinity of a particular game, regardless of scores. On the other hand, though, sometimes it makes me to wish I had a "personality" that'd make certain titles or genres more enjoyable or yielding to me.
I know it didnt come out this year but my game of the uear is inscryption, that game blew me and my little brother out of our shoes, easy runner up was tunic
Started CP2077 a week and a half ago, on its way to my favourites and Phantom Liberty is excellent. Going for 100%. Only other 2023 gaming content I have played is Risk of Rain Returns which is a great roguelite. Can't wait to try Baldur's Gate 3 one day.
You not liking disco elysium kind of blew my mind. I love the game and I love your videos. I find we share similar taste in games and like the same themes so I didn't see that coming. You should try it again if you have a change of mindset. I think it's a must play for an rpg enjoyer. Hope you'll like it someday!
I know same for me I was like how am I not liking this 😂 should be a home run for me. It might just be a game I come back too eventually and fall in love with
2077 feels more real than ever since the advent of Chat GPT. The idea of an AI taking over a taxi company and having an identity crisis seems about right.
Cyberpunk was able to make a comeback, because even though it released as a buggy mess had a solid foundation and great writing. Unfortunately, Starfield’s writing is pretty bad and I’m sick of the excuse that Bethesda games are not supposed to have good writing I want my RPG to have good writing it’s just so disjointed definitely my biggest disappointment this year too.
You just got another sub from me. Your voice and style remind me of Razbuten, and I mean that as a compliment. Keep up the great work! And happy holidays, whatever you celebrate!
Thank you for mentioning the over serialization of BG3. I saw an article which stated that the game's success showed that people wanted more of that, but even if you liked that stuff it was never a big part of the game or story and it was also not done to the same standard as the rest of the game. Regardless, I don't think that it was needed at all
Why in the crap does this video not have more views. This is high quality stuff my dude! Really awesome content, I hope your channel blows up for your sake but you don’t change the content in a negative way.
for me, one of the scene that sold definitly disco elyseum as a masterpiece was the swing scene at the midle of the game. You seat with somoene who start to become a friend , I décided i kinda wanted to impress him by doing my best... You wait for a car to be accessible as the frost arround it is melting... A very quiet and melancolic atmosphere in instaled... you exchange few words... I was totaly absorbed in the now.... *big spoiler* then the frost recead enough to see the number plate. ... a numberplate you know as the player, as it's a very important sidequest for you're character. and Kim, your companion, know also verywell this numberplate... and i was starting to realise exactly as the same time as my character and kim what car it was. you're character is horrified. kim is as empathic as ever... and god i had one of the biggest laugh i ever had in my gaming experience, i couldn't stop before at least 2 minute of ininterupted laugh. but i'm pretty sure i also felt the distress of the hero discovering it was his car that he lost after being hammered. The game take itself seriously, a lot... but also know that he take itself seriously and use that to subvert your expectation, as would someone using dry humour very well. but i think it can be a dangerous bet, because if somoene start to be annoyed by the game... this kind of humour has far less chance to hit.
Redfall seemed like it could have been really good, but it was so boring to play. I forced myself to play a couple hours and had to question why I was doing it when I had plenty of other things to play. Remnant on the other hand, I had no interest when it came out, but after I tried the first one, the series has become one of my most favorite games ever.
This was an excellent video. Well thought out, well spoken, informative, actually thought provoking, and very enjoyable. Thank you. I only bought 1 game this year because I am a patient gamer, and it was Street Fighter 6. It was an excellent decision considering how Mortal Kombat 1 ended up being kind of meh, and Starfield which is what I originally wanted ended up being such hot garbage compared to its true potential, or what it seemed like it was going to be in the trailers. Street Fighter 6 is probably one of the best fighting games I ever played. It is just so accessible and polished that it's probably the first fighting game that anyone can jump into, even thouse who would not normally be intersexed in the genre. Quantum Break was probably the most enjoyable game I played this year that was on my wishlist for a while now. What was really interesting about it was how the studio incorporated a TV show directly into the game. I've never seen that before and that made it really refreshing, berceuse it was different and something that I didn't expect when the seamless transition happened. Plus seeing the late Lane Reddick (from Fringe and John Wick), and the actor who played Littlefinger in GOT was a welcome surprise. From everything I've seen and heard about Starfilend that would have probably been my biggest dissapointment if I did pick it up, and I am glad I didn't,. It's just a shame. I've been a fan of Bethesda games ever since the original; Daggerfall and original Elder Scrolls. I'm hoping to pick up Baldur's Gate 3, Allan Wake 2, and Remnant 2 sometime next year. This was overall a great year, imho only tarnished by Bethesda's and Arkane's missteps. Anyhow, thaws for the great video!
to the cyberpunk point, nah it got the flack it deserved, just cause you like 1 PART of a game doesn't mean the actual problems are irrelevant, thats how you get the mediocrity of the current industry its LUCKY to of fixed itself
18:35 was that on purpose the starborn double up? Because you are talking about the repetitiveness of the multidimensions… if yes awesome. If no… also awesome. lol thanks for a great video.
Great video! I was curious about Dyson Sphere so thanks a million for that review - I need a break from Baldur's Gate 3 as there are only so many ways I can romance Shadowheart and Karlach....
Just started watching you man and I like your content. Your voice is calming and I need to be calm now given that I just started playing Subnautica and I'm genuinely afraid. I play lots of horror games and this non horror one actually has me afraid. So I'm going to listen to this while I play to calm my nerves haha....
The moment I first saw you gush about Cyberpunk and how you still liked it even before the fixes, as well as your love for Mass Effect, and now how you said you found Disco Elysium boring convinced me that you are the video game content creator that I share my tastes with the most. Hope you explore more niche and less popular games so I can have someone discover non-mainstream titles for me.
🎮 2023 Games Overview 🎮 🌟 RPG Masterpieces 🌟 🗡 Baldur's Gate 3: Deep RPG mechanics, high production values. Each category showcases the diverse gaming landscape of 2023: innovation, storytelling, gameplay mechanics, and player experiences.
Finally someone who also have similar thoughts about disco elysium as me. The philosophy lover in me will hopefully love the talos principle series. Loved hifi rush btw.
100% love your channel. Remnant II is next on my list after Cyberpunk... Also, I keep hearing good things about the story in Lies of P (though it is a souls-like, which are not known for their stories).... wanting to give that a try as well. The main character reminds me of the lead in Dune 2021 (Timothée Chalamet), even down to his mannerisms and gestures. Imitation is flattery I guess.
I was looking forward to rogue trader since it was announced. Unfortunately since I found out it wasn't voice acted I won't be getting it. I struggle to read for long periods of time, so if a game has too much reading I know I won't get far in it. While I don't want ai to replace voice actors it would be nice if text reading could also be treated as an accessibility setting and give the option in the menu to turn on text reading. Voice actors are going to be much better at performing the lines but to have even a standard voice reading the text would be nice.
I bought Disco Elysium with the thought in my mind that I might not like it but there was just so much praise around it...I haven't played yet but I'm afraid I might have similar impressions. Played Cyberpunk finaly after sitting in my library for three years and it's fantastic. I was waiting patiently for the game to get fixed and it payed off.
Disco Elysium really demands patience. Listening to every voiced line, being curious instead of just focusing on the main missions. Don't play if you're in a rush to finish it.
Beth fail to show slight differences in each universe is even more of a joke considering Blade Runner game... I bet most Starfield player were not even born in 1997 so they got no idea what this game is, but in 1997 this game had slight randomizations, few dozen different little things I think, so when you played in second or third time not everything was the same, so slight changes to NPCs, your choices and in the end you had something like 10 or so endings... and it was 1997. Witcher 3 did it as well and did it pretty good, again slight differences, pseudo choices... like when you meet with Baron people in a tavern, you can be aggressive or not, doesnt change much but it creates a good illusion.
I think like you said the groundwork for starfield is there but they didn’t execute. I actually thought I liked it until I got about 50 hours in. Then it goes downhill from there.
Great video. Only the Imperium isn't fascist. It's an amalgamation of multiple structures of government. Imperium does what imperium does the best to survive, it's a dying empire that's on the defence for the past 10k years since Horus Heresy.
Great video as always, thank you! As someone who cannot connect to phantasy settings, i wish there one day will be a game like bg3 but in our todays unmagical world. i might be the only one who wonts this tho
I'll never understand souls likes like Remnant. Why craft such a beautiful, immersive world, then clutter it with an intrusive HUD, health bars, and damage numbers? Anyway really well made video. Def a lot of care taken in making it
I tried but couldn’t bring myself to liking Disco Elysium. I forced myself to play it like three times right now and it still sucks. Glad I’m not alone with this feeling.
Same, same, same. I mean I understand why many people love this game, but I feel like it’s more of a point and click game rather than RPG proper. Of course there’s a plenty of aspects to love and getting involved… Yet still I find it deeply boring and somehow pretentious. It might simply not be for me. Noah Caldwell-Gervais made great essay about the game. I highly recommend it despite of us not liking it that much. Great stuff btw. Keep making it.
Starfield has become one of my go to games to relax. The ‘exploration’ in Starfield is the quest and gorgeous vistas. Seriously landing on Titan at night and looking up at Jupiter in the sky… there’s nothing else like it. As a lover of Space and Sci-fi I’m very glad Starfield exists to provide such an optimistic vision of humanity’s future. CP2077 shows us a glimpse of what the future of what our society would look like with its decadence and cynicism whereas Starfield represents what I imagine people imagined the future to be prior to JFK’s assassination. Also I’m not a Bethesda fan so that works in my favour I guess since Starfield is in so many ways antithetical to what BGS has done in the past. Of course the game does have issues but I’m glad they attempted something of this scale
Ya I actually think Starfield has some great visuals despite what a lot of people say it has a beauty that is super unique, just is lacking a lot too. Appreciate you taking the time to support my stuff thank you!
@@FranklyGamingtotally get your points. There’s a lot to look past. Love your channel buddy and you’re easily of those click as soon as I see a new video kinda channels 😊
Sorry, man, but the relationships and romances are important and some of the most rewarding elements of BG3. And I applaud this game for being bold enough to include things like...oh, I don't know, something fun and adult like sex.
I was about to get my pitchfork out about the Disco Elysium take but then it turned into pure respect for your honesty about you just being too stupid😂 it's OK man
Disco Elysium did not work for me twice when I was playing it on my PC. I had the same issue with it being too slow and a ton of reading. But then, I played it on the Steam deck on my bed. And it completely changed my experience of the game altogether. See the thing is, when I sit at my desk on my chair in front of a big screen with my keyboard and mouse, I am in for some serious gaming. And reading and slow pace was not something that I prefer when sitting at a desk. But, it works awesome lounging on a couch or on the bed - which is why I think this game is best enjoyed on a steam deck or a similar device. I absolutely enjoyed my playthrough on the steam deck and I will definitely start a new playthrough soon.
Ya that sounds like a great idea honestly make it more like reading a book and relaxing I had the issue on my playthroughs too where it would get tiring, also thanks for watching!
@dugolddobyslaw2693Do you really feel so smart after saying that nonsense? The controllers are made specifically for gaming, when the keyboard's design is copied directly from typewriters.
Love this! Subscribed and thank you! I love the categories too. So relevant! Many of these games I either never thought of or never heard of and now I'm really interested to give them a try.
I also think the Starfield interiors look bland and unimaginitive. Mostly hardly any different to a modern office, airport, railway station etc. Not even 30 years in the future, let alone 300. Starfield has so much potential, but it all disappears as everything has been implemented so lazily. Apart from a couple of areas like Ship designer, that isn't even a necessary part of the game and hardly links to the main game at all.
Lethal company is still in early access what do you mean most unrealized potential. >.> That would be like saying BG3's early access version has the most unrealized potential, ofc it has because it's early access.
I think the mass effect music in the back ground kind of gives the game away. Starfield isn't Mass effect. It's Fallout. You are fighting the exact same raiders or mutants that make up 90% of the encounters, this this complaint rings very hollow. I have heard some people complain about repeated dungeons, but I've got 100 hours in the game and haven't seen a 1. Although that might be because I didn't bother with the pointless exploring and radiant quests, I played all the missions. And if you do that, you get a lot of game play, and a lot of story. It still wasn't the best game I played this year by far. TOTH, BG3, Rogue trader, phantom liberty. There were so many good RPG's this year. But just because something wasn't the best doesn't mean it wasn't good.
Ya I definitely see this side Starfield has a lot of good too it’s just that potential for what it could be that disappointed me, I hope the first dlc knocks it out of the park. Thank you for taking the time to watch!
I think spectacular graphics and a blizzard of detail are great, but they don't leave much to the imagination. Intensely detailed FPS universes are one direction but not the only direction. Games can either be, job training, or an evolving form of literature.
Cannot possibly disagree harder with the idea of starfield replacing faction quests and side quests with procedurally generated shit. While they may not be great, when I play RPGs, I sign up for fun side quests written by human beings. Procedurally generating stuff can be fun if used well, but only as a bonus. We really shouldn't be encouraging studios to start procedurally generating everything in their games, or at some point a robot might as well do it for them.
I mean it more like hand written things, so basically putting faction quest level things in the procedural system, like land on planet and instead of another bandit outpost it is a massive casino with 10 hours of quests that otherwise would have been a big mission in a faction. Make everywhere you go feel amazing and a new style of game that seperates it. And makes it more focused too
Currently playing through BG3 and just saw the scene at 1.27 in the video I really hope that is a choice your character made in game and not a huge spoiler for lae'zels story line
Not to worry! There are multiple ways she can die😅 Or she may not die at all. Or she can become... Or you and her can become... You know. It all will depend from your choices. Game is wildly branched.
@@FranklyGamingAh OK awesome thanks! loving the video as per usual (Still watching). Keep up the exceptional work friend 😊 One of my favourite newly discovered channels. Edit: Just checked and its criminal that you don't have more subs. All the best for 2024
@@sunderland69Thanks for letting me know. This is the first game that's gripped me in ages and was gonna be gutted if I got a part of it spoiled but luckily that's not the case haha
Starfield is a great game. It suffered from not meeting the unrealistic expectations. If some independent developer created this, it would win indy game of the year.
Ya I think a lot of what it did was really impressive for sure and think they could turn things around a lot for sure, I think my biggest gripe is the writing I didn’t find good at all, which sours multiple things. I still put a bunch of time in though was fun
@@draguu8987 No Todd, don't even think about starting work on DLC until you've fixed the quality of life issues in the original game. Cut the loading screens, make the GUI slick and elegant. And then, fix the NPC AI. And after that, improve the writing, take the "bland filter" off it. Actually, dont' bother with any of that. Just keep telling those disappointed with the game that they are just wrong.
Such a shame I didn’t enjoy baldurs gate like you did I really did want to enjoy it but I tried divinity original sin 2 but both games were just too overwhelming with a billion menus and complicated combat that just made me hate the gameplay. If they gave us a spinoff with the same great story but just make it an action rpg instead? I think it’ll even appeal to EVEN more people.
Disco elysium is like a modern performance art piece. It says a lot of intelligent sounding things, does something random and uninteresting, than everybody claps.
Or maybe you just didn't like it or didn't care much to think about what DE is actually narrating, because it has a LOT to say and it says it all the time. But considering you open your statement with the most trite, banal cliché about contemporary (not modern, modern art ended in the XIXth century) art says a lot about your opinion.
Underrated for me for sure, for example cyberpunk 2077 for the first few years was underrated for me even though it was one of the most hyped games ever lol. And thanks for watching!
while this is clearly a very insightful and well-put together video, it almost feels more like “here are my thoughts on the 10 biggest releases of 2023”… usually in this type of video i try to look for people talking about more niche titles i haven’t heard about but these were all immensely popular releases, even the indie one (lethal company) is insanely popular already. nothing wrong with that, but i have to imagine you played more games this year than just what’s in the top 10 sellers on steam?
@pmlite_ the likes of Clash: Artifacts of Chaos may be interesting for you to check out. Just look up some screenshots and you'll get an idea from visuals alone. Other fun releases would be (for me) Soulstice from last year and Cookie Cutter from last week. Former's a DMC-type game with a pretty good story and despite some divisive elements, it's a really good first *really big* game by its dev studio. And Cookie Cutter is a metroidvania with super strong visuals and solid gameplay, spare some annoyances (a few annoying enemy types and combat encounters, but nothing that can't be handled). Set in a sci-fi/cyberpunk planet that grew around a sapient energy source with robots fueled by human souls, and is actually super colorful. What makes it so niche is the tone. It's a kind of lawless land where, even though the story, while cheesy, is treated seriously, the devs mainly put in what they thought was cool. Stuff like frog people with sawblade polearms, a big Hindu demon with a belly mouth, a skeleton robot merchant with an afro speaking almost exclusively in dirty jokes and double entendres, and some dirty humor and jokes. That, and the main character's design. If any of these catch your interest and you choose to play them, i hope they'll be a good time to you. Or that you may simply spread the word on it.
I physically couldn't disagree with any of your opinions in every category, especially on the disco elysium take. It feels great to have a like-minded individual in a sea of content creators. Amazing video
To be honest Remnant 2 was na commercial success and encensed by most reviews. The poroblem is not that it is underrated but that too many great games released around teh same time.
Whoa! Someone who has the odd opinion as I do with Mass Effect 1 being the best and Wasteland 3 being an amazing RPG. Have to sub to this man of culture before I finish ME3 on my channel, even if I disagree with your take on Alan Wake II, I thought it was lazy and derivitive. I will have to check out Lethal Company to play with friends. I also have Disco Elysium in my queue to play in 2024, so I put my hand over my ears and said lalalla during that part. I did hear from multiple people that Pizza Tower is probably the best game of the year, but I am not into speedrun platformers. Anyway, awesome presentation and pace on this review, cannot wait for your next one! Oh and my favorite game of the year is Age of Empires II Definitive edition. loved this video! as someone who mostly plays stealth + horror games I hadn’t played much of the games you talked about and it was nice seeing your review of everything before trying them out (specifically bg3 id love to get into haha)
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for supporting!
Also new here and watched a few of your videos. Great writing and very palpable presentation; keep doing what you're doing! Subbed.
Thank you very much!
Sad to see you didn’t like disco Elysium, But it’s understandable
@@Justin-ee1mv I talk about it more in my upcoming video I’ve come around to it some more still mixed tho
Talked about it on my previous video, it’s so great
Started CP2077 a week and a half ago, on its way to my favourites and Phantom Liberty is excellent. Going for 100%.
Only other 2023 gaming content I have played is Risk of Rain Returns which is a great roguelite. Can't wait to try Baldur's Gate 3 one day.
since 2.0 it has become my favorite game but then with 2.1 the performance took a massive hit. now I have to wait until they fix this.
Dope video, I get what you're saying about Starfield..it had some problems. Huge potential though.
On to 2024 brother!
Appreciate it man! Now just waiting for mass effect haha
Well man, just found your channel the last few days and the content that you are putting out is top-tier! keep up the great work
Thank you so much for the support!
Your mention of prey, won my subscribe. I also have to credit worth a buy for this choice. So few people on youtube mention prey.
Such a great game, and thanks for the support!
Bethesda seems to think that their procedurally generated content is pulling a much thicker wool over the eyes of players than it actually is
You not liking disco elysium kind of blew my mind.
Thank you very much! And happy holidays
Really appreciate that! And don’t worry always focus on making quality stuff first and foremost, success will follow I think
for me, one of the scene that sold definitly disco elyseum as a masterpiece was the swing scene at the midle of the game.
You seat with somoene who start to become a friend , I décided i kinda wanted to impress him by doing my best... You wait for a car to be accessible as the frost arround it is melting... A very quiet and melancolic atmosphere in instaled... you exchange few words... I was totaly absorbed in the now....
*big spoiler*
then the frost recead enough to see the number plate. ... a numberplate you know as the player, as it's a very important sidequest for you're character.
and Kim, your companion, know also verywell this numberplate... and i was starting to realise exactly as the same time as my character and kim what car it was.
you're character is horrified. kim is as empathic as ever... and god i had one of the biggest laugh i ever had in my gaming experience, i couldn't stop before at least 2 minute of ininterupted laugh. but i'm pretty sure i also felt the distress of the hero discovering it was his car that he lost after being hammered.
Remnant is so good for sure I loved it, and thanks for watching!
Great channel and thanks for saving me many hours searching for a new game
Thank you! And hope you enjoy the picks!
Thank you for the kind words! And wish I had tried street fighter honestly seems great
The most interesting thing about Starfield is that almost every review I saw said that you have to turn off your mind to enjoy it...
to the cyberpunk point, nah it got the flack it deserved, just cause you like 1 PART of a game doesn't mean the actual problems are irrelevant, thats how you get the mediocrity of the current industry
its LUCKY to of fixed itself
Disco Elysium is not for everyone. It is however one of the best games I've ever played
18:35 was that on purpose the starborn double up? Because you are talking about the repetitiveness of the multidimensions… if yes awesome. If no… also awesome. lol thanks for a great video.
First vid of yours, good stuff 👍
Thank you very much
I’ve broke 1000 hours in cyberpunk, and I can see myself putting at least 1000 more in.
Great video! I was curious about Dyson Sphere so thanks a million for that review - I need a break from Baldur's Gate 3 as there are only so many ways I can romance Shadowheart and Karlach....
Dyson sphere is so awesome and just had a huge update too, and poor shadow heart hahaha.
Thanks for the support as always man
What is strange is I agree with the Starfield stuff yet I still love playing it.
Nice video, i didnt get the chance to play any of these games but what i enjoyed listening about them
Just started watching you man and I like your content. Your voice is calming and I need to be calm now given that I just started playing Subnautica and I'm genuinely afraid. I play lots of horror games and this non horror one actually has me afraid. So I'm going to listen to this while I play to calm my nerves haha....
Thanks for all the support!
And subnautica is great
The moment I first saw you gush about Cyberpunk and how you still liked it even before the fixes, as well as your love for Mass Effect, and now how you said you found Disco Elysium boring convinced me that you are the video game content creator that I share my tastes with the most. Hope you explore more niche and less popular games so I can have someone discover non-mainstream titles for me.
BG3 is great it's a shame it is always broken!
I'm so done with the save deletion bug (yes it deletes itself from a cloud too).

Finally someone who also have similar thoughts about disco elysium as me. The philosophy lover in me will hopefully love the talos principle series. Loved hifi rush btw.
Thank you for watching!
Awesome Channel! Please keep it up! :)
Thank you very much!
I hope 2024 will be better for everyone, and that people get to experience it! 🥂
Disco was different but great. I also didn't finish though. It's a little exhausting for some reason
Cyberpunk 2077, Talos Principle 2, HOGWARTS Legacy, Atomic hearth a Robocop were the games for me in 2023 :)
Only bit of this vid that surprises me is Disco Elysium being referred to as a disappointment. Still a good vid, though.
Thank you for watching!
Ya maybe I’ll come back and love it but just hasn’t clicked for me, and cyberpunk so so amazing
I would be interested in knowing what you thought of Jedi Survivor
Great video. Only the Imperium isn't fascist. It's an amalgamation of multiple structures of government. Imperium does what imperium does the best to survive, it's a dying empire that's on the defence for the past 10k years since Horus Heresy.
Thank you very much! And ya still learning a lot about the universe 😂
@@FranklyGaming I hope you enjoy this vast universe. Really sucked me in back 10 years ago (no, I didn't get into tabletop or miniatures lol)
Maybe when I get out of debt I can get a ps5 and Baulder's Gate 3. Cause, man, do I want to play it
Great video as always, thank you! As someone who cannot connect to phantasy settings, i wish there one day will be a game like bg3 but in our todays unmagical world. i might be the only one who wonts this tho
Ya bg3 level in sci fi would be my dream, really hoping larians next thing is sci fi but I assume not, thanks for watching!
BG3 isn't the end all be all, not even as a crpg
I'll never understand souls likes like Remnant. Why craft such a beautiful, immersive world, then clutter it with an intrusive HUD, health bars, and damage numbers? Anyway really well made video. Def a lot of care taken in making it
I tried but couldn’t bring myself to liking Disco Elysium. I forced myself to play it like three times right now and it still sucks. Glad I’m not alone with this feeling.
Surprised I’m not the only one lol I’ve only seen non stop praise for the game
Same, same, same.
I mean I understand why many people love this game, but I feel like it’s more of a point and click game rather than RPG proper. Of course there’s a plenty of aspects to love and getting involved… Yet still I find it deeply boring and somehow pretentious. It might simply not be for me.
Noah Caldwell-Gervais made great essay about the game. I highly recommend it despite of us not liking it that much.
Great stuff btw. Keep making it.
@@mrszisz1 thank you for the support
Great video, I totally agree with disco elysium 👍🏼
Thank you for the support!
Remnant 2 was my most played game this year, so damn good !
@@iamkurogane I really appreciate that!
Agreed with so much of your video. And delivery. Bravo.🎉
Thank you for supporting the work I do!
Wonderful and beautiful video dude
Really appreciate that man!
Something annoying I noticed this year is all the hate I saw BG3 get. Reminded me of when Parasite won best picture
Sorry, man, but the relationships and romances are important and some of the most rewarding elements of BG3. And I applaud this game for being bold enough to include things like...oh, I don't know, something fun and adult like sex.
I was about to get my pitchfork out about the Disco Elysium take but then it turned into pure respect for your honesty about you just being too stupid😂 it's OK man
Mass Effect 1 playing on the background of Starfield, nice touch...still, ME1 is still the best sci-fi game
Keyboards are meant for typing emails not gaming
@dugolddobyslaw2693Do you really feel so smart after saying that nonsense? The controllers are made specifically for gaming, when the keyboard's design is copied directly from typewriters.
another banger, enjoying this video a lot
Thank you very much!
News about starfield is that it's totally f'ed and limited as hell so mods cannot make the game what i should be.
Love this! Subscribed and thank you! I love the categories too. So relevant! Many of these games I either never thought of or never heard of and now I'm really interested to give them a try.
Thank you for the support!
Dyson Sphere Programm.Glad it is getting noticed
It’s so awesome, hopefully the community keeps growing. And thanks for watching!
Love your explanations! Disco Alyseum was a pleasant surprise for me.
Thanks for watching!
dude the quests are literally the worst ive played from bethesda
so ma ny unmemaorable quests, thats why I dropped it sooner
I also think the Starfield interiors look bland and unimaginitive. Mostly hardly any different to a modern office, airport, railway station etc. Not even 30 years in the future, let alone 300. Starfield has so much potential, but it all disappears as everything has been implemented so lazily. Apart from a couple of areas like Ship designer, that isn't even a necessary part of the game and hardly links to the main game at all.
Lethal company is still in early access what do you mean most unrealized potential. >.> That would be like saying BG3's early access version has the most unrealized potential, ofc it has because it's early access.
Thank God I found someone epse who has same opinions on Disco Elysium.Too much stupid philosophy in that game.
Remnant gameplay in warhamer universe with cdpr writers in colab with Larian 😆
I like the way you talk 😂
Superb list. It seems you and I have had a similar year in games.
Thank you for watching!
We had the best action RPG in 2022 and best rpg in 2023. I think we may have the best survival rpg release in 2024.
Just a choice early on happened for me act 1 ❤️
Not to worry! There are multiple ways she can die😅 Or she may not die at all. Or she can become... Or you and her can become... You know. It all will depend from your choices. Game is wildly branched.
@@FranklyGamingAh OK awesome thanks! loving the video as per usual (Still watching). Keep up the exceptional work friend 😊 One of my favourite newly discovered channels.
Edit: Just checked and its criminal that you don't have more subs. All the best for 2024
@@bradderzthebell thank you the support means a lot!
Todd , stop imposing as other people on youtube and get your team working on much needed DLC !!
Wow. This is incredible content. thank you for such thoughtful, substantive work
Thank you for the support!
One day people will learn the definition of underrated, but otherwise good video
Underrated for me for sure, for example cyberpunk 2077 for the first few years was underrated for me even though it was one of the most hyped games ever lol.
And thanks for watching!
you should try the game "sally face" i think you would really like it
while this is clearly a very insightful and well-put together video, it almost feels more like “here are my thoughts on the 10 biggest releases of 2023”… usually in this type of video i try to look for people talking about more niche titles i haven’t heard about but these were all immensely popular releases, even the indie one (lethal company) is insanely popular already. nothing wrong with that, but i have to imagine you played more games this year than just what’s in the top 10 sellers on steam?
I would say all the last stuff is niche? Like talos principle, Dyson sphere? Rogue trader?
12:20 This truly was The Year of The Game.
I physically couldn't disagree with any of your opinions in every category, especially on the disco elysium take. It feels great to have a like-minded individual in a sea of content creators. Amazing video
Thanks so much for the support!
amazing video thank you!
Thank you for watching!
I felt like the only person in the world who didn't like Disco Elysium for the longest time. I've always found it boring and up its own ass.
To be honest Remnant 2 was na commercial success and encensed by most reviews. The poroblem is not that it is underrated but that too many great games released around teh same time.
Starfield wouldn't be so bad if it was a $20 game
That makes no sense
You giveme the little + that i needed to buy at least two of those games.
Glad to hear! And thanks for watching
Yes, a game that came out almost 30 yrs ago
