This content really reminds me of the old star wars content on YT really glad it's resurfacing again. It's very informative and very enjoyable. Long live The Empire!
Imperial dreadnaughts always had such an imposing stature around them. They really were head turners . Especially when you see them depicted. A good video would be one were you maybe talk about what dreadnaught you would design if you were a Kuat drive yards ship designer. This idea could work for star destroyers, picket ships, fighters etc. Great vid as always
Legends vessel crew requirements are bullshit: the 12km long mandator 3 class has a crew of 28,000 while ISDs require crews in the 40-50k range, and then the several hundred meter long Imperial 2 class frigate has a crew of 19,000 while the 900m Victory SD with multiple times the firepower has crew requirements in the 5-6k range. None of this makes sense. At least the Rendili Stardrive Dreadnaught's ridiculous 16k crew for its size makes sense, but that's only because Zahn set up lore for the ship to make the crew size a plot point in the first place, all to make the Katana's 2k crew stand out that much more as a seperate plot point to further accentuate Thrawn's skill as a strategist and tactician; ie it wasn't just the nearly 200 fresh mid-size capital ships he could add to the Imperial fleet at a time when they desperately needed capital ships that made the Katana fleet so appealing to Thrawn, it was that the Empire would also be able to crew and field them despite its, at the time, extremely limited resources, manpower and logistics because of the low crew requirements of the Katanas (iirc it's pointed out in the book that if they'd been standard Dreadnoughts instead of Katanas, then aquiring the fleet wouldn't have done Thrawn any good because trying to field nearly 200 of them would have tied up more manpower than they would have been worth to him as combat assets). Side note: iirc, I think that was the only time crew sizes specifics like that ever really came up inside any legends story, I think the rest of the numbers come from things like legends rpg sourcebooks). But yeah, none of the Legends crew sizes for these capital ships seem to make the least bit of sense when you stand back and look the them as a whole, but that probably has something to do with the way they were added piecemeal to the lore over such a long stretch of time.
I get why the the Yuuzhan Thong(🙃) defence theory developed; why do you need this stuff against an insurrection, even if you take Tarkin doctrine into account.
Ok, ventral is the bottom of a ship, dorsal is the top of a ship. Please stop pointing to the bridge regions while mentioning ship anuses. Good info, thx.

Looks great
Man o man, the Empire must have had a HUGE HR department.

Great vid as always
Great video my friend, the Eclipse is definitely my favorite Imperial dreadnought
I think it's my favorite, too. I am also working on a video to review imperial cruisers used by the Empire. There are more than l originally realized.
@@ImperialsExplained awesome, looking forward to it

Recently joined the channel; awesome content !! Will see each and every vid.
Long live the empire !
Welcome to my channel 👍😊 Long live the Empire!
19 meters long!? Thats a game changer. lol Good video.
My mistake 👍I obviously meant to say nineteen thousand meters.
@ImperialsExplainedStarWars 19 kilometers. People who use the metric system generally don't say "thousand meters".
@@BrokenCurtain spoken like someone who uses the imperial system
Great Video. Love the media you chose.
Great Video. (Also gotta appreciate you giving credit to fractalsponge)
For the Empire!
“The first executor class dreadnought emerged from Kuat Drive Yards at Fondor at a length of 19 meters long.”
An obviously mistake 😊
he was right, first executor class build was started in kuat drive yards, and it was finally finished on Fondor yards
He was talking about the showcase miniature model for the presentation of the vessel.... I think
That’s 19 kilometres not meters.
What is this? A Super star destroyer for ANTS? 😅
I wish we would’ve seen a dreadnought in episode six ROTJ. maybe we’ll see one in the Mandalorian movie. Thanks for another great video.
That would be cool! we never saw these in the movies which a shame but still great for making these videos 👍😊
Long live the empire!

Yes, agreed. A lot of crew requirements from the source books 📚
3:40 wow, 19 METERS?!
A slip of the tough l am afraid.
Fun fact there is a MK II executor class
Bellator my bae
U forgot the Legacy from last vid
Are you saying I missed a class called 'Legacy', I can't find any material on that at all.
