Hi Barry. I'm a late comer to tramping and slowly growing my skills from your collection, I reckon this is another one of your great vids! Appreciate all the well thought out info you provide and great tips you share. Also love the wee gimmicks and humour you use, keeps it fun and easier to soak up the wisdom. 😊

Hi Barry, great video here. No probs at all watching every second from start to finish. I have camped for many years but always learn something from your content. Enjoy the extra effects on your edits too. Once again good view numbers after only posting a short time ago. ATB Tom

Last time I went out in my Hilleberg Allak I had a pole break on me 😭😭 I've now fixed the pole and bought a spare. Great upload

Oh wow! What caused the pole to break? I do think in bad weather there’s a strong argument towards doubling up of the poles on the Hilles, or changing to 10mm on the red labels.

@@wildmountainman1 I had a gust of over about 20 mph as I pushed down on the last pole and that was it snapped, I think when I got the Allak (which I love) I should have paid the extra £75.00 and got the Staika, the 10 mm pole upgrades will cost me more than the difference I could have paid.

Oh no! What a shame. Yes, a Staika would be nice, never mind. The Allak is still a great tent. Enjoy.

Had 2 tents fail. first one was in 80mph forecast winds, got flattened, used my rucksack to take the weight of the wind of me inside the tent until daylight. 2nd one got ripped out of the ground in 90mph forecast winds when a gust shot in the door , got dragged along hanging onto the guyline till the gust died, then stuffed the tent with its contents into a survival bag and gtfo.
Current tent, double poling it with 10mm poles

Wow! Both those experiences sound really wild. Glad you’re ok and that they have lead you to the bomb shelter of a tent you have now. Hard to go wrong with 2 x 10mm poles! ⛺

I love your vids mate. recently found out about ya. but tbh. if you want to hit your target demographic, you gotta lose the over dramatic intro and reactions. 12 year olds aren't watching your vids, we are. lol but i watch your vids because they are informative
