Hello, I just noticed my washer had the TE error code and it wasn't running. I turned it off and restarted it and it's running again. I also noticed there's water, soapy water, a lot of soap, underneath the washer. More in the back. Where could this leak be coming from and could it be connected to that TE error code?
Mighty Mike Thanks for watching & sharing your experience. The tE code is tied to your Heating Element & Heat Sensor. Before anything, unplug washer for safety purposes. Next, locate the two water lines that feed into washer. These lines provide water for washing machine & if either of the lines are loose, it can cause flooding. If lines are properly secured & not leaking, you will need to look internally & see if any hoses have begun to leak. Have you been able to get a better look at the internal portion of the washer? It’s possible that your actual Heating Element is leaking & will need to be replaced. Keep us posted, we are here to help. Let’s get this figured out! Please subscribe to the channel and turn on your TH-cam notification Bell 🛎 that would be awesome thanks again! 😎👍🔧🔩
DIY With Michael Borders Hello Michael, Thanks for replying very quickly. It's still running it's cycle that I restarted so I haven't been able to open it up yet to check internally. Once it's done, I will check the hoses and if it's not there, then I will go further into checking the heating element. How can I tell if the leak is coming from the heating element? Thank You, Mike
Mighty Mike Thanks for the reply, the only way to check is to see if there are visible signs of water at the Heating Element itself. Check to see if the wiring connected to Element has any signs of water. This is unlikely however we cannot rule it out. It’s more likely that you have a leak coming from the main rubber hose connecting to the bottom portion of the bowl ... or a leak coming from your drain pump area. The drain pump has three hoses connecting to it and all water passing through those three houses are under pressure. Below is a link to our video that shows replacement of the Drain Pump. This video will give you a better view of all three houses and the actual drain pump for your reference. th-cam.com/video/M2LltDIjNl0/w-d-xo.html Keep us posted! 😎👍🔧🔩
DIY With Michael Borders Hello Michael, My washer is actually smelling like it's burning now and is actually smoking. What could be causing this now? Thank You, Mike
Mighty Mike Thanks for the reply. Burning odors / Smoke can be generated by a few different things. 1. An electrical short: It’s possible that you have a loose wire connection causing a short or an electrical arc. This can cause erratic behavior electrically & lead to overheating & melting of wires. You’ll want to inspect all wiring throughout your system. It sounds tedious however will need to be done to ensure the safety of your machine. Look for any signs of loose connections points or melted wiring. 2. Worn out Drive Belt: It’s possible that your drive belt is worn out and not staying firmly pressed to the drive. This will cause smoke odor as your drive is beginning to have stationary pauses due to your belt not having a firm grab while spinning... in other words your belt is continuing to spin over a stationary surface causing increased heat thus burning odor. 3. Worn out bearing: A worn out bearing can cause burning odor/smoke. The most common way to gauge whether or not your bearing is wearing out is to rotate your washer bowl and if you hear any grinding noises, it’s an indication that your bearing is wearing out. Keep us posted! 😎👍🔧🔩
