I have already done the modifications to my lights as per your excellent instructional video (about 30 minutes work per light) and I'm very happy. I did some extensive testing on the temperature readings before and after and I only get an increase in 1' so now my operating temp at 100% with reflector attached is 48', also very happy with the noise reduction which is significant!. I also did temperature tests using a reflector honeycomb grid and also a small softbox, all working temps are good still around 48' to 49'. Thank you.

Can confirm your temperatures. Exactly the same on both of my lights.

    Hi Pascal,
thanks for making this tutorial, it was really easy to follow, and a lot clearer than the other ones.

Thanks for the detailed video on the process - this could be an official service guide!

This is the best video instructions I have found on YT for the fan issue. I will be using your instructions to modify my lights this weekend. Thanks for sharing.

I've done this to my SL60II Bi, although not sure it is much quieter. The fan shroud has been changed on the SL60II, so you need to cut the fan to fit in the opposite side.

Great video. Just a few observations from my swap: 1)My maximum temperature is now 50 from 42. 2) Fan noise is now very low or not even audible as compared before. 3) Now the fan not working sign flashes on display which is no problem as long you ensure the fan is physically working. But nonetheless this mod is a good way to go

Can confirm your findings! My lights are exactly 50 degrees after 10-20 minutes as well. Still far away from the 70° threshold

particularly good video, definitely when I have some time, I'll make this modification to my Godox SL60W! To improve the noise comparison, you would have to use a sound level meter. By placing the sound level meter at the same distance, you can more accurately measure the noise difference in dB. 🙌

Great video! Do you know why the power/battery indicator is blinking?

I have the same one and suddenly it turns off.
I only see on the screen the icon of the battery with two charges that blinks. Do you know what it can be?

THE TEMPERATURE OF MY SL60 RISES UP TO 80 DEGREES AND TURNS OFF, I wonder what the problem is

I noticed other videos they had to remove a bridge cable and leave it unattached. I just ordered this fan brand my light makes noise tilted with softbox on. Find out when I open it.

I completely removed the cable and fan PCB on this mod. No noise when tilted with the Noctura! had the same issue as you
