    This video helped so much. I was struggling with other software and found the GoPro Quik software frustrating. I hate doing everything just on a cell phone. I used you video tips recently to make my first GoPro edit. Not as good as your stuff but with your tips it's 100x's better than my first edit.

      I have to use Quik with my Max 360 footage and it’s a love / hate relationship. Happy to hear that I helped guide you in the right direction, practice makes perfect! Thanks for the feedback!

    Great idea for more content on your channel. Love all the riding videos but this is a great spin off and brilliant content builder. Keep up the hard work and continued growth.

    Drone will auto split the video every 4GB. I see there are lots of small video clips when to output the shooting footage, what should I do If I want a full-length video?

    • @GlobalTrailGuide
      @GlobalTrailGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Create a new video with editing software and line up all of the clips in chronological order - then export the new video and it will be a full length video including all of the clips.

      @@VideoProcConverter you are welcome! I’ve received many questions about editing, but I believe you’re the first to ask about this specific scenario. It’s a good question because GoPro also creates multiple video files for long recording sessions.

    Good video. How do you get the GoPro footage to play back in full screen? In other words my videos have a bar at the top and bottom that bar out of focus, with the video playing in between. I cannot figure out how to get rid of that I hope that makes sense.

    • @GlobalTrailGuide
      @GlobalTrailGuide  ปีที่แล้ว

      It sounds like your aspect ratio? GoPros record 16:9 as standard, but you can adjust in camera or during editing / export

    Do you mess with color correction at all in iMovie? I’ve just now started using some of the tools - this weeks video will be my first attempt

    • @GlobalTrailGuide
      @GlobalTrailGuide  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not in iMovie, but within Final Cut Pro - simply because that’s the software I always use now. I haven’t personally tried it in iMovie yet.
      I actually color corrected the GoPro clip before starting to edit it within the video. A few months back I started recording with a flat color profile, so it always looks bland out of camera.

      How old is your Mac? How full is the hard drive?
      If you’re recording in 4K, this can put a high demand on your computer and your hard drive / processor may not be able to keep up. Another test you can try is recording in 720/1080 to see if the issue persists.

  • @madlifts1
    @madlifts1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    when i upload my gopro videos to my mac, then move them to my editor software. they start pausing alot. what would be the problem, thanks

    • @GlobalTrailGuide
      @GlobalTrailGuide  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This sounds like a computer processing speed issue. So an insufficient processor, insufficient RAM, etc.
      Video editing (especially if 4K) can be very hard on computers and stresses their performance capabilities. Your computer may not have the necessary hardware to keep up.
      A few options that may help:
      - Close any other applications that may be open while you’re trying to edit
      - Allow videos to fully import \ render prior to starting your edit
      - Record in a lower resolution (1080 for example) and see if issue persists
      - Verify computer specs and if it’s designed to handle editing the video resolution that you’re working with. If not, consider upgrading / replacing (Apple’s new macs with silicon chips are lightning fast and many users have reported zero issues with editing all types of footage)

    I have a gopro hero 8 ,how do I upload a 4k video on TH-cam, I did upload one video and it didn't come out the same quality, I downloaded adobe premium rush, kinemaster and power director and inshot which is better and I do have the Gopro quick but I haven't subscribed to it yet

    • @GlobalTrailGuide
      @GlobalTrailGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dennis, I’m not familiar with the applications you listed; however, most video editing software has you set the export settings when you create a new project. So, create a new project and look for an option regarding resolution: 720, 1080, 4K (3,840 x 2,160 pixels), etc
      Let me know if this helps!

      Simply import (or click and drag) each video / photo / audio file into your video editor

    How do I reduce GoPro video files to upload to TH-cam? They are so huge in GB!

    • @GlobalTrailGuide
      @GlobalTrailGuide  ปีที่แล้ว

      4K video files are always very large, not specific to GoPro. Depending on your requirements, you can consider lowering the resolution or lowering the frame rate… for example, 60fps is twice as much information as 30fps.
      However, you can also use a video editing tool to edit the clips together and then export, which will likely help to condense the file sizes. Additionally, you can use exporting to compress even further… however too much compression can affect image quality.

    Can you add subs with this too or text to a gopro footage?

    • @GlobalTrailGuide
      @GlobalTrailGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure I understand what you mean when you say subs. Can you please explain further?
      For text, yes! Within your video editor of choice there will be a "Titles" selection that will let you choose different types of text overlays, then you can customize your text and place it in your editing timeline.
